Review Little Snail - Sydney

Christine Mai
The nice French restaurant I’ve ever had in Sydney. I had dinner here with my partner for our anniversary. I really enjoyed the foods with 3 course meals. It’s delicious! Not much waiting once we placed the order. The foods was delicious and the service was nice. We will come back! Recommended!!!

Reasonably priced set menu with a good variety of wines and champagnes. The food is delicious, could do with a little bit more salt. The portions are very generous. The food is beautifully presented. Service is attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is quite nice and lively.

One of my first French restaurants I've dined in Love the place, amazing place serving amazing food. The staff were very professional. Using the Groupon voucher to get the 2 for 1 dining experience. Well worth it! Duck Pate is very rich and creamy. A bit too large for my liking and had to share with other diners. Duck, kangaroo and beef were cooked to perfection. Delicious! Desserts are delicious and beautifully presented. Well worth the price!

Best value for money 3 course French dinner!! Service prompt and professional. Food well plated and simply delicious! Never been so happy with a meal anywhere in Sydney! We came away happy with the quality of food and service!! We shall return.

Celebrated our belated anniversary there. It is really worthy to buy some coupon and enjoy the fine dining experience. Snails are delicious as always. I have tried some game meat - kangaroo steak. Chewy but tasty. Deserts and mocktails are also included in our set menu.

Had a birthday surprise dinner here organised by my partner. Wow what a wonderful time we had. The restaurant has a great vibe and the decor is nice and modern not distracting from the two best things, the food and the service. We had very polite and fast servers even in a busy hour of the day our food was delivered swiftly. The food was something else, if you're looking for a modern French cuisine this is the place to go.

The Little Snail isn't a pretentious French restaurant. A 3 course meal costs $65 which is relatively cheaper to your usual course meals especially if it's a French restaurant. Was so surprised with the food portions! They served so much and it was very filling. For entrée I had Pate Maison which is liver, pickles, and some garlic bread and sour dough. For main, I had the veal (I don't recommend this one. This is good but not really a classy dish. I recommend have the beef steak or lamb) For Dessert, I had the Hazelnut ice cream with shortbread. Really generous serving of ice cream.

Great dining experience, especially with the Groupon voucher, which includes 3 courses and a drink. We also ordered the honey, cheese and chilli bread which was delicious, and great to dip into the butter sauce from the snails. Each dish was great. Service was very efficient and friendly. It was a relatively busy evening and there were staff around. They were very quick to clear plates too.

We stumbled upon The Little Snail restaurant for a date night in May and was amazed by the food and service. We absolutely loved the dinner menu, from the tasty escargots to the succulent duck breast, and refreshing desserts. Two months later, we came here again for our wedding reception and the restaurant again delivered. Our guests loved the food, and the price was still within our budget. Highly recommended!

Celebrated Mother's Day by having dinner at The Little Snail yesterday and absolutely loved it. The food is so delicious! Even after a hectic day, the staff were very friendly and the restaurant's atmosphere welcoming. The three course set menu has an excellent variety of dishes and really is great value for money.

Friendly staff and great food! 3-course lunch is such a great value. Great place to meet up, relax, eat, and enjoy the view.

We had our son's joint 1st birthday party and Christening reception at Little Snail for about a hundred guests. The staff was very accomodating to our needs. They even allowed us to decorate the place up until midnight the night before the event. At the event, our guests were pleased with the food and the service. The only thing that we didn't like was that they served the softdrinks with the actual 1litre softdrink bottle and not on a jug. It looked really funny since it was fine dining. And I had some guests ask about it. I am willing to overlook this as the staff was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!

Booked a table for 14 for a family Christmas gathering. Great service, excellent food and will definitely be going back soon. Highly recommend the lunch menu for $39.00 👌🏻

My first time at the Little Snail Resturant and it was absolutely lovely. The restaurant itself was stunning, the meals were delicious and the service was excellent. Quick service of our meals was on point too. Had the 3 course for dinner which was great value for money. Highly recommended, will definitely return.

Absolutely wonderful meal here tonight. All 3 courses both my husband and I had were fantastic. Service was quality too would highly recommend...if I lived here I’d be a regular!!!

The food was excellent. Having family with us who also were very impressed. Will recommend and intend to go back again. Thank you for making my Birthday celebration memorable.

My favourite place in whole Sydney since 2011 even without Groupon voucher! Delicious food and always 5 star service!

Celebrated Mother’s Day dinner and it’s absolutely beautiful, from the staff, service and the food. We definitely had a good time. Highly recommended.

First time here and it didn't disappoint us. Food was soooo good and the service was excellent. Will definitely come back and try the other dishes. Good food, good value for the money.

This is my second time dining here. First time was using Groupon. Both time had great customer service. I added photos from the first time dining and the second.
STARTER: Their pate was good but I preferred the escargot way more. My partner had the seafood soup as a starter, a little bland but they provide salt and pepper so it was not too bad :)

MAINS: My first and second time dining I had the fillet of beef tenderloin, but not sure why the first time I had one piece but the second time dining they have me 2 pieces of the fillet? One is enough but 2 would be good for some one with a bigger appetite. Would recommend.
My partner both times had the kangaroo and he loves it. Not too chewy and not too soft.

