Review Caminetto Italian - Sydney

Waiting for half n hour for a table of 4 which is fine ( its busy season totally get it ) however if you want a place where they forgot to put your order in then claimed that the order went through but they ran out of dough for the pizza then this might be the place!. Funny enough table after us and the one after that actually got their pizza!( i mean if u want to lie make it a good one) . Decided to just paid on what we got then leave. The food that we got and the customer service was very very avg at best as well!

Great experience, was so busy which was a good sign everyone smiling and enjoying their meals and beverages. Must come earlier before Oysters sell out!!! Staff were lovely. We were seated quickly even though we hadn't booked. Will be back again. Loved the antipasto platter (med) and the gnocci was amazing!!!

This is my new favourite restaurant!! The location, food & staff are five star quality!!! The price is also extremely affordable!! Ordered 2 entrees, 2 mains + side dish & 4 drinks and totalled $147. It was an amazing experience and I will definitely be returning!! The service from the wait staff was so professional and organised that I HAD to tip (which i rarely do). 100000/10 would recommend.

No offense intended here. If I'd rocked up with no reservation, I wouldn't mind copping a bad seat, but I did in fact make said reservation 3 days earlier, only to recieve a table in THE worst spot of the restaurant. I shivered through my entire meal, asked for at least one door to be closed to at least stop the wind tunnel effect, which was done, thankfully. Food. Meatballs were fantastic, according to my son. My steak. I'll say pretty good. I'll let everyone judge the photo whether it was cooked medium though. I've been in Sydney 5 days as a tourist, and this was my least favorite experience.

Great food, quick service, though the tables are really quite cramped in. Definitely worth it for the food though

Great pasta for vegetarians too and friendly staff. Ordered the spaghetti alla puttanesca without the anchovies ~ love the flavours. Will be back ~

We ordered ravioli and two pizza unfortunately the pizza was not ok, they are four olives in my pizza with kernels it was so close to broken my teeths. I don't recommend this veggie pizza

I can excuse the staff issues at this time. We have to be considerate to the current situation of attracting hospitality staff. But the food is woefully. I'm only giving 2 stars as the venue is pretty special. The pizza tastes like it's from a frozen box, the pasta was terrible. Sauce was made with dried herbs, it was sweet and garlic was dried. It was really low quality. Something you would expect from a pizza shop at best ! Sorry would give this a miss. Not anywhere near the price they charge.

Food was delicious but the service was not great. Took ages to take our order and forgot to bring our drinks until we had finished our meal and had to take our drink order again. However the pasta and pizza was extremely tasty.

Had nice family dinner in this perfectly located Italian. Was a bit concerned as tables outside, but heaters kept us nicely warm. Started with minestrone soup to warm up. Soup was a bit tasteless, but hey.. salt is in every table and it fixed the taste. Others started with bruschetta and garlic bread which were as you expect - though bruschetta was a bit too heavy with pesto (paste?) in my taste. Gorgonzola Gnocci was nice, not having overpowering blue cheese taste (which I actually like hahaa) and Caminetto Special Pizza was fantastic! Desserts sealed the night with limoncello. They have seriously nice desserts! Jamaican Mud Cake was nice and gooey, tiramisu like made at home. Will visit again.

We really hoped to have a fantastic night out in the rocks and we were especially excited to eat good Italian food. Unfortunately this wonderful location is let down by very ordinary food.

Lovely outdoor restaurant by the weekend market at the rocks! Very yummy crawfish pasta and Ricardo pizza, my family enjoyed it a lot. Coffee was a little burnt but it will not stop me from returning :)

I've walked past this quaint restaurant in the rocks several times . Went here on Anzac Day . Most places were very crowded and we were lucky to get a table here . We had the Mexicana pizza and tortellini with a white sauce with mushrooms . The food was alright . Not really spectacular . But loved the al fresco seating area , good service and excellent location at The Rocks.

