Review Via Del Corso - Sydney

Lovely coffee and cakes! The service just needs a touch up! Then it would be 5 star! But I did love the macaron and coffee šŸ˜šŸ˜

Stopped by for some chocolates and wasn't disappointed. Pretty good quality and interesting selection. Tip: take a bag of choccies down to Hyde Park (a few minutes walk) and enjoy them sitting amongst the trees and watching the people & ibises passing by

This is a pastry cafe in Westfield Sydney 5th floorā€¦tried two dishes this timeā€¦both were delicious šŸ˜‹ and yummy ā€¦.little expensive but they are specialised in pastry šŸ„ so taste is worth the money we payā€¦highly recommended for pastry lovers to try this place and never be disappointedā€¦.a must visit in Westfield Sydneyā€¦

Nice little pasticceria in the westfield mall. The cakes are pretty good. Just the right amount of sweetness and perfect blend of flavours.

The cake is good, wide selection But the most expensive bad cup of coffee, the coffee is too šŸ”„ and watery? I had let it sit for a while to cool.

This pastry cafe is on the 5th floor of Westfield. They served various pastry, cake, macaroons, ice cream and crepe seems to be their signature. The cake was in a decent portion. The caramel cake has layers of different saccharinity, the total flavor was tasted layer by layer. My pistachio cake has a berry layer, the balance was nice, didnā€™t too sweet. But their coffee was just average. The milk foam was too watery.

Via del Corso is a Pasticceria e caffe in Westfieldā€™s Pitt St Mall food court area. Centrally located, at the top of the escalator, it is easy to find. Grab a table and order at the counter and your food is really almost instantaneously. They do have danishes, Italian doughnuts, croissants and muffins for those who are in the city at breakfast time and paninis for lunch. However Iā€™m sure more people want to check out the superb dessert list! Thereā€™s an array of crepes, served with cream and gelato that might whip your fancy, and the salted caramel and ricotta or banana snickers look insane. Some absolutely crazy gelato bowls or gelato doughnuts are on offer, so make sure you go with empty bellies! We had an assortment of macarons including Matcha, fairy bread, strawberry and blueberry. We even got the Macaroncino of a Nutella macchiato topped with crushed cookies and a macaron dunked on top. The drinks are certainly an instagrammers dream. Nutellino (thick Nutella hot choc), macchiatos in cones or Cremoso (with whipped cream on top), amongst many others are on offer. Make sure to try the doughnut shake, where your milkshake comes roped with a huge doughnut. We got coffee and a chai latte, but thereā€™s also tea and cold drinks if thatā€™s what you prefer. They sell a number of amazingly prepared patisserie foods and we tried the strawberry tart, of beautiful soft pastry and strawberries. Not only this, we accompanied our drinks with an assortment of mini chocolates like chilli, cappuccino, coconut rough and caramel. You can also purchase these as gifts. This place isnā€™t expensive and perfect for a break whilst you shop.

The store offers a wide selection of sweet treats, eat in or takeaway. This makes it an excellent dessert choice for any of the surrounding restaurants and somewhere to buy small gifts for anyone with a sweet-tooth. Offers ice cream, gift wrapped chocolates or macarons, donuts, sundaes etc. Pictured: a donut with cream, fresh strawberries and strawberry ice cream

Visited 17Nov19:
This cafe is located 5th floor at Westfield Sydney. The one of the few deep roasted coffee I found in Sydney.
The barista is efficient and attentive customer service.
I love cream chocolate macaroon served with strong latte.
Happy to come backšŸ˜Š

Gelato here is delicious (I had green tea and coconut), but a little expensive - $7.80 for 2 scoops. Most of the staff had no idea how to serve customers in order when it got busy. They weren't pleasant and were very slow.

I always have a coffee here and I have to say this place is the best patisserie in Sydney for sure. The cakes are amazing, the ice cream is one of the best I've had, and staff are really friendly and professional. I love spending my time here with friends eating the Nutella crepe.

