Review Qube On Bay Espresso Bar - Sydney

Wayne Lomans
Doing the rounds locally and have come back to Qube post lockdown. Staff here are always super polite and accommodating. There is a relaxed vibe inside and plenty of space, inclusive of an outdoor space. Now to the food! The menu is not overloaded and there are always specials on the boards inside. I got the Eggs Benedict with extra Bacon (probably ordered too much bacon, if there is such a thing). I don’t know about the broccolini but I pick my battles lol. Overall, great flavour and eggs cooked perfectly. Very comforting experience. Oh and the coffee is borderline best in the area.

The coffee and service was fantastic! The food wasn’t the best, it looks and sounds amazing. The truffle is more of a decoration, I couldn’t taste at all. The brioche bread was not very nice. The halloumi stack was great! Perfect poached eggs too.

The mushroom burger is very good, and the fries are just right. I like the texture. It's a pity that the burger seems to be a bit too salty, just one part of it.but definitely will be back try more food..

Beautiful little gem tucked inside an unassuming exterior. The brunch menu is pretty standard, but their presentation is amazingly pretty! I’d suggest ordering their seasonal of daily special items, like the Black Sesame French Toast, Tuna Tataki with brown rice, avo & egg and the Smoked Salmon patè on toast. Compared to other places and serving size, the price is definitely worth it.

What a great little coffee / tea house on Bay Street in Glebe. Conveniently located near Broadway shopping. The coffee is quite terrific and the food was top class. The fruit and granola was fresh, seasonal, tasty. All About the Avacado was truly delicious. Nice put of peppermint tea to wash down. Take away was busy. Indoor restaurant is rustic and nice. Outdoor courtyard is very cosy. Will be back and recommend this place for takeaway or sit in.

Qube was nice! The food was great and the service was good! The price was quite good aswell. I had the Hangover Cure with extra avo and mushrooms! My friend had the Qube burger and my girlfriend had the smashed avo. The only thing that bothered me was the bathroom... No door handle just a small little lock and it wasn’t very clean, also no soap. Still good food though!

A lovely cafe worth trying. Qube Benedict: Two half-boiled eggs cooked perfectly. Special Yuzu flavored sauce gives a surprising taste, a little bit sour, creamy but fresh. The juicy thick cut bacon is fabulous. I ordered V60 filter coffee with beans from Columbia. The beans were roasted too dark with an unfavorable bitter taste which shouldn’t exist in a Columbia variety. I tried the coffee in three time phases and the same problem exists. Since beans were not roasted by Qubes, no star was taken, but you guys should constantly look for better coffee roasters to cooperate with.

Our daily coffee place. The lady works there greet us with passion and full energy every time! Liked the morning wrap too. We occasionally go there on weekends for brunch too, and the food is also pretty good. Really liked the eggs Benedict, a bit unconventional but well balanced. Has a small courtyard that can be nice on a sunny day, but watch out for the magpies!

Delicious, loved the area and service

#brunch ✨
French toast with Matcha Mascarpone 🍵
😋Taste: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I really like Matcha flavor personally. Feel a bit disappointed because the Matcha flavor was not very strong. However Mascarpone tastes good.
What I need to mention is the service was really good. I didn’t know the dish only supply before 11am. When I asked them the boss said he can still make that for me even though I arrived late. Please get there before 11am if you like to try the dish! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~✨
Meat ball with garlic sourdough 🥘
😋Taste: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I like the matching of mozzarella cheese with meatball and tomato paste. It was yum when eat with garlic sourdough. I feel the dish really match winter.
The dish is not on the menu but the special menu on board. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~✨
Overall: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
📍: 56 Bay Street, Ultimo. Very close to Broadway shopping center, where you can find 2hr free parking.
💰Estimated average: $25-30

Cute cafe located near Broadway shopping centre!
There's outdoor and indoor seating.
The waitress and waiter were nice and friendly.
The food was okay, not great but not bad either. The waitress said they only served the shuffle pancake til 11am on weekdays but I saw another couple being served the pancake after 11am which was confusing...
There wasn't many sweet tooth choices on the menu which was disappointing!

