Review Social Brew Cafe - Sydney

Rani J
Had a really good breakfast here on the weekend. It was busy and a social hub, and service was great. The coffee was good, as was the breakfast! Good portion size. The black truffle oil, mushrooms and Parmesan on sourdough bruschetta with poached eggs was delicious and filling. Would recommend.

You know why this is the most popular cafe around this area, and no, not because it's one of the fewer cafes on this locality but the coffee they serve is GREAT. Absolutely loved the cold brew they serve. Out of the food the smoked salmon was a bit disappointing for the way it was described on the menu...lacked the quality of being exceptional. Also, we couldn't taste any Zatar in it The Mediterranean Lamb stew was out of this world. If we had our way we would definitely rate it at 4.5 /5 for everything including a very pretty and friendly attendant who found us a spot sooner than usual....and gave us the best service.

Such a vibe in Pyrmont. The outdoor seating section is fantastic on a pleasant day. Easy street parking, beautiful food, even better cocktails! đŸ€Ș The atmosphere is on point as is everything else! Amazing menu. Would return in a heartbeat! đŸ™ŒđŸœ

Fantastic café, wit friendly and happy crew, always smiling. The waiter, Justin, was exceptionally good and attentive. The coffees are excellent and our breakfast was very tasty. For me, the icing on the cake was the indoor heater, which made my stay very comfortable, as I get cold very easily. Well done, keep up the GREAT work. Richard & Recky.

Sundays are made for brunching. Well, in our case.. late brunching! We all know how hard it's been on the hospitality industry lately, so it was great to see the place busy when we arrived. Even though staff were running around for service, we were still welcomed warmly and looked after from the moment we were seated through to when we left. We really appreciated that. First thing I wanted to order was the 'Mushroom & Parmesan Bruschetta'. This had black truffle oil, soft poached free range eggs and crĂšme fraĂźche on white sourdough bread. Their servings on this was very generous which of course meant that it was going to be loaded with flavour. It was just beautiful! The other savoury dish we ordered was the 'Wagyu Beef Burger'. Most wagyu burgers I order have 'the lot' but this one had the burger patty, house made bourbon & bacon bbq sauce, cheddar cheese caramelised onion and lettuce. Loved how smoky and rich this was and it was great to see the patty cooked as it should, which is medium. PS; the fries that came with this were SO GOOD! For a sweeter dish, we ordered the 'Ricotta Hotcakes' with maple marinated strawberries and pistachio butter. This was my favourite dish. The hotcakes were soft, hot and fluffy. Side note, you can order this with maple bacon. We didn't do it this time round, but I think it would taste incredible so I'll do it next time! Aaaaand we ordered a couple of boozy beverages. I had the 'Bloody Harissa Mary' because hello, Bloody Marys! Yep, it was freakn' refreshing and delicious.

Went for lunch on last day of the year, their food was normal like any other cafe, but their customer service was outstanding. All the staff were so energetic. Three stars are definitely for their customer service.

My partner and I had come to this cafe for a breakfast on Saturday. We've tried to go here before but it is often busy in the morning during the peak breakfast hours. I had gotten the Loaded Double Double and my partner got the Free Range Eggs on Sourdough with Avocado added. We both very much enjoyed what we had ordered, the staff are very pleasant and the cafe had a nice atmosphere/vibe. The Loaded Double Double was almost like a fancy ham and cheese croissant and would definitely order this again and recommend it!

Posting this after a week in Sydney and can say that the coffee we had here is probably one of the best. The mushroom toast was also delicious and our only regret is that we didn't come here more during our vacation!

A great place with a relaxing atmosphere and location. Breakfast, brunch or lunch the food hits the spot. What makes this place a must visit is the friendly staff and perfect service. 10/10.

ïżœïżœïżœWe stopped for a quick bite on Sunday, we were both shattered after moving house all week. I was sick with tiredness and the staff kept checking that we were ok and really looked after us despite originally buying takeaway as we were too tired to cue up and thought we’d take our food to go. Thank you for your care and attention and for looking after us both with your lovely food and coffee. You made our house move just a little easier. ïżœ

Highly recommend! The food is amazing, the service is excellent and super friendly staff!
Paul Murray
Amazing, had the ham and cheese toastie and poached eggs on toast. Everything was perfect and then finished it off with the banana bread. Service was great, there was a line but it moved quickly and staff were friendly and efficient. Will be going back for sure!!

Friendly helpful staff who knew the menu, great coffee and loved the mushroom bruschetta. Fantastic! Go there!

This place is up there with the Common Man Coffee Roasters in S’pore and Snooze in Denver. One of the very best.

Coffee , eggs benedict on brioche absolutely delicious , friendly staff highly recommend

The food was utterly amazing that we came back the next morning for another amazing breakfast. Coffee is delightful and the service is amazing. We are coming back tomorrow and we would thoroughly recommend this beautiful Cafe!

Social Brew Cafe is located on Harris Street in Pyrmont, and I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of street parking available (although this was a quiet Sunday morning – I doubt this would be the same case during the working week). It was a chilly and windy morning, and unfortunately we had to sit outside because we had our puppy with us. Aside from it blowing a gale, the visit was enjoyable and the staff were attentive. We ordered two flat whites for our drinks. For food, we ordered Eggs on Sourdough with Baked Beans, Wilted Spinach and Roasted Tomato and Wood Smoked Salmon Benedict. Our eggs were runny (how they should be) but there to be bit too much excess oil. Overall, it was good.

Had breakfast Saturday morning. Great eggs. Fantastic coffee. Wonderful friendly service. Very reasonably priced. So good I took my wife back Sunday morning. Outstanding again. Slow cooked beans and eggs ïżœ perfect for a hangover. My new breakfast place when I visit Sydney.

Been here once..great food but the coffee was sexually insane best one so far ^^ the owner of the cafe was very generous and all the staff were pleasant. Good stuff. I will be back. ïżœïżœ

A lovely cafe in Pyrmont, great food at reasonable prices. Excited to visit again!

đŸ„ž Ricotta hotcakes maple marinated strawberries with pistachio butter ($16)
🍳 Slow cooked Great Northern beans in a rich tomato and red pepper base, soft poached eggs, spiced beef sausage and beer & barley rye soldiers ($18)

The ricotta hotcakes weren't too sweet, even after drowning it in maple syrup. I loved the pistachio butter, it added a smooth and crunchy texture. The eggs are a fantastic savoury option, smelt and tasted delicious! ⠀
Samira
Easily my favourite cafe in Pyrmont !! Apart from the wonderful service they provide, the food is consistently high quality and tasty every single time whether you’re ordering through uber eats or directly from the cafe. I personally love their cappuccinos — it’s the perfect ratio of coffee to milk which isn’t always the case in other cafes. I would highly recommend the ricotta hot cakes, they are to die for! The social brekkie roll is another favourite of mine. It consists of only few ingredients but immediately hits the spot from the very first bite. I can’t wait to explore everything else on their menu! 😊

One of the best places to go for a brunch!

This cafe was right behind my hotel, me and my sister discovered this place while detouring the roads, so glad we found this cute place, we loved their food and kama chai sutra, we always went for our breakfast for our entire 3 day stay in Sydney
Will definitely visit them on my next holiday
Your roasted eggplant in lunch menu is best 😘

The ‘Slow cooked lamb tagine’ with labne (Middle Eastern Greek yogurt/yogurt cheese). The ‘Slow cooked Great Northern beans’.The drinks ‘Crimson Punch Iced tea’ and ‘Blueberry maple’ shake.
- This is one of my favourite brunch spots I recommend. The food is always tasty and flavourful.
- For the lamb tagine, I wish that they put more labne. I asked for more because it wasn’t enough for me and they happily gave me extra.
- The drinks were both refreshing. My favourite was the ‘Blueberry maple’ shake, it was so nice and creamy.
- The customer service is welcoming & attentive. The atmosphere is warm and friendly. This cafe is also dog-friendly.

The ‘Ricotta hotcakes, maple marinated strawberries with pistachio butter’. You can choose to add bacon to it.
-The hotcakes are beautifully presented and delicious. The hotcakes did not taste heavy and it was not too sweet either which is perfect. I love that you can adjust the sweetness since they give the maple syrup on the side. Overall, I enjoyed it and would recommend it.đŸ“đŸ„ž

The crab tacos is on my top list now!
5 mins walk from my work place and Nice cafe to go

The waitress forgot my order and after 20mins I have to ask for my dish. But it is really tasty and overweight the mistake : 

An exceptionally little however well known treat shop. I took a 50min train ride with my companions following a difficult day just to taste the well known treats. The treats were stacked with fixings and were very enormous. Only one of them was sufficient to he filling. The representatives were benevolent too. Be that as it may, the treats were unreasonably sweet for me.
The Next Rush
It’s a popular choice for casual client meetings from the nearby Google and Fairfax offices. Our third visit, this time at 7am in the morning on a Sunday and consistently full of people from the time it opens. Easy options and crowd pleasers season after season during our team’s repeated visits, are executed with colour bursts and freshness. Social Brew was a welcome break from the 4km hike through the city on a recent visit to the Manifest Australia health symposium, it was also a great opportunity to explore Darling Harbour and the Fish Markets taking a bit of scenic walk to Harris Street.
Betterresult
Service was friendly and attentive, however about a 25 min wait for our dishes.

Mushroom and parmesan bruschetta - bread was soft, was a bit salty in some parts. Smoked salmon and avo dish was alright.

