We were seated right away, took a while for someone to come take our order. Food was delicious as always and waiter was great with recommendations of meals and add ons! They forgot about our sauce and drink. We had to get the drink as takeaway as we were about to finish our food, but they kindly didn't charge for the drink. But I love the food here and the vibe! Such a cool little place and the waiters are very knowledgeable about the food they serve which I love.

Great quality and spacious cafe exuding super chill vibes. Their kind of hybrid industrial and rustic aesthetic is one-of-a-kind at least in Sydney and is the perfect place to catch a lunch break for those on the daily grind. Food was awesome and very filling. Their vegan roll with marinated eggplant, pickled veggies and other bits within a toasted baguette. Big Yum. 👌

Great value and friendly service. While we opted for a simple breakfast in eggs + toast & coffee, the food was great; sometimes the simple dishes can be overlooked and that did not occur here. The service was also great in that it was prompt and welcoming. I certainly recommend a visit should you be in the area.

I love this place SO much! The coffee is one of the best in Sydney and the food is AMAZING! Highly recommend the cheeseburger and sweet potato wedges, sooo good. The staff are super friendly and take time to get to know people, it's a great environment. Not to mention, the vibe is awesome, especially for follow alternative peeps out there - the grunge/indie scene has been dying in Sydney but this place is keeping it alive!

Absolutely wonderful breakfast. Had the Sunrise bowl and added the halloumi. Scrambled eggs were juicy and perfectly cooked (not dried out), the salad was fresh, the pickled red onions were a treat and the dash of chimichurri on the avocado was delightful. Very near my hotel, will definitely be back again.

An open restaurant with a bar and cooking area with motorcycles in the backroom. I grabbed a quick takeaway lunch of poke, which is one of the only places in sydney you can get a decent poke. Takeaway was packaged great, they took my order at the front door and brought the eftpos machine over to me to pay - convenient! TUNA POKE SALAD BOWL (GF) Avocado, sesame, rice noodle, leaves, cucumber, miso sriracha, mayo & shallots $17 - generous of mayo, makes the poke delicious!

Quite possibly the saddest burger I’ve had in Sydney in the past 10 years. Deus cafe went from making the best steak sandwich I think I’ve ever had, to making this pathetic thing. Nothing like described in the menu.

I've been wanting to try Deus since the last time I came when there was no space on a Sunday around brunch time. My friend ordered the savoury french toast and I had a matcha panna cota. My dish was very delicious! It was well balanced, not too sweet and the texture was smooth. I would order it again. The interior is very spacious and well lit. <br/><br/>The only let down was the service. Although it wasn't busy, no one came up to us to take our orders in a timely fashion so we thought we had to go up to the counter to order and pay first. The waiter also couldn't understand what we were trying to order and we had to repeat ourselves.<br/><br/>Food: 8/10<br/>Ambience: 9/10<br/>Service: 6/10

Had the Karaage Chicken burger and it was amazing. Hubby got the steak sandwich which he also enjoyed. The fries were nicely seasoned too. Coffee was great. <br/><br/>Only issue was that we arrived at 11:15 for brunch and the waiter wouldn’t take our order until 11:30 as it was from the lunch menu. I’d recommend taking the order but not putting it through until 11:30/letting us know there would be a wait as lunch service had not started yet. We didn’t expect the kitchen to start cooking early, but it wasn’t busy and it seemed quite trivial delaying taking our order.

Came here mostly for their store so decided to check out the cafe while we were at it. Food was pretty standard compared to its hefty price tag. Coffee was great but the scrambled eggs needed a touch more flavour or even just a little more salt. Super friendly service though!

The service was friendly enough except for one waiter who looked like he hated the place and tossed us a napkin from approximately half a meter away from the table. The schnitzel sandwhich however was one of the best I’ve ever had! The chicken was so crispy, the lettuce was fresh and the sauce was delicious! Can’t remember what sauce it was but it has a subtle taste and not over powering, I’m pretty sure it was home made 👌

Very disappointed! this place has rude and dismissive staff members as well as over priced food. I asked a staff member where to pay and her response was completely inappropriate and unnecessary. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

The Magic Mushroom Burger with fries. We were seated immediately despite it being a busy Friday night. Staff were extremely efficient in taking our orders. Vibe of the place was really good - projector playing films, a DJ, good crowd, a lounge a great bar set up. The burgers were awesome, buns were light & fluffy, flavours worked well together and everything was cooked perfectly. <br/>I had the Fake Cola cocktail which was also great. Would definitely recommend this place!!!