A place with a good and peaceful vibe combined with tasty breakfast dishes and good service.
I felt welcome right away and the wait staff felt genuinely friendly.
We came to try the new soufflé pancakes and they didn’t disappoint.
Just to try something else I got the breakfast in a bun so we could get the savoury in first. It was simple yet very tasty.
The matcha latte I ordered was REALLY good and I’d come back for it and the soufflé pancakes.
The highlight ?
The mascarpone with a hint of lemon and the fluffy yet creamy pancakes 🥞

Forking Around Sydney
With so many Sydney cafes doing similarly pretty food these days, it's not easy to stand out, but Qube on Bay tries its best.

The very Instagrammable Black Sesame French Toast is a sweet lover's delight, with two generous scoops of black sesame gelato atop the thick buttery brioche slice. Dotted around the plate is a good variety of yuzu-macerated berries which are a foil to the sweetness, and it makes for a great dish.

Not as successful is their version of eggs benedict (unimaginatively called Qube Benedict) with one overcooked poached egg, the presence of broccolini which was a mystery as it provided nothing more a dash of green, and the too-thick potato hash croquette which brought an imbalance to the overall dish. Not unenjoyable by any means but a few refinements would've made it a superior plate.

The foundations are here for a great cafe, but it needs some tweaking.

One of my favourite dessert flavours is black sesame, so when I found out Qube on Bay was bringing back their Black Sesame French toast, I was super keen to try. The location, just a short walk across from Broadway shopping centre, has left me wishing that it had opened just a couple of years earlier when I was still in uni. I’m guessing it probably gets quite busy during the uni semester, but on Saturday afternoon it’s not nearly as packed as I had imagined.
Love At First Bite
Qube on Bay is an Asian fusion cafe in Ultimo that has both an outdoor and indoor seating area. I love the feel of this place, its cute and cosy and so I have been here for brunch on two weekends, keen to try it out. For our first visit, I ordered some drinks to start, a cappuccino, Egyptian ice tea and the Mixed berry smoothie. These were presented beautifully and delicious.

Qube has to be one of my most FAVOURITE cafes in Sydney! And not just because of their amazing staff and funky yet practical interior.. but moreover their FOOD! 👌 Qube first captured my attention and palate in Jan last year, and I’ve been going back every since!! NO matter “how” many times I visit - the flavours and presentation always leave me wanting more! Think asian fusion with INTENSE, but not oversaturated flavour!

The French toast & matcha mascarpone and Winter Specials: aka smoked salmon and meatballs were EPICLY GOOD! I’m also a huge fan of their Seasonal specials - it’s a great way to change up the menu without having to “create an entirely new one” - And, let’s face it! Everyone loves going back to a signature dish every now and then! At the moment their classic BLACK SESAME FRENCH TOAST has returned - And YES! Even though I’m a savoury person, I happened to enjoy it! (That’s saying something)
.
#sydneyfoodshare #sydneyfood #sydneyfoodblog #sydneyfoodies #sydneyfoodblogger #sydneyfoodie #sydney #sydneybrunch #brunch #cafe #foodie

The salmon Benedict is a combo of deliciousness, topping with an Asian flavor of yuzu hollandaise, hash brown, poached eggs and layers of smoked salmon. Really enjoyed it ! Then for the beef burger 🍔 it wowed us by its huge portion of serving and its sides of crunchy chips🍟 Want to escape the crowd and get some peacefulness and yum delis? @qube_on_bay is the ultimate choice😍
-
please refer to our INSTAGRAM @thepeppermint.mermaids for more quality photos!

I try it because the instagramable picture that make me wanna try it. The food was good. But not really feel special. It was just okay. The plating looks good for taking picture

Couldn’t wait to try this cafe, as the pictures always look so good, let me tell you the pictures were spot on as the food not only looked amazing 😉 it was absolutely delicious 😋. The black sesame French Toast was unbelievable and definitely one of the best I have had. The smashed avocado with salsa was sensational and the coffee was superb!!! If you enjoy an Affogato then the black sesame flavour was a must. Brilliant place for breakfast and will definitely be back for more. P.s. service was really friendly and very helpful.

Our whole class went here for lunch and it was amazing! The menu was really unique and their specials were delightful! Their iced coffee is f***ing amazing too and the staff and service was lovely! Looking for an opportunity to go back!