āœ”ļø This patisserie shop looks, smells and tastes amazing. Itā€™s located in the middle of Westfield CBD and is a nice area to sit down, relax and indulge on some dessert and a coffee. I am yet to try their pastries or cakes, but I was impressed with the quality of their ice cream. The ā€˜Nutellinoā€™ on their indulgence beverages menu is a must try. Would love to have tried one of those mouth-watering looking cakes.

āŒ $7.50 for 2 scoops in a cup, standard price but not sure if itā€™s worth it? It is also not clear where to wait to be seated, especially when its busy and no staff are there to welcome you. I donā€™t like places with unclear instructions that leave their customers confused and just hanging, so I found it to be a little ignorant.

Food: 4/5
Presentation: 2.5/5
Service: 2/5
Location: 5/5

Have not gotten anything here in years. We stopped by after our super spicy dinner for a sweet treat. They offer possibly every form of Patisserie sweet treats that you can think of plus some more. We got one of the small cake the Monsoon, a layer sponge, mousse choc hazelnut & espresso cake topped with a macaron. It was a bit dense & sweet, rather heavy. To equal things on the macaron front, we also got a pistachio macaron, but it wasn't particularly enjoyable and we could've done without it. Overall solid & convenient.

Milkshakes are good here but the donuts were very hard, a bit like they were stale.
Service wasn't too bad and the shakes came out relatively quickly.
Located in the Westfield on Pitt St. so is easy to get to.

Great coffee here. I ordered a strong (double shot) latte which was perfect although too hot! I had to put cold water in it to drink it ... after 5-10 mins.

But the flavour was good and the coffee excellent. I was so impressed I went back and got a piccolo for myself and a latte for my partner. But once again both coffees needed cold water to be able to drink them.

Maybe thatā€™s a Sydney thing? Oh and I almost forgot, the pastries and the chocolates looked amazing! But after eating a bit of chocolate over Easter I didnā€™t indulge... this time hahaha

Anyway I was really impressed šŸ‘šŸ˜Š
Love At First Bite
Those that work in the city are bound to have dropped by the Westfield food court at some point for lunch. One of those outlets is Via Del Corso which satisfies even those with the biggest sweet tooth. We came by one afternoon for an afternoon sweet snack and will share that experience with you. To start we ordered an ice-cream bun which consisted of a brioche bun filled with three scoops of gelato of your choice and we opted for rainbow, golden daytime and rose and lychee gelato. It was then topped with a macaron and two toppings of your choice and we went for a strawberry and cream macarons, and sprinkles and nutella sauce as the toppings.

An expansive cafe that offers all types of desserts including chocolates, cakes, ice creams, macaroons, as well as beverages of both the hot and cold variety. It is situated within the food court on level 5 of Westfield Sydney.

Make your order at the counter and they'll ask if you want to eat in or takeaway. Either way you will need to wait at the counter for your items to be served up. Service was quick and friendly.

Had the Monsoon Cake which had a delicious mousse encased in a jaconde sponge and topped with a dainty macaron. This was delicious to eat! The Mocha I had was slightly bitter for my taste but with the cake it wasn't too bad.

Tried couple of times long before Zomato time.
Today I have a Nutella and peanut butter flavour.
It cost me $5 a scoop, I think it's a pretty standard price for gelato in Sydney.
Peanut butter was dominant and Nutella just a hint on the back ground.
My wife made me indulge in this crepe and coffee. The setup here is pretty cool, you can get a seat (this is Westfield after all). The service is not bad. The gelato here is ok (I'm a snob for fresh gelato) and passable. There was too much sugar on the crepe but still reasonably nice - don't eat all the cream. Priced well....
Parramatta Foodie
I had the pleasure of being invited to visit here. The gelato and sweet selection is huge. This place is in the middle of the level 5 food court of the Sydney Westfield so good for a pit stop after you've had lunch.

