Came here on a Saturday for dinner. It's a nice cosy place and the staff are welcoming. It does get busy, so I suggest you make a reservation.
We ordered the Lepinja (grilled homemade bread) and the mixed meat for 2 (served with salad). The bread was nice and soft! And the mixed meat portion was quite generous! One thing that put me off about the mixed meat plate was the chicken, as it gave a butane taste to it. But all the other meats were nice. So, I would say if you avoid the chicken, the rest of it is quite nice.
FYI, your clothes will smell of smoke, as the grill opens out to the dining area.

This place makes the juiciest cevapi known in Sydney!!! We had the pork and tried the beef cevapi. Wow they were amazing. Bread was soft and grilled. Garlic prawns were yummy in red sauce. Was super cosy with my partner. Didn't have space for dessert but will definitely come again to try some. 10/10

If you are looking for delicious, generous Balkan food this is the place to visit. If you never been in that part of the world than be prepared to have the biggest meal of your life. There are many delicious dishes at this restaurant but our favourite is mixed grilled meat because it’s too hard to pick just one from a long menu. Definitely try “kajmak” (something like ricotta but better) with warm pita bread for starters as well as “sopska” salad. Another favourite dish from our childhood is “sarma” cabbage leaves with minced meat. If you can handle alcohol try some “rakija” and pick from few different flavours: pear, peach, plum . My favourite is honey one. If you still can manage desert after all the food go for “tulumba” similar to Greek dolmades but better 😉

We enjoyed a thoroughly enjoyable dinner at the European Grill on the 30th August. We were welcomed with a big cheerful smile by the owner on arrival, and treated by the waitress (...who I believe might be the owner's wife) like family the entire evening, we were made to feel at home, no request was too great, our meals were delicious, the portion sizes were more than ample (...I'm 6.2 and weigh 125 kg so it takes a lot to fill me up), overall it was a great evening and I'm certainly looking forward to going back again :-)

The $60 meat platter had a lot of different meats but it didn't seem like much for the price - felt like about a kilo. Everything was so overcooked. The pork and chicken was the most thoroughly cooked meat that I've had since PNG. Even the sausages, which should have handled it better, were fairly tough and dry and didn't really have much spicing to cover it up. Quite bland and boring meat overall.

Went there for Valentine's day dinner. Amazing food. Started with scotch and coke. For dinner we had grilled pork belly, slow cooked lamb and garlic bread. The lamb was so tender and the pork was cooked to perfection. The only struggle is to find parking specially on a Friday night.

Have been going here with my wife since they opened. Great food, consistency and a great atmosphere always brings us back, over and over. I even had a small christening here a few years ago for one of my children, that was absolutely amazing. I hope it is emulated one day in Wollongong as we have nothing like Euro Grill here.

Came here on a Sunday night and the place wasn’t busy. We ordered cevapi, lepinje, and domaće kobasice; the cevapi and lipinje really didn’t hit the mark. Being from Croatia, we were really excited for a familiar meal but were sorely disappointed.

Very nice and subtle schnitzel flavour. Usually in Australia the schnitzels from the pub are chunky and oily, not here, nice and soft flavour that was not overlooked at all.

An absolutely stunning experience! I have been driving past this place for a long time and always wanting to try it. We went there tonight, the food was exotic to me, everything I ordered were delicious. The service was also very friendly which made me feel I was at a Macedonian family party. Definitely would like to visit again.

Europe Grill is a sizzling Balkan restaurant on King Street which specializes in Croatian and Macedonian cuisine. The corner restaurant features an unmistakable garland of dried chillis at the entrance and an impressive chef flipping and turning the grilled meats behind a glass wall. <br/><br/>The restaurant is packed to the brim on weekends, so reservations are necessary. <br/><br/>I was absolutely missing my favourite Croatian meats last month and I ordered a dish of garlic prawns and Europe grill (pork chops, chicken, 2 cevapi and pleskavica). The garlic prawns were decent but average whereas the pork chops and chicken were overgrilled and extremely tough and hard. <br/><br/>Nonetheless, the star of the evening is the cevapi or grilled minced sausage. Mixed with chopped onions, ajvar, kajmak, red pepper and salt, the minced pork/beef meat was succulent, juicy and resembles the awesome cevapis I had in Zagreb and Sarajevo.

Been to this place a few times and loved it every time! If you are a fan of meat, especially grilled meats, then this is the place for you! The restaurant serves Eastern European dishes and drinks. Food is really amazing and meat is never overcooked. Portions are very generous, and meals come with a cabbage and potato salad with oil and vinegar dressing - maybe that doesn't sound too appetising, but it tastes great! Don't expect too much in terms of decor, the place is unpretentious and simple, but it feels welcoming and homely. I've only ever seen one waitress at this place, I think it's a business ran by the husband and wife. If you're visiting for the first time, don't be put off by the fact the waitress isn't chirpy or super-chatty - she is actually really lovely, just has the no-nonsense approach to taking orders :).