Caminetto is one of the many pretty places at The Rocks that you've probably walked past a hundred times, said how nice it looked, but not stopped in. Well this time we decided to stop and stay. It was a nice day, sun shining, birds chirping (well they probably were somewhere) and the al fresco dining was beckoning us.

Two of us discovered this restaurant via Groupon.

We went on a Wednesday night and found the tables mostly full of patrons, which we perceived as a good sign. Unfortunately, two different staff members passed us without greeting so we had to approach someone to arrange a table.

We made our order for a garden salad and bruschetta for entree and a pizza and pasta to share for our mains.

Our garden salad arrived minutes after ordering - a nod to efficient prep before service. However we were left quite shocked at how punitive the salad was. For a non-Groupon patron, $20 would get you a few pieces of fruit and veg tossed with some greens and a hint of dressing. It was definitely not worth the money - it's overall taste was average at best, though the fresh tomato did save it from being a total train wreck.

20 minutes passed before our bruschetta arrived. Luckily it was a fantastic dish and much better value compared to the salad before it. The tomato was really fresh and worked really nicely with the fragrant basil scattered on top. The bread which held it all together was also good quality.

Our mains took another 15 or 20 minutes once we were done with our bruschetta, so we started to wonder if this was intentional as the peak service had died down by now. Maybe they don't value Groupon business as highly as walk-in traffic at Caminetto?

The first main to finally arrive was the pizza. We ordered the Caminetto Special. It had a nice, soft base and its toppings were pretty decent - salty olives, pepperoni, mushrooms and onion. There was probably too much onion though which was a bit sad as it took away from the other ingredients.

Luckily we were sharing our mains as the pasta arrived when we were more than halfway through our pizza.

A simple plate of pasta was placed in front of us - basically it was just tomato sauce with a hint of undercooked bacon, making for a very bland dish. One positive was the pasta as it was nice and al dente.

Overall it was a pretty underwhelming experience at Caminetto. Prepare for a wait and don't expect great value for money.
Very good Italian restaurant close to the Harbor Bridge. Came here for dinner with a few friends. Very lively place with good Italian food and service. You get a feel of Old Sydney around this place. Loved it.

Great location, nice feel and very Sydney but that's where it ends. Poor quality food, Pre made drinks, I'm not even going to bother saying anymore.
Coffee Cup
Great location but menu could do with some modernising. The garden salad was a mess, it looked like something from the seventies. Pizza was average but nothing about it makes me want to return.
Queen G
Lovely friendly accomadating staff and the breakfast was amazing and reasonable priced! Really enjoyed the scenary and the atmosphere around The Rocks.

$22.90 for a Greek salad??? And a small bowl of it too , what a rip off! Plus this "Greek salad" had no feta, no oregano but orange slices????? Not going back for sure
Eatwithmyfoodsafari
Continuing on my journey at the Aroma Festival at The Rocks, Caminetto Restaurant had a deal for Traditional Homemade Tiramisu And Coffee for $8 (reduced from $10 for the other days of the festival). There was a very long queue for this (they were well prepared with the tiramisu as saw lots in the chilled cabinet).

Unfortunately the long wait for it was not worth it at all! The Tiramisu was mostly cream with a scattering of the coffee soaked fingers. Didn't even think it even had marscapone in it. Looked nice from the top but looks were deceiving. Latte was quite weak and seemed watered down. Guess you get what you pay for!

I didn't expect too much about this place since I was more excited about VIVID! But wow, this restaurant was seriously beyond my expectations.

First of all, the service was really good despite the place being absolutely packed on a Friday night. Staff were continually attentive and polite. Thank you.

Secondly, food was just amazing. Okay, I was a little bit disappointed with the menu at first because their range was pretty small, but the quality of the food really rationalises the restaurant's approach. The bosciola and marinara pastas were one of the best I've tasted in a while. Pizza didn't produce the same wow factor, but it was still credibly delicious. Yummo.

