Tucked away upstairs above Brewtown - it’s a shame that the coffee shop hasn’t made more of an effort to get people up to this great bakery! After finding Brewtown had sold out of almost all their pastries I saw the sign pointing upstairs and decided to check it out. They had loads of beautiful pastries and savouries aswell as a banh mi menu. I ordered a almond croissant and a veggie quiche and was given a mini baguette to try. All delicious! Highly recommend and also good value for money.

Situated upstairs from Brewtown Newtown, Bakers Co Newtown serves the best pastries! Ive had their cronuts since I was in uni and it still tastes as good as before. This time I tried their pork and veal sausage roll, pork banh mi, lemon tart, salted caramel cronut and the mille feuille cake. They were all so delicious! I have a serious sweet tooth so the lemon tart was my fave. The mille feuille is a layered vanilla sliced cake, fluffy with the cream and fruity.

Thanks Kim from Bakers Co for the invite, ill definitely be back!

One of my favourite smells is freshly baked pastries and Bakers Co delievers on this. Situated upstairs from the popular Brewtown Newtown off King Street you will find this newly opened bakery with an array of beautiful pastries and savoury baked goods, I call it the stairwell to pastry heaven.

The bakery is in a warehouse converted building with high ceilings and a very urban feel with a decent amount of tables and a comfy corner sofa and corner table where you can enjoy your baked treats. You can see and smell the fresh pastries coming out of the oven, everything smells amazing.

I tried the following items:

Strawberry Mille Feuille - a signature dish here, the French vanilla custard slice is a signature dish here at Bakers Co, they make different flavours each day. I was lucky to try the strawberry cream slice, it was simply heavenly. The flaky pastry layers had a delicate and distinctly sharp crispiness as I tapped my form into the slice. The custard is creamy, not too sweet and well balanced by the strawberry cream and fresh fruit on top.

Strawberry fresh cream cronut - another signature dish which delivers the perfect cronut with it's multiple layers and crispy honeycomb like layers. The cream was light and not too sweet on top which was perfect for this croissant x donut treat.

Freshly baked almond croissant - this is no ordinary almond croissant, it is filled with the most delicate homemade almond meal inside. There are distinct layers of crispy flaked croissant pastry, filled with delicious almond meal.

Asparagus and mushroom quiche - this came fresh form the oven, I couldn't wait to dig in! It has everything that you want in a quiche, a buttery, crumbly yet firm base, a well balanced creamy egg filling. Loved this vegetarian option.

Pork and veal sausage roll - this was one of the best sausage rolls that I've eaten, so much flavour in each bite. The pork and veal filling was flavoured with plenty of herbs and fennel, you could see the fennel seeds inside. The filling is orange/red in colour, learnt that it has got carrot inside as a hidden ingredient, I think this was one of the secret ingredients as it just enhanced the flavour. I often need tomato sauce for my sausage rolls but this one didn't require any sauce, it was perfect on it's own.

Twice baked ham, cheese and bechamel sauce croissant - this elevates the humble ham and cheese croissant to another level, who would have imagined how good a croissant would be with creamy béchamel sauce. It might sound extremely rich, but it wasn't too heavy as there was just enough béchamel. Plus, I love mushrooms and was pleasantly surprised to find some inside.

Overall, I was very impressed by both the sweet and savoury dishes here at Bakers Co. After all my trips to bakeries in France, this French style patisserie in Newtown is just as good as the ones in France, the head pastry chef delivers on beautiful pastries and baked goodies. They are also shortly introducing a range of fresh breads to their range. I highly recommend a visit here. I can't wait to come back again!

Note: I dined as a guest of Bakers Co. All views expressed above are my own.

This is a must try and visit bakery!
Head on up from brewtown cafe to the rustic bakery upstairs on level 1! Their cronuts are absoutley amazing from the MATCHA cronut to the passionfruit and the ganache chocolate.

It is always a delight visiting Bakers Co, and to taste one of the best bakery’s serving top quality baked goods both sweet and savoury. We honestly wish we worked around Newtown as we would be here all the time! Check out how amazing the space looks as well! We’ve been lucky to try a lot of their amazing pastries and creations such as the fresh pesto chicken zucchini roll, the amazing asparagus & mushroom quiche and beef bourguignon pie!

Freshly made with quality ingredients. We’re drooling just looking at the pictures right now! Everything we visit Bakers Co, we are never disappointed and we have the best experience trying different flavours both savoury and sweet!

This amazing bakery in Newtown above Brewtown Newtown is by far the best in Newtown. The fact that Brewtown get their pastries and cakes from here, you might as well go straight to the source. Forget Brewtown and don't worry about trying to find a table downstairs, just head straight up the stairs to the Bakers Co beautifully decorated space with plenty of room to sit back. You will be greeted with that gorgeous bakery smell and an incredible display of mouth watering French pastries that are always super fresh. With the beautiful open kitchen you can even watch the magic take place while eating your delights. The staff are so welcoming and friendly and helpful. You will find it very hard not to go back for seconds or even thirds as everything is delicious. I recommend trying: -Their ham and cheese croissant which is only served on weekends and I can say it was the best I have ever had. -Original and salted caramel cronuts which were both perfect in texture and taste. -Opera cake is a beautiful and decadent chocolate cake with a delicious coffee flavour running through it. I can see why it got rated one of the best in Sydney by Good Food. -All their tarts are wonderful, with the stand out for me being the Chocolate fig tart which has a fig, chocolate ganache and subtle raspberry puree in the middle. -The meat pie and quiches are both mouth watering and finger licking good. This place is now my regular and go to spot for fresh bread and pastries.

Bakers Co. is the place to get the BEST ham and cheese croissant in Sydney. The croissant is so flaky, crisp and buttery. It's then stuffed with cheese and shaved ham and then blanketed in a thick house-made bechamel sauce. OH MY LORD. And don't get me started on their Beef Burgundy pie! Super meating, a beautiful red wine reducation in a buttery pastry, if they allowed BYO, perfect with a nice shiraz LOL.

My go to place for awesome bread, pastries and desserts that are just as good if not better than the stuff I've had in France! You can really taste the freshness and the quality of the ingredients they use that makes this place stand out. I also love the fact that they are constantly updating their menu and experimenting with different delicious flavours so there's always something new to try every time I drop by!!

Delicious, cakes, pastries and pies! authentic French style. Good coffee. Cool space with insta friendly neon lights! Not sure what else you could want from a patisserie. Highly recommend the baguettes and range of tarts. The sourdough bread is also a beautiful take home.

This little bakery in Newtown has recently opened up. Skip the queue & head upstairs from Brewtown Newtown and you will be faced with an amazing range of freshly baked bread, cakes, pastries, pies & the famous cronuts. The bakery is owned by a couple who specialise in French pastries and are always super friendly and accomodating. There's plenty of seating, so sit back and enjoy a croissant, cake & sip on some freshly brewed ice tea. My top 3 were: *Matcha Mille-Feuille (where the flavour changes on a regular basis). Flaky pastry, creamy vanilla filling & matcha topping. *Chocolate Fig Tart - take a freshly baked pastry shell, fill it with chocolate ganache, raspberry puree & top it with a fig :) *Opera Cake - the team here nailed the classic cake. I'm a fresh bread lover, so also took home a loaf of sourdough for brekkie the next day. Will be stopping by again the next time I'm in Newtown