Beetroot, ginger and carrot juice had strong ginger (which is good as other places you can't taste the ginger at all) but the melting ice diluted it halfway.

Ricotta hotcakes seemed more like pancakes, but were okay.
The Miniature Life
Friday lunches are always a great time for me to explore Sydney and it’s fabulous food options across the CBD. This time I ventured back out to Pyrmont to try an incredibly popular brunch spot - Social Brew Cafe. The menu online looked fantastic and with it being a walking distance from work
I couldn’t say no!

Came here with family. Lovely set up and friendly staff. Accommodating to requests for toddlers food to come out as soon as possible and overheard them accommodating people’s request for multiple menus changes! Great surrounds for kid to run around! Delicious ricotta hot cake and social breakkie roll.
Evaliveinsydney
Cosy setup and like the indoor, and the outdoor area in a sunny day is even better. Food is divine! Service is good and fast. Highly recommended and planned to go with some friends again.

One of the few places my husband and I have order sides because we usually don't get enough that we don't end up finishing. So filling, so delicious. Walked away hunger quenched full!! Can't recommend it enough!!
Carriechan0314
Ordered smoke salmon, avocado, poach egg with flat bread. Big portion with nice taste!

Also, the green blend smoothie is awesome! Not too sweet.

Staffs are friendly and saw the burgers ordered by other customers are very attractive also. Definitely will come back to try their burger and coffee.

Very nice place for brunch!
Great food. I'd been craving an 'Aussie' breakfast after a few weeks overseas, and the pleasant team at Social Brew delivered it in record time! Their Mushroom Bruschetta is delicious topped with poached eggs and parmesan. I added the avocado for a green fix.

Easily the best cafe in the Pyrmont area. I love the food and coffee here. Lack of seating for its level of popularity means you often have to wait for a table. But other than that, food is fantastic and coffee is superb. I recommend the pancakes and their cold brew.
Kriti
Visited for a lazy Sunday brekkie and must admit, wasn’t disappointed at all.Loved their ricotta hotcakes served with pistachio butter and strawberries along with the golden syrup. The hashbrowns were also really gud.Definitely visiting again when am craving pancakes!!
Every Crumb
Very conveniently located in the heart of Pyrmont is this great little cafe. With their whole menu (breakfast and lunch) on offer from open to close, you pretty spoiled for choice.

I've had a few of their breakfast dishes previously and have left happy, the lunch options do the same. Pork belly was juicy and crispy, with a great combo of flavours, and the soft shell crab was great.
Prida
Took my family for brunch on Easter Monday. Saw the limited edition Easter menu and tried both Easter specials: one savoury and one sweet. The savoury one came with a very nice presentation which looks like a bird’s nest made of crispy enoki. Tastes as good as it looks (although didn’t finish the beetroot balsamic pickle egg as wasn’t used to having sour eggs). The Easter hotcakes plate was equally beautiful, was good but more one the sweet side. Too heavy for brunch. Might come back to try other menu.

Delicious breakfast food! Loved the smoothies and coffee here as well. My personal favourite would be the Crab Tacos. Great location in Pyrmont Sydney with the friendliest staff. Highly recommend going on a nice day out with friend/family.

I visited the place along with some clients ,loved the vibe, the mushroom sandwich served was very delicious, cakes were also great . Although espresso can do with some improvement . Fast service can easily accommodate a group of 4-5 people

This outlet is simply awesome. The ambiance is great & the service is really nice. The coffee is to die for, Ice Latte is delicious.
I had ordered the Mushroom and parmesan bruschetta it was mouth watering .
I would definitely try to visit the outlet again during my next visit to Australia

Have brunch in here always great!! Twist of mediteranean fusion cafe! Love how creative they made the soft shell crab and the lamb kofta. Full of flavor and friendly staffs. Must try this place.
Felipe HormazĂĄbal
I loved this place, the cafe is great located in front of a small park so you can seat outside next to the park if you want specially during the summer. Really good selection of sandwiches and salads perfect for a weekend brunch. Australian fusion food, good desserts, tasty coffee as always and wonderful staff.

Bustling cafe in the heart of Pyrmont, probably most well-known for their M&M Spill (please bring this back :P). I visited Social Brew Cafe for lunch and was greeted with a packed café and accommodating staff.

I ordered the Soft Shell Crab Tacos ($18) and the Slow Cooked Lamb Tagine ($20). For drinks I had the Blueberry and Lime Organic Soda ($7) and the Watermelon, Lychee and Mint Frappé ($7).

Absolutely loved the tacos which not only looked enticing but also tasted amazing! Little bit of spice added a kick and a squeeze of lemon made for a perfect dish. The lamb tagine was an interesting dish and a little tricky to eat but well worth the effort. The lamb in the Moroccan inspired dish had a beautiful texture and was well complemented by the chickpea couscous, labne and crispy flatbread.

Drinks were decent though some flavours didn't seem to come through. Out of the two drinks, I probably preferred the frappé though it seemed to be more like watermelon juice than a frappé.

From my previous visit, I particularly enjoyed the Chicken Breast Burger, especially with the mango ginger chutney. I also liked the pomegranate and elder flower organic soda however this drink doesn't appear to be available anymore.

My thanks to Social Brew Café and CPM for the invite.

If you'd like to read more of my reviews, please check out my zomato page and visit @cynthiaeats_ on Instagram for more photos!

It doesn't matter how many times I stop for a coffee or breakfast or brunch, Social Brew is consistently excellent. It is near a busy intersection but has a relaxed and welcoming feel to it, being next to a park and shaded by large trees. The staff are great and the food and coffee delicious.

This cafe never disappoints me every time i visit. It became one of my favorite cafe in Sydney because of its convinient location ( plenty of street parking there) delicious, healthy and beautifully plated brekki and lunch. I always liked the signature deli plate and their coffee. This time I tried Roasted Eggplant, it was delicious...
Nabeela Caunhye
Great Café atmosphere, great food, great service! We stopped by for an early brunch on Saturday morning and settled on the eggs benedict and crab tacos. The eggs benedict were a little bland but nothing a little salt and pepper couldn't fix, and the crab tacos were perfect although the sauce might be a bit strong for some. While they had plenty to choose from on the drink menu, we decided to kick start the day with an espresso martini and a blueberry gin fizz, both of which did the job and both of which were delicious in their own right.
If you are thinking of stopping by during peak hours I would definitely recommend calling in advance as seating is extremely limited.

Feelin’ so incredible for having brunch at @socialbrewcafe đŸ€žđŸ» I ordered ‘Market fish charcoal burger’, Soft shell crab tacos, Watermelon frappeĂ©, Choc hazelnut smoothies🍔🌼🌰🍉 Diet always start tomorrow! 😆

Saturday brunch in socialbrewcafe 💋
Crab tacos, trout salad, green blend- avocado smoothies, and fresh carrot ginger lemon juice.
Love to sit here btw. Specially outside. Just feel like good atmosphere !!!!

Perfect brunch spot in a very convenient location!
We went on Saturday and decided to enjoy the nice weather by sitting outside and sipping on a flat white and a chilled cold brew. Then, I tried the amazing ricotta hotcakes with marinated strawberries, pistachio butter and bacon and savored every bite of it! My husband ordered the crispy pork belly with grape and chilli chutney. Needless to say, he almost licked the plate!
Can't wait to go back next time with our pups!

I came last weekend for having breakfast and I really enjoyed eating here. Good service and the quality/price is really good.
Thinking about when it is going to be the next time I go to repeat for another great breakfast!

Multiple visits.

Crispy fried chook w fresh chilli snow pea n sesame salad 3.75/5
Slow cooked beans in tomato sauce m pepper base poached eggs beef sausage n barley rye bread 3.5/5
Mushroom n parmesan toast truffle oil poached eggs w creme fraiche 4/5
Crab taco w harissa mayo cawwot slaw n pickled chilli 3.5/5
Double double ‘double double’ smoked ham double cheddar n emmenthal w honey mustard on 5 grain bread 3.75/5

The epitome of service, quality offerings, decent portion size, efficiency. You know this is no ordinary cafe when on a drizzly sunday morning, Q was out the door, brekky AND lunch menu available (imagine the kitchen logistics). Despite being so hectic, floor manager beamed when greeting us, told us how long the wait is (which was eerily accurate). The toilet is accessible thru the kitchen, which was pumping like mad. Yet, back of house found the time to cheerfully acknowledged me as i needed to wash my hands (among other things😜). How dafuq they did it astounds me.

Bloody keep up the good work guys.
Montastic
Definitely one of the recommended brunch cafes in Sydney. They have outdoor seating and indoor seating area, we preferred outdoor seats as we could enjoy the nice view.
All of the food we ordered was really delicious including the fresh beetroot juice.
The coffee was quite nice.
The restaurant staff was really friendly and helpful.
CQL
The place was comfy , though it wasn’t big. espec We had brunch here. Smoked salmon one was tasty with plenty of veggies, the angus beef sandwich was great with the cheese melted on top of the meat, the salmon with poached egg was tasty. Hot mocha was nice and the juice tasted very healthy and fresh. Nice service.
Angehaha
Great food. Quick service. Variety on the menu.

I ordered the double double which was made so tasty with the type of melted cheese used.
And the wood smoked salmon Benedict was a great combo of flavours. A mustard based hollandaise made for something a little different. The brioche was soft and the salmon had a great subtle flavour.