And lastly, the vibe of this place was pretty good. We sat outside which was absolutely freezing, but there were some warm gas heaters that were placed near out seats. In addition, there was live musical performances which made everything really serene and comforting.

I highly recommend this place.

We bought a groupon voucher for this restaurant and we were impressed by its beautiful location and cosy/romantic atmosphere.

Unfortunately, the lack of attention to detail in the service and more importantly, rather boring food meant we are unlikely to visit again. I ordered the minestrone soup and the chicken - it was okay but you can probably find a similar meal in any Italian restaurant in Sydney. My boyfriends veal had absolutely no taste and was extremely dry. We thought the strawberry cheesecake might make up for the main, however the syrup on the cake tasted so artificial/plasticy I ended up spitting it out.

Three different waiters/waitresses came and tried to take our order even though we only ordered a minute ago. Then the waiter took away my fork leaving me with two knifes to eat. It took me a long time to finally wave a waitress down to get a fork. However she ended up forgetting despite the restaurant being half empty.

I think this place has potential if service is improved. I have a feeling the pizza/pasta might be better than the meat. It is also a bit strange that groupon patrons has a different menu with different prices for the same food.

Two nights out in Sydney, two italian restaurants - I don't eat italian all that often when I go out, so it was a nice change. Catching up with a group of friends after returning from a cruise, we found ourselves at Caminetto on a busy Saturday evening. We hadn't booked, but a table for the six of us was found so we were in luck.

Firstly the setting is gorgeous - up against an original sydney rocks wall, in a beautiful old (what surely must be heritage) building - we sat outside under the stars on a lovely evening and it was simply stunning. Add a pair of delightful gentlemen providing live music and it was even more stunning.

The service was very good - attentive but not obtrusive and we quickly found ourselves with menu's and water, with our bottles of wine to follow shortly. We all shared some garlic and herb bread - just the usual standard, but it was crusty and delicious. We variously ordered different meals and I went with the penne arriabata - it was a lovely big serve (perhaps too big had I not been hungry from skipping lunch - so if you aren't starving, opt for the entree size). It was spicy and delicious - and I enjoyed every last bite. All my dining companions also thoroughly enjoyed their meals with everyone commenting on how full they were and how delicious everything had been.

I would highly recommend Caminetto - if for no other reason than the setting, but the food makes it even more worth while. I shall return!

Delicious Margherita Pizza, fresh bruschetta and the service was very good. Musicians out the front were lovely as well! Felt a little like Italy :)

We stopped here for lunch while visiting The Rocks markets. The setting is very European and as the weather Gods were smiling on us it was very relaxing.
Unfortunately the oysters were not chilled so we couldn't enjoy them, although the pizza was quite good. We had the Mexicana.
Andrew Conn
Oh dear, absolutely horrible! Massive tourist trap taking advantage of the location, definitely not for the food lover.
Slow service, disinterested staff and crap food.
Nathan
My girlfriend and I have gone to your restaurant a number of times over the last few years but today was the worst service we have ever seen at any restaurant we have ever been to. We waiting an hour and a half and still received no food while people who turned up after us had already eaten and left. This is totally unacceptable. Will won't be returning ever again.

Excellent little Italian restaurant in The Rocks, glad we found it! Delicious food, very friendly staff. Definitely would recommend to anyone visiting Sydney.

Nice food, good value in casual setting. We went mid week for dinner and were pleasantly surprised. Pizza and pasta dishes both excellent, good portions and we enjoyed our meal. Courtyard outside is pleasant and sheltered.

Fantastic dinner for a Sunday evening. We had the lamb shank, beef lasagne and special chicken breast stuffed with spinach and ricotta and served with a mushroom sauce. The service was fast and friendly and the live music created such an ambience. We could close our eyes and imagine being in Italy. Can definitely recommend it.

