Definitely worth the hype! The wait staff were very friendly and knew the menu well. The seafood was fresh and came with delicious condiments. The duck parfait was smooth and not too gamey. But the steak was the highlight! Cooked medium as per the chef’s recommendation, every piece was tender. Would recommend!

I picked this place for my birthday. everything we ordered were fabulous! the pate was so yummy, it was smooth and had the right amount of liquier in it. the live band was great pleasure to watch, they even addressed my unicorn balloon as first time theres a unicorn in the house. staff service was great, everyone was friendly and helpful. the place decor with the miniture alcohol collection my dad loves! a place with character and good food, highly recommend!
I’ve been to Restaurant Hubert 4 times now and every single time, I love it even more! The restaurant is tucked away underground and has a unique, jazzy ambience. The food is absolutely amazing and their steak tartare, duck parfait, roe boat & escargot are a must! There’s always so much I want to try but I often get the same things because they just can’t be missed while I’m there. My favourite thing on the menu would be their duck parfait! The waiters are quite friendly, attentive and well informed. They’ve recently expanded their menu and included some new, fresh seafood entrees and mains including a tuna tartare, spanned crab espelette and confit trout. The only struggle with this restaurant is that it’s constantly booked out well in advance and often in order to score a last minute table, you’ll have to rock up at 5:30pm. The only other con is the restaurant can be quite dark and the table candle isn’t enough to let you see what you’re eating 😂.

Hubert lives to its 4.9 rating! Food was exceptional, especially the pommes anna and that sauce! Turned down the servers offer to refill our bread until the escargot arrived. More bread please! Steak was cooked to perfection and doneness was as we requested. Cocktails were so good, thanks to our server/bartender since we let him decide what drinks to make us. None of them disappointed. Ambience and the overall atmosphere is also very unique compared to other places in Sydney. Will definitely come back 😊
This place is crazy good. Ambience - perfect. Service - fantastic, our glasses were literally never empty. Food - super super good. Melt in your mouth beef and perfectly seasoned fries. Great recommendation of wine to pair food with.
Highlights: the escargot. The sauce is just 👌. Beef tartare - delicious. Lowlights: nothing. We will be back.

Amazing atmosphere. Won over my family who don't usually enjoy fine dining. Great prices as well, portions were decent sized and food came out quick.
Beef tartare was the biggest highlight and I would return for this alone. I also really enjoyed the crab with brioche. Chicken was decent but over hyped. Steak was ordered medium rare but came back almost completely rare with a tiny crust. Just something to note.
For desserts I loved the creme caramel but the souffle was average.
Oh they also came out with a little sweet treat for my birthday which is a nice little touch!
Only thing I would note is our server encouraged us to order more. Glad I didn't as we could not finish what we ordered let alone if we ordered more.
Worth the wait, a group of 3 friends and I waited about 4 weeks for our reservation and it was definitely worth it. Just ordered the set menu and got 2 bottles of red wine and was reasonably priced. The food was incredible and experience 2nd to none. Live Jazz playing with that dim lighting creates an excellent atmosphere. Great service and food, great for a date spot, will be returning in the future.
10/10 experience. A perfect blend of the ambience, live jazz and martini’s. The staff were attentive and made sure we were looked after. Every dish ordered was delicious. Portion sizes were decent and we finished the meal feeling contently full. The crème caramel was not too sweet and the best way to wrap up the meal - possibly one of my favourite desserts in Sydney. Highly recommend for date night.
Had an amazing time here for my anniversary. We overordered and ended up being too full for dessert unfortunately. We ordered the escargot with baguette, beef tartare, gnocchi, 300g flank and 300g scotch fillet. Everything tasted amazing. I’ve forgotten the name however they have a special Hubert cocktail which I ordered and surprisingly enjoyed (I don’t usually like cocktails). My partner also ordered 3 beers, all of which tasted well. The jazz added a unique vibe in the atmosphere and it appeared everyone in the room enjoyed it.
Wow! What an amazing experience. Fantastic atmosphere, phenomenal live band, delicious food, beautiful wine and vigilant staff in the age of COVID. Special mention to Mitch who made our evening special and Jackson the manager for a well organized night. Looking forward to my next visit, best restaurant in town!!
Very nice and great restaurant with perfect decor and full menu of drinks. The food was okay and I didn’t include the food quality in my rating as I guess they served it in late hours and if we went there earlier perhaps the menu and the food quality could have been better. However the drink was perfect and fantastic.
I will give them another chance in future to try out their food one more time and that’s mainly because of the very nice staff and atmosphere.
Everything is just amazing here. We arrived late due to traffic and had to changed booking twice, glad we were able to make it. You can close your eyes and order anything and trust their food. All the foods are just amazing! The service is a bit disappointing that the waiter who served us was always cutting in between us, rushing to take things away, no interactions. But other waiter or waitresses or runners hosts are just amazing! So still five star! Will definitely be my go to every time in Sydney!
Amazing ambiance. Reminded me of this beautiful old colonial theatre I used to go to as a kid.
The food was scrumptious, large portions which you can share. Perfectly cooked.
All this with great jazz that adds to the theatre of this place.