Only let down is the location being right on a main road. Sitting outside there is a lot of road noise. You can try and tune it out, but it’s always there.
Alicia Wilson
Staff were very rude as I was getting a takeaway or and didn’t communicate well she just stuck up four fingers when I asked how much the water was. Very rude and didn’t treat me well, will not be visiting again! I was appalled!
Donna Zhang
Very pleasant experience, lovely atmosphere, friendly service, great dishes, and must try their smoothies and truffle fries !! Amazing coffee too!
JuYeethejoey
Came across this cafe when we were on a bus heading back to the hotel and was tempted to try this place out and so we did the next day. We ordered the smoked salmon benedict and soft shell crab taco for brunch. Food and coffee was great, lovely setting, wifi provided, such a cool place to have a relaxing brunch.
Eunifoodie
Awesome service but don’t really understand the all the hype about this cafe - it’s good but it’s not AMAZING. Wouldn’t mind coming again to try their other dishes though
Sandra Vouch
I booked this place this morning based on the reviews and we weren’t disappointed, the avocado and salmon (with the poached egg) was huge, but more importantly, delicious. Great coffee and prompt, friendly service.
Rachel From @sydneyfoodfeels
I’ve heard good things about this cafe so have always wanted to give it a try. My visit was pleasant and food was great. I really liked the mushroom with truffle oil on sourdough that I ordered. Definitely full of flavour. Also ordered one of their specials which is the Double Double. Definitely a large serving! Coffee was great too! Love cafes with cute latte art
FassionFruitGirl
Totally enjoyed the nice chai latte☕ and yum SMOKE SALMON & AVOCADO đŸ„‘ at @socialbrewcafe🍮wish I could spend more weekend mornings sitting at this cozy cornor with the Pyrmont street view.☁ #socialbrewcafe

Good food, good service, decent ambience.
The lamb tagine was really good, taste was subtle, meat was soft and the zucchini/chickpea couscous complimented the lamb and flat bread really well. The soft shell crab tacos and steak sandwich were 👌 the steak was perfectly medium rare and juicy and the soft shell crab was soft but crispy. Would definitely come back to try more if I was in the area, but not really a place I would go out of the way for. The highlight is the owner of the building’s dog.... he had his own chair and wandered around freely 😂😍
The Next Rush
Social brew cafe was busy on the Saturday morning we arrived for brunch. We were attended to immediately though, service was great through out. My food partner and I ordered the chicken burger with sweet potato fries and the Brew vego platter. Both came out super quick along with our drink orders! Can’t believe how efficient they are even though they were so busy. The chicken in the burger was tender and paired well with the mango ginger chutney, smoked emmental cheese and red carrot slaw. It wasn’t heavy and greasy. The sweet potato fries were soooooo goood! It came with some kind of spicy mayo aloili type dip. The brew vego platter consisted of corn and zuchinni fritters, spicy smoked labneh, crispy kale, and a pickled egg on a cucumber and dill salad. There were many firsts on this dish for me, like the crispy kale and the pickled egg. Thoroughly enjoyed the crispy kale, I already felt like a health guru who does 10k runs every morning whilst eating it. And how they make it so crispy! The pickled egg was interesting, it was a soft boiled egg encased in a pickled shell, it was super salty and tasted like an olive! Overall, loved it. Sat in the sunshine and enjoyed the meal and service.

Wagyu Beef Burger : 😁 Great
Chicken Breast Burger : 😊 Good
Green Blend Smoothie : 😁 Great
Blueberry Maple Shake : 😊 Good
Service : 😊 Good

Honestly I think I was too hyped up over Social Brew. It’s almost like your regular average cafe. Good food, good service and a good atmosphere but nothing fancy that sets it apart from the others. Good place to go to if you want to catch up with friends.
Manz
This cafe is really deserving of it high praises & great ratings. The staff were friendly & accommodating (there were some very picky diners next to us). The downside though was a 25 mins wait for lunch on Sunday. The vibe was relax & friendly so didn't mind the wait. The food was good. My pull pork salad with apple, fennel, radish & quinoa was fresh, healthy & tasty. The Sweet potatoes fries were very morish. My friend enjoyed his Double Double (ham & cheese toastie), but was still a bit peckish after it. Overall, great cafe & worth the wait.
Glenda
Tried the prawn burger and ricotta hot cakes on a Sunday morning (queue for a table wasn’t that long but recommend booking a table in advance). The prawn burger had a thick prawn paste patty and went really well with the wasabi mayo. However, the hot cakes were a bit of a let down; they didn’t have much flavour on their own. Decent cafe but not worth a second trip
Princess Greedy Guts
This corner cafe is packed during the week and on weekends. Offering a great menu selection that sounds and looks appetising and delectable, there is quite a bit of indoor and outdoor seating. If the cafe gets super busy which it usually does on the weekends, you can grab a rug from the cafe and sit on the grass area next to it and still enjoy your food and coffee. The coffee is well made and on this occasion I tried a couple of the sweet items for afternoon tea. Both were pleasent but nothing special. Would love to try the actual menu next time and reqlly enjoyed the lovely atmosphere and friendly service.
Panda Lover
A great winter morning with lovely food! Had the egg Benedict and really loved the wasabi flavour in kale! Very special! The coffee was good but the Super Food smoothie was out of my expectation. Cool staff and very quick service. A perfect brunch place to bring dogs along đŸ¶
Naveed Siddiqui
Had the flat white and days special monkfish burger (my friend had the eggs Benedict) the coffee was amazing and the food was good in flavor. Nice cozy place to go and grab a bite at.decent portions as well.
Michelle Li
What a surprise find this was! We were originally planning to have brunch at a cafe close to this place but there was a long line so we opted for this cafe. There was also a line for social brew but we didn’t wait too long for a seat. Despite the coldness, it was nice to soak in the sun and be seated outside. The food was great. We ordered the Salmon Benedict and the Slow Cooked beans, poached eggs and spiced beef sausage. Both tasted delicious! Service was also good and it’s what you expect of a decent cafe!
MealzxD
A pleasant cafe with actually tasty food ! I ordered the lamb tagine and was happy with the flavour of the dish. The lamb was tender, the chickpeas and quinoa were cooked well too. It was hearty and filling. Overall it lacked a bit of moisture in the mix. Acai smoothie was also delicious ! Service was quick and friendly. Would return if I was in the area.
Sydneyfooddude
Still one of my favourite brekky spots in Sydney :) I’ve been here a fair few times and can never fault the food. I went with the M&M SPILL - Waffles, Milk Chocolate, Ristretto, Salted caramel Chantilly .
Does My Bomb Look Big In This
Hugging the edge of a tiny park that’s pretty, despite being low on leaves in winter, Social Brew CafĂ© is nicer from the inside than it looks from the outside. The shiny metal, glass and grey paint exterior frames a mostly green vista. With plastic drapes protecting you from the wind, you can actually feel the warmth of the winter sun on your lily-white skin. Actually there's so much sun that five minutes into my recent al fresco lunch, I started wishing I’d brought my sunglasses. The second thing that sets this cafĂ© apart from its cafĂ© brethren is that it is licensed; making it just the ticket for a cheeky wine with lunch. Or, if you feel the need to balance your indiscretions, a booze-spiked freshly squeezed juice. We try out Watermelon Passionfruit and Pineapple with Sailor Jerry’s Rum ($12). It’s good, but I’d probably ask for them to use Ketel One Vodka next time because the delicate watermelon was dominated by the rum. I’ve got no complaints about...
Love At First Bite
Social Brew is a cafe in Pyrmont that serves a range of breakfast and lunch food. They also do alcoholic drinks on their menu, allowing for sneaky day drinking. We came here for brunch one weekend, keen to check it out. For our drinks we ordered the Watermelon passionfruit and pineapple juice. This was freshly made and so refreshing, I loved the different mix of fruits.
Sheree
Me and my friend come here quite often for their ricotta pancakes. They are absolutely divine. A lot of their dishes are and sometimes theres a wee wait / line on weekend mornings.
Sujoy Cherian
Nice ambience for breakfast with decent menu options. Food was good but the Coffee was ok... book a table on weekends or expect to wait for table.
JZQQ
Have been there twice. Not sure why it's so popular. The food and coffee are ok, service is ok, decoration and view are just so so. Always need to wait for table.
HANGRYHUNGRY
Came her to have brunch with work friends. The staff are friendly and attentive! The food was pretty good! I love how you can see the ricotta pieces in ricotta pancakes, so it wasn’t just the pancake batter. The strawberries were marinated. The soft shell crab was very flavourful, although a bit messy to eat! The ambiance of the cafe was lively and it was located in a nice spot.
Tammy Li
It may not look nice but it tastes so good and the truffle oil enhances the flavor. The mushroom lover gonna like it in winter sunny afternoon.
Evelyn Chen
The environment was perfect and I even spent two extra hours finishing my work here. The salmon benedict was my favorite, the sauce tasted amazing! The flat white was good too. Things became better when I realized that it didn't cost me a lot-the prize was delightful! If I have the time, I definitely will come back.
Mr Daniel
Ordered the Brew Deli Plate. When it arrived the items on the plate were freezing cold like they had all been pre-prepared and taken straight out of the fridge and put straight onto the plate. Most items were so cold they were inedible (except the mushrooms as they were warmed up) Provided feedback - but chef refused to accept and stated the dish is supposed to be cold. So was treated as if I didn’t know what I was talking about. Sounds like I’m being petty but a chef should know there is a big difference between food being ‘freezing’ cold and at room temperature. I’m all good if this is how they usually do it - but wasn’t happy with how my feedback was handled by the chef. Quick summary: this place doesn’t seem to be about serving up great food - more what is the quickest way to plate a dish. Disappointed.
Instafoodmonsta
Man this cafe was really amazing!! The coffee was great which is always a good start..but what followed really blew my mind.. We had the mushroom and Parmesan bruschetta with black truffle oil ( enough said) following which we dug into the slow cooked lamb tagine on a crispy flat bread and finally finished off with the ricotta pancakes..would recommend you to try all of the above..