What a neat spot! I go pass this place all the time and never been. The atmosphere was incredible! The layout, the menu everything. The burgers especially the cheese burger was awesome, cooked medium the buns were very soft, the cheese stuck to my teeth & the jalapeño mayo was awesome. Highly recommend this if in the area

Really cool venue, so I keep giving it a second chance over and over. I’ve never had good service here. Not once. Maybe bad luck bc other people seem to like it. Food is ok, but maybe a little overpriced for what you get. Same goes for coffee. If you could take the mechanics of a decent cafe and put it into the Deus-hipster shell- that would be the dream.

For me better than your average burger joint but at the same time I wasn't blown away by it. I love the layout simple because there is plenty of space! My burger was a little smaller than expected and I liked how they added gerkin but the chicken burger without the gerkin would of just made it ordinary <br/>My missus had the steak sandwich which she liked but found expensive for the size of her sandwich <br/>Overall it's ok

Deus Bar + Kitchen is a shiny one-year brunch and bar venue in Camperdown. Housed within a spacious concrete warehouse, the bar also showcases streetwear and motorcycles and includes a cocktail bar, share tables and potted plants at the corner of the cafe.<br/><br/>However, Deus' coffee and brunch ranks among the worst. I ordered a flat white to kick start my day but the flat white was literally flat, limp and unrecognisable. There is an excessive amount of foam and milk and tiny traces of espresso. I do not know how I should call it but it's definitely not a flat white or latte. <br/><br/>The eggs benedict on potato rosti was equally horrendous. Both the potato rosti and bacon are overfried and tasted rock hard whereas the poached eggs were 100% cooked. Please do some quality control before you serve your meals and do not treat your diners as dust bins. We worked hard for our meals too.

I've been here 5 mornings in a row for breakfast as I'm staying across the road. <br/>The cafe/bar is attached to Deus ex Machina (motorbikes) really cool open space and nice industrial type fit out. <br/>The service has been quick, friendly and they take AMEX which is a bonus as when I am travelling for...<br/>Coffee is great.<br/>Also came here for lunch, I had the Thai Chicken salad which was so flavoursome! My colleague had a vege burger which they give you the option to serve in a lettuce cup rather than the brioche bun. The sweet potato wedges as special also! <br/>Came back in the evening for Espresso Martinis on our way out - they were spot on! <br/>Love this place!

Came here for breakfast today. Service is very warm and welcoming. The feel of the place is very relaxed and casual with some groups and couples coming in for breakfast as well.<br/><br/>Tried the corn and zucchini frittata and eggs on toast with chorizo today. Coffee came out in a timely manner, though not hot enough. Even though I reminded them the extra hot requirement. The blend of coffee was made slightly less strong than to my taste, but was still smooth and full of flavour.<br/><br/>The frittata was deep fried, which is not what I thought it'll be done as. As it was breakfast eating something deep fried wasn't so great. Taste was slightly bland. Since it was deep fried the flavour of the corn and zucchini doesn't come through. So this dish misses for me. For the scrambled eggs in toast with chorizo. This was done ok, though would of preferred the chorizo a little of charred.<br/><br/>Overall the experience was good, but price for the meals. Is slightly more than other cafe's in the area. May come back, but will try their lunch or dinner menu next time round.

Staff are rude and full of themselves. Cafe is noisy and there is no all day breakfast on weekends. Run a sushi train if you want to serve people on a conveyor belt.

Nothing like having your nephew turn 18 to make you feel old. We had scheduled a lunch to celebrate with our nephew who just turned 18. We were racking our brains to think of somewhere cool to go and decided on the Deus Cafe in Camperdown. This cafe/Restaurant/bar/motorcycle/streetwear shop was an ideal venue. The menu had variety to suit all in our dining party, from a 9 years old to a 60 year old and us somewhere in between. It is a cool and large dining space with decorated with motorcycle paraphernalia. The bar is neatly stacked with spirits and mixers and a couple of craft beer taps. They also do coffee, juice and have a range of milkshakes to choose from.

