Love the decor, ambience, music here. Great place to chill out after dinner. I recommend going on weekday nights as it is less crowded and you get to pick your favourite couch and spot. The elderflower and lychee breeze was very refreshing and the champagne and strawberry martini was perfect as a dessert kind of drink. If you want something that looks fancy and social media worthy, get the laneway volcano punch!
I always thought the Laneway Lounge would be my kind of bar and I was right. A live band was playing old school RnB classics and there was a great atmosphere. Here, we had my favourite cocktail of the evening, though it was a tough call! This cocktail tastes like strawberries and cream with ketel one vodka, fresh pressed strawberries, creme de fraise, and a champagne emulsion. SO LUSH!
Perfect upscale place for drinks. Venue is styled with mismatching vintage armchairs, lounges and tables, great atmosphere. The only reason you need to come here: the COCKTAILS. They are amazing, and there is an extensive selection of gin.
Really nice place, great whiskey and gin selection, good wine and beer selection too. Amazing R&B music on Fridays and Saturdays. Live Band in the Live Music Room and DJ in the Lounge Area (perfect combo) :))
Love this place. Classy, elegant and upmarket.
Their cocktails are just delicious (no wonder they won the best cocktail bar in Perth 4 year straight)!!! Their food as well is to die for. Live music and DJ combo is fantastic. A venue like no other!!!
Awesome venue to relax and wind down after a hard day. The staff are amazing and an awesome venue for private functions. Amazing food, music and cocktails what more can you ask for?
Absolutely love the cocktails and food at the laneway lounge 😋. A venue like no other with excellent customer service. My definite weekend spot.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The classiest venue in Perth. Amazing food, drinks and entertainment. My go to venue any day of the week. Their cocktails are a HIGHLIGHT! Keep up the good work guys.
A lovely cosy place to have a well made cocktail. The drinks are always on point except for the maple bacon one, the bacon was cold and had a film of dried up grease on it. In saying that, its the one and only cocktail I don't like. We've pretty much ordered everything on the menu and they are scrumptious. Table service is a big plus and the comfy armchairs are great! Ordered nibbles a few times and they were decent
Two words: arancini balls. They're enough to get me there over and over again. ❤️ Other options are slightly hit and miss but it's a nice venue for an after work drink with extensive drinks list. Buzzing on weekends and great for small groups! I'll be back ...
So admittedly, we only indulged on a few of the "small bites"..... but like all things, good things come in small packages. Adding to the food the beverage list is very good; comprehensive without being overwhelming. The live music was fantastic and the sound level was perfectly balanced throughout the establishment. The service is prompt and friendly. For a great night out, give The Laneway a go....
Love, love, love this place. Great atmosphere, awesome cocktail list, ĺlive music and friendly staff. Great on a weekday for a chilled out drink or a weekend to get the night started. This is definitely one of Perth's best places
Pictured: honey roasted pumpkin, grilled courgette , semi dried tomato and Persian feta tart, basil pesto. So for someone who is supposed to be on a budget and limit the amount of times I eat out and how much I spend, I have not been doing a very good job, particularly this month or shall I say this past week. Not only did I eat out with my family and friend (see previous posts) but I also had a social club event on Friday to attend. The social club event was organised through my work and was a 3 course meal with wine pairing. It would have costed $90 for plus ones to attend with the wine pairing or $60 for just the 3 course meal. I was really looking forward to this event and had not been to The Laneway Lounge before. It’s tucked away in an alley way or ‘laneway’ in the city. Inside, it was very fancy – with mismatched chairs and had a very vintage look to the place and chilled atmosphere. The girls and I planned to have a ‘girls night out’ and we were quite impressed. The cocktail menu is extensive with interesting choices however price wise they were a little bit more on the expensive side. We were seated in the private function room area with live music.
Lovely place to go for dinner with friends or casual drinks. We went on a Wednesday night when it was relatively quiet (compared to the packed weekends). The staff were absolutely lovely, the live music was great, and the unique range of cocktails was a highlight. We also had a very lovely dessert that looked beautiful and tasted great! Compliments to the chef! Only downfall is that it is quite pricey. Definitely worth it though!
I can't help but have a soft spot for The Laneway Lounge, the Edison light bulbs, romantic decor and jazz music completely suckered me in before I'd even seen the food or cocktail menu.
The food menu has all the good things; fried, cheesy, meaty, but less exceptional than the drinks list. The kitchen is open late too (hallelujah right Perth?).

Went on a tuesday night for a friends bday! Was really impressed with the decor and style of the place! Drinks were good! My partner really liked the eagle bay beer! We got the pork doughnuts and lamb ribs! Both very delicious! Especially the doughnuts! Price is a big high! But its the city so u have to expect it i suppose! And id def say id go again foe a special occasion!