The desserts I got were huge and beautifully presented. The service was very friendly and quick. I highly recommend šŸ‘ŒšŸ»šŸ‘ŒšŸ»šŸ‘ŒšŸ»

Wide choice of tasty sweets.
My lemon and meringue tart was delicious and made with extra meringue comparing it to other similar places.
Very good service.

After a fulfilling lunch or a fruitful shopping day, I often visit this store for dessert treats. Ice cream, milk shake, cakes, you name it, they are simply delicious! The only thing is the staff usually take a while to notice you, polite but not really welcoming.
Coffeebrunchanddinner
Chocolates, cakes, macaroons and coffee - this is a place to indulge your tastebuds while you indulge you shopping habits at Westfield Sydney. With a huge selection of sweet tooth treats you are sure to find something that will entice your appetite. We went with the Chocolate Panna Cotta and Snickers Bar cake. The Chocolate Panna Cotta was creamy, rich and just the right mix of flavours. The Snickers flavoured cake was a caramel delight. Grab yourself a coffee to wash these down with a take a well earned rest from your shopping adventure

Lovely dessert bar situated in the CBD Westfield. Massive selection and perfect to satisfy your sweet cravings. The cakes were beautifully presented and extremely tasty . The Nutella mocha ooozed with Nutella and was incredible. The selection of macaroons was huge and worth enjoying. Wonderful experience !

Every dessert option any sugar fiend could ever wish for. We got the snickers crepe, gelato burger, donut topped cookies and cream shake, strawberry tart and a coffee-in-a-cone. The crepe was the standout- Nutella and peanut butter lovers must try this!!

I was slightly confused where to order but was promptly approached and served by the friendly enough staff. They didn't seem to have an evident line and you just walk up to their counter and hope for the best.
I had a skinny mocha and matcha green tea macaroon. I also had a try of their green tea latte as well. Drinks were both great, left me wanting more. As for the beautiful macaroon which originally grabbed my attention to try this place out, sadly, were dry and almost a tad chewy in the centre. Flavours weren't fresh, like it had been sitting in the fridge for awhile or something. Lucky I had a delicious cuppa to wash that taste away. What a shame. Maybe next time I get a better batch!

Sitting on the middle of the large Westfield food court this place doesn't go in noticed. With all the eye watering goodies on offer, you'd be a fool to walk buy without stopping.

Although the service needs improving, the desserts themselves are great and will definitely brighten your day

The staff were among the most disinterested people in hospitality I have dealt with. They were rude, did not care - what they are doing in hospitality was beyond me - all the ones we dealt with on this our first and last visit had what my partner (Spanish by birth) thought were Mexican or South American Spanish accents that were more interested in talking to each other than serving us while we were shopping on the Australia Day weekend. We were desperately hoping they were not students from a hotel/hospitality school because if they were pity help the hospitality industry.

We did not see any signs saying where to order and when we asked we were snapped at telling to go somewhere to order.

The mango crepe (ordered because we have fond memories of yum cha mango pancakes was a disappointment - mango syrup - no real mango.

So many other places at the food court to try and we will.

Very disappointed by the lack of service.

Came here after lunch looking for some great ice cream.
Ordered the Ferraro rocher ice cream in a waffle cone with chocolate/nut bits but the service person was so rude and didn't bother to wait around to hear the second part of my order (ie the waffle cone). When he came back I kindly informed him he had the wrong waffle cone before he put the ice cream in it, he rolled his eyes and didn't say anything. Terrible service!
Managed to finally get our one ice cream despite all the difficulty and was disappointed with the elastic taste. However the cone was very nice and the service size was good.

After having lunch after having lunch in the Westfield foodcourt or during shopping, this place is a great stop for a sugar hit. I have tried their cakes and chocolates but their gelato is what I always come back for. I love their fig, green tea and black sesame flavours although it is slightly pricey.Ā

Still there aren't many gelato options in Pitt street mall so when the craving hits, it's my go to.

If you have a sweet tooth, then this place is a must to visit! Vast array of gelato, cakes and tarts - which doesn't make it any easier when it comes to choosing what it is you actually want. Haha well why not try one or three!
RebeccaTan
used to have Gelato which is very good by the way but this time I tried panna cotta. it is a disappointment. as a formal sweet shop, this panna cotta is not very qualified. just average level. nice packaging though.