Very good breakfast here. Best I can remember that didn't involve bacon. Ordered the Mexican wrap with beans, eggs,salsa, avo and sour cream. It tasted as good as it looked. Coffee was really good as well.

Came here for a lunch with the hubby. <br/>I ordered the tuna poke salad, which they had no tuna so replaced with kingfish. Omg it was to die for. Such a delicious dish. <br/>Hubby got a pork ramen which he liked but didn't love. <br/>Will def be back to try rest of menu or get that salad again!<br/>And the coffee was good too!!

I feel deceived. After all the new publicity and reading reviews I was eager to revisit this popular local spot for lunch. We're my expectations too high?<br/><br/>It was a warm day so we ordered some tap water for the table as soon as we were seated, before going on to perouse the drinks menu. <br/><br/>The Chocolate, peanut butter & maple milkshake sounded too good to pass up. At a whopping $8 it promises to be quite something. However and although very tasty, it arrived as a small glass of brown milk which barely looked "shaken" at all - probably more poured then stirred. Hmmm. The look of disappointment on my guest's face (who had been "gagging" for a milkshake all morning) was heartbreaking. <br/><br/>I ordered the Buttermilk Fried Chicken burger. As a "go to" and a control dish, it is always a good choice when you're feeling undecided. <br/><br/>Menu said it came with lettuce and coleslaw. Great! Just what I felt like. There was one piece of lettuce on the bun but the "Coleslaw" was just some undressed, dry shredded cabbage. The deep fried chicken thigh was tasty and plentiful. <br/><br/>When ordering we were directed by our lovely and friendly waitress that the burgers on offer at $14 didn't come with fries. <br/><br/>We were instructed that a side of fries cost $3 each but a bowl to share would cost $5. Fair enough. We'll go for the bowl, of course. However only later to discover that the bowl of fries actually cost us $9.90!! For supermarket quality shoestring fries?! Damn! I should have checked the bill before I payed!<br/><br/>The service was warm and friendly. We definitely felt welcomed. Indeed the food that we ordered was tasty but disappointing at the same time because they fell short on what was promised on the menu. <br/><br/>Luckily Sydney's Inner West provides many other lunch venues for similar fare. <br/><br/>Oh, and that water for the table? It never arrived. <br/>

Pretty impressed with Deus!<br/>I really like the setup of the area, and the atmosphere was great too. Industrial, modern yet casual and relaxing. <br/>I tried the Southern buttermilk chicken burger. It was pretty nice, the bun was soft and the chicken was really tender! However, the seasoning was a little too overpowering and salty for me, so I had to drink quite a lot of water.<br/>I also had a chai latte which was really great! It was different to the normal ones that I usually have - it was not too sweet!<br/>The croissant with ham and cheese was nice too.<br/>Overall it was a pleasant experience, staff were really friendly too!

Nice fun vibe at night, certainly a popular spot. Much of the food is made for sharing. I had two dishes and they were both nice, but very very oily. It's not great to walk away from dinner and just be able to taste oil as the lingering flavour.

The sauce in the mussels seems like it was poorly mixed Dijon with lemon and butter; tasted like sour Dijon butter. <br/><br/>To sum it up : unsophisticated cooking in a motorcycle themed restaurant.

We happen to see the place after a horrible experience that evening and I must say it was the blessing we needed for the night. A beautiful warehouse conversion and good decor. We ordered the prawns, the beans and a bowl of chips.... All we needed was that. The wine list was good and the wine very good as well. I'd recommend this wine bar!

Ordered the cheeseburger, flavor and sauce were nice, but the meat patty ratio to the bun was disappointing. More bun than meat and I left 1/3 of the top and bottom bun left on my plate.<br/>Other than that, service was very good, great staff. Would come and try other things on menu.

Stopped by here but the kitchen was closed after breakfast and before lunch as arrived in the in between time. Grabbed a Green Matcha Latte and a Latte. The matcha was okay however the powder should have been stirred in more and the latte was slightly milky.

