KFC here is amazing, great service.
The best cold green tea I've had in ages. it was so delicious I've been trying to find out where to buy that brand of tea bag!! The Gang Jung from the lunch menu was so yummy and filling. The staff are lovely and the service is nice a quick for lunch time too. Can't wait to come here again!
Delicious food and soju, right next to Southern Cross Station. Small enough that it's never too loud, even if it's busy. Everyone's always friendly and helpful.

My score 4.25 stars. J and I had a pre-footy dinner here on Fri 31st May. We originally tried Brim CC but it was full at 6.30 – a 15 min wait for a table, then 15min for non curry food (so we moved on). Luckily Chick-in was close by, so we gave it a go, as kick off wasn't that far away.
You go down a narrow side alley next to Purple Peanuts (which was also full). C-in was virtually chockers too (footy crowd mainly), they offered us 2 slightly cramped bench seats – which we accepted gratefully. Service was good - the place was really humming.
I had Kimchi fries ($17). Shoestring fries (on bottom), spicy green chilli (yum), tomato cubes, sour cream, Kimchi (not much), tasty cheese, chicken floss? (nice, but not very chickeny - a good thing for me). Overall naughty but nice (really yum) – could have murdered a beer with it, but I was being good (there were lots being consumed around us).
J had Avo Bibimbap ($13.50) + tuna ($3). Was really rice w salad (sort of Viet style) but who cares, it was really good! Small raw cubes of tuna (yummy), nice fanned avocado, gourmet lettuce, radish, cucumber, lotso pickled ginger and mildly spicy wasabi peas. Crunchy sprinkles and sesame seeds on the tuna and avo (v. good). Good warm rice w a great sesame seed–soyish dressing. A cold night but this still shone - J loved it and I did too! J is already hassling me to go back…
We've been here a couple of times with friends, it's a little hard to find as it is situated in a laneway, but true Melbournian's know that's where you end up finding the best foods.
So we always order the KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) and I must say, they have the juiciest boneless original flavour friend chicken I've had in Melbourne to date.
Also the kimchi fries and corn cheese is also a must have. Overall this place is a little gem hidden from the busy Collins and Spencer Street.

For a place named for its meat, Chick-in offers one of the best veggie dishes I've had in a while. It was a bibimbap of sorts (although seemed more Japanese than Korean) and couldn't be simpler - just avo, salad and pickled ginger on rice. But the composition was gorgeous and the quality was evident. The dish featured an entire half of a buttery avocado, delicately sliced and sprinkled with seaweed. The salad included cucumber cut into spirals that resembled rosettes. They were nearly too pretty to eat. A soy dressing accompanied the bowl, and I added an additional topping of lightly fried tubular rice cakes. For just $1, they're a must-have addition to any meal.
Found this place by chance, I don’t really like the ambiance here but as a reward they serve these holygood dokbokki and extra yumm deep fried chicken (づ￣ ³￣)づ
3.5. Came across this place randomly and got the fried chicken meal. It was very crunchy and the meat was very juicy. The flavours were pretty good - not too salty or soury. It is a busy place during lunch and we managed to get a seat outside which was great to eat the meal when it's hot!
A small Korean eatery in an alley way. Have tried them a few times especially for after work drinks when feeling like eating Asian meal. The taste is watered down to cater to people not familiar with spice and heat. The price is similar to any other Korean eateries in the area for the dishes they serve. If you are in the area and don’t have time to venture out then this can be a nice little place to wind down after work.
Had the kimchi fries to go. The fries was cooked perfectly and pairing the kimchi with the fries was a great combo. Only downside was that the lady packed me 2 sets of chopsticks when I reached for the plastic fork.
Very nice KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) when mixed with sauces. Chicken are moist. Both soy and spicy sauces are with sweetness. I can order different sauces on a whole chicken without additional cost, which is the best. Food menu is with average price. This restaurant only have long tables, which suitable for large groups. This restaurant is hidden inside a very narrow laneway, easier to get there via Collins St. It is very convenient by public transport, located just next to train station. Car parking available nearby.
This hole-in-the-wall establishment is gem! Tucked in a small alley near southern cross, chick-in serves great korean fried chicken. The chicken ribs are great, and I love how they throw in crispy tteokbokki in the max. And the ladies who run the place are the best, super nice.

We came at around 5:30pm on Friday and it was still quite. We ordered the kimchi pancake and the Gang Jung, which came onto our table rather quickly. When ordering, my mum said that she can't tolerate salty stuff so the owner very nicely made sure that they didn't even season the fried chicken. Super nice of them! And they also provided me (who has a normal palate) with extra seasoning on the side. I personally find the pancake super delicious - probably the best I've had so far! I will definitely come back :)

1/2 Chicken + Spicy Chicken Ribs With Chips 😍
Amazing Korean fried chicken (KFC). The chicken ribs is a must re-order, each bite is filled with juices leaving you to crave for more. The portions where on point, this was a meal for two (couple), we didn't finish. All the points go to the KFC really. Haven't tried the other items on the menu, but this place has already left a good impression.
Presentation and the chips could be improved though. The chips where a little dry (might be because it was a delivery) and the slaw they gave us would be better if it was in a seperate container because as you can see, by the time we opened the package of 1/2 KFC, it was all mushy and warm (we didn't really eat any of the slaw).
Amazing menu. Tried almost all dishes. Gang Jung, the hottest chicken and chicken wings are my favorite one. Dishes will be served with either chips or rice. Really good food.

It’s right across Southern Cross station, it’s in one of those alley ways, can be a little tricky to find but this place is a hidden gem
It’s a tiny place and can feel a little crammed up BUT the food makes up for it! I’ve been here twice already. Their fried chicken is yumm. Also tried their Ramen which was so so good! These guys also have some budget friendly lunch options.
The staff is friendly and service was quick!