All round great service, food & coffee! Good range of dishes 😋delish! Def recommend. Can sit with the doggo out in the front alfresco too. Gets pretty busy

Always friendly staff. I have been here several times. The food is always cooked n presented well but not always to my liking. The banana bread n steak s/w are incredible

The service here great! Friendly staff and very welcoming... The food is great,.. a typical cafe style - still delicious and filling. Weekends the place will fill up quite easily so best to be there early.

A must try brunch place in Sydney. I had visited the restaurant on a cold Sunday morning and had ordered the saffron risotto and the chicken burger with mango chutney. The saffron risotto stole the show and was so amazing cooked and presented. The colour on the dish took the whole eating experience to a next level. The little saffron strands that come in the mouth while eating the risotto just created a disco party in my palette

Came as a guest. It's a very popular place, came on a Saturday lunch time and the place is packed. Inside, outside and even little tables on the grass (great concept)
The food is definitely better than your average cafe. Pulled pork salad with apple and fennel made it taste that much better. My Ricotta Hotcakes were nice with the strawberries and maple syrup,it was a filling meal. Food came out a little quicker than expected and staff were friendly and accomodating.
I still can't get over the little sitting area on the grass, can't help saying it's a great idea!

Great friendly service, pretty quick with the food too. Freaking awesome coffee and I had one of the best seats in the house right by the window. Very hard to fault...I guess I could only add that the ricotta pancakes could be just a touch lighter - but maybe that’s just a personal preference. Highly recommend and understand why there’s a bit of a wait on a Saturday morning.

Have been sawing this lovely cafe since our new coy. Settled. All good!

5/5 smoked salmon with fresh lettuce and buttermilk dressing is excellent, going well with smashed avocado grilled flat bread!

It’s really yummy! If you force me to say something I don’t like, it might be.... it is really a huge amount for me, I cannot finish lol 😂 ~~~

But all good all good really nice!

@KeraBearEats
We came on a
Friday morning at 10am. It was PACKED and people are always waiting for tables!

This is a very casual cafe, small inside dining area and some tables outside. Very dog friendly, there's always man's best friends hanging around.

My favourite dishes is the savoury lamb, and the ricotta pancakes is definitely some of the best I've ever had.

Disclosure: visit by invite.

Amazing coffee and brunch ! Really friendly service, been here twice now and they are always busy but service is fast :) looking forward to next visit.

Food was amazing; best breakfast I’ve had. I’m not a coffee man but this place has changed that! Soy latte was the bees knees.
Awesome hospitality and quick service .

Unpretentious cafe in the city. Prices and portions were great. Staff were very attentive. Ordered brekky roll, big breakfast, hotcakes, green smoothie & coffee. Very satisfied. Would definately revisit.

A good steak sandwich can be hard to come by, so when you find a cafe that does it well, tell someone about it!

Social Brew in Pyrmont is a funky little eatery with a fresh and flavoursome menu. Grab yourself a sunny seat outside and try any one of their excellent menu items.

If a charred Angus steak sandwich is your lunch of choice, consider pairing it with a spiked juice of your preference. Yes, alcoholic juice is an option at this Sydney cafe and a big hit with the locals.

The Pyrmont eatery is open for all day breakfast and hosts a long lunch, so rock up any time before 5pm for a fab breaky feast that everyone is sure to love.

đŸš©For more awesome Sydney restaurants like this one visit My Bondi Summer's City Guide at mybondisummer.sydney

Big thanks for the high reviews, absolutely justified

Had a friend staying in a hotel in Pyrmont and we were meeting for lunch. Jumped on one of the food review websites and it was highly rated so we had to check it out.
The biggest compliments on the website was the service and how right they were. My friend was from Perth and he just couldn’t believe the comparison. He said in Perth after 20mins a waitress will mosey on over to take your order.
Here within seconds we were being attended to, even our ‘we haven’t decided yet’ ensured wait staff were back at our table every couple of minutes to capture our order.
Staff were extremely polite and it just made everyone dining there so happy, it was a great vibe.
Both our meals and coffees were excellently received, fair priced and having not seen my friend for a number of years really made for a memorable experience.
Looking forward to returning.

Cool cafe and great coffee. Service was good and quick. Lots of different flavours and presented well. Very busy and staff kept things together.
Glutenfreegirl
I had the Deli plate with gf toast - so many different flavours. The zataar egg and mozzarella are particularly delicious! I also have it on good authority that the ricotta pancakes (not gluten free!!) are also amazing. Good coffee, good vibe and though situated at a busy intersection there’s plenty of parking around.

Had breakfast here this morning 5/1/18 .. was greeted by a lovely guy named Chan . He Seated me with water and menu. The meal came out very quickly. While I ate my delicious meal I watched as Chan darted around making sure everyone was comfortable and happy ... well done Chan there should be more waitstaff like you. I will be back

A relatively small cafe that serves up fantastic food and drinks. The chef makes most sauces and ingredients from scratch and you can taste it. We had the Soft shell crab tacos and it was bursting with flavours. The eggs Benedict on thick cut brioche was also a winner, juicy smoked salmon and perfect egg. The pannacotta was a specials and looks amazing with so many textures and elements. I would definitely recommend trying all these dishes.

If kitchen close at 3 I think you should mention it in your bio, so people don't get confuse. what a waste of time going all the way there only to find kitchen is close !

Everything here is delicious
I enjoy the different types of dishes at social brew. Nice mix of flavours. Had the salmon, poached egg, avo zatar dish. Was plentiful and yum. Friend enjoyed the chicken burger which was so seriously good and moist like wow.
Have been here twice. Hasn't disappointed yet. Look forward to bringing more people to try.
Very busy. Come early on weekend to get a table.

We came here for a birthday lunch, I wanted to shout my boyfriend, but he didn't want me to spend too much so he picked 2 of the cheapest items from the menu: a toastie and a soup. However, he said it was the best mushroom soup he has ever had! Staff were friendly and helpful, we bought a cake and they were happy to let us cut it even it wasn't their own pastry.
The Hills Have Fries
Great breakfast at social this morning - such a nice cafe in a perfect location, outside seating next door to a little park, 5 min walk from Darling Harbour. Really nice variety of menu items and all the staff were extremely friendly and happy to help out any requests! Just what you want Fort thing in the morning :)

I think this is the best cafe in Sydney. Luckily I live in Pyrmont and i wanna try all of their foods. Wagyu burger was quite amazing because it was really easy to feel that patty was made of really good beef.
Misstee
One of the best cafes in Pyrmont. High quality food and good coffee. The wagyu burger is absolutely divine and their sweet potato chips are perfect. Will keep coming back to try other things on the menu.

We often get breakfast on Ubereats on a Sunday. Food is consistently good and every time we try something new its amazing. Tried the ricotta pancakes today with bacon which is a new favourite. The fried chicken and chicken burger are also really tasty. Would highly recommend this place for lunch or breakfast in the inner west

Since I am not a Sydney local, I wouldn't be able to comment on the location. It was the closest cafe from my hotel so headed there for brunch.

I was really impressed by the size and price of coffee. Generally, larger coffees don't taste as strong and aren't made as well. Both coffees at Social Brew Cafe were great!

Food was pretty wonderful too. Great quantity and decent priced.

My highlight here was the customer service. The staff were wonderful and the food was served to us in less than 10 mins.

Great place for breakfast. Would recommend.

Great little cafe around the corner. Love the outdoor seating area, plenty of sunshine and good ambience.

Food is good too, have tried their sandwich and juices. Their Banana bread is a must try.

Don'tMessWithMyFood
Loved the fact that reservations are allowed; does split bills and no credit card surcharge! All food venues should take note!
Service was efficient and welcoming, food timely and tasty! Salmon Benedict and Soft shell crab tacos were the favs on our selection.
The Naked Food Addict
Social brew is a beautiful little corner cafe in Pyrmont. Headed down recently for a tasting of Dani Bensens new creation; 'vanilla bean pannacotta served with hazelnut meringue, fresh passionfruit, strawberries and raspberries, served on a bed of berry coulis' which was absolutely DIVINE! All of the different components of this dessert complimented each other so well! The actual pannacotta itself was incredible and both the flavour and presentation were perfect! I would DEFINITELY recommend heading down to try this dessert out! It's something you don't want to miss! Thank you to Claire from CPM marketing for organising this beautiful event as well. Social brew's set up is great.Loved their outside area, and service was great too :) Looking forward to heading back to try the rest of their menu!

This place has delicipus coffee and tarts!

I love sour so their raspberry and passionfruit tart was just amazing! 😍

I actually won a $60 voucher when they were giving them out on instagram competitions and had the pleasure of checking them out!

The juices are delicious and the food was yum!
The pulled pork salad was a little on the sweet side for myself personally and i think the wagyu beef burger could have been a little tastier.

