Review The Fine Food Store Coffee Bar - Sydney

I didn't try the coffee so can't comment about it but I got poached eggs on toast, it was well presented the eggs where properly poached but some olive oil or something to get some more moisture than the eggs wouldn't have hurted.

When the blood levels in my caffeine system are getting too high, I trust FFS to fix me up.

Coffee is a bit too milky.

It was too delicious and worth trying ! Love strawberry sandoitchi and prawn sandoitchi! But the service was not good enough, the restaurant should improve the service quality.

Horrible experience!!!!
We waited for almost 40 mnts in the queue and walked off without our food.
A lady sitting down on a table playing with her phone not ordering anything. After i asked why there is a 3 sits table and only one lady sitting down playing with her phone without any orders? one of the waitresses responded that she’s still waiting for her friend.
Knowing there are a few people lining outside the door and my 3 year old daughter kept yelling “i’m hungry im hungry” made me think to conclude is very bad poor service how they treat customers.
Such a tiny restaurant and they SHOULD NOT let someone sit on the table without order any foods and waiting around for friends to come for more than half an hour. They could have let the next people in line to dine-in.
they never come to us acknowledging of the waiting line. We could have ordered and take away.
Very famous place. We arrived at 11 and waited for about 15 min. Ordered the signature egg sando (with truffle) pork cutlet sando and the limited strawberry cream sando. The thick cut white bread was sooo soft and went so well with omelette donkatsu even sweet fresh cream. They indeed deserve their reputation!

Love this place, their Sandy’s are brilliant, well priced and deliver big on flavor. If you’re in the hood do yourself a favor and get in

The pork katsu sando had great pork and a lot of cabbage and sauce and stuff. Like similar sandwiches, there’s less bread than filling and it gets messy but it was a great sandwich and cheaper than any other Japanese-inspired sandwich that I’ve had. Plus good rich creamy coffee and good service.

I always love Japanese concept cafe like this, sando is Japanese style sandwich usually it consist of any katsu with some salad and Japanese mayo like kewpie that has creamy umami flavour and not really strong taste. They have lunch package include fresh juice with price range $15-$18 which was good. I had pork katsu sando and watermelon orange and ginger juice. My sando was good, pork katsu was juicy inside and crunchy outside and well-seasoned too, the juice was refreshing. My hubby got chicken teriyaki bowl with brown rice and Japanese style salad (seaweed, bamboo shoots, carrot and edamame) with banana orange juice. He likes it! My hubby is very picky towards food especially Asian food, so if he approves means the food was good. He said it’s healthy delicious food, light but very fulfilling. Next time we’ll manage to try another food.

Small sandwich and poke shop which has friendly customer service. The prices are quite affordable and the lunch special is now $15 for a sandwich and juice.

Pork Katsu Sandwich: 👌The pork was moist and tender. I liked the carrot, cabbage and how the mayo wasn't too over powering so you could still taste the flavour of pork.

Miso eggplant & spicy carrot relish sandwich:👌 Yum! The spicy relish was not too spicy and accompanied the eggplant well!

Mixed mushroom toastie: 😐 Honestly not sure if the sandwich had all the mushrooms listed on the menu. It was nice but after eating the miso eggplant sandwich, it seemed to lack flavour.

I definitely want to come back to try their poke bowls!
Was doing an art course at NAS this week and their café is under renovation so have had to eat out each day.
This place intrigued me because i wanted to see what a ham and cheese croissant japanese style would taste like.
It was pretty good but took a long time to prepare.
The total cost was $8 and the filling consisted of ham, cheese, tomato, seaweed (like a sheet from a sushi roll) and some japanese mayonnaise so was quite filling.
Service wasn't too bad and would probably visit again.

What can I say? Still dreaming about the Eggplant Miso sandwich I was served. Never had anything like it before! I dream of my next visit to Sydney so I can try something else on the menu. So many choices, so little stomach space ;)
Any chance you can expand to Sunshine Coast? We need you!

I would say this place is a boutique and luxuries sandwich shop.
Sandwich starting price at $10 and juice started at $6.
They do have lunch special, combo sandwich and juice of your choose, $14.5.
I choose the Chicken Katsu Bahn Mi... this dish blew me away! The spicy tonkatsu sauce is awesome balanced with pickle carrots, daikon, cucumber, and kimchi. Also there is a nori sheet for the umami flavour.
This sando served on crunchy Vietnamese bread roll, and open presentation.
The presentation was above and beyond normal sandwiches shop!
For the juice I had, watermelon, ginger and orange.
My fave sandwich shop at the moment!

This is the cutest little place, very funky with delish sandos and salad bowls, wow try the eggplant and miso sando! Great coffee in artisan cups, and a nice Darlo view from the window seats inside. Full marks!

OMG Most Delish Banh Mi going in Sydney. I have been to just about every Banh Mi spot in Syd.. and this is certainly luxe version and more yummy than any other. The space is cute and small, and well worth the wait for food. Also... coffee is Single O and realllllly good, too drinkable its dangerous.

Such a great spot! Great coffee, healthy Asian style salad bowls and friendly staff! Great place to sit and people watch. Has become my go to coffee shop

The Japanese inspired menu is looking good here. Where else in Darlinghurst can you get Eggs & Avo with a choice of nahm jim, dashi white soy, soy mirin ginger or soy sesame black vinegar + pickled chilli. Have visited twice and had a very enjoyable Cappuccino using Single O Paradox coffee with my Bacon & Egg Roll deal of $9.50. Came in a lovely cup as well. Bacon & Egg Roll was good with bacon, two free range fried eggs, cabbage, Japanese BBQ mayo on ciabatta. Tasty combo and the cabbage works for crunch and lighter balance plus there's lots of bacon for the win. Ciabatta is quite filling so would love it even more in a light and softer milk bun perhaps. For those into cakes I'd highly recommend the Semolina & Orange Blossom Cake ($5.50) by Brickfields. It's nut free, yummy, moist with a nice icing. Avoid sharing. The Blueberry Muffin ($4) was full of fruit although it mostly settled to the bottom so structurally fell apart too much when trying to eat with any gracefulness. Barista was super friendly and there's some seating inside to take advantage of a bit of people watching at the main intersection.