DESSERT: Both times I had the sticky date pudding. Loved it both times. The warmth of the pudding goes well with the ice cream and the sauce.
My partner had the chocolate mousse the first time and had the hazelnut praline ice cream. He preferred the ice cream.

Overall very good. Would come back again.

Always reliably good. The little snail offers comfortable higher end french dining. Most people go for the 3 course meal which a great selection for entree, main and dessert. Having been to the place multiple times, staff are always attentive and food is always well done. Food is affordable for the portion size and you are guaranteed to leave here feeling quite full. Only complaint is menu has not changed for a long time now. It would be nice to see something new.
Would recommend
Good value for money. great location. Service is decent when restaurant not packed. I actually think if they upgrade their cutlery and decor they could make themselves a fine dining place, it s a great friends or family gathering place though!

I remember this place to be a place of great experience and great food. Once this virus is over, This place will be the place to visit again.

So many good dates with the girls here.
Purple Curiosity
Since we ate during their dinner hours, we were given the $60 3 course menu. Which I find is a good deal, considering on their A La Carte menu for example, a main dish can be about $32+. My favourite dish of the night, would be their herb-infused, garlic buttered Escargots De Bourgogne...

Full review: purplecuriosity.wordpress.com/2016/05/14/4455/

Well if you’re looking for French inspired modern Australian dining, this restaurant is the place to be. As their name suggests, they do an amazing snails entree which is buttery and delicious. I also recommend their salmon which is nicely cooked, nice and fatty. Their seafood platter is also fresh.
Kate Phan
Great service and all the dishes we picked were delicious. The pate and duck is a must!
Blair
It’s a good experience with Groupon voucher. Food was good but don’t expect it to be a French restaurant if you are French 😄 Because it doesn’t feel the same as you know. Still it’s a good place for a dinner. Highly recommend the stead it would make you mouth watering. The canard was not impressive. But I love the escargot and it was a generous size! Would probably come back again

Went for a family lunch and got the 3 course lunch menu per person ($42). Pretty nice service and good dishes for the price.

I got:
🍣 Salmon Roulade filled with herb cheese mousseline, served with potato nest and passion fruit dressing
I really enjoyed this, it was a nice light entree.

🥩Cote de Veau with piquant cream sauce of smoked bacon, shallot, and sun ripened tomatoes, served with potato croquette and seasonal greens
this dish is hearty but very nice. the creamy sauce went very nicely with the meat.

🍦Chef churned hazelnut and praline ice cream on sable breton and Grand Marnier caramel.
Obviously my favourite part of the meal. So sweet and delicious. loved the crunchy caramel on top.

we also got some 🥖 bruschetta as a side for everyone but it was probably unnecessary because the 3 courses was very filling.

Food
☆☆☆☆☆
◌ ESCARGOTS DE BOURGOGNE 🐌
The sauce overpowered the whole dish from the garlic and the overall saltiness during my last visit. Despite it even being served with the bread, it still left a slightly salty aftertaste. However, the snails were well cooked and nicely chewy. The other times I've enjoyed this dish more and it's not everyday where you can try snails so I would still recommend this specific dish.

◌ BOUILLABAISSE DE MARSEILLE 🐟
Both my partner and I preferred this dish over the other entree. The seafood broth was thick but not overpowering and tasted deliciously hearty with the seafood. By the times we finished these dishes we were already quite satisfied since what we've had was quite rich and they've given us generous servings.

◌ KANGAROO FILLET 🥔
The. Potato. Puree. Absolutely divine. It was very creamy and smooth and flavoured just a little bit in order for the honey bordelaise sauce to cut through. Kangaroo fillet is usually very tough and not very flavoursome but this was almost like a medium-rare steak with how delightfully chewy it was. I love eating cooked vegetables so the spinach leaves were a nice touch to this dish.

◌ FILLET OF BEEF TENDERLOIN 🐂🥔
Our servers had looked after in making sure that the meats were cooked to our liking which I appreciated. I enjoyed the kangaroo fillet more purely on the potato puree but the beef tenderloin was especially lush with the red wine jus. Both the dishes were very rich with flavour and with such large portions we were definitely satisfied polishing these off.

◌ WARM STICKY DATE PUDDING 🍯
The sticky date pudding was a decadent finish to our three-course meal. Every course had a more than generous serving. The butterscotch was almost overpowering the dish since the sticky date was bathed in it but the French vanilla ice cream helped balance it out.

◌ CHEF CHURNED HAZELNUT AND PRALINE ICE CREAM 🍦 🍪
I had to get the ice cream because who doesn't love indulging in ice cream after eating a rich hearty meal. With everything so distinctively savoury, I did enjoy diving into some sweet, sweet dessert. It came on top of the on sable Breton with gave more texture to the dish.

Ambience
☆☆☆☆
It's located in Pyrmont near the heart of Sydney and just a few minutes walk away from the star. The restaurant is semi-fancy and a little outdated but it somewhat adds to the charm of it. The restaurant is two stories high and you get a nice view when you're sitting on the top floor.