This time I only came to buy a cake but I often get coffee here when city shopping. I bought a ricotta cake to bring to a friends for dinner.
I find the service, coffee and cakes all good and have never had a bad cake. Worth a try if your after something sweet

I went here after lunch. Always keep cleaned and tidy. That's my impression of the cafe. Do you feel like eating sweets?? Defs you'll find your fav one. There are lots of yummy gelato and cakes. Makes you feel hungry even I'm full after lunch.haha Friendly staff and I like the joyful atmosphere. The coffee is right temparature, good smells and awesome.

Their selection of desserts looks mouthwatering and makes you want to have all of them as it's hard to decide which one to eat. For $9 each we got the baked ricotta cheesecake with nut praline and a black-forest cake. My favourite was the cheesecake as the combination was good without a high sugar content. The blackforest was also good especially the chocolate mousse layer. But it was way too sweet for my appetite.

Food is delicious, prices are on the higher end, and service is off-putting . Went for an afternoon treat with my partner and decided to try their build your own sundaes. There were a wide range of flavours to choose from (we went with mango gelato, raspberry sorbet, cookies & cream and pistachio). Next came a choice of toppings and syrup - a list of both which we had to force out of our server who came off as very surly, and clearly looked like he could think of a dozen better things to be doing with his afternoon. $15 between 2 people for a 4-scoop sundae was rather pricey but the icecream was absolutely delicious - what little of it there was. I dont mind a little whipped cream with my ice-cream sundaes but I was shocked by how much they could cram into one cup! The entire bottom was a layer of whipped cream, followed by 4 scoops of ice cream which was then further smothered in what appeared to be an entire can of whipped cream.

Would only come back for more of their icecream - which I admit is just as good as Gelatissimo but slightly more expensive. Definitely not worth $15 for what is essentially a cup of whipped cream.

The nicest way to wind down, or recharge for a weekend of study is always over a good cup of coffee. Salted caramel eclair optional.

Make that compulsory.

You see, liquid gold oozed out from the crunchy pastry shell and time probably stopped for me to savour that moment. It really was that good; I was stoked to find it in one of my go-to cafes so I can get a quick sugar fix if Iā€™m in Westfield.
Via Del Corso Pasticceria E CaffƩ on Urbanspoon

XO Lauren
About these ads
Share this:

Twitter
Facebook
Google

Like this:
I went for a Fig, Honey and Pistachio (which Iā€™ve heard many bloggers talk about), as well as a scoop of Hazelnut Praline. I preferred the Hazelnut Praline out of the two. While the Fig, Honey and Pistachio was considerably tasty, I never really spotted the fig at all. My friend had a scoop each of the Snickers and

...Via Del Corso Pasticceria e Caffe does not dissapoint. The bright, circular haven in the middle of the food court offers numerous sweet delicacies from tarts to gelato to their famed macaroons. We were lucky enough to try the Peanut Butter and Green Tea macaroons ($3.50 each). They were both unique in flavour, indicating that each
Mademoiselle Mange A Sydney
Via del Corso has the BEST black sesame ice cream ever. Normally, black sesame ice cream leaves a milky after taste thatā€™s not pleasant after couple of spoonfuls. It tastes generally very nice at first, but the taste seems to vanish very quickly once you go on. This is the first time it lasts (as in for good quality chewing gums) Yep thatā€™s right. The taste of black sesame is as good the second, third, etc spoonfuls!!
Sir And Mlady Dine Out
Via Del Corso has quite an extensive range of food from cakes, pastries, macarons, gelato and coffee. The hardest part is what to choose. The best thing to do is take a lap around the place first - its a big circle - and check out the options. Its like a coffee shop and patisserie all in one - with an Italian theme to it.
MynameisFood.
If you see a big round displays filled with yummy tarts, cakes, gelato and other sweet treats, then you may find yourself in True Italian desserts and coffee haven.. Located in the food court area in Westfield Sydney, it will definitely be hard to miss..
Tales Of A Confectionist
They also have interesting macaron flavours (Iā€™ve eaten them before, not bad) and a delectable looking gelato range, Iā€™m definitely coming back to try more.

