LP’s is set to close and become a purely wholesale. We had heard this place was good so had to make sure we visited before it’s closure. In the backstreets of Chippendale, you will find this neighbourhood restaurant, reminiscent of a German beer hall. It is a huge kitchen and bar encompassing the whole right hand side of the restaurant. The left side has plenty of long communal tables.

Delicious meats & sides here at LP’s
I loved the low lit, intimacy of the restaurant. It felt fancy but also casual at the same time, especially sitting up on the high tables.
The meat here was a highlight & stand out.
The wagyu tartare was so yummy. It was tender but also a bit chewey which I loved. The sauce was acidic which cut through the rich wagyu.
The octopus was a bit on the chewey side but BBQ’d so nicely & had a good smokey flavour.
The lamb ribs that were ordered were so beautifully cooked. The meat fell off the bone & was so tasty. The sauces it was served with were all very different, from being very zesty to spicy, which gave a good choice of flavour to pair the lamb with.
I loved the pumpkin salad, which added some volume to the meal & filled me up.
The service was really nice & gave us some awesome recommendations on dishes to try which was great
Polite, super friendly and considerate. Food was fantastic. Strongly recommend the trout!!! Lamb was very tender, slight saltier than my taste though.
LP’s Quality Meats is a meat lovers paradise. I am not much of a meat eater but wanted to try it nonetheless as I had heard so much about it. It’s quality meat indeed. We had the Chef’s Menu for $70 and there was more than enough food. The meat was tasty, packed with flavour and cooked to perfection. The salads were lovely, especially the cucumber one (pictured). The highlight for me was a Canadian sweet called Pouding Chomeur (pictured) for dessert. It’s a maple and pecan pudding that is luscious and I think the ultimate comfort food. #meatlover #chippendale
Heaven for meat lovers! I visited as a group of 6 including 2 kids and everyone had a great time. We had the croquettes, smoked wagyu and pate for starters and all were polished off. For the mains we ordered the Smoked beef rib, and 1.2kgs of Dry aged rib steak both perfectly done. The photos isn’t to scale but they were huge and definitely enough to share between us. Would definitely revisit.
While initially ambivalent about coming here because of the whopping price of one rib ($59), we wanted to see what all the fuss was about and to our delight, LP quality meats did not disappoint. That beef rib was insanely good. We also got the porchetta which was also very tasty but perhaps a bit too fatty for my liking and I’d probably try their other dishes next visit.
Service was top notch, the staff were hella friendly and attentive despite the busyness of the restaurant.
Can’t wait to visit this place again!
Absolutely agree with its name - quality meats! They serve fantastic homemade cold cuts, sausages, pork belly and ox tongue. It was too dark to take good photos, but the ox tongue was so tender that I had to upload a photo of it. Everything we ordered was delicious and can’t wait to come back again.
Finally managed to check this place out! Make sure you book beforehand, this place is popular. The smoked beef ribs and the beef tartare were super delicious! We tried the sausage as well which was very tasty too. The asparagus came with amazing sauce! Definitely recommend this place. Service was lovely too!
Great tongue, beautiful cut, nice texture, very tender, the fennel pork porchetta, was excellent as well. Sadly service was a bit mediocre. If felt like a great place, great food, ran by some kids staff from Hungry Jacks
Meat eaters heaven!!! Think Beef Ribs the size of a Tyrannasaurus Rex with meat that melts off the bone like butter, Picture Porchetta or Lamb with an flavoursome combinations stuffing at Iuts centre. Awesome service with staff whi know and csn recommend items on the menu like its the back of their hand and an open kitchen that provides a centrepiece for conversation of dishes (including yours) are prepared in a fashion that its drool worthy.
A very quality restaurant for your meat cravings. We haven't been back to this restaurant for a long time and they've made some changes to their menu. Nevertheless, everything we had here was executed to perfection. The service was impeccable. The highlight is definitely their lamb dish, it was super tender and succulent. It also comes with a side of roasted veggies.
I stumbled across the restaurant before work with a hurt foot. The staff not only accommodated me to sit in a low set table while the restaurant is fully booked. But also brought alcohol wipe and tissue for me to stop the bleed. Not to mention the food is high quality also.
I left the bag there and when I got it back everything is in their place! Highly recommended! It’s not only the food but also the well trained, happy, compassionate staff there!
Another weekend, another restaurant to visit 🍽 This week we visited one of our must-visit-restaurant LP’s Quality Meats. Name is a little mouthful but boy did we got our mouth stuffed with so much good food! We got the most creamy liver parfait, the juiciest lamb, and smokey potatoes, but our favourite has to be the perfectly sliced 3-ways charcuterie(1st pic)! Definitely coming back in the not so distant future for more of these luncheon meats 😍
Went to dinner with a friend, the style of the restaurant is definitely aimed to be more share plates than meals, we had the mussels, smoked chicken and a charcuterie style entree to share. We sat at the bar, and the restaurant got busy fairly quickly.
The meals were nice and the drinks were also good. It was a nice hidden option, for those who love to explore the hidden gems of Sydney! Luckily I was with a friend who knew the way... love it!
Happened across this establishment by chance. Tasty food, excellent friendly engaged service. We enjoyed a light snack of oysters, steak tartare, charcuterie plate bread and butter. Thoroughly recommend
Great place with nice atmosphere and exceptional dry age. Keep in mind that in flavour it is much stronger than a standard steak so 800 g for 2 seemed a perfect quantity before it got overpowering. Definitely going to come back! PS nice pickled vegies! :D
Amazing experience, can’t rate this beautiful restaurant enough! Food, service, atmosphere all 10/10.

In the backstreets of Chippendale, you will find this neighbourhood restaurant, reminiscent of a German beer hall. It is a huge kitchen and bar encompassing the whole right hand side of the restaurant. The left side has plenty of long communal tables.
Staff know their stuff and confidently walk around in their T-shirts, with “LP’s Meats” lettered on their backs with high waisted denim to fit the inner city vibe.
LP’s Quality Meats focuses on their cold cuts, smoked meats and beef cuts. There are vegetables too, which are also very tasty.
LP's have a delicious cured ocean trout on the starters list, a generous portion and served with a with cultured cream, the flavour combinations were spot on.
The chicken is our favourite - moist meat with a nice smoked flavour, you can order a whole or half portion. The Porchetta is also very good, deboned and cooked in a roll with a thin layer of crisp skin, so very succulent. There are also some dry aged steaks cuts to choose from, we went with the dry aged sirloin, which was cooked as we ordered and served with a lemon wedge, simple and allowing you to savor the flavour of the beef. This was charged per 100g.
The sides were all very enjoyable too. The buttered carrots were quite rustic, served whole and were extremely tasty. The asparagus cooked perfectly a bit of crunch and topped with an egg yolk to make it a little more exciting. We also had the butter lettuce and fine herbs, nice and fresh, with plenty of dill which stood out in a good way. The corn on the cobb maybe a little over, also very buttery, and butter does equal flavour.
The desserts are spectacularly rustic and the experience topped off by the pudding chômeur (poor man's pudding) - a baked sponge soaked in caramelised maple syrup topped with vanilla ice cream served in a foil tin. Demolished by our dining team in no time at all.
This was one of our favourite dining experiences this year and it will be a shame when the restaurant is no more.