Service
☆☆☆☆
The servers were attentive of our needs but since it was quite busy it did take a while for our food to come and they were slightly rushed with the number of people that they had to serve. They did seem very passionate about the dishes and truly did seem to want to represent French cuisine in the best manner possible

Overall 🍴
☆☆☆☆
This will be a lovely date night with your partner or somewhere that you want to take a close relative or friend for a special night without breaking the bank. I probably wouldn't opt to come here if I didn't use the Groupon ($92 for two people for a three-course meal complete with a drink) but it definitely does have a generous serving size for their dishes (we were positively hobbling out the door by the end of it). I've been to this place multiple times and the food has never disappointed me.
The Gene Genie
Wow...... the food was excellent
Very busy restaurant but never felt rushed and when food arrived it was delicious.
Serving sizes spot on
Would love to eat here again if we come back to Sydney
Sir And Mlady Dine Out
The term icon is often bandied around rather arbitrarily these days but it's fair to say it's an appropriate fit for The Little Snail. This place has been around since the French Revolution - well maybe not quite that long. Sitting on a prime sunny corner in Pyrmont, they serve affordable and tasty French food to the eager Sydney market.
Jasmine
An average tasting food. Definitely better if you book through Groupon. Personally I wouldn't dine here at the full priced mark. Our entrees were good, the seafood soup was a bit bland to us, snails were ok. Mains were better. Pasta was very tasty, cooked al dente. Duck was crispy and juicy. Desserts were a big no though. I didn't enjoy the profiterole at all, it was hard. The ice cream was so so, all I could taste was rum.
Truc Tran
Having heard about the restaurant a lot before having been there. However, in the main set there was not a snail dish for main. Maybe because I ordered 3 course menu which is worth 65 AUD.

The restaurant vibe is at the average but the entree and main dishes are terrific! I would love to come back to enjoy the kangaroo fillet with its fantastic honey sauce.

Recommend for those people who love enjoying main dishes rather than desserts.
Manz
$65 for a 3 course menu is definitely very reasonably priced. Quality of the dishes were a bit of a mix bag. I quite enjoy my selections, particularly the escargots, the tenderloin was ok, but a little chewy in parts. My friends didn’t like their pate, nor the profiterole. The other dishes were ok. Serving sizes were also quite generous.
Jimmy Sun
Had a very good night at little snail. Three of us had their signature snail entree as well as the prawn linguine. Highly recommend have the fish soup as the entree.
Sushi Slayer
Came here at the evening for Friends birthday, heard it make authentic French cuisine. We tried out most of the dish on the menu, I’d say the overall is 4/5 except the red wine beef steak was a solid 5/5 ( I loooove it) and it is probably the only dish that would keep me going there again. It is better to go there during lunch time cuz it is much cheaper than the evening hour
Albert Chen
Mediocre French cuisine.

The entree (duck liver)was not too bad. The main was a huge disappointment, the lamb was neither tender nor delicious. The display of main was crap as I did not take a photo at all. The dessert was way to sweet.

However, the value was ok as purchased it from Groupon. Would give it 3-3.5 out of 5.
FoodLuva
The snails were very good. The pate was average.
The mains were really not as good as I expected - the salmon had a strange red sauce that just didn’t work for me. The kangaroo was the best of the lot. The desserts looked good but did not taste as good as they looked, they were by no means bad though.
Friendly service and good location.

I came here on a rainy Saturday night with my parents and fiancée using a prepaid Groupon voucher which entitled us to an entree, main and dessert and a glass of wine each.

Food: Entrees - I ordered the duck liver pate which was a very generous portion and very smooth. My fiancée ordered the seafood soup which was well presented but quite bland and a tad unseasoned.

Mains - the veal was delicious. It was tender and the sauce was properly cooked, creamy and balanced the savouriness of the meat well. The croquette was awesome - perfectly crisped on the outside and creamy as the best mash potato on the inside.

My fiancée ordered the crispy skin duck. It was slightly tough but very crispy and the raspberry sauce complimented it surprisingly well.

Dessert - these were the highlights of the meal. I ordered the Belgian chocolate cake which was moist and creamy but not too sweet. Similarly the chocolate mousse was really smooth but not loaded with excess sweetness.

Service and ambience: really friendly wait staff with near perfect timing between each course. Unfortunately it was really loud on the upper floor so hearing took a bit of extra effort.

Value: for $44 per person for 3 courses and wine this was a bargain. Definitely recommend it as an easy gift for a parent. What's even better is that the Groupon doesn't confine your menu choices!

Overall the Little Snail is a buzzing French kitchen which serves high quality food at fair prices. Worth a visit if you find yourself wanting a hearty meal in Pyrmont or need a fun gift for family.

I've been there a couple of times for lunch. It's absolutely super value for money - $39 for three courses for a fine dining experience. It has two levels with plenty of space, a good place for either groups or couples. Pate is my favorite on the menu.

Found this gem as we were staying in a hotel nearby the harbour.. the atmosphere was great, staffs were friendly and attentive. The food is so worth it especially the lunch set menu. Portions are relatively much bigger than the usual French dining you can expect so ensure you are really hungry when you eat here. The snails were superb, and the stick date pudding was so good. The seafood platter was massive and definitely recommended. Can get very busy during lunch time so be sure to book in.
Jlovesssfood
Went to The Little Snail since there were so many good reviews and we had two dinner sets to share.

