Authentic Mexican food!!! Great flavour and lots of options to chose from. Friendly staff and good choice of beer and tequila. Nice atmosphere…. I will definitely be back !!!!

I love that they have REAL Mexican classics that you don’t find on most Sydney menus (as well as all the classics). I had the pozole, and it took me right back to Mexico. Yum! The owners are extremely lovely and the atmosphere is friendly and warm. I’lol be going back to try more

Having just moved to Surry Hills just a few doors 🚪 down from MBC, I've been there 4 days in a row, getting their amazing nachos with beef, along with their also amazing mango 🥭 and strawberry 🍓 margaritas 🍹. Have also tried their tacos 🌮, which are authentic. Everything is insanely fresh, they even make the corn 🌽 chips in-house, which you can definitely taste. After eating here, pub nachos will never be good enough. If you are looking for authentic Mexican, please try here

Big plates, nice staff and good food. The food is best consumed on the place, and they re typical mexican. Only down is no split bills

Authentic Mexican restaurant. As soon as you walk in, it feels like you're transported into a beautiful faraway place. The ambience and decor is very detailed and a pleasure to look at. The service here is incredible and friendly and very welcoming. The food is so fresh and tasty and authentic and the serving sizes are huge for very decent prices. There are so many options to choose from, everyone will be happy! The Burritos were delicious and very filling and fresh. Pretty much most of the menu can be altered for vegan requirements and they also have a vegan cheese option !! And it tasted great in the burrito. The seating was spacious and comfortable. The drinks are delicious and there's lots of variety to choose from. Definitely give this place a visit if you love food. The ambience alone is worth visiting this place. It's such a fun experience alone or with a group and I will be back in the future for sure !

Worthy of 6 stars. Amazing burritos and tacos. Can’t believe I haven’t left a 5 star review already. Authentic Mexican is so hard to get in Sydney. MBC is a stand out among so many. Delicious food, wonderful decor. Horchata stunning!! Good vegetarian options.

Amazing food, it really tasty and fresh, the tortilla soup it’s the best that I have tried so far, all the dishes are big and delicious. I went with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday party and they were great. They have a kind of Mexican mariachi that night. I have been a couple of times already and I haven’t ever been disappointed. It’s always good !!

This is my first time having Mexican food outside of food court tacos, so it's definitely different to what I'm used to. I really enjoyed the green tomato sauce on the enchiladas and the portions were reasonable for the price. Nachos were good but the liquid cheese felt a bit greasy for me. I will be back to try other things though!

For the best, authentic Mexican food look no further than this hot spot!! The food here was so delicious and the service was great! Beatriz gave us recommendations and made us a perfect Michelada.

Great nachos and everything else is yummy too. Nachos have liquid cheese sauce and grated cheese. Must add guac to your dish! like their chilli beef more than plain ground beef, has more flavour.

The closest to real Mexican food in the CBD, I really enjoy the enchiladas and pozole, it's my go to when I'm missing home, all the others are just tex-mex.

The blandest Mexican that I've had in Sydney.  It takes a lot to give 1 star but when you bite into the burrito without adding any sauce...you just get nothing. It's blander than Zambrero. I added habanero sauce to make it edible but that just overwhelms with chilli. Why can't we get anyone in Sydney who makes an effort to actually cook flavour into the meat?  Apart from the blandness, the burrito ingredients were basically the same as Guzman but the meat seemed lower quality. They have $10 lunch specials but, at other times, they seem more expensive than the competition.

Friend recommended me here for some authentic Mexican and was not disappointed. Had the tostadas with ranchero chicken filling, it was fresh and had great flavour. Also the churros with dulce de leche dip for dessert were crispy and delicious.

Authentic and delicious mexican food at a reasonable price. <br/><br/>Super friendly staff.<br/><br/>It would be awesome if they had a few more vegan/vegetarian options.

Been there once and tried their burritos , though a little expensive it tastes alright. Flavors arent overwhelming or anything just mild and since the meat/bean was well cooked it tasted alright. Once u come out after the meal you will kinda go OK not great not bad.

Best Mexican I've had in this area. Decent value and good service - I always just get take away. Bf didn't have the best burrito as it was mostly meat and no salad at all, but would ask for salad in it next time.

Me&Amy fiancé are so in love with Mexican food so ended up here trying the naked burrito and quesadilla. Portions were pretty abundant but food was a bit cold and staff not really focus on customer service. Not bad overall (considering the price is good) but there is room for improvement.

Ordered the Mexican style nachos. It was pretty good. The quantity was huge. I had to take away the left overs. The service was pretty good.

It's a small place but I do like the ambience in here. The food was nice but nothing special either but the prices were expensive. I liked the flavour of the beans, reminded me of what I had in the USA<br/>At least the food came out very quickly

The old lunchtime burrito option! You can often tell the value of one of these by its weight as it's handed over. Fair to say they give you good value here, plenty of meat in the filling. So much so it could actually use a bit more salad.