With the on-going macaroons craze, suddenly, almost everyone is selling macaroons. And one of our favourites is from Via Del Corso. Among the flavours on offered include Gianjuga, Dark Chocolate and Peppermint, Orange and Honeycomb, Salted Caramel, Peanut Butter, Green Tea, and Strawberry Shortcake.
Justdessertsau
One place which is definitely not overrated is Via De Corso, up on Level 5 of Westfield Sydney. If youā€™re human and are not diabetic, youā€™ll love this place. It has amazing looking gelato, moulded chocolate logs, truffles, handmade chocolate, brownies and pastries e.g. the (mini) CROQUEMBOUCHE, chocolate and almond croissants.
Juji Chews
We spotted Via Del Corso Pasticceria E CaffĆ© and decided it looked like a good spot for coffee. The cakes and pastries in the glass fronted cabinet were tempting, but we all opted to stay clear knowing weā€™d be enjoying a big meal for dinner.
Dumplinggirlandcheesecakeboy
The sticky fig honeycomb gelato had a wonderfully creamy consistency without going over the edge, the subtle sweetness of the sticky figs and delicate crisps of honeycomb were heavenly.
Lola Li
Almost too pretty to eat! But too indulgently delicious not to eat.
Forking Around Sydney
The final piece in the three-course afternoon tea/dinner was a dessert from Via Del Corso, whose counter is filled with all manner of hyperglycaemic goodness. As I was finishing my half of the pizza, K went to make the agonising choice. He eventually, after much thought, came back with the Toblerone, an ice cream pyramid of milk chocolate and white chocolate with specks of nougat and nuts, as per the chocolate bar. The ice cream was smooth and luscious, and the chocolate sauce poured on top somehow manages to run down each side of the pyramid symmetrically. The small plate of whipped cream, the chocolate swirls, and the powdered sugar were distractions but we managed to finish it. Of course.

The eye catching display of desserts and gelato on offer from Via del Corso is certainly one for me to revisit and try. I have my eye set on the fruit tart ($5) although a single scoop of gelato comes at a premium price of $5 ā€” you'll get two scoops of qu

Via Del Corso have an endless supply of desserts, chocolates and gelati available - It was hard not to go crazy. We actually just stuck to the first 3 display cabinets as looking at the others would prove to be too much tempation for our already full stomachs!

I was like a little kid in a candy shop when we stopped at Via Del Corso - grinning from ear to ear with twinkling eyes... Loved everything about it, the pastel colours, the amazing display of colourful gelato and the desserts and the cakes and the macaro

The name is long and arguably tossy, but there's no doubting the pastry, chocolates and gelato are every so good. And they're stunningly presented, individual delights spot-lit just like precious jewels. I'm normally not a fan of macaroons (what? a food blogger who doesn't faint over macaroons? wash your mouth!) but Walter convinced me to try some with coffee. And of course, it was in that premium food court, Level 5, Westfield Sydney. Despite my reservations, they were very good, that hard soft shell and the gooey flavoured centres were quite more-ish. And of course, you can't have macaroons without the fancy flavours. My favourite was the strawberry shortcake , enough strawberry without it smelling like cheap scent. Salted caramel was for me, very Asian, we often added salt to food to enhance sweetness. The Pavlova flavour should have been a favourite just because it made sense with macaroon texture, but for me, it was neither here or there, I could taste the sugar but, sadly not muc

Fairly poor coffee - tasted largely of hot water. Great ny/vanilla cheesecake though. Service reasonable.

Donuts. The store has really nice donuts and gelato. I used to but from the store a lot, until the service got bad and I agree with previous review, the girls are on the rude side and super slow, which is why I rarely go there now - maybe once a year.