Escargot was a must-order with its aromatic garlic butter that went really well with the toasts, while the duck liver pate was not bad but nothing too special.
Duck breast fillet was a bit overcooked and we could tell right away when it was served. Luckily the meat was still tender and the raspberry sauce did save the day. Fillet of beef tenderloin was pretty standard and nicely cooked to medium rare.
Highlights of the meal (to me) were sticky date pudding and hazelnut and praline ice cream. The former was moist, soft and full of sweet caramel sauce whereas the ice cream was lighter option with pronounced hazelnut flavour.

Overall food is not as great as expected but honestly not too much to complain with that $62 price tag.
Came here on a groupon deal for 2 people and it was amazing. Really yummy food, very decent serves (had to takeaway some because we were so full), very fast service, very attentive service (using my name to address me for example), was able to customise the experience (we needed to be finished by an hour) and also allowed us to use the coupon after it expired (I contacted them before it expired). Would not hesit8 to r8 8/8 m8 (although Zomato only allows 5/5)

It's amazing French cuisine! Services is quick and nice, the food is delicious, especially the beef for main course, the presentation is perfect. I like ice cream hazelnut most as dessert. A place will go by many many times.

Great service and atmosphere! The dishes were all great and it’s quite a good price for fine dining! The snails here are great and the desserts here are delicious!

A decent restaurant
the service is not bad and the food was also decent
their lamb chops were cooked very nicely
Probably wouldn’t go back again

Had a Sunday lunch here for $39pp which is amazing! The snails were pretty good, but the buttery garlic sauce brings it home. All the mains were beautiful and we were completely stuffed by the time desserts arrived. Service was excellent, our servers were all young French people! Will definitely be back.

We experienced great service with a warm atmosphere which set a romantic yet relaxed mood.
We ordered:
-Salt and pepper calamari: the Panko crumb was light and flavourful and the calamari tasted fresher than my outfit
-escargot (snails): as always I enjoyed my garlic butter soup
Mains
- beef tenderloin: they don’t call it TENDERloin for nothing. Ordered a medium rare and it was perfect.
- duck: the skin was crispy and the meat was cooked perfectly. Pink in the centre and the baby spinach on the side was a good palette cleanser.
Desserts
-sticky date pudding: very warm and sweet like my bf
-hazelnut ice cream: very cold and sweet like my gf

4 thumbs up and 2 happy faces

The Little Snail never disappoints ! I’ve been here many times and have tried the whole menu. All dishes are superb but my all time favourite is the beer tenderloin. Staff is always friendly and has a great location. They say casual dining but present themselves as fine dining. Highly recommended!

Optimal customer service and food was great!
I used a Groupon coupon for my first time here.

I loved how polite and patient the employees were as my partner and I took a while with the menu. I took my partner here for our first anniversary and requested for seating with a view and informed them that we were celebrating our anniversary. I had not expected how lovely they would be and they wrote "Happy Anniversary" just above our desserts and attempted to take photos with my phone of myself and my partner together as well! The chocolate writing above the desserts was such a pleasant surprise it made my day. A waitress quickly came around to help take the photos of us as well. They were so lovely! Perfect customer service 👌

The food was great too. I particularly enjoyed the crispy skin duck and buttery escargot from the dinner menu. Definitely two of my favourite dishes! I will be sure to return for these in the future with some friends!
Natasha Juchkov (Culinary Runway)
I have little experience with French cuisine, but after hearing many good things about The Little Snail, I thought I'd go here for a special birthday, and it did not disappoint! We went for lunch, and the menu is very similar to the dinner menu, bar a few items, plus much cheaper. $39 will get you a 3 course meal at lunch versus $62 for dinner. You can also order a la carte but I recommend the 3 courses.
HungryBabesSugarApe
Top notch establishment with good service and value. We where there on a Fri evening and it’s was pretty busy. Both had the dinner set. Started with the escargots and seafood bisque. Then we had the duck and seafood platter before finishing with the profiteroles and date pudding. Yums!

Why I didn’t give a ten was that the stuff greeting us at the door had a face as sour as wine left out in the sun. The other wait staff were very attentive but for some reason he felt unhappy to attend us.

Btw the restaurant actually sent a thank you text the day after. Small things that make your establishment stand out. Good on ya!
Gugu_Chailatte
A nice French restaurant. Went there with Groupon voucher so it was really value for money.

I liked the escargot for entree. The garlic butter was really yummy! The main duck dish was delicious with crispy skin, a hint of Smokey flavor and raspberry sauce to balance out the rich flavor. The sticky date pudding was a bit too sweet to my liking but can’t fault it for the beautiful presentation!

The staff and ambience are really friendly. Not sure if it should be considered fine dinning but would likely to go there again.
Tiffany
It's a great place to enjoy dinner with your love one and enjoy the view. Staffs are well trained and friendly. Food are goo .and up to standard. Will go back to try something else
Shelley
If I could give this place 10 stars I would!!! Amazing food, can not fault any meal, the snails were so yummy one of the best I’ve had, the salmon risotto was very tasty and they have certainly nailed the sticky date pudding best I’ve ever had!!!!
Jennifer. H
Bought the $88 voucher for two with three courses and a cocktail and loved the restaurant! We had the Escargot and seafood soup for entree, salmon and Veal for main and finished off with sticky date pudding and caramel ice-cream🍦 i would definitely come back for the 🐌 ❤️

I came for lunch with my husband on Saturday. The service was friendly, the ambience was pleasant & homey, the food was quick to be served, and the price is reasonable. Here are our orders:
- Entrees
Escargot: it's juicy, highly recommended
Calamari: it's okay, but we loved the escargot more

- Mains
Seafood plate: we really loved it, it's fresh & well cooked.
Veal: quite nice, but we loved seafood plate more.

