Came here on a Friday night and the restaurant was very empty - we were one of the only customers here! But service was fantastic and the waitresses were very patient and accommodating with us.

For 3 people, we ordered the beef noodle soup (thin noodles) and the grilled fish. The noodles are perfect and the broth is delicious and flavourful, with generous portion sizes. The fish came piping hot on the griddle plate, very flavourful and tender. We got ours with cauliflower, seaweed, Chinese cabbage and rice cake, but it also already comes with celery, potato, and a few other ingredients. The broth was very oily, but super delicious!

As they were having a special promotion at the time, we got 2 free rice and 2 free diet cokes with our grilled fish.

All in all, it was a delicious meal, and we can’t understand why this place doesn’t have more customers. Would be happy to come back!

I can be scatterbrained when I order. If I’m not concentrating fully things can go awry. I thought I ordered pork and cabbage soup here. But, they were clearly marked dumplings, a key fact not understood by a dunce like me. No matter. Mishaps like this can take you to interesting places. The dumplings were very plainly served but were lovely. And, it was certainly a generous sized serve. I decided to follow up with a spring onion pancake. I was in overreach territory then. The pancake was not bad but rather too large for me. I ended up just eating over half. Entirely my error. I like this place. It’s unfussed and unpretentious and all about good hearty Chinese food and speedy turnover. There was plenty of traffic while I was there. Apart from the dishes coming out a little slowly, only the turgid Muzak type music playing caused me momentary grief. I need to return to try the special fish dishes.

Low expectations but this place really delivered on taste. Grill fish was fine but they had a good array of toppings and extras were left in a bowl with hot water to replenish the grill with. Skewers were ok--good flavour but not a lot on each skewer. Great choice and range of cold/side dishes. What's really good here and definitely worth returning to would be the beef noodles--you can choose noodle thickness, they have a good bite to them, soup has good flavour that you can really taste in the noodles and the beef topping is so tender.

Service was prompt, the place is clean and not too crowded nor empty. I like how you get to choose the thickness of the noodles (I went with thick) and they came out just how I like them- thick and chewy. Beef was very tender too. Only drawback was that the tea egg (pictured) was obviously not marinated enough so it was not the slightest brown coloured. Overall, will come back soon.

Came a few days ago when we were craving some beef noodles, and remembered a friend recommending their Lanzhou beef noodles. Lanzhou is in the north west region of China and the cuisine from this region is quite carb heavy with strong flavours in many of the dishes. The beef noodles can be said to be one of the lighter dishes. We got one bowl of noodles each and also ordered a few side dishes. You can choose the level of thickness you want of the noodles, and also whether you want cilantro, garlic sprouts or chilli oil in them. My friends ordered non-chilli oil ones while I chose the opposite, and when my bowl came it had a whole full layer of chilli oil so I scooped most of it out into another bowl and left only a little bit in there to enhance the flavours. Note that this is how they do it in China too so I knew it would be quite oily, therefore if you want your spiciness without feeling that it is too greasy you can try doing the same. The soup was very hearty and warming for this weather and the beef slices were good too. Service was a bit slow because we were the only table seated upstairs as the downstairs tables were all occupied when we came. Now, this place is mainly known for its charcoal grilled fish, but it doesn't mean that is all you have to order if you come. They do have a variety of other spicy and non-spicy dishes and the prices are fairly reasonable. We will probably come back again to try other stuff.

I'd go back even if it were just for the skewers. I tried the BBQ squid skewer which was great. Sauce on point and great texture. Would've eaten 10 of those ~EASILY~ if it weren't for the main course.

The fish looks as good as it appears. Mine came with a side of broccoli, quail eggs, and mushrooms but clearly what's on offer had more than that. The broth was oily, though I've no complaints. This restaurant seems to specialise in schezuan style dishes and having that flavoured oil is staple to the dish. The fish was great, though hard to see, it was charred to a certain degree and cooked all the way through.

Probably one of my new fave dishes now. I will be coming back.

There are a lot of Chinese to have, and it's awesome... But be aware that Chinese food has a lot of spicy stuff. Sane goes with this restaurant. So go to thus restaurant at your own risk XD (not all foods are spicy, obviously)

Been to Charcoal Grill Fish twice now and I'll be coming back again.

I've tried their Beef Noodle as well as the Beef Noodle Soup.

The portions are very generous and you get to choose how thick or thin you want your noodles (5 options). My preference is the thickest as they tend to be most al-dente - and they're made in-house. There's always so much Beef in each portion and it's cooked to perfection.

They do have some other very good dishes, which I'm definitely keen on trying.

Prices are very good and service is great.

Definitely recommended!