Just a short walk from Broadway Shopping Centre, Qube on Bay is a cute, little cafe serving all day breakfast and insta worthy dishes. I tried the French Toast ($18) and the Qube Benedict ($18) which were both delicious! i really liked the balance of the tart fruits with the semi sweet matcha mascarpone and yuzu curd on the french toast. Note that the french toast is only available till 11am! I recommend that everyone tries this cafe at least once!

#bestbrunch the place fits you people who likes a quick coffee and brunches. And don't forget to have their chips(yes chips) coz they had the best chips in town, thin cut chips with paprika powder and ask for chili aioli!! Da best.

Such a nice cafe located in the Upper side of Ultimo, lucky it's close to University but still far away from CBD for me to visit often. Serving delicious cafe dishes with Asian flavours, my favourite was the eggs Benny with yuzu hollandaise and the burger was pretty good as well. If only it was closer to CBD I'd visit often .....

Meeting new people is not only fun but it's also a great way to widen your network, moreover if we meet new friends with same passion. I was invited by Kera and Amber to join them brunch at Qube on Bay. What do we have in common? all of us have the same passion on food photography and food blog, how cool is that?

Located right near broadway shopping centre and a short stroll from UTS, with plenty of parking near the side streets, this is a great place to have your breakfast and lunch.

For those healthy lunches we tried the Grilled asparagus salad with assorted healthy goodness such as red quinoa, heirloom carrots, confit truss tomato, walnuts and more topped off with poached chicken.

We also tried the special dish for the weekend the meatballs, it was perfectly cooked and covered in a delicious red based sauce packed full of flavour topped with cheese and crunch buttered bread!

Now who can say no to dessert! We had the perfectly designed French toast, brioche French toast with matcha mascarpone, Yuzu curd, yuzu macerated seasonal berries and toasted pistachio. Delicious flavoured and the matcha mascarpone complimented the fruit and brioche toast.

Qube on Bay is another little hidden gem cafe in Ultimo!
What I ordered:
• Shakshuka
• Matcha Yuzu French toast
• Granola
• Eggs Benedict

Shakshuka - it has a little bit of salsa taste! A little bit spicy, served with a sourdough toast

Matcha Yuzu French Toast: a thick brioche bread topped with seasonal fruits and delicious scoop of matcha Yuzu mascarpone - love this

Fruity Granola - this has become my absolute must order dish in this cafe! The granola seriously, in my opinion is one of the best granola in Sydney!

Eggs Benedict - thick brioche bread, topped with smoked salmon, hash brown and perfectly poached egg then laden with delicious hollandaise sauce!

If you are ever in Ultimo, go and visit this cafe! The service there is amazing too!
Does My Bomb Look Big In This
The dangling orange cube is what will clue you in to the exact location of Qube on Bay. With prison grey walls and outside tables behind a high metal gate, it otherwise dissolves into the high-density urban backdrop. Despite the box-like surrounds, and concrete floors, the interior of the café has a surprising warmth. It’s created using a mismatched blend of farmhouse rustic and modern, geometric patterned furniture, splashes of yellow, and glass vases of Australian natives. The lack of coherent design makes it feel like somewhere you could easily hang out and chill. With cold drip apparatus on the table, and shelves of Coffee Supreme beans, it’s clear that coffee is a large focus. I give the Brazilian beans a whirl in Cold Drip ($5). Presented in a small bottle on a wooden board, it’s an easy-drinking version of this energy-inducing drink. With the weather warm on the day we dined, my young dining companion opts for the Egyptian Iced Tea ($7) and is duly impressed with the fancy crystal decanter and glasses offering up edible blooms and two different styles of ice (curiously, despite the café’s name, neither are what I’d call a cube). Red from hibiscus flowers, the tea is...

A pretty instagram feed is what put this cafe on my radar, even though it’s located quite literally around the corner from my house. You’d think a lazy girl like me would’ve explored every bacon-serving option within easy walking distance, but Qube does not cater for the mid-afternoon breakfast lovers, and shuts for the weekend at 1 pm on Saturdays.

Considering this small window of weekend service time, Qube was quiet on the Saturday morning that we visited, most people choosing to enjoy the airy courtyard, leaving the large inside area empty.