Overall would come for breakfast options or coffee and cake 😘

Very nice cafe in the neighbourhood. It has a diverse range of food on the menu from ricotta hotcakes to burgers and salads. There's something for everyone here. I ordered a soy cappuccino and pulled pork salad before and it was delicious. The salad was very refreshing and filling and not being the biggest fan of rocket, i actually loved it in this salad with radish, apples and quinoa. The ingredients were all very fresh and the coffee was great. Very nice environment with indoor and outdoor sitting connected through open windows. Friendly atmosphere with attentive staff and prompt service. The second time I went with my partner and we had the smoked salmon with hollandaise sauce, eggs on toasted sourdough. The banana bread with espresso butter is also very nice. It is a very thick slice which I wasn't expecting and definitely could not finish it all.
Will definitely bookmark this cafe. Included some photos of the food we had.

First brunch since end of May, so 2.5 months no-brunch-in-Sydney streak was broken. Easily the longest I've been without brunch since I started uni (from memory). Recovery Breakfast after a night out at Eye Ball, so decided to walk here to try out this cafe. Got here around 10am and luckily there weren't too many people since half an hour later there were lines. Sunday mornings in this area is quite cute, especially with everyone walking their dogs around.

Good food and services in a popular cafe in this area. Love the vibe here, serving food in a lightspeed without compromising food quality, Love it.
Picky Piggies
Social Brew is another cafe that's going on our brunch list! Mr Piggy and I are always on the lookout for nice cafes serving brunch for the weekend. After discovering some scrumptious photos online, we decided to pay a visit. The setting is pretty casual, and no queuing was required, which was a relief (especially when you haven't had any food).

There are lots of cafe in Pyrmont and we have stopped by Social Brew Cafe, one of the busiest at the corner of a street. The place was buzzing and we even had to wait in line for a while before we could get a seat but we had no complaint because the weather was so nice on that day and the both of their indoor and outdoor seats embraced the maximum sunlight.

[invite] Bianca: My continuing mission to eat ‘all the pancakes’ has me all over Sydney. I’ve always been a sweet fiend but this has recently kicked into overdrive. Pancakes for breakfast, lunch or dinner
you name it. If a cafĂ© has pancakes on the menu I’m automatically swayed.

A wonderful place to eat and chill with family and friends. Their slow cooked lamb tagine with cous cous is simply amazing - highly recommended. The soft shelled crab tacos with the crispy deep fried crabs and crunchy carrot slaw is another great lunch option. All that with super friendly service - full points there.

Massive serving sizes, I was only able to eat half my meal! It was very tasty though, generous serve of both smoked salmon and avocado. The juice and coffee were pretty good too!

Great food and fantastic coffee. The Double Double was well worth the wait. Very busy on Saturday morning with outside seating a premium. Don't go late or you will have to wait.

Excellent coffee & homely yet inventive brunch. Most importantly, the service was exceptional- both the host & waitress made us feel like regular customers returning for our 100th brunch without being overbearing. Well done guys, no wonder you're busy!
Snapshots Of Food
When we think of Pyrmont, the first thoughts to pop to mind are Darling Harbour, The Star and the Fish Markets but now, the Social Brew Cafe comes to mind. Located on Harris Street next to a small park, it's an ideal place to catch up with friends over brunch, or stop by for a coffee while walking the dog. Any excuse really to visit the cute and quiet little cafe. After both reading through the menu and scrolling through their Instagram feed, we came to the conclusion to order the double double, the brew deli plate and a side of parmesan truffle fries for the nice touch.

Excellent food, service and environment!! Highly recommend!! We only have one and half day spent in Sydney and for both mornings we choose it for breakfast. Had really great time here, the bean stuff and banana bread is outstanding 👍â˜ș

Great Coffee service and location. The service was fast despite being packed. My breakfast was very well presented but I found the flavour in the beans a little lacking, however the eggs and sausage were great.

Searching for al fresco dining in the sun? Look no further – Social Brew CafĂ© is another reason to visit the waterfront suburb of Pyrmont on the city’s outskirts. After tasting its summer menu earlier this year, we came back to check out the winter edition. Some iconic dishes are retained while hearty winter dishes are added to the mix.

If you are living in Pyrmont or near by areas, my recommendation is that you must visit for a peaceful Sunday morning brunch. We have been there couple of times and have consistent experience which prompted me to put down this review. It boasts of a set of friendly staff who would listen to you and would like to make you feel welcomed and offcourse a well priced and diverse menu. Be it egg, chicken, bacon or just salad all are damm tasty and so are the milkshakes :)

Went to the social brew cafe on the weekend. The cafe was super busy; staff were very nice and service was lovely.
I had The Brew Deli plate with an addition of grilled halloumi, ricotta hotcakes, coffee and tea.
Coffee and tea arrived before the food, I liked the tea pot and the coffee was good.
The food took a while to come out but thats understandable as it was a very busy day.

The ricotta hotcakes tasted great with strawberries on top and the maple syrup gave it the extra sweetness it needed.
The Drew Deli plate had all the essential ingredients of a breakfast and I liked how the bread was baked with olives in it. I also was very impressed with the way the labneh was presented and the flavour was very original.
I guess the only negative is that the egg and halloumi were a bit too cold.
There's plenty of street parking so that wasn't a problem at all.

Check out sydneyfoodfrenzy for my insta pic!

Came here after diving. The food has nice presentation. The flavor is a safe bet. Good for people who are health conscious. The ambience is modern simple style. Waitresses are friendly. Do not like some of the more touristy restaurants along the beach.

We came here with a heavy heart, because originally Sokyo had been the plan for brunch but we were too late 😭 Turns out Social Brew was not too shabby of an alternative! I am aware Social Brew is famous/popular in its own right, but some places are all hype so you never really know with these things, until you pay them a visit yourself!

Service was absolutely lovely and accommodating, and quite attentive too. I got the Brew vego stack and asked to swap the haloumi over for avocado, which was done with no problems at all, and came out looking as if it was a part of the dish all along. 😊 I found the dish quite nice, with subtle flavours and fresh ingredients. The beef burger was also enjoyed.

A great little cafe worth checking out! We went on a weekday and place was still buzzing with people, so I can only assume it would be quite busy on the weekends.

For an oasis of good food, coffee and vibes you’ve come to the right place. Located in Pyrmont, Social Brew cafe brings a stylish cafe spot accompanied by great service. Breakfast goers and brunch fanatics, you should definitely include Social Brew on your list, the dining experience was really pleasant. Overall the food at Social Brew was tasty and well presented. The Brew Brekkie Deluxe Board was a great choice for brunch and we happily smashed into smooth avocado, creamy buratta cheese, tomatoes,

We went there on a Wednesday morning and there were a lot people. We ordered coffee only - one flat white and one double espresso as we had had meals in the fish market. And the coffee was awesome. The aroma of the beans was special and the flavour lingered in the mouth.

It's only a few minutes walk from the fish market so it is Highly recommended for a cuppa coffee after the oysters!

This place was busy! The food is good and the staff are friendly, however they seem to make a lot of mistakes with orders. I had items missing from my plate, which I noticed and the staff brought me the missing items (but had I not noticed, I would have gone without!) The person next to me had their drink taken away before it was finished and the wait staff went out the back and brought their half finish drink back, sans their straw. It seemed a bit weird to me because they just brought back a half finished drink from the pile of dirty dishes? Fresh made juices were great

Not bad for breakfast in Sydney. The best part of the meal was the pumpkin and ginger soup special. One of the best pumpkin soups I've ever tasted! I've ordered the Double Double (double ham and double cheese). The meal wasn't that special so there wasn't much expectation. The chai latte was good, though - right texture and good amount of sugar :) Overall, it was a good breakfast.

SOCIAL BREW CAFE - 224 Harris St, Pyrmont
Open from 7AM till 5PM
A lively open-spaced cafĂ© located in the centre of Pyrmont ✹ Personally I love the atmosphere here, even though we sit inside but still can feel the open-air, sunny weather and the vibe from surrounding area. It's perfect for a weekend brunch/lunch đŸ‘ŒđŸŒThe seats are always full so it might be better to make reservations.
The staff was friendly enough for a busy day like this 😂
The menu ranging around 10-20$ dishes with drinks around 3-8$. We tried the breakfast menu with â–ȘRicotta Hotcakes with maple marinated strawberries and pistachio butter added bacon (15$+4$) 😋 and â–ȘWood Smoked Salmon Benedict, sautĂ©ed kale and WASABI hollandaise sauce on brioche (18.5$) 😘
The combination of bacon and maple syrup that you cannot resist served with hot, soft pancakes and strawberries. It gives you that sweet and greasy taste at first then kinda bored at the end since the portion quite big for us 🙈
I love the idea of wasabi and hollandaise sauce đŸ‘đŸŒ It's unique and tasty which craves you for more. The sautĂ©ed kale keeps the balance of the taste not too rich and bored â˜ș
The mocha (4$) here is average, don't want to talk much about it. Will try the fruit juices next time if I have a chance to come back ❀

For a lazy Sunday brunch in Pyrmont, we popped into Social Brew, a buzzing neighbourhood gem with a great selection of delicious eats! We shared a few dishes between us, with two beautiful fresh fruit juices to complement our meal. The first was the Muesli of burnt fig, cinnamon & almond, natural yogurt and seasonal fruit. It was so delicious and well balanced, with a great ratio of yoghurt to oats and seeds, and we loved the mini pots of milk on the side!

Located next to the busy Pyrmont neighbourhood, the cafe offers a variety of reinvented breakfast classics. I ordered the Social Brew Deli and Parmesan fries. There was nothing bad about the Deli breakfast but there was nothing exceptional or impressionable too. The fries arrived cold and I wondered they were from the previous batches.
TheFatCouple
This is a great place for a chill weekend brunch! You're spoilt for choice with seating options both inside and outside.