One word WOW. This food was amazing and really made me feel like I was in Europe. The atmosphere is ok but I would of liked to have a little bit of music. The decor is a little strange with having big sasuages hanging from the ceiling.The food comes in large portions and really fills you up! It's tastes great and if you love meat this is the place to go. Although this food is good it is a real shame that the price is way to high for a restaurant like this. It's a place you will go once in a while for an event. not a regular place to eat out with you family and friends mainly because it is just to expensive.

Just Wow!! We weren't sure what to expect with Macedonian cuisine, and were SO pleased we didn't give it a miss. Enjoyed garlic prawns and fried cheese with fresh turkish bread.... There was so much choice we weren't sure what to choose for mains and ended up having a mixed grill. Macedonian sausages with a side of delicious potato salad and coleslaw.... Words cannot even describe how content we were as we enjoyed our mains whilst drinking Macedonian beer. We didn't think it could get better until we were served port and apple strudel. Top notch service and food - we'll definitely be back!!

This place is quite average. I came her with a group for dinner and it was almost dead which is not a good indication on a Friday night in Newtown. The meat wasn't anything special, although the servings were large. I probably wouldn't return, there are far better places to eat in the area.

After my favourite Local closed (Balkan Cronulla) I thought I'd look for a new haunt, to be honest I was really disappointed order the seafood and meat mixed grill for two my Balkan comfort dish all a can say was bland 😔 not even the ajvar could save it....<br/>I may give it a second chance it was an off night but redemption I think is optimistic

An authentic Balkan restaurant that has never let us down. If you've ever been to Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia, Macedonia or Montenegro you'll know that it's all about the meat. A variety of them, sometimes minced together, always grilled and always served in abundance. It is a barbecuing dream. The meat - beef, pork, chicken, veal, fish, calamari - is supplemented with a basic cabbage salad, doused in a small amount of oil and vinegar that cuts through the heaviness of the meal. This comes, along with potato salad, complimentary with all the grills. We went there to celebrate a birthday recently and ordered the staple cevapci (sticks of minced meat), grilled calamari, pork infused with cheese and a huge hunter's burger pattie of mixed meat with cheese and mushroom filling that covered the plate. Mains are around the $25 mark but are good value. You can get some impressive platters as well. The staff are as authentic as the cuisine. The lady who runs it can be like your mum one day, carrying your kids around the restaurant, laughing and squeezing their cheeks, or distantly aloof. Either way the food is always top notch. Recommended.

Best BBQ and seafood!!. If you like good BBQ and seafood,this is the place to visit!Im going over there almost every saturday,i love the food but the best part for me are the pancakes with icecream on the end.that complete the whole picture!!! Have to try it,cheers:))

Don't waste your to. I found this restaurant to be overpriced for the quality of food with unfriendly service.<br/>The salad and bread was nice , meat was very fatty and poor quality. The beers were not cold. <br/>Would not recommend this place.

Stay away. Disgusting bland and over priced food.<br/>Unless you are missing your grandmas cooking then don't bother with this place.<br/>But at the end of the day, it was the disgraceful customer service that will make sure we do not return.<br/>I'm sure the elderly lady working there does not want to be there. But to be rude and aggressive as a waitress is not on for 2014.

Good/Average. Me and my husband and a couple of friends came here on a night out to eat. Firstly if you are the type of person who loves food and just appreciates food for what it is, then you will like this. Me and my hubby and friends are simple people so, what ever was put in front of us was really delicious, some say its not really Macedonian/serbian etc what ever you want to call it, lets just say its never going to taste as good as it would if you were eating at a restaurant in the actual country or from a relatives kitchen in Macedonia etc. The service from the waitress was ok, I think maybe she had some english barriers why she came across as quite arrogant or stand offish, so we didn't take that too personally, mind you my husband started talking to her in macedonian, and her face lit up instantly as she respond and started to talk back etc, I think she felt better speaking in her native language? Overall, good food I wasn't fussed. Quite Generous servings, Food is food mind you, of course there's worse places out there who charge the world and all you get is peanuts lol

What a wonderful surprise. We were searching for a place to eat and this lovely lade invited us to enter and try this restaurant. We were so pleased we decided to try it. Will return all the time. Wonderful food, lovely staff. The mixed grill platter for two is enormous and delicious. Everything was fresh and tasty. The flavours were aazing. One word to define it: WOW!!!!

This place is amazing! We went last night a group of 4 and we always end up leaving full! Meat for 4 always does the trick for us,and we end up getting some dips like ajvar makalo and its just perfect! The prices are reasonable as the dishes are huge!

Europe Grill is the most authentic Macedonian restaurant. Meat and seafood is very tasty and char grilled to perfection. This is are favourite family restaurant since they open they door almost a decade ago. He had so many parties at this lovely family restaurant and all of are family and friends are happy with this yummy food and great service.