We chose the 'Something About Avo' and matcha and yuzu french toast. Unfortunately, after a long wait (considering there was only one other table who ordered food) we were disappointed as soon as this arrived at the table due to it’s portion size, which seemed stingy for $18 a pop. Despite this

Qube On Bay is a nice little cafe which is located in Ultimo, not too far from Broadway Shopping Centre. So if you want to escape all the crowds and get some peace and quiet, walk a short distance down the road and check out this cafe. As I walk in, there's an area of mismatched furniture with a bit of old character. I head outside on this occasion though, I am enticed by the sight of fresh air and the cactus plant. Matt and I look at the menu.

They Changed their menu!

3.5/5
Friendly service with loud music 🎧
Run by Korean and the decor is vintage style

0.5/5 Service time
Not very busy at 12pm today, but their service is super slow! We ordered one cherry ice tea and it came when we almost finished the meal.

2/5Food 🥘
halloumi cheese 🧀 on sourdough bread with smashed avocado 🥑 and poached egg
The sourdough is somehow over-cooked but still okay

Bibim rice 🍚 bowl 05/5
Omg that’s just cold bibambap. 18 bulks for it is really overpriced! It’s try and no meat.... so really suitable for vegetarians.

But, its taste is far behind the bibimbap. They tried to be creative, but it seems they failed...

Been here a few times and the food is consistently good, menu overall is fresh and healthy. Favourite dishes for me are the bibimbap and matcha french toast (also the pumpkin bruschetta and cashew asparagus from their old menu). Service is always great when I come, also perfect place to study

Not that amazing than we expected. We went there on a weekday noon. So many people there, and the whole shop was noisy. Maybe we had ordered some wrong dishes. The ‘ very very healthy’ had a weird seasoning, maybe that’s why it’s healthy. The best dish that day was ‘don’t even ask’. Anyway the coffee was nice.
@KeraBearEats
We came on a Friday morning around 10am. It was not very busy and there were plenty of seats.

We started off with two filter coffees. The Cold Drip was my friend's first try, she loved it. I enjoyed my Aeropress coffee too. We also received a complimentary Egyptian Rose Ice Tea which was superb. Not too sweet and more tea-like which was perfect.

The food is not only beautiful to photograph but also delicious. We took some time taking photographs our food so it was a bit cold by the end, but it was still very yummy. We ordered the Benedict 2.0. The bacon was thick cut, which must nicer than thin. We also ordered the Trout toast. Crunchy toast and beautiful seafood. The Black sesame French toast was also a must. It wasn't too rich or sweet, just right.

Recommendations: Judging purely from the food we had, I'd say that almost anything else on the menu will be great. Great place to go for food.

Spent $60 altogether. Well priced and will definitely return!

Black sesame seed is a widely used ingredient in Asian cuisine known for its nutritional value and nutty taste. It’s often mixed with sugar and transformed into desserts such as black sesame buns and black sesame sticky rice balls. It is, however, a relative novelty in the Sydney dining scene but now a cafe in Ultimo – Qube on Bay – features the seed as a key component of its signature dish.

They have stepped it up a notch with not only beautifully presented foods but also deliciously put together dishes. Too often you find cafes with beautifully plated food but then the taste is a huge let down, but this was NOT the case with Qube On Bay.

I was pleasantly surprised by the flavours of the ‘Cashew & Asparagus’ & ‘Pumpkin Bruchetta’ dishes. Both had crunch, both had nuts, and both had flavours that all married up perfectly on the plate.

My favourite was the Pumpkin Bruchetta & Black sesame French toast is one of their signature dishes!
The coffee is delicious too so you really you can't go wrong whether you want a simple breakfast or a nice salad, their food is here to impress.Just few steps away from broadway shopping mall along Bay street. PERFECT FOR ANY UNI-GO
I can't wait to go back with some friends!!

Very cute shop with friendly staff. The Egyptian ice tea is a blaze! The muesli is yum and fresh. The lamb Bao for the meet lover. And a chicken salad for healthy diet.

Nice tasty breakfast. It meets expectations of other breakfast places in terms of food. Had the Egyptian iced tea and green tea French toast.