Always great cakes and coffee

Expensive, service surly. Had a 2 scoop cup here of gelato - $7 versus $6 at Gelato Missina and that's in the middle of a casino so a lot of this money is going to the Lowys.

Wanted to get a couple of macarons at the same time and she told me in no uncertain terms to get lost and buy them from someone else. Then they wouldn't accept my card after I'd just put several thousand on it. Gelato OK but nothing to write home about. Prices here for the other items are exorbitant.

NIce macarons!. Grabbed some morning tea here and decided to have some macarons and they were delicious. Prices are reasonable too.

Big Macarons. The macarons are big ($3.50 each). Good flavour especially the strawberry shortcake!

This place is amazing! Some of the best macarons ever and I've tasted a few! The latte was excellent and the staff were very friendly and efficient.

Bellisimo. I just got back from an amazing holiday in Italy last month and have been searching for something even close to the amazing flavours they have over there like fiordilatte and amarena and toblerone. via del corso don't have any of those even though their website says otherwise. still, it's pretty good gelato and the flavours are sure to please most aussies and even some asian people with green tea and black sesame. I am still yet to find my fiordilatte in the cbd :(

Mixed. Coffee just tastes like milk but their gelato is good.

Discriminated. This was my first day out after an injury that had me bed ridden for 2 months, my friend took me out shopping and in need of a trip to the hair dressers and beautician. Oh and had lost one of my front teeth. But I am alive and lucky to be here.
I ordered a flat white and a desert, I was surprised at how fast my flat white was given to me within seconds, I them looked at my flat white I was shocked on how they could serve me this disgusting flat white. I said to my friend I am not going to except this.
I informed the counter girl that took my order that I was not going to except this flat white as there were too many bubbles can you make me another please. Before she advised the barista she handed a flat white to the customer who ordered a flat white before my order it was perfect so I quickly realised that I had just been discriminated and given the bad flat white. And they were so rued to me they made me feel like I had done something wrong.
I took the second cold second flat white and the disgusting weeks old lemon meringue.
I met up with another friend later that afternoon and mentioned it to her and I was happy to hear she had similar experiences at this cafe, coffee was disgusting and staff so rued especially the bold man making the coffee. I could take legal action as I was approached by the lady who had the perfect flat white and she said to me that was discrimination and handed me her business card.
I am shocked as this can still occur.
Windi Andriani
Not good. Latte is disgusting.. Can't taste the milk.. The staffs are rude! Bad customer service
VioletLily
Sticky fig and honey ice cream. ... amazing! Incredibly creamy with lots of honey, fig bits and a little toffee.
Erin
So many flavors. There're nearly 50 flavors of gelato there. For someone who is always after exotic flavors, I had fig honeycomb and fig pistachio. Both are quite nice although some people might think the honeycomb one would be a bit too sweet.
There're still so many other flavors and so many other cakes I want to try. Now I think I will probably visit this place every time I shop at Westfield, which is probably three times a week.
Iheartfood
Delicious chocolate but awful coffe!! Also need to train their staff better on customer service cuz two groups left angrily after coffee was still not serviced in 20mins

There isn't much to say about this place, because whatever I do say will definitely sell it short. The desserts have to be experienced for themselves, but here's a little overview.

The elliptical kiosk is quite interesting, with an alternating pattern of benches with seating and display cabinets for the food. At one end of the ellipse, you have ice creams (there are SO many flavours), and as you go round, there is a section for cakes, a section for iced pastries, a section for other pastries, a section for cannelloni's, etc. etc. There is also a section for the most exquisite looking desserts that would definitely be considered high end dessert dining.

The prices are a little steep, but the servings are generous. I have only had the ice cream a few times at this point, but it has been consistently delicious.

They also have EFTPOS, so if you don't have money, you can use your card, although in the times I have been there, sometimes they charge a 2% surcharge, and sometimes they don't.

The staff are also really nice.

Great food, great staff and a great atmosphere. DELICIOUS!