Worst meal ever had in Australia For the last 6 years!
Vegetarian Lasagna was way overcooked (some days ago) and had a strange, sour "side taste".
Tiger Prawn should have been grilled, but no way they were... And not cooked enough....
Chips were pale and soft.... Salads more than ordinary....
Having had wonderful days in Sydney and great food all the time - this was a completely rip off!

Enjoyed our Experience.. Four of us dined on the 17.3.15 at Caminetto, the dishes we all ordered were excellent. We did not think that the food or the drinks were over priced, all in all it was a fabulous dining experience.

Terrible Experience, Worst Server Ever, Americans we warned!. For our honeymoon, my wife and I stayed in Sydney, in the Rocks area and had a wonderful time... apart from our dinner at Caminetto Italian that now leaves a sour note on our entire time here. NO AMERICAN SHOULD EAT HERE!

We were attracted to the outdoor setting, the live music, and the smell of some delicious Italian food. We were treated to an extremely rude Romanian server who was determined to let us know from the very beginning how much he hated Americans and America. He started by insulting my wife about the way she ordered, he then made frequent check-backs to first tell us about how Americans eat too much food and then how our pizza is the size of a table (his words) and how his other American customers complain about the size of their large entrees (my wife and I ordered the small entrees by the way). I should state, my wife and I are both younger and go to the gym and eat healthy. I was literally dumbfounded by the treatment and maintained a smile the entire time, as I did not want to get into an argument on Holiday. He continued to check back and said how Americans put parmesan on everything and went and brought us parmesan (we did not ask for this). After we finished eating, he started, unprompted, going deeper into politics and said how Americans don't produce anything and they just go increasingly in debt. He continued to interrupt our meal to insult us with cliché American stereotypes.

It was a horrible experience. Even thought the food was pretty good, the experience as a whole was so sad. In my young life, I have traveled all over the world and lived in other countries. I am aware that many people dislike Americans. I get along with everyone. This was BY FAR the worst I have every been treated in a restaurant!

No one should have to sit through what we did and still have to pay to be insulted for over an hour.

DO NOT GO!

Awful. Overpriced. Greasy, cheap and nasty pizzas (the frozen base style you can buy from Coles). No soy milk for coffees. Rubbish service. Staff happier to see us leave than arrive. Just don't bother wasting your money here. There's an awesome sandwich shop just a little further down on the left.
Linda Grams
Calamari way overpriced. Couldnt believe served with sachets of premade dressings and sauces. Chef unable to make obviously. When we pointed this out waiters and chefs just laughed at us. Very disappointed. Pasta was store bought.
Amy Goff Becker
Good service but really bland food. Worst veal I have ever had and even the veggies on the side were terrible.
Adam O'Donnell
Delightful Atmosphere. Went there over the weekend. Reasonably priced food but not the cheapest, was of good quality though, but that was not the best part. They had a couple of gentlemen playing Italian style music, one of which was playing the accordion, and it was amazing! I know I should be reviewing the food more but I just loved the atmosphere, it is enough to have me going back. Best part?.....They, at one point, were playing the theme to the Godfather! Brilliant!