- Desserts
Sticky Date Pudding & Chocolate Mousse
Both of us are not really sweet tooth, so we found both sticky date pudding and the chocolate mousse were too sweet for our tastebuds.

Overall, we're satisfied with all of aspects of the restaurant.
Evelyn Chen
This French restaurant is amazing! The dishes met my taste very well, not so greasy, just to the point. The fillet was excellent. The dessert ice cream was a perfect combination with caramel and almond cake. The snail tastes a bit light. That's the only problem.
Louise Zheng
Bought the group voucher for 10 people and we were able to order anything from the menu (except for drinks) we were very happy for the price we paid. We tried everything on the menu and the entrees and the main are absolutely beautiful, the only downside are the desserts, too sweet for my liking. Service wise, I feel we were rushed to order our food, and there weren’t much of a ‘service ‘ there, food ordered, food comes and that is it, definitely can not be classified as fine dining. Overall, I do recommend this restaurant, good place for lunch.
Much Ado About Food
We came here for my friend's birthday and had a great meal - some of which we simply devoured because it was so good we didn't have time to take photos of it!

The escargots and the desserts were the dishes that stood out most for me. I particularly enjoyed the escargots because it's one of those delicacies that I've always liked but don't get to have very often. These were marinated in herb-infused court bouillon, oven baked in garlic butter and they did not disappoint. The herbs were a bit on the stronger side in taste, but the tenderness and juices of the escargots helped balance this out. And dessert is always one of my favourite parts of a 3 course meal!

Also note-worthy was the veal tenderloin with champignon and chardonnay beurre blanc, served with potato croquette and seasonal greens. The sauce was tantalising and the veal was cooked with just enough pink in the middle but still tender and succulent - not many people get this right!

For dessert my husband and I had (and shared between us) the handmade profiterole with crème patisserie and chocolate sauce and warm sticky date pudding with butterscotch and French vanilla ice cream. These were both delicious and we could find no flaw even if we wanted to!

My friends had the classic crème caramel and the chef churned hazelnut and praline ice cream on sable breton and Grand Marnier. Both said these were amazing, too.

The restaurant had a very elegant ambience to it and it is definitely of the fine dining calibre. It had a large space and because tables were spaced apart quite reasonably, we felt like we had a little private area by ourselves. We also sat by the window and had a nice little city view. The service was fantastic with wonderfully friendly and helpful staff.

The cost is on the higher side, but the quality of food is worth it and it's not like you'd be eating here every day. It's definitely a one of those places you'd go for a special occasion or simply as a sporadic treat it date night! Would definitely love to come back here whenever we visit Sydney again and highly recommend.

www.thejennichronicles.com

This restaurant was my first try at french dining and I would say it satiated my taste bud enroute.Me and my husband tried snail as starters and lamb, duck as mains. The half done lamb stole my heart away.Traditionally duck meat is stiff but here the duck was also so perfectly cooked that took us surprised. Finally the death by chocolate deserts were something one can’t afford to miss. Not to forget the serene yet romantic ambience of the restaurant and friendly staff who were more than eager to help us choose the menu.Overall this restaurant is a must visit for anyone who want to explore the french delicacy.

I have been to the Little Snail for more than 5 times and have never been disappointed with the food or service. For the lunch special, the food is reasonably priced and tastes great.

Chocolate mousse was light, fluffy and strong in flavour. The fresh strawberry with a light sugar syrup complimented the mousse, giving it hints of sweetness and sourness.

Sticky date pudding with butterscotch sauce was to die for! The cake was dense but also light at the same time. The date flavour was strong and was complimented wonderfully with the butterscotch sauce.

Entrèe: Salt & Pepper Squid, Salmon Roulade and Mushroom & Leek Crepe
Mains: Cote De Veau, Magret De Canard and Tasmanian Salmon
Desset: Profiterole, Warm Sticky Date Pudding and Chocolate Gateau
Sides: Chilli cheese and honey bread and French Fries

We used groupon voucher and were very pleased with the food and service. We sat on first floor right by the window. The service was quick and our order was taken quickly. All meals were served quickly. Food was great quality and portion size were apt. Highly recommended.

Team appreciation lunch at The little snail restaurant in Pyrmont. They have a 3 course lunch menu for $39 (entree, mains, dessert) bargain! My choice was:
- duck pate maison
- seafood plate (salmon, mussel, prawns, squid, soft shell crab)
- warm sticky date pudding
I also shared the escargot and chef churned hazelnut and praline ice cream with my colleague. So yummy! Feedback also was the kangaroo filler is great. Worth a visit!

The Little Snail is a Darling Harbour institution which is constantly brimmed with tourists and visitors. The contemporary restaurant offers some conventional French restaurant fare but absolutely limited range of wines and spirits (almost non-existent)

My entree began with a dozen Escargots de Bourgogne or snails marinated in herb-infused court boullion and oven baked in garlic butter. The escargots were some of the worst I had tried. Limp and dry, the escargots appeared “dead” for a long time and lacked freshness.