We had the pancakes which were super fluffy, served with fresh strawberries & a yummy pistachio butter.

We also had the deli breakfast plate with burrata cheese - whoever put this dish together is an absolute legend!

The coffee here is top notch & so are their breakfast smoothies!

A cosy vibrant cafe nestled in the heart of Pyrmont offers locals and lovers of good food a place to sit and enjoy a meal full of flavour. We were served by lovely staff who were helpful with the menu. We chose three dishes: The Brew Deli Plate, Double Double and the Angus Steak Sandwich.

The Brew Deli Plate served up delicious olive bread, tomatoes, mushrooms, avocado, proscuitto and our favourite, burrata. The Double Double played on an old favourite, the ham and cheese toastie, but instead with double smoked black forest ham with melted cheddar on a beer infused bread. Last but not least the Angus Steak sandwich was perfectly tender served with horseradish mayo. Yum Yum Yum!

They are wizards at spiking your drink too, not sure what we mean? Well head down and try one of their freshly squeezed juices spiked with rum or vodka, we bet you'll never even know it was there. It infuses so nicely, you'll be able to put 4 away before you forget your name. There is a little park right next to the cafe so the kids can run around as well. Next time your in Pyrmont check it out!!

I ordered the ricotta pancakes and fell in love with the pistachio butter. The pancakes were rich but not sickening and the pistachio butter went really well with it. My friend ordered the salmon on flat bread and that was very nice as well. The staff were very friendly and the service was quite fast.

Social Brew Cafe has definitely set their place on Sydney's culinary map as one of Pyrmont's top cafe destinations. A creative menu which consists of all day breakfast and lunch dishes. I devoured my visual feast of The Brew Deli Board, Hot Ricotta pancakes and the Soft Shell Crab Tacos were the bomb. The coffee was the perfect temperature and strength. If you arrive and there is a wait, I implore you to be patient as you won't be disappointed. Thumbs up from me!
@burgersnbikinis
Follow my insta @burgersnbikinis

Today was my second visit to Social Brew, this time to try out the lunch menu. I turned up around 1pm and only had to wait about 10mins for a table, and was lucky to get one of the outside ones which has a nice outlook onto the park.

For drinks we started with a choc hazelnut milkshake which was on point, nice and thick and heavy on the chocolate. We also got a watermelon, pineapple and strawberry juice which was super refreshing!

Food time!

Steak sandwich with Gorgonzola, horseradish mayo and pickled eschalots. The steak was cooked nice and rare, but please make sure you like Gorgonzola if you order this, because the flavour really takes over the sandwich.

Truffle fries with Parmesan. I had these last time and had to have them again! Super truffly hot goodness.

Pulled pork salad with apple, fennel, red radish and quinoa. What a winner! I'm honestly not much of a salad fan but I could eat this all day!! Generous chunks of shredded pork, and the Apple flavour is so lovely and interesting.

Roast pumpkin with 4 seeds, almond pesto, marinated chicken, caramelised onion and rocket on sourdough. This dish was too deconstructed for my liking and made it hard to eat. The slices of sourdough and huuuge, so we cut ours in half as to get more out of the flavours. The chicken is juicy and the onions and pesto are nice, but wasn't a fan of the cold pumpkin covered in the seeds.

Overall I'd prefer the brekky menu over the lunch menu, however those sides really nailed it for me. As always the staff are incredibly friendly, and it's a lovely cafe with a neighborhood atmosphere.

Saz - Burgersnbikinis

Xx

I just recently posted my review for lunch at Social Brew, but catching up on my food adventures I'm now going to recap the wonderful brunch I enjoyed here a few weeks ago. If you could choose between the breakfast and lunch menu I'd hands down pick the brekky menu every time.

For this feast here's what was on the menu:

Truffle fries - haha ok not really a brekky item, but I couldn't help myself. They are super truffly and cheesy and honestly just perfect.

The Brew Deli plate - omg this blew my mind. Whoever decide burrata was an acceptable brunch item, I freaking love you. This comes serves on a huge board loaded with sourdough, prosciutto, truss tomatoes, avo, burrata, mushrooms in a nice sauce, and I added haloumi extra coz why not. This is the real MVP of brunch right here.

Smoked salmon and avocado with micro mesclun lettuce, buttermilk dressing and zaatar on grilled flat bread. Add a poached egg and this is damn healthy and tasty. Looks pretty too.

Lastly got a chocolate hazelnut shake because I just wanted to offset the health benefits of that previous dish you know haha! Nice and thick and chocolately like it should be!

A top recommendation for brunch on a sunny Sydney morning. Delish!

Saz - Burgersnbikinis

Xx
The Weekend Foodie
I took mum along to this invitation, she said she has walked past the social brew cafe countless times on her way to the fish market, the cafe is always busy and appears very desirable, she said she always wanted to come in for a meal.

We went on a saturday, around noon, the cafe was pumping and filled with customers and their pups. I had a tumeric latte and mum had one of their freshly squeezed juices, it was thirst quenching (on a very hot day!). Tumeric latte was made with almond milk and tastes just the way i like it uh-huh uh-huh..

Mum ordered social brews fried chicken, it was just too irresistible, even on a day that was made for heat waves to occur. The chicken was crunchy, juicy and topped with an asian salad and lots of chilli.

I had the Smoked salmon and avo with micro mesclun lettuce, buttermilk dressing and zaatar on grilled flat bread .. with a poached egg of course. It was a refreshing meal, and quite big, the sauce transformed the dish. I enjoyed this, however its not something id order on a regular basis, my partner being a pescatarian would have enjoyed this a lot more.

Our side of truffle parmesan fries filled out belly to the brim. We were stuffed but couldnt stop eating.
Id highly recommend this.

Ricotta hotcakes to finish off was a good idea, the hotcakes were creamy, fluffy and light weight. Very easy to eat and possibly over eat! It wasnt until we got up to leave we realised how full we were!

Just a small note on service - amazing. We were treated very well, as were the surrounding tables and their doggies!

If you manage to get to the social brew id highly recommend their freshly squeezed juice (coffee is good also) IMHO fried chicken and truffle parmesan fries were the hero dishes.
.
.
.
EDIT 21/07/18
Came back to try some of their new dishes, social brew is one of the rare cafes with consistently good food and good service.

Fish burger was excellent my partner ate the entire thing with fries in about 10 mins. I highly highly recommend blueberry maple shake, oh my god it is hands down one of the most delicious shakes I have ever tried. You have to like maple to enjoy it though, my partner found the maple flavour to be too intense, I thought it was perfect.

I ordered the veggo board, loved everything on the board, shout out to the delicious bread with bits of olives in it yumyum. The only thing I didn't like was the egg, it was so sour!!!!! It's an acquired taste.

*we were kindly invited

Perfect spot for brunch in Pyrmont. Food was yummy, creative & the service was excellent. We ordered the breakfast board and the breakfast bun.

Thanks social brew

amazing spot for tourists, right near the heart of sydney. came here just after a long flight from wa, the smoothie & muesli were so fresh and exactly what i was in need of. the staff were friendly and the place was buzzing. 10/10.

Situated within walking distance to the Sydney Fish Markets, Social Brew is a lively, welcoming cafe serving some appetizing meals. It was a gorgeous, sunny day in Sydney. I even observed some cafe-goers bringing picnic mats and having refreshments brought over from the kitchen. What we sampled:Charred Angus steak sandwich, gorgonzola, house made horseradish mayo & pickled eschalots - beef cooked medium rare, still juicy.

Absolutely solid offering all throughout the offer. Great service, gorgeous breezy outlook and great food offer. Long trading hours make it a very convenient option in the area
TrufflePig
Upon first impressions, Social Brew may appear very much like a standard, mid-range cafe, who think asking for avocado on toast is a request for mere smear on your bread as a side show rather than the feature star, and in turn, worthy of overlooking. Fortunately, the character-lacking stainless steel signage and plastic outdoor chairs are all a guise, and crowds speak volumes.

Despite packed corners, both inside and out, foot traffic really seems to flow. Coffees come quick, and service is real-world and friendly. Nothing here is a problem and staff answer questions in-depth and have a clear intent to make sure they've got your order downpat.

The muesli is lovely. Adorably served with milk bottle, pot of caramelised mango, coconut and yoghurt, and so much so, it barely needs milk. Its borderline a little sweet, although still delicious. Lamb sandwich is another great pick, although the meat is juicy, it trickles down to soak the bottom half of the sandwich leaving it really difficult to handle if left too long - and a good sandwich is nothing you want to rush.

It's a packed operation but it only feels cosy. The outdoor seating is undercover, or you can hide away in a tastefully decorated dining area inside.

Any Sydney-sider will tell you that the sign of a good brunch spot is one with a queue, and we’re all willing to wait. And as we approached Social Brew in Pyrmont, it was the gathering of people out the front that made us realise we were in the right spot. Greeted by the friendly owner Andrew, we were immediately made to feel right at home by our waiter Stephen. Although not overstated, Social Brew is comfortable and trendy with funky covers of pop songs subtly playing in the background, somewhere you could easily picture visiting regularly on a Sunday morning.

Went here for breakfast on a sunny spring morning. They moved a table into the sun for me. I had a mango acai bowl which was nice, although it make me feel cold. The tea was nice as well. The prices seemed a bit steep ($16 for the bowl and $4,50 for the tea). Service was friendly.

It was a lovely day and the sun was out. This cafe is located on Harris Street. There were quite a few people enjoying their beverages outside since the weather was good.

I was trying not to have too much coffee so switched to a Chai Latte. It was a delicious blend with enough kick to it and not too sweet. Really friendly service here.

