Review Savta Cafe - Sydney

Aiden Jitze
We came to Sydney on holiday, and after not being able to find our original location, we stopped at this quaint little cafe on a limb.... and we are SO glad we did! The location is perfect! There was a nice elderly lady next to us who was sitting in the shade, with an iced coffee, reading a book! Where else do you get this in the busy districts!?!?! We were presented a spectacularly sized A3 menu with plenty of choice, and after a small miscommunication (language barrier) with the gentleman taking our order, we very quickly dined down on the tastiest food we have had in Sydney yet! My partner ordered the veggie sandwich, and I ordered the chicken burger and we shared a chocolate milkshake.... The milkshake came out first, and it was incredible! It was so strong and smooth at the same time! Then came the food in RECORD time! We have never been served food faster anywhere! My partners comment on the veggie sandwich was "This is so good! Is it weird I don't want this sandwich to end?!?! Someone knows how to roast veggies!" I had the chicken burger, but replaced the caramelized onion with avocado and can tell you, that was one of the BEST chicken burgers I have ever had the pleasure of dining on! My only question is: Do they deliver to Canberra?!??! This will be our go to spot for lunch when we return!!!!!! Thank you so much!

Had a delightful breakfast (vegan Shakshuka, coffee and fresh juice). it all arrived super quickly and was very delicious. All staff is very friendly, full of joy, and very fast and professional. For coffee they are serving a well balanced single country blend specialty coffee (from Colombian Connection Coffee). Also try one of their fresh juices, my favorite is Apple+Ginger

Been going to Savta regularly for the last few years, and the food never disappoints. Fast service, lots of options on the menu (plus new specials), we bring our friends and family here when they come visit. Just had the new veggie bowl this week and it was delicious - an amazing blend of flavours for something so healthy!

Food is AMAZING!!! We had the French Toast which was unlike any other, the bread was so fluffy and perfectly crisped on the outside. We also had the Shakshuka which was out of this world delicious, with amazing humus that is so creamy and flavorful. I watched the waitress put whole oranges in the juicer to make my freshly squeezed orange juice. The owners name is Asad and is absolutely lovely and so passionate about his business. The customer service is outstanding and hard to come by these days. You will surely be taken great care of.

Good location, nice leafy pedestrian street, sheltered from sun and traffic. New owners are not from the Middle East, but they have kept the intresting Turkish/Israeli menu. Shakshuka was very good (not sure I agree that its the best in Sydney though) eggs really nicely done, tangy salty feta (just right) fresh and fluffy Turkish bread. Will definitely go back to try the Israeli breakfast.

My fav brunch place in Bondi Junction. Great food, good vibe. Great for family. In door seating area could get a bit smoky (from cooking) at times if wind blows the wrong way. I prefer prefer outdoor area.

Pretty bad. Ordered a plain halloumi sandwich for my daughter and halloumi only covered half the bread. Showed waiter and he just shrugged his shoulders. My chicken shawarma wrap was dripping in oil. Fair enough if it was dripping from the bottom but was in a pool of oil on the plate. Had to use 5 napkins! Should have taken a photo. I think this is my second negative review ever so must have been bad.

We had the shakshuka and shawarma plate. Both were out of this world excellent! Decently priced and nice alfresco atmosphere. Highly recommend!

One of my regular spots for breakfast, and great for lunch too. The shashuka is to die for, and good value too. Shame they aren't open on Sundays...

Unfortunately I am editing my review that I left savta nearly a year ago as the last two times I have visited I have had no choice but to leave as I cannot get served. The food here is great usually but the service has been nothing short of abysmal lately- a couple who sat down after I had arrived had already placed their orders and received their drinks whilst I was still waiting for a menu. Absolutely shocking.

Very nice little café serving amazing breakfast, the coffee is a but disappointing but still on of the best places to go for Sunday breakfast in Bondi Junction.

Good food and great service. Most of their menu is excellent (though the shakshuka is usually overcooked). I'd love it even more of they used free range eggs and meat!
Service is always super busy and I can imagine if you have "an attitude" they won't suffer you gladly, but if you're nice they're delightful! They're always willing to make substitutions/additions and amend dishes. Their chai tea is excellent! Spicy and complex, yum!

The food is healthy and delicious. For the size and quality, I think it is good value. I noticed what other diners were having, the burger looks sensational and so does the hummus with pita bread – will definitely have that next time.

Came here while on a trip with friends and while we all have different tastes we loved every bite!
Great, tasty breakfast menu with something different than your usual menu.
Wonderful, attentive service with a smile, I will be back as soon as I'm next in the city.

Love this little haven outside the buzz of the shopping centre. We stayed 4 days in Bondi junction and had breakfast there three days in a row! Kids loved the huge bacon & egg sandwich, husband loved the very good coffee and eggs and the Israeli breakfast was a fresh and so tasty option that I loved. The only change I made was to have scrambled eggs rather than the omelette, just for a change. Quick, friendly service, the waiter remembered how we liked our coffee, everything great. Love it!

Love this Cafe!. This cafe is great!
I discovered it last week and had the most amazing Shakshuka in Sydney ever!
A friend told me to go there and I had to wait 5-10 minutes to be seated... but it was all worth the wait!
Check the photo of the Shakshuka I had!!!! For anyone who has tried this dish, and love it, you have to go to Savta

Shocking!!!. I wouldn't get near this place for a second.
The owner and the waitress was so rude to us, I never came across such a rude hospitality operators. I wouldn't even bother getting into details.
Coffee was week and cold, the food was 4 out of 10, and the price was extremely high.
They think they are a fine dining cafe shop at the Champs-Élysées in Paris
They very far from it.
Come back to reality guys, you're only a cafe shop, you should learn from your next door neigbour EAT cafe

NOT CHILD FRIENDLY...AT ALL!!!!. I had a very negative experience today at Savta, which really surprised me as I have heard nothing but wonderful things about the cafe. I know people who have eaten at this cafe many times before, over the past years, and I myself have been a few times too.
Firstly, when sitting inside, my 3 year old son and my 18 month old niece were being a bit loud but laughing and having a lot of fun, the waitress told us to keep our children quiet as it would disturb the other customers. So, we kindly moved to an outside table.
Secondly, my mother-in-law ordered a tart, which came out burnt on the top. When she asked for it to be sent back and another piece brought out, the second piece was still burnt (albeit a bit better)!!!
Lastly, just as my food arrived, my 6 week old baby started crying to be fed! (so typical it's always when your food arrives!). So I began scoffing down my sandwich, which required 2 hands, so that I could feed her once I'd finished eating. The rude waitress came up to me to tell me to "quieten down my baby and perhaps take her for a walk".....good idea love, and return to a cold soggy sandwich! Yum! (NOT!) Who knows if I had started breastfeeding, she probably would have told me I was offending the customers too!!!!
We have vowed not to return again.....and suggest that if you decide to go with children who might make a slight utterance, maybe you should rethink and go somewhere else!!!!

Lunch. Dissappointed.
Sun shinning, good company, looking forward to a nice salad and coffee. Took a while to take order. Salad looked great, but mostly capsicum. Coffee needed extra shot but otherwise good. But most disappointing was the fact that on a $25 bill I was charged a $1 for using eftpos.

Here's a good fress. Savta has a great formula. Eat inside or outside in the Mall, but either way you'll enjoy fressing the delicious food Savta offers. Regardless of the time of day, I tend to choose the Israeli Breakfast - consisting of chopped tomato and cucumber salad, dark olives, labne, omelette and pitta. That, together with a really well made soy cappuccino, makes for a great kick start to the day.....and no need to eat until much later too. Recommend? Absolutely!