The Magret de Canard, or crispy duck breast fillet with wok tossed spinach, was dry, overfried and rough. The duck breast was absolutely hard and it took me a long time to finish chewing each pieces of duck meat. 🤢🤢

We got the groupon deal for this restaurant and were treated to a great dinner out. Would recommend the seafood platter, bouillabaisse and sticky date pudding.

Over all worth the price 👍🏻 If you like something "cheesy" the veal is a good choice but if you are in the mood for something more "barbecue" than the kangaroo fillet is the way to go. The escargot was ok, worth the try but definitely not the best. Chocolate mouse was delicious.

Had the 3 course menu. Authentic service. Very attentive and respectful. Food portions were generous and rich. Very pleasant atmosphere tucked away in Darling Harbour.

SNAILLLLLLS ... enjoyed the experience. Loved how it had a great "fine dining" service whilst being quite a casual place to eat. The set 3 course meal was very filling and satisfying. Great place to bring a date me thinks:) Seafood plate had variety and was big. The snail sauce was super Yum... so good I'm sure if you dripped it on to any object you could eat it ...Passionfruit cocktail was average ... wish I ordered the red.

Find us on instagram: loveatfirstbite_aus

The Little Snail is French restaurant located in Pyrmont situated in a modern dining room with a la carte and set menus. We came here to celebrate a friend’s birthday and ordered three courses. For the entree, I ordered the salmon roulade, filled with herb cheese mousseline, served with potato nest and passion fruit dressing. This was a good dish to start off with, the salmon was light and went well with the creamy herbed cheese and the sweet and tangy passion fruit dressing.

Bare in mind it's $44pp groupon

We came here on a Monday night and were quite surprised how busy they were.

The voucher gives us a three course meal and an alcoholic drink.

The waiter was prompt to get our order even when I showed very clear signal that I was not ready. I don't like pushy waiter. He stood there until he got my order.

Got us drinks but no water offered.

We ordered the snail dish and pate for entree, seafood platter and duck for main, cream caramel and sticky date for dessert.

Savoury food is below average. Dessert was alright.

Got my dessert cleared while still having it. It was not even 8pm, why the rush?

Overall, food was below average, service was alright but too pushy and kinda ruined my mood for dinner. On the bright side, it was cheap.
Jennifer
Service was good here although where we were seated felt abit awkward, also didn't really have a French vibe to it.
The food was good though, for someone who freaked out about eating snails, I really enjoyed the escargot! The beef fillet was pretty standard, not that great but still nice. I LOVED my dessert - sticky date pudding. It was warm and everything went well together, this was probably my favourite dish of the night!

Came here for celebrate the birthday , foods is fresh and the duck cook perfectly. The portion of foods is in a good size in term of the price.

Staff is great, menu is great, 3 course meals are affordable. Such a lovely place to go to for a finer dining experience that is affordable.

I have been to this restaurant numerous times and every time I come dine here my experience is always great. The wait staff are so friendly and offer great service. I really recommend that you try these dishes:
1. Mushroom and Leek Crepe
2. Pate Maisons
3. Filet of Beef Tenderloon
4. Loin of Lamb
5. Sticky Date pudding
All of these were to die for and I always come back for them every now and then!
1900.
Went on Groupon voucher. Great value of money. Very friendly staff. My friends and I all loved their entries, especially the snail! So good. Mains were not as impressive as entries. More like Australian rather than French(?) But the kangaroo meat was great. For desserts, half of my friends thought the pudding was too sweet, the the rest loved it. So it really depends on person. But the hazelnuts ice cream was so nice. May go again for their snails :)

It always has Groupon voucher deals ($88 for two) so I tried it with my friend. French snail(dozen) is a good choice of entry for people who never tried snails before. For dessert, I think sticky pudding is better than chocolate mousse. The only disappointment is that even we went there on Monday evening, we were still arranged at Groupon section, which is the corner on ground floor.

Dined on a Saturday night with no booking. Staff attentive and friendly for this solo diner but not encroaching. $60 for 3 courses good value for money with great variety on offer. Went for classic- escargot and veal and creme brule. Added in bruschetta. All tasty and seasoned well. I'd go back (next time I'm in Sydney)!

Went here with the Groupon $45 deal which is normally $60. Three courses with lots of choices in each course. The entree of Boullibasse was nice. The main of kangaroo was delicious and the cheese rounded off a nice French meal. Not amazing but worth a visit for good quality food in a nice location.

This place was a great dining experience given that it was purchased as a Groupon voucher. Every dish was enjoyable in its own way and very filling. Would highly recommend the beef tenderloin if you love steak. I didn't expect the atmosphere to be very noisy but the staff were nice and accommodating. I also found that the seating arrangements were very cramped. Should definitely check out this place if you were after a lower budget restaurant that serves a little higher quality food

Wonderful experience. Good food and service. 60 dollars 3 courses. This is a reasonable price. I strongly recommend to have meal in The Little Snail.

We were a group of 6 people with a Groupon voucher. The food was absolutely amazing no doubt about that. However, what we were absolutely upset about was the table arrangement and our comfort. It was very hot at that restaurant and some tables had fans next to them. We requested for a fan twice, and when it eventually arrived it was placed at someone else's table as he was a bit more vocal then we were about the aircon not working. The doors and windows were all shut and were only opened after we finished our meal! The staff were friendly but were not sympathetic enough to make us feel comfortable. We just focussed on our meals and getting out of there! I guess this place is good to visit in cooler weather!