Don't go here! Food was the worst I have ever had. It is an expensive tourist trap and service was just average. The steamed vegetables were like hospital food, bland and gross. Two of my friends who are nurses wondered if they came from the same supplier as the hospitals they work at. The grilled prawns that I ordered came with the shells on - the menu did not specify this - and at the price I paid, I wouldn't expect to be sitting there doing the job of the kitchen staff and peeling prawns! Disgusting rip off.
Jom
Tourist trap! Stay away!. The service was ok. Not horrible but not great either. The food was terrible. undercooked risotto that was too watery. Pizza was blah. I expect to pay half for the quality of food that I got. Definitely not worth it. I would not recommend this place.
Jay
Terrible service by backpacker waitresses, no care at all. Food overpriced by about 20% for what it is.
Alisa
So disappointed, my spaghetti marinara was overdone and tasteless. The service was as bad as their food.
Cmcalll8883
Food not worth tolerating the poor service. Perfect location, great pizza and a beautiful harp playing in the background... However this is all superseded by the complete lack of customer service. The waitress was almost rude and obviously uninterested, and after a discrepancy on the bill the manager was not apologetic nor helpful. The overall experience was actually slightly uncomfortable.
Miiakovsky
Low quality Italian. I went there with workmates today for lunch. The pizza was average and the creamy fettuccine was so bland. I would say this is more of a restaurant for tourists than it is for people who are looking for some authentic Italian.
I felt guilty since I was the one who suggested this place :(
Jen
Nice Italian restaurant in the rocks - busy and popular on a fri night but as a group of 4 we were seated immediately. Highly recommend the spaghetti marinara, bruschetta was also fresh. Mexicana pizza decent and spicey. Overall a solid restaurant and positive experience.
TonyT
A hidden gem. This is a great place to eat if you love Italian food, it's up a lane way so if you stick to the main streets you'll miss it.

The main servings are pretty big so if you're going for dinner I say skip having lunch.
Theorems
Excellent night out! The service was attentive but unobtrusive, the prices are good for the area, and the Calzone was delicious. There was live entertainment by two men with a harp and guitar, which topped everything off. All it needs is Creme Brûlée on the menu.
Kazbah
Stick to the pizza! We shared a small pizza for entree which was tasty and had a crunchy base. For main 2 of us had veal and it was terrible! It was tough and chewy with absolutely no flavour.
Catherine
Extremely disappointing, in the first five minutes I sent two glasses of wine back due to the waitress bringing the wrong one and then the other being horrible. Only one option of white wine available and it was horrid. This should have ripped us off to how the food would be. Dismal is all I can say, bad service, and extremely sad food. Don't bother.
Andrew
We walked around the Rocks looking for a menu that all six of us could agree on & finally (after 45 min of walking) settled on the first place! There was a queue & we didn't have a booking so weren't expecting a table. However we ended up being seated within 5 minutes! WOW! The wait staff were courteous and our waitress as good as they come. The food was also surprisingly good and all six of us were very pleased with our choice often course & dessert.. We are visitors to Sydney and ended up having a great night out with our friend that we hadn't seem for ages.
Kitty Litter
Disappointing. On a catch up visit to Sydney we decided to return to Caminetto's last Saturday for lunch. Unfortunately it was raining and we asked if we could sit inside and were told that we must sit outside under the umbrellas as there wasn't enough staff to serve us!! Ok go with the flow!! We ordered and the wait staff were bored but polite and the maitre d' had a perpetual frown. Anyhoo I ordered a glass of house wine and when it came it was bright yellow and tasted foul and so I sent it back and had water. Despite
all this the food was nice but we ate and ran. Went elsewhere for coffee!!!
Nessa
Awesome awesome food. The special seafood risotto was unbelievable. Massive serve. Jam packed full of fresh seafood. Service was impeccable. Very friendly helpful staff. We will definitely return.
Betka
Awful service. We were waiting for 2 pizzas for 50 minutes. But at least it was tasty!
Jenno
Food was on par with the frozen food aisle at Coles. Chicken over cooked, all veg under cooked. Pizza burnt and highly annoying staff. Complained about food and waitress said some rubbish about how busy it had been yesterday??? Subway is round the corner do yourself a favour and go there instead!!!
Rossinperth
Smallest pizza ever, crazily expensive and incredibly rude waitstaff. Avoid avoid avoid!
David Beer
Great food, great atmosphere and location. Highly recommended!
EAB
Simply horrid. The prices are exorbitant even for Sydney. My octopus dish was watery and severely overlooked. The lasagna was tv dinner quality but with less cheese. My local takeaway makes better pizza and with fresher ingredients too. But the most annoying part was the waitress that stared at us and hovered creepily behind us during literally the whole meal. Don't go there, ever. Pub food is cheaper and better.
FranklinTV
Walk in cold to this place early Saturday evening - a lovely lasagna, prompt professional service, very nice coffee and cake with enjoyable live music. Most surprised with the low approval rating. Recommended.
Deb
Awful dining experience - be warned!. From the moment we walked in, after being greeted by the token Italian waiter, this place took a turn for the worse. Over the top waitress who became a total pain in the neck, really, really ordinary food which was totally overpriced and rip off wine prices. Avoid at all costs - I didn''t leave a tip, something I thought you had to earn, and was grunted at when I left.
Very_speedy
Service goes to show that anyone can be a 'waiter' in a tourist town. The food is basic, with a high proportion of processed ingredients and a total lack of imagination. This hospital food with a high mark-up.