Hummus dip for lunch was fantastic. Great combination of hummus, almonds, chick peas, mint & onion, with a smattering of pomegranate seeds for a sweet zing. Staff service and attention was perfect. Highly recommended.

The atmosphere of Deus is relatively relaxed, although can get loud, with plenty of seating that can accommodate relatively large groups.<br/><br/>I've had both the cheeseburger and their chicken burger and love both of them, both burgers are not over the top dripping with sauce but is enough to complement the patty. The chips definitely have to be taken dirty, the sauce makes the chips a whole lot better. <br/><br/>Definitely would recommend.

As a FBAS member, I had been hearing a lot about the supposedly epic burger collaboration between two burger heavyweights: Pub Life Kitchen and Barrio Chino. The raves for the pop-up were coming from people left, right, and centre. I almost didn't get a chance to go if it weren't for Cat inviting me along to her second visit, since she was so impressed by her first try.<br/><br/>Here's the lowdown on the Double Cheeseburger:<br/><br/>Bones: $20<br/><br/>The Double Cheeseburger was $16+$4 for the mandatory extra bacon. The single Cheeseburger was only $12 but FBAS recommended the Double and considering it was a limited time pop-up, I decided to ignore my healthy rational side and order the double. It was an expensive burger, no doubt, but price is no problem as long as the quality is there. So was the quality there? <br/><br/>Pickles: 4.5/5<br/><br/>Hot damn! This was hands down the best burger that I have tried in Sydney so far. I had high expectations due to all the rave reviews and was a little worried that the burger wouldn't live up to said expectations, but was very pleasantly surprised. The brioche bun was a tasty alternative to the typical sesame seed bun (I personally prefer brioche buns anyway), the patties were tender and smokey, the pickles packed a punch, and the cheese was deliciously melted. Sure, this may have been a very classic cheeseburger in the sense that it was comprised of a classic flavour combo but it was a classic cheeseburger done extremely, extremely well.<br/><br/>Spuds: 4/5<br/><br/>Even the spuds were great! That dirty sauce sure was something outta this world. The only downside is that the copious amount of sauce made the fries go quite soggy, so a point was deducted from their score.<br/><br/>Bonus comment: 5/5<br/><br/>As Jovi from Pub Life Kitchen delivered our burgers to our table, he asked me, "Have you had the double here before?"<br/><br/>"No I haven't."<br/><br/>"It's bigger than you!!"<br/><br/>Needless to say, looks are deceiving and I demolished that burger. I wasn't going to let some ginormous burger get the better of me! But the comment sure gave Cat and I a crack.<br/><br/>It's a pity that the pop-up is no longer running but never fear, you can always go to Pub Life Kitchen for a burg (which I will get around to doing). Visit on a Wednesday to try their weekly experimental burger. Alternatively, you can try Barrio Cellar and soon, Barrio Chino's new burger joint!

Love both the chicken burger and the double cheeseburger at the PLK and Barrio Chino collaboration at Deus Cafe! We also tried the onion rings on our first visit, and the fries with dirty sauce on our second. I personally loved the onion rings, perfectly crispy outside and sweet onion on the inside! The dipping sauce that came with it was delish. The dirty fries were okay but really not worth spending the extra for some sauce. <br/>Even when packed, the food came out surprisingly fast! And the staff are friendly. <br/>Too bad this is only temporary, amazing burgers!!

She says: This was two of the greats coming together. Any burger fan knows both of these joints spit out some awesome snacks. It would be crazy to have missed it. In saying that – I think it closes in a couple of days so if you want to check it out, get a wriggle on!! The overall verdict should have lost a few points because it took so long for us to get our burgers (but the food was so good.. and we are suckers). We waited for what felt like a really long time and I had to be restrained from stealing food from other tables. By the time they arrived I was panic-hungry (thus the blur in some of the photos).