A cute spot down Bay Street broadway! Service was exceptional, the staff was warm and friendly which definitely set up a good mood amongst the table. The pulled pork burger was good, the buns were toasted and was a surprisingly sweet burger. Fries tasted standard -couldn't taste the paprika seasoning at all. Relaxed ambience, and a great location for a nice meal, some drinks and catching up with friends. Would come again!

Qube on Bay is a little serene paradise amidst the hustle and bustle in the nearby Broadway Shopping Centre. The cool and relaxing cafe features an indoor space and a courtyard with high ceilings.

I have mixed feelings about the food in Qube. On the one hand, the flat white is smooth, refreshing and the temperature is just right. On the other hand, the St Benedict was served cold and unappetising. The toast was dry and fluffy and the lack of butter or hollandaise sauce makes munching a chore.
The Next Rush
ST BENEDICT: Redresses the Smoked Salmon Hollandaise & Poached Egg combo at a touch of class with its Zucchini Ribbon and Fried Leak, but its the Dukkah, Dill & Yuzu infused hollandaise that elevates it into a whole new dimension. The texture of the sauce is a little pastey, but the balance of herb, nuts and spice from the Dukkah and citrus of the Yuzu
work so well in the way this has been crafted.

POACHED CHICKEN SANDWICH is the underdog of this flatlay, but does not disappoint in cooking technique and flavour. Nicely cooked meat on fresh bread moistened by the avocado, swiss cheese and layered with spinach. A healthy choice.

Keep an eye out on the chalkboard because Qube likes to mix it up regularly and this month they're featuring their own CHICKEN BAO with a peach coloured sesame mayonaise adorned with black sesame. Gorgeous flavours in this. The service is top notch from observing the way they've got each other's backs with both service attendants knowing exactly who is in their premises at any given time and jumping in when they need to. The ambiance is casual and relaxed with seating both indoors and out in a space that the warm spring pours into.

Many reasons to visit - and even more to come back!

Coffee is excellent at this eclectic, spacious cafe. Loved the chia seed pudding with mango, coconut and fresh berries - light and delicious. Seatings are available both indoor and outdoor. The vibe is perfect for relaxed weekend breakfasts.

Great coffee. After trying out several cafes around the area, I personally reckon that this one serves better coffee than most of the cafes nearby.
Those Who Love To Eat
Every Thursday Qube has a $9 burger gig that goes on for the day! So if you're in the neighbouthood it is worth checking out. Located behind broadway shopping centre, lies this hidden gem of a cafe. I've known about it for quite some time, but somehow never seem to have made time to visit this establishment. Well, this morning was the morning that I decided to try the food and coffee at the place, that I have heard so much about! A word though, don't be decieved by the seemingly bland decor, the food and coffee here is surprisingly good, and service is prompt. Not only that, the food is extremely well priced. It must be the go to place for those who work around the area. The patrons seem to flow through the door and you know why?!
The coffee is good and for breakfast this morning, I had the hangover special, and it just hit the spot. There is also a small courtyard area to seat outside and catch some vitamin D.
If you have work to do, this place is a nice break from the confines of the four walls.
Issac_eatsalot
Had walked past here on my previous lunch trip so when I was back in the area I knew I had to go in and try. Got a beef burger and the kransky hotdog special - slaw with the beef is a different combo to usual but worked nicely. Kransky was the surprise. Avo on the base and cheese in the sliced sausage was great!
Princess Greedy Guts
An open & airy cafe with seating indoors or out. There is a great selection of food to please including some delicious sounding specials on the chalkboard. On this occasion for lunch, it was the beef burger, pulled pork burger & Teriyaki chicken bao (specials) that won the orders. All 3 dishes were delicious. The beef burger was a classic with the addition of onion jam & jalapeno mayo lifting it to the next level. The pulled pork contained a generous mound of sweet, soft meat which resulted in a delicious mess. The paprika fries are thin & crispy. In contrast to the burgers, the chicken bao was a lighter dish but not in flavour. Tender chicken tenderloins grilled & topped with a creamy, peachy coloured sesame mayo, encased in a soft, pillowy bao. The Nutella & Tim Tam milkshakes were delicious! A bit indulgent yes but not overly sweet nor too rich. Friendly service & staff round out a great meal here.