Awesome cocktails and vibe! Delicious tapas(pork belly donuts-oh my goodness!!!) Only let down was being seated on the side of the bar where there was no one else and hard to get a waiters attention. Loads of tables left around the live music which we would preferred. But thankfully the lemon...
Nice vibe, OK service, awesome cocktails, decent food and a funky interior. This is a great place to start the night. Try the lemon meringue and the maple bacon Manhattan cocktails!
The food is amazing ! Got the chorizo and baguette with truffle butter, prawn popcorn, ribs and highly recommend ! The strawberry and champagne martini is to die for! One of my favourite places in perth :)
Great concept bar, extensive cocktail menu and wonderful atmosphere! Another great small bar of Perth. Live music playing but doesn't take away from the intimate atmosphere. Can recommend.
Really had an enjoyable date night!! Booked a table at 7.00pm which by then was already quite busy. The waiter sat us down right in front of the stage where a live act was about to start. Ordered some share plates including the chorizo, dumplings and the aranchini balls. They were all delicious particularly the chorizo which was packed full of flavour! The arancini balls were also great. Overall the share plates were able to fill us up when paired with some drinks. The atmosphere was great and buzzing. The live singer/guitarist was amazing! Only downsides would probably be the level of noise coming from the bar and the lighting as it was too dim in some parts of the restaurant. Had to communicate with the hubby through raised voices. Do not come here if you are looking for a romantic and chilled date night!
Nice atmosphere good place to chill out and have a few cocktails with friends. Food is very average and drinks and food are a little pricey.
Fantastic vibe with great food to match, simple tapas with a slight twist and take on some. Overall an enjoyable experience as a whole. That's something that some bars lack in, i will be returning.
Fantastic vibe, with mismatched chairs and couches making a funky intimate setting. Absolutely amazing drinks list - cocktails and a huge range of crafted gin and tonics.
Saturday night out at Laneway Lounge, shared the entree platter with 2 others. Good value and tasty food, although avoid if you are trying to reduce fried food intake! Decided next time we would order favourite bites instead as we left quite a lot uneaten. Nice cocktails, nice vibe, good service.
Went here for dinner tonight. Great funky atmosphere... Lighting is great, live Jazz band was excellent, the service was brilliant, and the food was excellent for taste. I took half a point off because the desserts are far too small. For $18.00... I personally wouldn't bother again. They looked fantastic, tasted great except they are just way too small. I took another half point off because after we had such a small dessert we thought we would have a coffee. "Sorry we don't do coffee's" hmmm, great atmosphere, great service, great lighting, great food... Nothing on the plate for dessert, and no coffees. I gave this place a 4, I just don't think I'll be back. If someone reports decent desserts in the future I could be persuaded. I really did like the jazz band atmosphere.
Love this place. Laid back but still keeps the touch of royalty. Plus the food is yuuuuum! The only downside maybe is the quantity although quality is goood. Keep it coming. :)
Visited for Saturday dinner. I really like the setting and live music. I like the creative food which makes me want to go back. The down side was $38 for a meat plate which was very small but just avoid this and you will enjoy.
This place is tucked away at a laneway, fitting to its name perfectly. Dimly light for pub ambience. They do have a live band playing as well.
Nicely decorated. Unique coffee
Tables.
The prices are a little above average. But they got a cool collection of cocktails. Tried one that is served in a tea pot and tea cups. Great option to share. I had brightened up ten pictures so that readers can see clearer. They served tapas food. Chicken Popcorns are nice.
Good alternative for a new place to check out in Perth.
Yum yum yum. Great drinks and great cocktails! We enjoyed nibbles a cocktails on a cold Friday evening. There is no longer the spicy watermelon margarita which made me sad.
A diamond in the rough.. Friday night 6.3.15 I was socialising at The Laneway Lounge drinking water and with no intention of eating.
However, I was approached by a most polite staff member (quite a tall man) who prompted me to look at the Laneway's menu and after listening to my wants –something not too heavy with protein and salad- guided me to the "Something Small" section of the menu.
I chose the Sticky pork belly with chorizo, hen's egg, spinach and sweet smoked paprika for $18. It arrived in good time on a board which complemented the wooden tall table I was standing at with friends.
I did sit down on the high stools to eat. Luckily I did as I was nearly swooning at the taste experience. The pork was smoky and tender and complemented by egg just right, chorizo not too strong, beautifully fresh salad and a dressing that was delicately tart, sweet and flavoursome marrying everything together effortlessly.