Ordered the double cheeseburger and the fried chicken burger. Both the meat patties and the fried chicken fillet were finely cooked. The sauce was tasty and the lettuce and tomato added freshness. The burgers could've done with a bit more sauce, but all in all it was a delicious meal.
The Burger Hand
There's currently a summer popup going on at Deus Cafe from the burger maestros of Pub Life Kitchen (Ultimo) and Barrio Chino (King's Cross/CBD.) As a fan of the former (when they were known as BRGRS) I was compelled to come here. The burger menu is relegated to a Cheeseburger and Double Cheeseburger, as I don't count anything with chicken a burger. You can add bacon if you wish, but lately I haven't been adding it as an extra. Naturally, I ordered the Double Cheeseburger.<br/><br/>Two beef patties, American cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and their special sauce.<br/><br/>If you're a fan of In-N-Out Burger in the US, you will enjoy this burger as it's the closest taste-wise to it that I've come across in Sydney. To wit, I'm actually not a big In-N-Out fan but respect what they do. That being said, the burger is pretty tasty. Beef was a great medium rare, the milk bun held it all together just fine, and toppings extremely fresh with that animal style spread which is similar to thousand island dressing.<br/><br/>Don't miss out on this popup.<br/><br/>Beef: 4 <br/><br/>Bun: 4<br/><br/>Toppings: 4<br/><br/>Overall: 4/5

I finally got to try out the famous Deus Cafe / PLKXBarrioXDeus. It came highly recommended by The FBAS. I ordered a double cheeseburger $16 (asked for medium), a fried chicken burger $14, dirty fries $7 and Onion rings $8. <br/><br/>First came the onion rings. While I did enjoy the flavor of the onion and the batter, the serving size did not warrant its price. <br/><br/>Then came the dirty fries which I didn't like at all. The cheese sauce tasted so fake and I expected a bit of spiciness but barely tasted anything other than that cheese. <br/><br/>The fried chicken burger followed. I enjoyed it a lot. I actually found the chicken better than the one at Chicken & Sons and the tomato & pickle were topnotch. The sauce was alright but couldn't tell that it's supposed to have some green siracha in that mayo. <br/><br/>Finally came the double cheeseburger.<br/>The good thing about the burger would have been the bun, the pickle & tomato. On top of that, while the cheese had melted, it had already solidified. Despite the picture, once you bite in, the patties were really thin, dry, barely warm & seemed to lack flavor/seasoning. Again I didn't like the dirty sauce.<br/><br/>All in all, while I'm glad I got to mark this pop up off my list, I was very disappointed with the food especially since I really enjoyed the O.G. @ Pub Life Kitchen. This experience put me off trying out burger places for a while. I'll stick to my known good burger place for the next few times I have burger cravings.<br/><br/>Separately I'd rate the chicken burger a 4, the onion rings a 3 and the double cheeseburger a 2.5 and the dirty fries a 1.

Both of my friend had ordered medium, but either the Double's bun OR the outside of the patty was burnt... as that burnt taste was 100% there. Sydney has officially gone into burger crazy mode. With Nutella and burgers dominating Instagram and Facebook I was overdue to visit some of the more renowned burger joints. Deus Cafe recently collaborated with Pub Life Kitchen and Barrio Chino which really drew in the crowds. I've been a fan for PLK, and that was enticing enough to justify the drive.<br/><br/>With only a few burgers on the menu, I chose their Fried Chicken Burger - Fried Butter Milk Chicken, Green Sriracha Mayo, Lettuce, Tomato and McClure's Pickles. <br/><br/>I was hoping it'd be a remake of The Bird at PLK but this fell a bit short to my expectations. Their fried chicken was a crunch fest on the outside and gleeful smile inducing succulent chicken on the inside. You can't complain about McClure's pickles as they're pickl-icious. My gripe was that sauce... it felt drowned out by the fresh juices from the veges... which gave the burger enough moisture but I was looking for a creamy spicy punch from the sauce.<br/><br/>For a cafe that opens at midday and situated slightly inconveniently to most places, I still found myself 7th in line, waiting for a burger. <br/><br/>I loved the Deus artwork on the walls and exterior. I hated the long tables, which when busy, can be inconvenient for people to get out and in (especially the ones near the window). Their service was friendly and despite being there quite early I still had to wait around 30 minutes for my burger... and the place was only half full. Street parking is not a problem as there's plenty of it and it's all free for an hour. <br/><br/>How long will the collaboration last? I don't know... but if you're in the area and after a decent burger the there's no excuse not to try.