What a lovely cafe, wonderful ambiance, amazing prompt service and the food is sensational!!! Highly recommend the caramelised brioche and ricotta hot cakes. This place is a must !!!

Just a few minutes walk from the towering Star, there lies an oasis of good food and great coffee. Its Social Brew CafĂ©, and it’s a cafĂ© well known to the locals in the area. Located along Harris street, this eatery is complete with spacious outdoor and intimate indoor seating. We took a seat inside and were greeted by amiable wait staff.

My wife and I live in California, and we both really appreciate great restaurants and great food. Social Brew makes the grade in all respects: it absolutely keeps the promises it makes.

We ate two meals at Social Brew, late mornings during the week, second week of October.

Food: We tried the Brekkie Board, the Beans with egg and sausage, the banana bread, a crab-salad-sandwich special, and coffees. Everything was delicious, starting with the coffee, which was as good as anything we had in Australia (serious, serious coffee country) and better than most places in our home country. Every food item was sparklingly fresh, simply but very well prepared, and .. just delicious. We wanted to order another meal after we finished, each time, and other than the physical impossibility of stuffing myself that full, I was ready to go for it. Other menu items look tempting, and there is always a chalkboard of specials. You will enjoy the skillful presentation, as well.

Service: Really quite perfect. Respectful, charming servers, solicitous of our every need. Made good suggestions, and the food appeared very quickly.

Ambience: Casual, pleasant, very clean, lovely huge windows that open onto outdoor-seating area and small park (traffic noise at nearby major intersection can be a distraction). Quite a nice place to have this sort of food, and room for quite a few diners.

We don't know exactly when we'll return to Sydney, but we hope it is VERY soon, and Social Brew will be among our first stops after we arrive. Well done, all!

This place has been on our list of cafes to visit for a while and we finally got to try it today and loved it! On a Sunday it is a hub for brunch goers but you generally do not have to wait too long for a table and they have dedicated bench spots where you can sit back and browse the menu. This cafe has the option of all day breakfast and all day lunch - which means you can please everyone. We went for the brekkie board which had olive bread, prosciutto, avocado, feta, tomato and a zaatar egg. The olive bread was absolutely delicious and this menu option was a great twist on the usual breakfast bruschetta - highly recommended. We also had the apple cider eggs Benedict which was lighter then what you would expect and served on top of a thick cut brioche bread. The eggs were cooked perfectly and you can choose between ham, bacon and salmon - our tip is to go for the crispy bacon. The iced coffee is a generous size and if you don't have time to sit grab a takeaway and walk through the park. The lunch options looked equally enticing including the crispy fried chicken and social wagyu beef burger. The staff are accommodating and manage a busy crowd well. There is 2 hour ticketed parking in the surrounding streets and it is generally easy to find a park on the weekend. Mid week this would be a great spot to bring your laptop and sit inside or out. We absolutely loved our brunch at social brew cafe.

Pros : My fav breakfast restaurant in Sydney!! Very high quality food that tastes soooooo good. I love the vibe that this place gives off . Relaxing , alfresco, it is a beautiful way to wake up , to grab breakfast here. Coffee is great, I order a large and it's really big so that's awesome. My fav dish here is the one with a hot bowl of beans with sausage and egg on top, soooooo good and hearty, spices r not over done, just perfection!!. Ricotta Pancakes were very good too, unique wonderful flavor, I highly recommend. Eggs Benedict is good , except that the bread gets soggy. Friendly welcoming staff! This is the best place to get breakfast, I have not tried their lunch/dinner menu yet.

Cons: price is slightly expensive.
It is a popular place so there tends to be a long line. Location of the restaurant is not in a fun area, nothing around it, stand alone restaurant, no views or anything, blah neighborhood area, but somehow the restaurant has a great, happy , relaxing vibe, which I love!

I come here as often as I can. It's quite a far walk from where I live (cbd) so I come here when I'm not lazy. If I lived closer , I'd eat here weekly , rather than monthly! Love love this place ! Yum!!!!!!

Gorgeous cafe located on a sunny bright spot in Pyrmont. Very popular with the local corporate crowd. The dishes are massive and cooked perfectly. The customer service is fantastic. I highly recommend the pulled pork salad and the crispy fried chicken.

Warm friendly vibe, staff were very welcoming. There's heaps of seating outside and today we lapped up the beautiful spring sunshine. There's heaters outside if it was a cold day. It is pet friendly and also a small nearby park where people had blankets to sit with their food. Also accessible for those with a wheelchair or pram.
The menu has all day breakfasts like muesli, brekkie rolls, eggs benedict (with an apple cider flavour), caramelised brioche, beans, double smoked ham sandwich or what we got was the brekkie board; grilled olive bread that was really flavoursome, sliced prosciutto, avocado, herb pesto, roma tomato and a soft boiled zaatar egg that was perfectly cooked. We added on a hash brown and haloumi. Great platter and filled our bellies.
The lunch options have a range of salads and the roasted pumpkin in flat bread with caramelised onion sounds amazing. I personally chose the pulled pork salad with rocket, shaved fennel, red radish, Quinoa and apple which complemented the salad really well. It tasted like a healthy pulled pork burger minus the bread 👍👍 They also serve beef or chicken burgers, slow cooked lamb, ricotta hot cakes etc. They do have vegetarian options as well.
The coffee is really nice and they use all press beans. The tea is rabbit hole organic and my English breakfast tea came out in a cute little teapot. The shakes sounded amazing - salted caramel or choc hazelnut. Amazing. Smoothies and freshly squeezed juices too.
Social brew is certainly that; great for a coffee and a hang out with friends.

Went a second time and it was just as good! Upon arrival there were no seats; we were asked for drinks as we sat on a bench for a table to come. Within 5 minutes were were kindly greeted by staff and sat down. The cafe was quick paced and seemed to be lots of people coming in and out, a real hit in pyrmont. We ordered a coffee and a shake, the coffee was strong yet smooth and the chocolate shake was bursting with chocolate and hazelnut taste.

We ordered a southern fried chicken with coleslaw and chips was unreal; tasty and an enormous portion. The chicken was delicious and fell apart easily. Highly recommend. In addition to this meal; we also ordered an eggs Benedict. The eggs Benedict was creamy and the bread it was on tasted exactly like a crossaint would, never had or tasted something like this before. We also tried the brew deli plate with smooth burrata cheese, avocado, organic truss baby tomatoes, prosciutto, mushrooms and a boiled zaatar egg. Such a lovely healthy and tasty dish. As well as this we went for an amazing smoked salmon benedict with sauted kale, wasabi hollandaise on brioche. The perfect combination of flavours.

I will continue to to go back :)
Christine
We grabbed lunch (well, breakfast food) here during our break, and got to say, the food was pretty great. Nice ambience to the shop and we were served quickly. The Brew Brekkie Board was great - not the warmest meal on a cold day, but it was well balanced in flavours and the half-boiled egg was great! Will definitely return to try out their milkshakes!

My new favourite!!
Super busy cafe but worth the wait. Cosy inside and the staff were cheerful and very hospitable.
The menu was extensive and the food fresh and well portioned. Great coffee too!
Cannot wait to go back to try something new!

Lovely for weekend breakfasts. Ask for the pancakes (they're not on the menu). Served with very generous dollops of pistachio butter. Loved it!

Took my family to Sydney for a sneaky weekend away. We always make sure food is a big part of our adventures and we like to try lots of different establishments when we visit places. Social Brew had excellent reviews and ratings so I thought I would take the punt, and I can enthusiastically confirm that their ratings and reviews are entirely deserved. Not only were the staff beyond professional and welcoming, they accommodated our little family and made us feel entirely welcomed and valued. The atmosphere was friendly and social without feeling like you couldn't have a conversation or relax - perfect. The menu was a smart blend of practical, functional food with some interesting twists - but nothing that stepped outside of providing a stable breakfast experience. We were completely satisfied with all our meals, the coffee was the best we had all weekend, and the price points were perfectly structured. I would happily eat there many more times - if only we lived close by!

One of my first options if I want a cafe in Pyrmont. On a sunny day its nice to sit outside, the guys working there are welcoming and they try to accommodate you the sooner they can. They have a good coffee and the eggs benedict.. yummy.
Ilovefooood
Since moving to the area, this place has become our go to Saturday brunch spot. We are slowly going through the menu and everything has been delicious so far! We'd just like to call out the salted caramel milkshake. It is to die for.

The only thing to note is that the place can be quite busy on weekends especially if the weathers good. Although waiting time is not as long as some of the very popular places around Sydney, service can sometimes be slow. If you're really hungry, maybe take that into consideration
Kenz
Pulled pork salad was disappointing considering the other reviews. It tasted bland, and the tender pork couldn't carry the tastelessness of the rocket, raddish and qinoa that weighed down the flavor. Even the extra dash of dressing we requested couldn't save it. Oh well, lesson learned, and we won't waste stomach space on it again. The earl gray tea was unremarkable. We had a few sips then were through with it, definitely won't be getting the earl gray here again. The brekkie roll was easily the highlight of our brunch. We'll be back for that, but no bland pulled pork salad or earl gray tea next time. The service was friendly and the food came out fairly quick, so a 3.5/5 it is.
Aki
Cool cafe with very friendly and helpful staff. Great service and drinks. Shakes are simply spot on. Even with ice cubes at the bottom of the glass the rich flavour still stay till the last drop you have.
Kai Luv
One of the most popular cafes in Pyrmont with good reason. You can feel the love when you walk in, from the warm greeting by the owner, to the busy staff running meal and coffee food lines to the thoughtful cushioned waiting area. The menu is traditional but well done and the coffee is good.
Josh Inbari
The food and service was great!! Timely assistance and awesome coffee :) cold water could be great next time though.