I tried vegan friendly burrito with vegan cheese and sour cream. Was yummy. I am going to come back again. Highly recommend to all vegan who love Mexican food:)

I read the reviews. I booked using their online booking application. I specified that I wanted a table outside as I had a puppy with me. When I arrived they said no out door area and I could get take away. This is not cool in anyway. Very, very disappointing.

As soon as you step into this place you'll notice there is something authentic Mexican going on: calacas on the shelves and Mexican movies on the tv. By peeking into the kitchen over the counter you'll notice there are some huge pots on the stove: this where the magic happens. <br/>The menu is complete with all the well known Mexican staples. We had the guacamole to share which came served in a huge mortar with some salsa and it was sublime...soon after we had to go back asking for more tortilla chips to scoop up every little piece of tomato and onions. I had the tacos with veggies (vegan options are available throughout the menu)and the soft tacos were so soft and yummy. The place was very rich with salsa, beans and rice as a side dish. The rest of the party had burritos, which were very well balanced in flavours and textures and the tortilla is worth a special applause. The menu has a wide choice of beers and Mexican tequilas. Ambience is very traditional and simple.

I am Mexican and I had lunch there last week, And I could have sworn that my grandmother made, was like I was at home. Everything just perfect and Fernando I found to be very helpful, we even spoke in Spanish, I will return, just great.

Came here for lunch yesterday and had 2 tacos with fillet steak and salad. The steak was cooked beautifully. The staff were friendly and polite. The decor of the place was very mexican, in that it was old-fashioned. I also had one of their speciality drinks, the mango latin fusion splash. This drink was awesome, it tasted so good and provided a different experience. I highly recommend this place to all.

Good mexican!. I lived in Southern California for many years and miss the mexican food there. This place hits the spot. Good fresh mexican food. I loved it and will be back. It's hard to find good Mexican food in Sydney, but this restaurant is very good.

Warning charges for extras they don't supply. Went in there today and ordered 2 buritos and was charged extra for guacomole and chilli on the side Which is fine but guess what the order was made incorrectly and we didn't receive what we paid for. Called them up and the guy on the phone couldn't care less. I paid for it but didn't get it. The word thief comes to mind. will avoid this place from now on

What use to be a California Burrito Company store has now turned into the Mexican burrito cantina. Located on the main drag that is Crown Street, once you step inside, you actually get the feel like you're in a Mexican cantina.

I got this message from Burrito Cantina "It seem like you haven ́t been in Mexico, we only use real authentic mexican cheese and we import it. Sorry if you didnt like the authentic flavour"<br/>Well, still can't forget those 3 amazing weeks travelling Mexico in 2008, no mentioning I had a Mexican boyfriend for over a year... Please, you just need to change the cheese you use, that's all

This place is really good! I'm from Mexico, I just arrived and I missed already the mexican food until I discovered this restaurant!! The enchiladas are the traditional, the soft tacos are the best!!! And the atmosphere it's amaizing I feel like actually I'm at home! Love the food and the people there. There's a mexican singer that sings like Alejandro Fernàdez IT'S AWESOME!!!!

Terrible. I went in to get some nachos to takeaway. It cost me $21. Waited 20mins and the food was just awful. Seriously salty to the point where it wasn't edible. And the chips were stale and chewy. Unfortunately this isn't the first time this has happened there. I won't be returning...

Best Burrito In Town. HOLA AMIGO! I LOVE this place. True mexican food. The best burrito you can grab in the area.

Gongguys. Had a fantastic night on Saturday 24 May. The atmosphere and music is fantastic, food brilliant and the service out of this world. Thanks for a wonderful night.

Best authentic Mexican you could find in a relaxed setting. Nice little ethnic Mexican touches add a festive air to the decor which is breezy and begs to be enjoyed with a Corona in hand while flipping thru the paper. Gets quiet after the lunch crowd leaves, so had the place to myself, with a few walk-ins doing take-aways. Got to chat with the owner, a real Mexican! And a very pleasant, friendly chap at that. You can tell when someone is proud of their culinary heritage and he really deserves to be. The crispy tacos with minced beef filling were so excellent i crave them regularly. Love how these come with a side of beans and Mexican spiced rice. Flavour in every bite!!! Yum. I was surprised when the owner popped over to my table with a little complimentary sampler plate of their homemade signature shredded roast pork (which diners can usually have served in a taco or burrito..) and a few crispy nacho chips to try. Can't wait to go back and have that next time for sure! The hot sauce and halapenos on the table are a bonus for spice lovers and add a sensational tang to an already beautifully put together meal. Food with soul that rocks your tastebuds.

Competent burrito. Receipt was still calling this place the California Burrito Co. Seems to be family run - they looked like they could be Mexican. Pretty small menu so ordered the standard beef burrito with guacamole as $2 extra. Burrito when it eventually came out tasted pretty good and the guacamole was there although not a huge amount. Real hole in the wall place but small menu but food ok.

Used to be affordable, good traditional Mexican food. Prices have been changed. $20 for a burrito is ludicrous. Lost my business. Good selection of Mexican beer though!<br/><br/><br/>-----20 Apr, 2014-----<br/><br/>Great burritos! Gone back many times. Good selection of Mexican beer too.