This review is for the Pub Life Kitchen and Barrio Chino's collaboration with Deus Cafe. Not for Deus Cafe with their standard menu. <br/><br/>The burgers are great. Had the cheeseburger, the double cheeseburger and the fried chicken burger. All were delicious. For me however, the sides were actually better. And that was the general consensus with the people I was with as well. The onion rings was the crowd favourite. Sweet onion and a crunchy and salty batter. The dirty fries were also great. Crunchy maccas style fries smothered with a heap of cheesy sauces. And lastly the jalapeño and pickle salad. It had a sharp bite which was fantastic and it was crunchy and fresh and helped cut through the day in all the other food. Great collab. Sorry to see it go.

Pub Life Kitchen and Barrio have collaborated to create the ultimate burger joint hidden in Deus Café on Parramatta Road, so after seeing rave reviews on the Fatties Burger Appreciation Society page, we stopped by to grab one of their creations and check it out! We started off with a set of their dirty fries, which for $7, comes with a drizzle of tangy cheese sauce and aioli on the top. The fries were so crispy, and while the aioli was slightly too creamy for us, dipping the fries into the spiced cheese sauce was such a delicious experience that we kept going back for more!=

Deus Cafe is this huge, fantastic biker-nostalgic cafe attached to Deus Ex Machina in Camperdown. Deus Ex Machina translates to “machine of god” and is a warehouse styled shop of all things motorcycles, and not just standard motorcycles, funky-assed cool motorcycles. The shop and the cafe have cool bike art and the shop sells some amazing clothes, the Deus range of jeans, boots, jackets and clothes etc plus other amazing hats, jackets, watches and so on, oh and don’t forget some awesome push bikes and some fantastic motorbikes and equipment. But I am not here to talk bikes, I hate the deathtraps personally even though they look sexy.............................. I am here for BUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRGGGGGERRRRRRRRRSSSSSSSS

With the exponential influx of burger places in Sydney the growing competition means better and bigger burgers for all to enjoy so when I heard PLK and Barrio Chinowere joining forces there was no way DT and I were going to miss out. Considering it's only a pop-up, taking up residency at Deus Cafe in Camperdown it isn't going to be around forever; until the end of January but I really hope it's extended or becomes a permanent addition. Honestly, I had only known of PLK's existence and from previous experience, the burgers were pretty fine. Barrio Chino was a new name to me but if PLK was involved that was enough reassurance for me that the burgers would be worth my while and money.

We have been to Deus many times and normally loved it, but today was not the usual standard. A change to the menu to now only serve burgers, chips and fried food. There was nothing healthy on the menu. <br/><br/>Paper plates, paper cups and way to loud music felt as thought it was a combination of a fast food joint with a night club. What a shame and waste of money. <br/><br/>

Came here to finally drop in on the Barro x PLK x Deus collab. I had the chicken burger while my friends had the cheese burger and soviet cheese burger. We shared the dirty fries and onion rings. My chicken was perfectly cooked. Crispy on the outside and very juicy inside. The dirty fries were great but the onion rings won it all. Perfect batter coating served with chipotle ketchup. Tonight wasn't very busy because of the rain but we enjoyed our visit.

Haven't been here since revamp however last time I ate here about 18 months ago, I had the French toast with rhubarb and it was so good I came back three times that week to order it. Excessive but I can get like that with delicious food. Will make it a point to go back soon

Just checked out the revamped Deus Cafe. I came here over a year ago for breakfast and it was pretty mediocre. This time, I was definitely impressed. The bun was soft and wasn't too thick or thin. The patty was cooked well and it had a hint of spice in it which I rather enjoyed. The veggies and pickles were crunchy and fresh. I'm going to say it, this is the best beef burger I've had in Sydney so far... 👍