Ms Liliana. This is not good Macedonian food, if it is Macedonian at all. Grilled meat is not a Macedonian dish and a Macedonian restaurant would be the last place to go for a good grilled dish. Not to mention seafood - there is no sea in Macedonia so I don't see how can it be Macedonian restaurant serving seafood. So, if anyone expects authentic Macedonian food, they will be disappointed. It is a shame, as there are great Macedonian dishes people would, I am sure, enjoyed much more. What is offered is a mixture of grilled dishes from the Balkans. We got lots of meat which was way too salty, overcooked and the potato and cabbage salad was both too salty and too sour. Bread was old - very dry.<br/>The service was terrible - the woman was trying to be friendly in a quite annoying way... The only good thing I could say is: portions are large. It was a real disappointment.

Europe Grill is the most authentic eastern European restaurant in Sydney. I am a regular customer at this family own restaurant. We love they food, it's very tasty, healthy and affordable. Had few parties at this place over few years time, everyone was happy with they food and very friendly service. I would highly recommend this lovely restaurant.

Overpriced and fatty meat with v average service!. Went last night to this restaurant with my partner and was very disappointed. Having travelled Eastern Europe we were looking forward to some good Macedonian food. Firstly we ordered some sparkling water before we looked at the menu. It was $11! If this was a really nice restaurant I could justify this...but it is not! Then we ordered a meat platter for 2. The platter was huge but full of very cheap and fatty meats. I would have rathered less meat and better quality. I couldn't eat most of it because it was so greasy. We were asked if we would like a sauce with our meat we said yes... Then we charge an extra $5 for a very small ramekin of mushroom sauce. This was never disclosed to us at the time of ordering. The waitress was not rude but definitely not personable or friendly. Overall a very disappointing experience and we won't be going back!

HORRIBLE. I went to this restaurant yesterday night. My boyfriend and i have travelled a lot in developing countries and it was by far the worse meal we have ever had.<br/>The meet was overcooked, bad quality, no salt or pepper, just over grilled meat.<br/>We paid about 80 dolls to have 2 chicken breast, 3 lamb cutlets, and 2 small pieces of beef. <br/>The service was terrible, as well as the chef.<br/>I suspect they have asked their friends to write the good reviews because i don t believe anybody can like this food.

To anyone that has disliked this place.<br/><br/>The food is AMAZING, authentic European grill that we can watch being cooked while we enjoy a drink and have a chat with the chef.<br/>The head waitress may seem like a bit of a tyrant but she is really just a businesswoman who wants her customers to have a great expereince and then once the stress is over she comes through as the lovely woman she is.<br/><br/>You cannot go past the food here. There is something for everyone. Not only do my hubby and I go there on a regular basis, both our families love it as a family dinner place as well.<br/><br/>Prost!

Terrible!!. I was Europe Grill last night 23 feb and it was horrid!! The food was so salty I could not eat it. I was left wanting litres of water. I was very disappointed. When my bf wanted veal he got steak. It has potential but I won't be going back. Terrible!

Rarely does a resturant get it so right!!! Awesome food, big servings, fantastic prices, good service, excellent coffee (something many resturants get wrong nowadays) and I'd even give the toilets a 7/10. This will be a new regular place!!!

Food yum - service poor. The food was really yummy; tasty and well cooked. We has the grill platter for 2 ($50-something) and it was enough for us and we are big eaters. The lady serving looked like she hated her life and all the customers who were making her day even worse. There were only three tables taken but she made off with our cutlery and crockery while we were still hovering over them with a fork in one hand, chewing as if it was imperative she get these things cleaned and us moved on for the lines of people waiting outside for tables (who weren't there). We felt unwelcome and rushed. We gave them this feedback but they argued saying that people were after that kind of swift service. I really think everything (except if there is too much) should be left on the table until everyone has finished eating and had the chance to wipe their mouth and have a good burp. No rush, relax.

TERRIBLE. By far the worst. The service was disgusting. We went for lunch, literally had menus thrown at us, the lady had a heavy accent and spoke relatively fast, when we said "pardon" and asked her to repeat, she was extremely offended and started barking at us. <br/><br/>The food took literally forever to come. We got some grilled food... apparently those were the only dishes available... we got served a salad each... other than onion i couldn't' taste much. We waited about 40mins for our meal, it FINALLY arrived. the portion was big but HOLY BABY JESUS WAS THE FOOD DRY AND TASTELESS! It was WAY over cooked, stringy and hard to swallow. <br/><br/>NEVER going back there again.

Meat-Fest!. What else needs to be said? If you want meat, meat within meat, or meat with meat on the side - then this is where you want to be -oh yes, there is quite a bit of garlic and chili too - food heaven.<br/><br/>Can be very busy. Wine list is true to the region. Think about sharing that plate of meat with another meat lover - the servings are huge.<br/><br/>The desserts are also great (even though they dont have meat in them).

Ya volim!. In the same league as Oxford Streets Balkan, Europe Grill is consistently good with its service and food. It's hearty no-fuss fodder all the way. Great schnitzels, chevapi, steak and salad. The complimentary end-of-meal port is a nice touch.