The music also brought a nice vibe to this cafe

The standout here would definitely be the drinks – good coffee and excellent juices. The watermelon, strawberry and mint juice is particularly refreshing, though a bit pricey.

Food-wise, we have tried the smoked salmon on flatbread, ricotta hotcakes with maple marinated strawberries and pistachio butter, apple cider eggs benedict, the muesli with burnt fig, cinnamon and almond, as well as the poached eggs with beans, tomatoes and spiced sausage.

The hotcakes (mysteriously included in the 'lunch' instead of 'breakfast' menu, though both are available all day) were reliably tasty and not too heavy; the smoked salmon on flatbread similarly delivered what was promised in satisfying proportions. The eggs benedict and muesli were less memorable – standard brunch fare, though nothing particularly special.

For some reason, when we visited, the poached eggs were labelled 'baked eggs' on the menu board, which was highly misleading, since the dish in fact consisted of baked beans topped with poached eggs. For what it was, it was nicely seasoned, with smokey, tangy flavours, with added depth from the spiced (lamb) sausage.

Overall, the Social Brew Cafe is a good place to visit if you're in Pyrmont and looking for a decent brunch. We've visited a few times and have generally been quite satisfied, though never quite blown away.
Eat And Be Merry Crew
My salad also included apple, shaved fennel, radish and quinoa, with a light dressing. The pulled pork was warm, succulent and tender, with no residual fattiness that can sometimes count against it in less perfect renditions. Accompanied by the crunch from the raw ingredients it was a perfect lunch dish for a hot day. This place ticks all the boxes for a great lunchtime cafĂ© – location, inviting dĂ©cor and food. The various menu options served up to the other diners looked great as well, and I would have no hesitation in returning.

My favourite spot for having a brunch. The benedict eggs and spinach are yummy. The brioche is good too. Must try the detox juice with apple, celery, and others green vegetables. Ask for a table outside during the sunny days, and you will have a great moment.
Josh
Food, service and atmosphere all on point! Get around the breakfasts for sure. Great value for money too. Always buzzing and the staff are awesome!

As soon as you step into Social Brew Cafe the warmth and friendliness is evident. We got there early at 9.30am and there was a few tables left. A little after that and you may have to wait for a table. Service is super quick and the menu has plenty of variety. We had the breakfast plate with some add ons and the salmon avocado on flatbread. Must haves. Absolutely delicious.
Will definitely be back.

Social brew my local cafe, firstly the staff are friendly and the owner always comes and says hello and asks how I'm doing. The coffee here is great I always get my almond coffees from here because they do it right. Also very flexible with the menu as they made me a salmon croissant from scratch. Good menu options it always makes me return to get food and coffee.

Considering Pyrmont has a serious lack of good cafes I have visited this place numerous times. The first few visits were pretty good- they had nice juice and ok breakfast. I think now a few people have caught onto it and they mustn't be able to keep up with the demand of people and service.
The last three four times the orders were stuffed up, toast not even cooked etc and yet I keep going back. For the price of the food its not worth . However today I went back and the service was so good I amended my rating !!!!
Eating Out Sydney
Really good prices and quality cafe, I like that it aha current radio songs and has a little ambience. The pork salad is fresh and tasty. The burger breakdown - one in lettuce leaves and one traditional which had great bun to beef ratio, The beef is decent size patty and juicy but the chutney oooooo eeeee yummy!!! Get this in your hot little hands!!
Max
Great place for brekkie, really limited for quality options in Pyrmont, this place really stands out.
Menu is about quality over quantity. Cafe takes pride in its food presentation, friendly, efficient service.
Mr Eats
Winner. Brekkie is awesome here with a great menu, with some healthy options and not so healthy like the brioche brekkie roll... which is my favorite. Coffees are good and arrives quickly. The staff are also super friendly and good at what the do!
A must!
Jon
Pyrmont breakfast gem. Super friendly, very good Allpress coffee, and my wife's breakfast board was stunningly presented and (according to her) one if the best breakfasts she's ever had. I couldn't fault my banana bread with espresso maple butter. Recommended.

The cafĂ© itself and the menu are small but the offerings varied. The gas heaters both inside and out are a big drawcard in the Sydney winter for those stopping by for their caffeine fix and diners alike. Social Brew presents nicely with large windows catching the morning sun. The straight back bench seating against the wall is stiff and uninspiring albeit a convenient option for maximising table numbers with minimum floor space. The menu is very reasonably priced – breakfast or lunch won’t cost you any more than $16 per dish.
Ben
Such a good place to have breakfast! Great vibe from the staff, and great food.
Helen
Helen. We have tried many cafes around Pyrmont but none seem to dot all the i's and cross all the t's like Social Brew does.
We walk each morning and enjoy our tea/coffee with Andrew as "Mein-host". Dean is also extremely efficient and friendly as is their Barista of course. Beautiful coffee, the breakfasts and lunches are sensational and all at reasonable prices. Wi-fi is complimentary so a "win win" all round.

We went 3 days in a row!. Amazing staff, amazing food, we had to keep coming back for more. 5 girls on holiday in Sydney searching for some great coffee and delicious food and wow did we find the spot! This place has a friendly, cool vibe and has the most incredible juices and food selection! Already missing the food there- we all can't wait to return!

Finally an east coast cafe that gets it. Good food, good people, good coffee

Came here to escape the hotel breakfast. Just a 5 minute walk took us to this local cafe. Great service, great food. We'll be back.

A very lovely cafe. Staff are very friendly. Cafe has a modern look to it but with a rustic charm with it wooden board for plates. I have tries the social brekkie there take on a bacon egg roll, it had the right ingredients to be a winner with cheese and homemade chutney. However they over did the cheese and under did the chutney the bun was a little too soft but still very nice. They also do an amazing wagu beef burger and variety of smoothies and juices.

Ups and downs. Popped down to Social Brew to morning with my friend who lives locally. I had read a few reviews before we left so didn't have high expectations for the coffee but the food looked great.

Service was prompt and friendly enough though the waitress could not discuss menu items with us very confidently. We both had the breakfast board & our soft poached eggs were perfect. Our meals came our really quickly and I could not find fault with them. We were given a healthy portion of everything especially avocado. I would recommend this breakfast to others.

The main let down for the morning was the coffee. I made sure to order a double long black as I know All Press has a habit of serving single shots. Not even sugar could save this coffee. It was clearly under extracted with a sour tangy taste.

I was asked how everything was when my table was cleared and I expressed my disappointment with my coffee. I was offered a second one which I declined based on the first one and the reading I had done before leaving home.

The final disappointment was being charged for this coffee when I went to pay. The gentleman who fixed our heater was the best of the front of house staff. He was relaxed, casual and confident not In an arrogant way.
Lauren
This place is amazing. The food is great, the owner is super friendly. Their home made lemonade is refreshing & made a nice change from the coffee we had been drinking all day! We've eaten the smoked salmon breakfast, the fried chicken with slaw, the beetroot/rocket/chicken salad and the pulled lamb sandwich & it was brilliant. Really tasty, good generous servings. I'm so disappointed with cafe food these days I had to write something about how good this place is!
Ed M
A little overpriced. Not a good place for big breakfast lovers. The menu is made of component parts so you have to construct a big breakfast from separate items added to a baseline egg dish.
That's not so bad until you realise the parts are all $3, and the servings are pretty small. I think there were 2 mushrooms for $3, which was somewhat excessive.
More suited to gourmet foodies that like to pick at overpriced scraps.
Preferred former menu under previous management as Concrete Cafe.

After enduring a very under average and over priced hotel breakfast the day before. We headed to social brew on the way to powerhouse museum. It really is excellent. We had the breakky board, hot cakes and poached eggs. Service fast and friendly and the food yummy. Not to mention great coffee. Great value for money.

Great customer service. Visited this place while in Sydney due to the positive reviews on urbanspoon. Positives- amazing coffee, fantastic customer service and a nice and relaxing atmosphere. Negatives- Pouched eggs were overcooked.

Great spot, highly recommend! Staff were super helpful, friendly & efficient and food also delicious. We had breakfast today and really enjoyed it.

Coffee (flat white) was smooth and delicious. Service was exceptional, staff made you feel welcomed. Great location and atmosphere 5 min from the Pyrmont foot bridge. Food was fresh and wholesome, presented well, and came out in good time. Definitely recommend and will be going back.

Best Cafe I've been to!. My overall rating for this cafe is 9/10. They have a good menu, a nice location, great tasting food, amazing freshly squeezed juices and smoothies to die for! The only minor thing that I've noticed is 3 out 4 times that I've been there alone of with friends it always takes a long time for the waitresses to give menus. It was a little difficult to get their attention too and the response time is slow. Aside from this, they are friendly once they are able to assist.
John.galiatsatos
Legendary. OMG!!! This place is amazing! Finally a great place to go for breaky. Without a doubt the only place do go for a feed in Pyrmont. The coffee is perfect, and they do fresh juices that are out of control... oh, and you have to try their milk shakes.. there is a peanut butter one that is just crazy!!! The food is awesome too... really quick and tasty... and the crew down there are friendly. Can't rave about these guys enough... so glad I don't have to leave my suburb for a great meal. Do yourself a favour and check it out... Im a massive fan!