Expensive, poor-quality coffee and perhaps only passable-quality food and intense attitude and bad service, Deus Cafe is perhaps only best if you work in the area or you are visiting the bike shop.<br/><br/>We were recommended the coffee at Deus but really do not understand the appeal of the place or of its coffee. One of the coffees was burnt, whereas the other one was watery. We also ordered iced drink, which was all right but suffered from the same price problem -- it was inexplicably expensive!<br/><br/>Food was rather run-of-the-mill.<br/><br/>Service was a big turn-off and the main reason why we would be very reluctant to return.<br/><br/>In terms of ambience, the place has an interesting concept and vibe going on, which some might dig; however, we do not really dig it and we thought it was simply crummy and grungy as.<br/><br/>Particularly for the poor value and the poor service, we would be hesitant to return or to recommend this restaurant/cafe.

I saw photos circling of the burgers coming out of the Barrio Cellar x Pub Life Kitchen pop-up at Deus Cafe and just had to check it out. I ordered the double cheeseburger with bacon and boy was it satisfying. The patties were juicy and a perfect medium, the american cheese was gooey, and the crunchy lettuce, fresh tomato and tangy pickles helped cut through the richness of it all. Truly a stellar burger.

Came here for the pop up colab with PLK & Barrio. Had the chicken burgs - the chicken was so huge, crunchy and juicy. The bun was soft but surprisingly didn't soak up the sauce too much and fall to bits - it held everything together. I personally don't like the pickles in it so picked them out. Also had the onion rings as sides & have to admit they had a good batter & the seasoning was great with a touch of sweetness. Only thing I would suggest is that we can have other options of sauces to go with the onion rings/fries other than tomato sauce (aioli is nice *hint, hint*). I need to try the double cheeseburgs next time. Good relaxed vibe unlike some of the other burger joints out there. There is also a lot of seating & has a great sense of space as if your eating at some car/bike workshop but a whole lot cleaner. Service was good as well & friendly.

Hungover and hungry for the Barrio Cellars x Pub Life Kitchen pop-up collab. I'm a fan of PLK so I came expecting good burg. Was not disappointed. I tried both the Cheese and the Chicken burger. The chicken was definitely the winner. So juicy and that crunch from that chicken was nuts. Whenever I see 'sriracha mayo' on a menu I'm immediate had but usually get let down later by how mild and un-sriracha it was.. This was one of those times. But I forgive you, that chicken burger was great.

It's a real shame that this cafe is not better run because it looks great and I'm a big fan of the Deus brand. The management are obviously a laid back bunch and this translates in the service quality, which is lacking in the cafe department. <br/><br/>The food is good but portions are a bit mean.<br/>I ordered the french toast and although it tasted great there was only 1 piece of bread for $13. The wife ordered the avacado on toast, once again only 1 piece of toast. For the cost of a piece of bread, c'mon guys. <br/><br/>A few simple changes in the approach to running the cafe would go a long way. <br/>I wouldn't return or recommend to anyone, it just wasn't good enough.

As the cafe I always wanna try once I went in by myself one day around 10am. Not many customers waiting and I ordered a flat white. I hv been waiting for like 15mins for only a cup of coffee which I have to remind the staff to check my order. Finally the coffee was here and not only that the froth looked like a cappuccino without chocolate powder the taste wasn't good as well. And they charge $4 for a small coffee if my memory isn't wrong. Anyways, that wasn't a great experience. Won't try any other time.

As much as I dislike going to cafes that don’t have an online menu available (theirs is in coming soon status), I had read many good things about this bike shop cafe, and it was handy for both my sister and I to catch up. So yes, there are bikes around and most of the tables are communal, but the place has it charm. I normally find Italian coffee too bitter for my taste but I liked their brew. Long black ($3.50) They have gluten-free bread and, in general, staff members know how certain dishes can be tweaked to be made sans gluten. In the case of the dill cured Tasmanian salmon served with creamy scrambled egg + brioche, it was a simple bread swap. Both the salmon and eggs were delicious, BTW. Dill cured Tasmanian salmon, creamy scrambled egg + brioche ($17 + $1.50 for GF bread) The Deus breakfast burger , fried egg, slow cooked pork + romesco was a bit trickier. I was told the sauce contained gluten (it is traditionally made with bread) and even though I ordered it gluten-free, it came with sauce. Not a big deal as it was just a matter of scraping it out. Great breakfast sandwich. Deus breakfast burger, fried egg, slow cooked pork + romesco ($10 + $1.50 for GF bread) They have a few gluten-free baked goodies, too. Quite sweet but good for sharing.