I visited this restaurant with a friend after it was highly recommended to myself by many people. The building is very beautiful and classic. We ordered the escargot with a side of the chilli, cheese and honey bread as our entree. The garlic sauce with the escargot was divine. We couldn't get enough of it and soaked up the last few drops with the slices of fresh baguette that accompanied the dish. The chilli, cheese and honey bread was also delicious! Highly recommend. I had the veal as my main which was very yummy. The potato croquette was especially good. My friend had the vegetarian risotto, which she assured me was delicious. And we shared the sticky date for dessert, which unfortunately we were too full to finish. The portion sizes are very reasonable, all the waiters were lovely, however I would have expected- given the price and atmosphere of the place- that the service would be more professional. Very pleased regardless, and would return to try more of their menu.

The Little Snail is a pretty well-known restaurant in Sydney serving French cuisine. I remember when I was studying French way back in high school there was an excursion organised to eat here -especially to try those famous French snails. It's changed location a few times but still remains popular. The menu consists of 3 courses for ~$65 but they do also do the occasional groupon deal as well which includes a drink. The menu is simple but tasty.

Dined here a few months back with no voucher.

We opted for the 3 course dinner, I think the menu differs slightly from the voucher menu but all in all the same.

Service was good, food came out at a good pace & we were seated at an ok table but considering we were not voucher customers I think you should give us better seating & especially if we requested it prior to dining on the night.

Onto the food, I have been here years before & it was just as good as it was before, nice flavours but I can't help but feel they churn the food out like it's mass produced for some of the dishes (can't pin point it but there is something - maybe some elements like the sauces & the vegetables). Highlights was the bouillabaisse de marseille (seafood soup), beef & lamb mains were cooked fantastic & melted in your mouth & the desserts were great too.

All in all it is approx $60 for a 3 course dinner or even cheaper if you have a voucher. Good value either way & a great introduction to French food (I haven't been to France so I am no expert).

I've been to this restaurant a few times. It has gotten quite busy and it's not as romantic as it used to be, unlike a typical quiet French type of restaurant. The night we went it was very loud and busy. The waiters were very busy however the food and service was still very much up to standard. The food was cooked well and tasted really nice as usual.
Annie Phan
Been here twice and had the 3 course dinner on both occasions. The food and service at little snail was delightful and can't wait to come here again to try the other dishes on the menu!
Jade
We had the three course dinner for $60 and I found it to be great value for money. The food was quite delicious. You can tell it's not at the same level of fine dining, where everything is intricately prepared but you wouldn't expect that for $60 either. Good, casual feel and I was delightfully surprised by how good the food was. Great spot for groups.

Been here a couple of times, definitely worth a try although the snails is a bit of a let down considering they are known for this dish. Location is great!
Tanya
The food was definitely not fresh. It is no wonder they've moved on to selling Groupons for people to come in and try the food. We ordered:
Entrees:
- Escargot: absolutely shocking. The garlic butter sauce was extremely salty and the snails were overcooked and chewy.
- Pate: Another let down. The pate was definitely not fresh and was hard to swallow. The bread that came with it was quite stale and limited. I have honestly eaten better canned pate than what came out. Presentation was ok though.

Both dishes were quick to come out, obviously had been premade and quite cold as well.

Mains:
- Beef fillet: I ordered this medium rare, it came out almost blue. The gravy that came on the top was extremely salty and left a bad taste in my mouth. Not to mention that the potato side tasted like it came from a frozen meal at Coles. I was really disappointed with this meal.
- Duck: The duck was overcooked, it was very chewy and the raspberry sauce tasted of preserved syrup. Nothing at all fresh about this dish other than the wilted spinach which had no flavour.

Dessert:
- Creme Caramel: Another disappointed. I ordered this one from all the positive reviews but was shocked when it came out. This tasted quite standard and I've honestly had better creme caramel from the supermarket. The sauce was quite inconsistent as well- one side was completely watery while the other side was super sticky from sugar syrup.
- Sticky Date Pudding: The only nice dish of the night. Everything worked well together and the sticky date was warm throughout. Very good presentation as well.

Overall, I wouldn't go back to this restaurant. It also wasn't worth the Groupon voucher. Come here with caution, I guess it was an ok experience for the price.

Dined at The Little Snail Restaurant with a Groupon voucher for the 3 course dinner with cocktails/wine and my family and I had a great time! The service is really fast and friendly, and the food is all really good too! My recommendations are the escargots (can't visit without at least trying these), kangaroo fillet, and magret de canard (crispy duck skin fillet). We tried a good majority of the menu so be sure to check out my blog post for all the details

Went with a scoopon voucher and so happy to discover a restaurant with such good value (even without the deal)! The staff were very helpful and the dish serving was unbelievably fast. Taste was almost perfect. Love all of the dishes but will highly recommend the following: snails, seafood soup, duck liver pate, seafood plate, beef steak and sticky date pudding!