Fantastic portion sizes and food!

Pizza. We had a couple of pizza's here had to come back, very nice ambiance the pizza's are very good, good wine nice staff. And you can add bits to your pizza that you like.....

Kitchen nightmare meets Italian soccer spirit inspired service - like the bastard love child of Berlusconi and Ronald McDonald after an inebriated night at King's Cross. On the hunt for the culinary treasures that Sydney is famous for we stumbled through the Rocks and saw the exceptionally well located and frequented Caminetto Restaurant. The front of house of the restaurant is presented in a tradtional Italian country house style, but looks could not be more deceiving. The Italian flair of the restaurant ended with the maitre d' who is quick to lure you in and promise you a quick table before he makes you wait 25 minutes. Unfortunately the real misery only starts there. Entrees, which were served 15 minutes apart from each other, included a 'Cold Antipasti' platter and bruschetta. The platter, and I wish I was kidding here, contained three pieces of tasty cheese, two pieces of pre-sliced supermarket quality salami and prosciutto and an unfortunately assembled assortment of unpitted olives, soggy artichokes and 3 capers all stacked around a volume increasing but taste and aesthetic compromising mix of iceberg lettuce and shredded carrots. I have honestly never been more disappointed by an antipasto platter. This was fallowed by soggy bruschetta. Overall a miserable fail for 33$ worth of entrees. And it only got worse. The gamberi special included five overcooked and underseasoned prawns with a side salad that was as disappointing as the entrée platter. In addition, and this is where it gets truly disturbing, some chips were served with an accompaniment of Squeeze tomato sauce sachets (the kind that you fold in the middle to release its content). The other main, a gorgonzola and funghi linguine, contained about 2.5 mushroom slices and was so undercooked that it was simply unenjoyable. After informing the staff of the unenjoyable linguine we were practically shunned and instead of receiving service received death stares from all the hostile members of this soccer team sized employed entourage. We left as fast as possible and will never return to this place as a result of this disappointing experience. I would recommend keeping your distance from this establishment.
Alan Taylor
Great italian restaurant with helpful staff. Spaghetti marinara had heaps of seafood and the fettuccini was fantastic. Good portions means you dont go hungry and reasonably priced.
Adelarina
So good! Such a hidden gem. The waiter was lovely and helpful. Talkative and friendly. The food.. Omg the food. We didn't want to leave one thing behind - even though we were stuffed we fit it all in and will take with us some amazing memories.

Sangria wasn't freshly made and had been sitting there for a while. I can make soo much better sangria!!
Foodcoma
I've been to this place so many times, I love it! Amazing authentic Italian food with attentive Italian service and an atmosphere that is so welcoming and cozy that it starts a night out with great mood amongst good friends. Been to bday dinners here as well and they are so sweet to cut the cake and serve individual pieces with cream. This isn't even charged for as well which is great. I would highly recommend this place!
Robert Reid
Reid. Good location & topical environment. Fair food & value
Mangez
It was quite decent, we ordered the penne arrabbiate, vegetarian pizza and the herb bread for the entree. The bread was a bit TOO salty for my liking but the pizza and pasta were quite nice. The pasta was a generous size and the sauce tasted very traditional. Everything was good but it would have been better if we took a seat outside, the inside is a little stuffy and cramped.
Jayson
Nice food but with little care. I ordered the bruschetta as an entree and Spaghetti Bolognaise for the main and asked for a glass of red to go with it.