Tasty stuff. I have been here a few times. Everything i have had is quite good. The big breakfast with beans was great and surprising as the baked beans were not your standard heinzesque nightmare. Really well done with a great flavour - I actually look forward to eating them. Also had the pulled pork breakky roll which is quite nice. <br/><br/>My most memorable dish was the french toast with maple syrup, banana, strawberries and ricotta. I would get that again in a heartbeat! <br/><br/>My only request is that they put some pancakes on the menu. I live across the road and if I knew that there were pancakes there it would make my life more complete. With ice cream. And berries. And some sort of chocolate sauce. mmmm...chocolate sauce.

Deus Cafe is a great cafe that’s attached to a motorcycle shop and is themed accordingly. The service when I visited was less attentive than I’d expect from this sort of venue however the coffee and food was top notch.

It was a tough decision between their amazing selection of salads including a smoked trout, potato and caper salad, their mains including steak frites and their breakfast specials. My favourite Inner West Cafe!!!. I had such a positive experience at Deus Cafe today that I wondered what I could do to let them know. It isn't often that we share the positive experiences in life, and when looking at the past reviews I was not wrong. It seems that it is only those few customers that have something negative to say that have been here before me. I am absolutely shocked and wonder if we are all going to the same cafe!<br/><br/>I have lived in the area for nearly 10 years and have been coming to Deus Cafe since it opened. The staff have never been anything but friendly and welcoming. I have never encountered the 'rudeness' that seems to be spoken about below.<br/><br/>The food is always amazing. Im not a coffee drinker so I can't comment on its quality, but as a tea drinker I was delighted today to be welcomed by two friendly female staff members who discussed in detail the teas they offered, and described a home grown lemongrass variety that I couldn't refuse. And it was delicious! It's rare as a tea drinker that anyone has even an idea about tea, let alone encountering staff that knew about what they sell and had actually tried it themselves.<br/><br/>As for their friendliness towards children...I have a 2 year old and she is always met with smiles and conversation from staff. This cafe is one of the rare cafe's in the inner west where you can comfortably park a pram and not feel like you're an elephant in the mouse house.<br/><br/>I have been eating here morning, noon and night for some time and would highly recommend it :)

Pretentious fast food joint with a retro theme. The above average food is really all Deus has going for it. The staff are rude, apathetic and oblivious. You're treated with as much elegance as a cow going to slaughter. Prices are steep, the coffee is average and in out case served in dirty cups.

Easy Lunch. We came in for a Monday lunch. The place was quiet and this is when it's at its best. <br/>The tables are communal which is not such a bad thing (alot of place are doing it these days). But if this turns you off then come on a quiet day and you can probably avoid. <br/>The beetroot salad was very nice and great portion. Burgers were tasty but the buns fell apart very easily. TOTAL CR*P. Have wanted to check this place out for a while. Finally went there for Sunday brunch. What a joke! <br/>The food was overpriced - $17 for eggs benedict with sauce from the bottle, and cold eggs and toast. We were charged 10% on the bill because it was a Sunday... not even a public holiday.<br/>The place is huge and has share tables so it was overly loud and difficult to get accommodated. Staff were rude and dismissive. <br/>My friend quipped- why do diners like being treated badly? Good question. There was NOTHING positive about this experience and there really is no reason Deus Cafe should be popular. The only ‘logical’ explanation seems to be its affiliation with the Deus Ex Machina brand, which middle-aged inner westies with kids seem to love.

Hopeless!!. I went to Deus Cafe with my husband for breakfast. After ordering and PAYING for two poached eggs, with prosciutto, asparagus, and roasted tomatoes on brioche, and a coffee, we were pretty surprised when my breakfast arrived minus the main ingredient... the EGGS! We told the waitress, who must have been blind to deliver an egg breakfast with no eggs in the first place. Apparently she organised two more eggs to be brought to the table. They never came after half an hour of waiting!
