Had a delicious lunch at luxsmith yesterday. The food was a Thai/Vietnamese fusion and it really hit the spot. It was great value for the serving sizes and between the four of us we ordered a wide selection from the menu. No dish disappointed! The goat curry and miso eggplant were particular favorites. I would definitely recommend saving room for desert because the caramelized cardamon rice pudding was delicious! Our waiter, Andy, was highly professional and very friendly. He was very willing to spend the time talking through the menu and provided some great recommendations. I can confidently say that luxsmith is a great addition to the area and one everyone should try! You will surely enjoy your luxsmith experience. We definitely did!
Where to start? 8 people, 3 pescetarians, 1 vegetarian coeliac & all requirements catered for with the 'we do the deciding for you' menu. What a feast! Beautifully presented party in your mouth knockout food. Attentive service with great humour. And the Lucky Dip wine option certainly didn't disappoint. Looking forward to a return visit after a diet & a bit of a lie down... Thanks Luxsmith for a memorable evening.
Really friendly waitress, accommodating chef (cooked us up a steak even though I think it was pretty much closing time), even got a free bar snack for the mix up in kitchen time. Lovely atmosphere.
Will come back for:
+ Fried rice with salmon
+ Curry fish
This place exudes modern charm. And the menu seemed a confused mix of Asian flavors. But when the dishes arrive, all of them tasted great and was well spiced. Everything was well cooked with great balance of flavors. We particularly liked the fried rice and was surprised by the use of basmati rice. And the curry fish had a sour edge to it that made it sing. We also shared the banana pancake but the taste of the bananas was a bit subdued in this case. Service was great. Prices above average but worth it. Will be back!
Had a private function of 40+
Andy & the team were amazing. The food was absolutely delicious, great space & everyone had a fantastic time. Will definitely be back.
Love the food and atmosphere here. The raw Ocean trout was refreshing complimenting the fresh herbs and salad dressing. The lamb ribs and beef cheeks was simply delicious. The papaya salad was fresh and had a good luck of heat from the chilli. Definitely recommend this little gem for some Asian fusion cuisine.
Think pan-roasted scallops with green curry dressing, coconut sambal, crustacean oil and tapioca cracker by Luxsmith, salmon croquettes from Bottega and tea cocktails and mocktails from Sofitel Melbourne as well as desserts such as mango cheesecake with cream cheese foam, shortbread crumble, mango salsa with mango and lime ice cream from No. 35.
Such a great experience at luxsmith, loved the food, service was amazing. Highly recommend the soft shell crab bao, beautiful wine and the chicken was incredible.
The place gives the feel of a modern Asian cafe. Staff was super friendly and all the dishes had good taste to them. Worth a visit!
Dishes ordered: Sweet Potato croquettes, Massaman Curry, Green Papaya Salad, Chinese broccoli and rice.
This was our second visit and it was even more interesting (both food and wine) than the last visit of 12 months ago. We enjoyed the New Years Eve set course menu. It was like a United Nations dinner, drawing from flavours across the world. A bold approach and it worked well. Started with grilled lemon grass prawns; the spicy duck rolls with a lovely plum sauce. The Kingfish sashimi was as good as I’ve had in Japan. The Korean beef cheeks melted in your mouth and went well with the McLaren Vale Shiraz available by the glass. The Asian roasted vegetables were finished with a beautiful sweet soy glaze. The two deserts were a coconut kafir lime Panna Cotta and a light Tiramisu soaked in Vietnamese coffee and sake. Unusual but again it worked. It was a pleasure to simply trust the chef who put together an innovative set of dishes that complemented each other superbly. The wines are from small , interesting wineries in Australia, France, Italy and Spain. A wonderful evening. Great service without being intrusive. We’ll definitely be back.
Great selection of food and drinks that is sure to satisfy everyone. The Kerala fish curry was amazing, the duck spring rolls were great, the sticky ribs were succulent- great atmosphere- highly recommend!
This was our third trip to Luxsmith which is a good sign to begin with. We went with friends & chose the easy option of the luxsmith & chill (feed me menu) a great selection of starters but my favourites were the curries they were delicious.
Service was great as was the atmosphere & decor. Love a good asian fusion & the fact this is in seddon not cbd is perfect location.
Delicious food, lovely atmosphere. Service was great. Definitely would dine here again!
Ok.
Food was nice.
But too long between courses for me.
I was nearly falling asleep before the last plates were served.
One of my top 5 restaurants in the Inner West. Whether it is a special occasion, group get together or intimate date this is just a great place to go. The food is delicious, every single time. The staff are super friendly, and the vibe is just perfect. Love love love it!
Recently moved to Seddon and checked out Luxsmith with the family on Tuesday night. It was amazing!
It is a gorgeous venue with lovely staff and the food exceeded our expectations.
The crispy duck was incredible and I actually think it was the best duck I have ever had. I will be back for more !
Excellent food selection. Friendly service. The soft shell crab bao are to die for. We sat outside which was great as it gets VERY loud inside. The 90 minute dining window was perfect for us and was enabled by the service. One of my favourite local spots.