Afterwards, I sent my compliments back to the chef via the same staff member who introduced me to this delight. Later in the evening, when visiting the ladies' room, I passed the kitchen (unlike the food, it was very basic and stark) and couldn't help going in to directly compliment the chef and assistants.
The chef deserves the highest commendation.
A very cool little bar, but without pretentious staff. Beautiful decor. Very decent menu and quite an extensive drinks list. Have visited here twice, both times about 5pm Sunday, it's very classy, but still has a friendly feel.
Wish we could have stayed longer. Popped in with a friend for a quick bite on a Friday night before some shopping.
They squeezed us in - I think we got the last table available towards the back of the bar.
Extensive cocktail list. I had the lipstick martini which was cute.
We shared popcorn chicken & duck sliders which were amazing. Also ordered doughnut pork belly which we didn't really enjoy.
Had a live band playing very close to us which made it hard to chat - would have been better closer to the entrance but we were only really there for an hour.
Will definately come back
The laneway lounge is exactly what you might expect- in a lane. The painted carpet leading to the entrance is a glimpse of the fun to follow.
We arrived at 18:00 to secure enough seating for the seven if us, as they didn't take bookings. After grabbing some delightfully styled pews we soaked up the upmarket grand ol south styled decor and fired off a cocktail order.
The menu is expansive and caters for all tastes, with the likes of Maple bacon Mahattans, Glenmorangie scotch, punch and a tropical wonder served in a tiki mug. We certainly tried all that was liquid on this fine evening in the quest to determine the best liquor, with my favorite being the Manhattan. The deft hand at work here shows maturity and restraint, with all cocktails being well received.
Like the drinks menu the food isn't to sheed away from either, with all the small bites you could ask for. God dang it those polenta chips and dipping sauce are crunchy on the outer with a velvety smooth inner, and were ordered a few times! The one item that didn't quite hit the mark was the donut pork belly. The sweetness from the maple syrup overpowered the pork, and really required some saltiness to balance the dish.
The decor even gets it's own little mention here. The styling is right on cue, with even the finite detail attended too. The studded high backs with stag print are a master stroke, with magic continuing in the bathroom. The trough like basin compliments the theme found throughout. Oh, and where do I buy those light bulbs!!
The table service was attentive and efficient. The crew that looked after us were right on the money, without a worry in the world. A scantly clad bunch took the booth next to us which drew away some of the service, but the service manager certainly went put of his way to even it out :)
Overall a stunning 6 hours was spent in the Laneway, and I would do it again in a heartbeat. Make sure you get in very early if you want a seat though, and prepare yourself for a stunning night.
Food 8/10 service 9/10 decor 10/10
Drinks 9.5/10
Jazz. Enjoyed drinks and the jazz ambience. Downside is that it's quite noisy and so small.
This place rocks!!!. Went there to watch a jazz band play on a Wednesday night.
The food was great, we had the truffle toasties and pizza bites to start followed by the creamy gnocchi with mushroom and asparagus.
Drinks, service, and band were also top notch.
Really great place with good atmosphere and quick food service for a busy Friday night. Food was amazing and the pork belly donuts are to die for. Would definitly go back again.
Amazing. Just went in for a quick beer before a dinner reservation the other night. Our waiter was lovely and helpful and very professional. A rare occurrence in Perth unfortunately. This fact alone, we will be back! Thanks Laneway.
At last I had my chance to visit this venue. It was a Friday night and I almost left it too late to get a seat without booking (when we left there was a queue !). Fortunately the lovely staff found a good spot :) . I was only there for a quick bite and a drink and to get a feel for the place. The (beef) parmigiana burger was more than I could manage and the fatty chips were...well...fat !
Great place to drink, nibble and shout at your friends (a little noisy for regular talk - but, hey, what do you expect from a popular bar?).
When I am not driving I would love to sample some of the awesome cocktails I kept seeing being brought out to the tables (I swear one was in a teapot!!)
Amazing ambience and atmosphere during the live dining lounge. The cocktails were lovely and the fondant was delicious.
EARL GREY & MANDARIN SOUR. The Earl Grey and Mandarin Sour - amazing cocktail. Have never had anything like it before, try it!!!
We came here for first time for a pre dinner cocktail and loved what we saw. Cocktails were great and bar staff engaging and helpful. Love the live music. We walked in and heard a man on the piano singing it had to be you. Love this song! Finally a place in perth where you can dine with this sort of live music. Only thing missing is s dance floor for a slow dance in between courses. Spewing we had dinner plans elsewhere. But we will be back and settle in for the night
Went last night, absolutely gorgeous bar. The two cocktails I had were a little slow to come out, but they we're the nicest cocktails I've had in ages. Sat in the dining area for a meal, service was excellent ,music was great. Main meals just ok. Would highly recommend this place for drinks and nibbles, will be going back.