One of my top go to list in Sydney is The Little Snail Restaurant. This restaurant provides fine dining experience inside a tall glasses window building with a little bit antique touch interior to it. ESCARGOTS DE BOURGOGNE. dozen snails marinated in herb-infused court bouillon, oven baked in garlic butter.
Emma
Came here on a whim with the family. Super busy and a good menu. Paid full price of $60 for a three course meal. We all agreed it was the bests meal out we've ever had! I had the duck, spinach & rasperry sauce for the main, absolutely delicious!!! The rest had Tasmanian salmon & loin of lamb, absolutely no faults! Service was quick & friendly! 100% worth $60 :)
JSCH
came here using groupon voucher. 3courses & cocktail
tried their seafood plater, the prawn was absolutely awesome & fresh! the dessert was the highlight! super love the sticky date pudding.
friendly staffs & good service!
Fine dining on a voucher. I gota say, the quality was impressive as well as their service. $43 pp for a 3 course dinner was apparently half price according to groupon. But if you go during lunch, its $38 without a voucher...hm. All the dishes were delicious, making the exception of the escargot, an acquired taste. Wouldn't mind coming again.

This place as always never disappoints. Enjoyed a lovely 3 course lunch with my family for my birthday.
Friendly service, but not obtrusive. Evening on the set menu they were happy to help easily with dietary requirements without any issues or making you feel awkward. There was something for everyone at our table.
Great experience and food. Looking forward to coming back yet again.

Food is below average. The worst thing is everything comes out quite cold, feels like they been warmed up in a microwave n not freshly made. The snails are not as good as I expected, buttery n semi warm...The staff is polite n nice except for the bald guy upstair, he looks like he had a bad day and cant wait to get rid of all customers, cbf to say anything back when I asked for some napkins. They should increase the prices and serve better quality food rather than this half way decent dining style. Not value worthy.
Carmen
Overall a nice place for value. Portions are decent for the value you're paying.

I enjoyed the dessert, although the food remains quite average. For the main I was happy with the seafood plate. There was a lot more on the plate than my friend who ordered the salmon.

Service was very attentive. We were a large group so it took a while for the food to come out. (the first half of the group were done by the time our food came out)

Overall a good location with easy access to the star or harbour side parking.

Consistently great. Been a regular for over 15 years. Menu doesn't really change much, but it's good! Hearty servings, reasonably priced, nicely presented and consistent!!!

This is my second time here. The food and service were really great! For entree, my friend and I had snails and French seafood soup, the soup was surprisingly yummy! I didn't expect this at all as I barely have soup as an entree. For mains, I had duck and prawn linguini. Duck plate never disappoint me since my first time! It was great and mouthwatering. My friend really enjoyed it. The prawn linguini was delicious, a bit spicy for who loves chilli. They also served with a generous amount of pasta and prawn which would fill you up quickly. I love the caramel flan cake! So rich in flavour, meanwhile the chocolate pudding was also good and a bit sweet for me. Overall it is definitely worth it to come here :)
Up And Adam!
I went to the little snail with a Groupon voucher and was not disappointed! Both the escargot and the seafood soup entrees were outstanding in quality and packed with flavour. We had lamb and kangaroo for mains and both were cooked to perfection, with the meat being lean, juicy and tender. I also really enjoyed the chocolate cake for dessert.
The venue is quite good and our table had some pretty nice views of the Sydney skyline. The dining room was spacious and not too loud, so I think this restaurant would be good for a party.
The staff are very helpful, friendly and the service was fast.
Fantastic place for a meal.

Came here after reading some reviews. Had 3 course dinner. Worth for its price. Had their famous snail with butter and garlic. Garlic a bit too salty. Taste is satisfactory. Will need more bread to go with it. We had seafood and duck for main. The seafood platter is really good. Love their sticky date pudding for dessert. The chocolate mousse a bit too rich for us. Overall, good food.

Have been here a couple times after walking past the iconic sign so many times in Darling Harbour.
The Menu usually consists of a set menu where you can pick an option for entree, main and dessert. The menu is fairly manageable with something for everyone, personally I find the food pretty good value and alright overall.
The service is lovely however the restaurant is in big need for a refurbish and renovation, it feels quite dated as you walk in and the overall vibe is pretty drab.

Overall a good restaurant with great value for the quality of food.
Yifan Wang
The service was good. It was just a busy restaurant because of the location which is very close to the start of the bridge in Pyrmont. I ordered snail for the entree and duck for the main. Both of them were fantastic. French are always able to make amazing food. French food is definitely the best European food.
Edwin Handoko
got the escargots as entree, tasmanian salmon as main and pudding as dessert. all perfect. however, services were a bit slow and portions were small. overall, 4.0/5.0
Michael Li
Went with mother for her birthday, and took the $38pp lunch offer of 3 courses. Was not disappointed. The service was definitely above average to my standards, the seating was comfortable, and open spaced, noise levels were definitely to my liking (not too loud nor soft), food was survived quite efficiently actually, in conjunction to some well thought out food presentation which was complemented by their quality tastes.

Key recommendations (my dishes): Snails for entree, Chicken Kiev for main (although i felt that dish was a bit empty), and the sticky date cake for dessert. Would recommend this place for all! Definitely a quality mother's day gift to spoil her!
Joan Uy
Good value for money. Food is amazing and service is great. Can't complain. Steak and lamb were cooked to perfection. All the desserts we've tried so far have been really good.