A wonderful cafe near Broadway shopping centre. You can choose to dine inside or the courtyard if the weather is nice.

Grab a menu from the counter as you enter, you'll be served with table water and have your order taken promptly. Service is lovely here and you will settle down in the mismatched furniture which adds to its eclectic charm.

It has an extensive breakfast menu and would usually choose from it as I enjoy a good breakfast/brunch but since it was well after breakfast, I went with their lunch menu. The Pulled Pork Burger caught my eye. It had a sweet taste to it as it had pineapple chutney, appleslaw, and a tamarind sauce to it. Although it might be too sweet for some people, I quite enjoy sweetness in savoury dishes so this appealed to me. The pulled pork was tender and moreish. The accompanying paprika fries were also delicious and you couldn't stop at a few.

They are known for their blends of coffee of I had a sample of two of them. I had an Iced Mocha and a Cappuccino with a Single Origin Bean (Colombia El Mirador). The iced coffee was made up the usual coffee, chocolate, and milk combination but topped with ice (rather than ice cream/cream combination). It tasted quite nice. The coffee was a smooth blend and had a distinct taste to it.

Where do I start!? Came here for the first time the other day and left with every taste bud satisfied! I had the French Toast and it was soo delicious. It was the perfect balance of sweetness and tartness and that passionfruit curd was a nice touch, so yummy. My only critique is I would have liked one more piece. It was a perfect portion size already as I was quite full after it but that's just me being a piglet at heart wanting that little bit more. The coffee and service was also really good. Very friendly staff. Tough to get good coffee, food and service in one place so I was quite impressed with Qube and will be back.

After a big night on the Razz in the city, we were desperate for some delicious food to get us going for the day. Qube on Bay was the closest cafe to our friends apartment and had a menu that suited us very well. I ordered the timtam milo shake with the angus beef burger and some fries. Best hungover meal ever. The shake was perfect, nothing to fancy but so delicious. The buger also hit the spot. Juicy meat, melty cheese and fresh bun along with plenty of sauce and dressing. Great fresh veges in it too.
Such a cute little spot and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The price of the food made this place even better.
Next time im in Sydney ill be back!!

Been here twice, nice service & good coffee. The chia seed pudding was cute but a lot smaller than I thought it would be. The decor makes it look like it's not as trendy as other ones nearby but it's definitely in that league
Sweetandyummie
It may look small from the outside but once you're inside the space is open and fresh and you can choose between sitting indoors or out. The menu it's great and has a number of breakfast and lunch items to decide upon. I highly recommend the special French toast that's only available before 11am and the Bircher muesli.

Found this place via Google
Didn't disappoint!
Great Chef putting in the effort makes for a standout brunch - not as hot as it could've been but still great flavours, haloumi was grilled but not melting in your mouth hot
Everything else was great! Finished my meal without a doubt!
Tastebuds were happy
And coffee passed the test! 👍🏾
Merci!

Great cafe with delicious food and great coffee.
Service is quick and friendly. I love the variety on the menu with everything from tacos to burgers to salmon salads and other healthy options. I had the pulled pork burger the other day and loved it.
The coffee is great, the baristas know a lot about the beans they use and really care about the coffee.
Great cafe for meetings, catching up with friends or just relaxing by yourself!
Simply Starving
Great little cafe tucked away in Ultimo. The atmosphere is relaxed and the staff are lovely - music is a lot of fun! The food is delicious and fresh. I ordered the grilled halloumi stack and loved it. Coffee is good and the cold pressed juice is light and citrusy - perfect for an autumns day. Portions are large and I will definitely be back if I'm in the area! Highly recommend 😊

A bit confused decor, service okay without being great but the coffee and food we're a hit, probably the best around the area. Would recommend

Overall, Qube on Bay is a lovely, hidden escape from the noise and pubs of george st. A lovely Surry Hills esque dining option, but in the heart of uni territory. I'd definetly go back to while away an hour or so in that quaint courtyard and try the butte

‘Because life is too short for bad coffee’ – this is Qube on Bay’s motto and one I live by too. They are a speciality coffee house where you can be guaranteed a great cup every time. The space is great for little ones and the food is delicious.