Simply superb. Rocked up on Friday evening without a booking and after a short wait we were let in. We mentioned it was a special occasion and the staff really looked after us. A table near the stage was found for us and the musicians were great. Add the beautiful food, cocktails and attentive service and a superb night was had.
Will absolutely be back with friends for another night out.
Fantastic. What a cool find. None of the pretense of the Ellington, which is such a nice blessing. Cool music and amazing staff. It is a pricey place, but it's perfect if you're wanting to indulge because they make you feel very special. I love the lounge area, and the Earl Grey cocktail is just sublime. Like the food, but the range is small. This is a great place for a few drinks, a date night or a birthday hang out. Love it!
Loved it, beautiful interior. We ordered dessert. Omg the custard tart was sensational - it was deconstructed which I wasn't expecting but the best dessert I've ever had. Must try it.
Great place to head to for drinks and bites. Drinks menu, extensive and features a lineup of interesting mixes and presentation is top class. Live music gets pretty loud and but acts are good. I wouldn't recommend dinner here- noisy/ pricey/busy.
Three girlfriends and I headed here on Thursday night after dinner at Jamie's. Such a good find! Awesome little atmosphere, amazing decor, loved the little booths (Bali style) and great service. Wine wasn't badly priced (Its about time some people just accepted Perth is expensive!) and the live music was a really lovely addition. Will return
Love the food and live music!
It is better to go any other day than Friday I though as the wait is too long.
Love the interior. The drinks are divine. I literally want to try everything on the menu. Favorite so far is the Earl Grey drink.
Soooooo good. I went here the other night with a few friends for a drink and a snack and we were blown away. the decor, the set up, the entertainment, the service and THE FOOD! We ordered literally everything on the tapas bar and it was all sensational, the BEST arancini balls ive ever tasted. Not a very extensive wine list but we still managed to find a very nice bottle which we sipped on whilst listening to the pianist bust out Elton John classics, we were then escorted to one of the little booths where we ordered the cheese platter whch was absolutely delicious. The only down side is that it closes at midnight which is ridiculous for a mid city bar on a Saturday night but hey that is Perth for you..
Special Spot. Nice hang out place. Food and drinks were fast. Standard price. Presentation on drinks is very thoughtful, food quality was good. Everything i ordered was nice. will love to come back for another visit.
Recommend:
-Bubble Gum Sour
-Earl Grey & Mandarin Sour
-Lipstick Martini
-Arancini w truffle & parmesan
Promising!. Great little place, we dined at the stage area with soothing voice of the pianist complementing his own music. Service was efficient ; it was quiet tonight.
Food and drinks are good too, yes pricey but cocktails are the same price elsewhere. We had lamb ribs, arancini, fat chips, chorizo -all which were nice but pork belly dish was a bit dry though all above average.
Ambience is ok. Lights are a bit dim for dining.
Still , a promising place. Great addition to the city!
Excellent new bar. I had the pleasure of visiting this new bar for a couple of drinks and tapas with my wife on the 27/07/2013. The service was fantastic albeit it was quiet when we arrived. The food quality of the tapas was excellent. The sizes and the number of pieces for each of the meals perfectly reflected tapas servings. I definitely recommend the arancini balls with truffle and Parmesan. The cocktails were also unique and flavorsome. One thing that I was pleased to hear is their kitchen is open until around 11:30 which suits me for the late night dinner after work. Will definitely be coming back.
Shhh, don't tell anyone about this place! Great cocktails, food and jazzy vibe. Staff were fantastic as well. Will be heading back soon.
Nice atmosphere, live band. Food is delicious. Cocktail was very nice. Bar tender very friendly. Better make bookings. Suitable for ladies over 35.
Great little place with awesome music, tasty tapas and a classy vibe. Wednesdays are 'endless tapas' for $49, so be sure to stop in!
Great cocktails, service was a little bit slow.
Food was great quality & very tasty
Would defiantly come back.
Lovely hidden place. Great selections of drinks. Good was fantastic, especially Lamb rack.
Stumbled upon this little gem. We had no idea what we wanted to eat.....the tasting platter was amazing. We will definitely be back
Thanks
Great bar, with an exciting and unique range of cocktails.
I love coming here for diner and live music.
They have amazing food and some unique drink mixes.
They change their menu seasonally. My favorite cocktail to this day is the nutella, I hope they bring it back.
The staff is always so friendly and work really well in such a busy environment. In saying that, it can take a while to get a drink at the bar (but its sometimes worth the wait). If you are having a sit down meal you can order them through your waitress.