The bruschetta was very nice and garlicky but I had barely taken one bite out of one of three pieces when my main was put on the table (that took no longer than 60 seconds). I was traveling alone and had the impression they just wanted me to eat as soon as possible so they could fill the table with two people instead of one.

I also noticed when moving things around on the table everything had a tendency to stick, everything looked cleaned but didn't give a great impression!

The Spaghetti Bolognaise sauce was very nice and traditional but found the pasta a little too on the hard side of al dente.

Their choice of red was average but not fantastic.
TheSecretFoodie
Good wholesome food. Went there with a mate for a mid week bite. Without looking at the menu we asked if they cooked a specific dish. We were told yes so didn't even open the menu and just ordered. The waiter came back 5 mins later to say sorry that had been removed from the menu and the chef wont cook it. We chose another dish each and the food we got was great. Shame though the waiter didn't know the menu!
Jaci2810
Disgusting. We went there on a Sunday night and had a pizza, oysters and the melon and procciuto salad.
the salad obviously had been sitting in the fridge for days, the procciuto was of poor quality and thickly cut - the worst i've ever had.
the pizza base was worse than supermarket frozen pizza.
the mussels were ok, although over priced and very fatty.

when i complained, the waiter simply walked away.

we are NOT coming back, and by all means, stay away from this place. It's hugely over priced, taking advantage of the tourists!
Ryan Lynch
The only redeeming part of the meal was the garlic bread. Both veal dishes were bland and fatty. The seafood pasta was overdone and chewy. Add this to the fact that it is priced for tourists and it doesn't look too good. The menu is promising but it doesn't deliver at all.
David Hanlin
Great family Italian restaurant, very informal and causal place, food size is very large and good value for money, if your looking for a quick bite then this is te place. We had the pizza and pasta which was very tasty!! I will return!!
MAB
Modest but ok. Family style Italian.
RL
Felt jipped.... The usher said there was steak on the menu but there was no steak ... the lasagne was good though...
SD
Very very disappointed. The food was horrible and over priced. The chicken dish was like a frozen tv dinner. Pub food is better.
VM
It's ok. My colleagues and friends were all fairly disappointed..
Simone Traglia
Caminetto was an authentic, friendly atmosphered restaurant. The waiting time for a table on a busy Friday night was under 15minutes. The wait staff were great and attentive. The food was delicious, quickly prepared & well sized. I was suprised at how great the restaurant was as I was a tad worried after reading previous reviews. All in all a great place for dinner or lunch. Authentic & well worth the spent money =)
Hano
Very ordinary. The restaurant was very stuffy and hot, the waiters were annoying and the tables were a pretty small. The food was not worth the amount we paid for it. Salad was boring with no dressing, the pizza seemed like it had been deepfried. The napolitana pasta was okay and garlic pizza was alright but nothing too flash. The brushetta was soggy - very disappointing. Overall not a good dining experience, although perhaps if we were able to sit outside (it was raining) the rocks atmosphere may have improved it
John Menzies
Nice location. Nothing fancy. Our waiter was anoying.
Heneedsfood
Overpriced. Very ordinary Italian. Pasta was overcooked and terribly conventional. What a shame, it's such a gorgeous spot.
Ratatouille
Don't eat here. 3 out of 4 dishes were disappointing. The only decent dish was the Risotto from the specials menu. Everything else (Lasagne, Tortellini, Garlic Prawns & Fried Calamari) was tasteless and nothing like traditional Italian cuisine. Tasted re-heated and lacked seasoning. Too pricey for the quality of the food served. The only thing going for this place is its central location at the Rocks.