Qube on Bay are very serious about their coffee. Not only can you choose your preferred type of coffee, you can choose from house bean, guest blend or single origin. So many choices! Or you can let them choose for you for a fantastic rich and tasty blend every time. They are a favourite for local families, especially after drop off at the local school. In busy Glebe, Qube on Bay is a great option for families. The indoor space and courtyard are great for prams and when we visited there were a few mothers groups enjoying a catch up. There is no kids menu however toast ($5) and the selection of baked goods are great options.

Cafe Du Coeur was a little French cafe on Bay Street which recently went through a brand revamp. The result being Cafe Qube. The menu, the scattered collection of random retro furniture and the iMac slideshow of staff polaroids are still there. You wouldn

Good Coffee served with Ego. Great coffee..whats with the attitude of the staff here? I've gone in several times and feel like im an inconvenience ??

Small portions and incorrect order. I had wanted to visit this cafe for a while now as it's right on my walk to work, so last week I did and I was quite disappointed. I ordered the haloumi stack with roast tomato and avocado and an orange juice. The orange juice took about 20 minutes to come out, even though it was the bottled type! When the meal arrived, it was a very tiny portion and although I had asked for my eggs to be hard poached, and they were completely runny. I also noticed there was no roast tomato as advertised, and when I pointed it out to the waitress she said it wasn't included on that particular dish. I proved her wrong by showing that it was listed on the menu, and she reluctantly brought me a tomato on the side as I finished my meal. So on the whole - a terrible experience!

I came here last week for breakfast with a friend. it took almost 10 minutes for a waitress to come and give us menus and when she finally did she was serly and disinterested and I had to ask her to clean our dirty table. Our coffee was luke warm & not great. The food was good but it took around 40 minutes to arrive. It was a really disappointing experience having heard good things.

Qube on bay is a hidden gem in amongst the busy streets of broadway. The cafe is a mix of eclectic and industrial fit out with modern art works on the walls designed by graphic design students from Enmore. Aside from the cafe always bustling I was suprised and delighted by not only the coffee I had, a guest bean from Melbourne but also the service and friendly staff. Not to mention Jay the cafe owner, who treats every customer like a best friend. This is fast becoming my favorite spot in Sydney.
Kat
Great coffee, poor service. Went in for a take-away coffee with a keep-cup this morning. Holding my cup I asked how much a large was - I was told it depends on what I wanted [to be fair I could have turned my head to the side and seen the price]. Holding a coffee cup it would seem quite obvious I wanted a coffee but anyway... I was asked to keep my lid - something that always annoys me. They put the rubbish plastic lids on the takeaway cups. Sometimes the excuse is that there's no room, sometimes it's so they can put a filthy piece of paper with the coffee type IN a cup I am about to drink out off. Whatever the reason is I think my keep cup should be treated the same as all the other cups. Then they filled it to below the line inside the cup that indicates the ml.
So, unlike many cafés I didn't get a discount for bringing my own cup [actually that's not really such a big deal, I buy coffee at quite a few places that don't give cup discounts], I got less coffee and the staff were surly. Really nice coffee but why would i go back?

The 'it' factor. This funky cafe seems to have the 'it' factor. Loads of quality goodies and top quality coffee served jst right. Passionate people running the joint....and it shows. Love it.

Never again. Qube food is nice, good location however business management, ownership of the cafe and customer service is extremely poor. They just do not get it.

Best coffee in the area. Staff are friendly, bonus points if you're a regular. Excellent selection of takeaway snacks and lunch. Unfortunately, it's well loved by a lot of other locals, so expect a wait in the morning or at lunch. Maybe try calling ahead to get in early.

Nice cafe with a courtyard. Customers seem very happy. Enjoyed the latte I had very much - one of the best I've had. Home made muffin was a unique experience - tasty with freshness of fruits. It has recently been renovated and the retro yet chic look seem right at home in Gleebe Ultimo area. Highly recommended.

Consistantly great coffee day in day out. Great lunch menu too. A Must if you're in the ultimo area and need real coffee.

Fantastic menu, super tasty sandwiches, coffee made with care, awesome staff. I love this place so bad! I look forward to going to work because it means I get to come here for lunch!

Now Cafe Qube - Best coffee in Ultimo, hands down.
