Very nice ambiance, cute setting and theme. Warm and welcoming. It was busy when I went, but staff were still lovely despite the stress. The best strawberry shortbread and pistachio cake. Coffee was average, but loved their promotion of reusable coffee cups. Taking more friends to this place in the future.

These tasty bread-like, pastry-like spiral treats are certainly popular across Sydney. They do a roaring trade, especially at night when the munchies hit. These are Hungarian in origin, but for us they're reminiscent of the trdelniks we had in Prague. In reality they are extremely similar so it's understandable.
Lovely cafe (I've so far visited two locations and the food, drinks and environment were similar). It's nice to have a couple desserts to taste so you have an idea what you'll be getting. The coffee and tea are good, the vibe inside is sweet, and I highly recommend the sour cherry and poppy seed cake, tasty and not too sweet.
These are actually pretty good! The almonds was probably my least favourite as they were a bit dry! Caramelised nuts and Nutella were my favourite. Pistachios was ok! Definitely worth a try! Its best when they are fresh! And they are very addictive! Reasonably priced! The place also offers a good drink menu and other food specials!
Love the cakes from this small chain store with 4 outlets scattered throughout Sydney. This one is close by Kings Cross Station. A few table and chairs outside, the majority of the seating is indoors. Apart from the cakes they have the kurtosh (chimney cake) as well as hot and cold beverages on offer. I do enjoy the pay by weight concept as you can decide how much to indulge in without the obligation of a set size. The only problem may be you might indulge too much.
The service here was very friendly. I got a few pieces of cake to takeaway including Hazelnut Truffle Slab, Strawberry Pistachio Sponge, and Espresso Butter Almond Chocolate Roulade. The hazelnut slab and espresso butter roulade are my favourites. Love the flavours and textures in both. I decided to give the sponge a try. It was nice but not as good as the first two. I also had time for a coffee so got a Mocha to have in. It was well made and nice coffee art on top. Enjoyed my brew!
Love this place! Love the concept of how they serve their cakes by the gram so you can try a bit of everything! They have a massive range of cakes
I really loved kurtosh! Such a different dessert to have after dinner, and so so delicious. The bread dessert itself is quite substantial, so I always have enough to pack home. There's a great selection of baked treats on display as well, and plenty of gluten free and vegan options too. Coffee here is very good too! Service is friendly but can take some time. Kurtosh is definitely one of my favourite places to grab dessert to go for my family at home :)
Heard of these chimney bread from a friend! Kurtosh was on my to-do list for my brief work stint in Sydney!
What can I say! Lovely soft bread! I got the pistachio and almond ones, both delish! They were sweet, but lovely with a cup of coffee!
Can't wait to go back again and try a few more goodies from here!
Kurtosh is a definite winner. I myself not being a massive sweet tooth can appreciate the effort and craftsmanship that goes into these desserts. Pictured below: baked raspberry cheesecake, caramel slab(?) and a white chocolate roulade (all $10). Out of the selection, I enjoyed the cheesecake the most, it had a great texture and a light raspberry flavour that balanced well with the flavour of cheese. The variety here is outstanding and priced reasonably. You can really find something for every occassion whether that be for a quick pick-me-up or celebrating a special occasion.
Is just sensational. I can’t come to this place to often. Is so easy to get fat. Is great for sitting for desert or afternoon tea arvo. Impossible to get bored. All sort of things to choose. Is not really that pricey. But yes around Darlinghurst road and all that area. Nothing beats this place. Yummy pastry big tummy. As an alternative point of reference is a great place to cheer u up. No sad faces after eating here, perhaps regrets yes. Mirror regret next morning
Some of the most amazing deserts you will ever have. This place is definately worth the visit. Its easy to try a little of each as they are sold by weight. My only gripe is the weird take away coffee cups, large=reg and reg=small. Wont keep me away though.
Nice place. Friendly staff, decent coffee (not super good for my taste), delicious traditional pastry. Overall good place for a coffee and sweet treat.
Fantastic cakes 🍰 at a great price well worth the trip if you have a sweet tooth. And amazing iced chocolate.
They have real kürtősh here. Cakes are amazing too! The one with strawberry in the picture is 10dollers
This place is great!! The decor is interesting, rustic style. The staff are lovely. Food is excellent and it has good coffee. You buy cake by weight so you can get as little or as much as you like. The savoury food - mostly vegetarian pastries - are fresh and delicious. One of my favourite places to eat
Be careful here. It’s very easy to over-order and that will end badly. Great desserts, pastries, coffee, everything.
Friendly staff, quick service, and overall a pleasant place to hang out. Outdoor seating is comfortable, but you sometimes have to put up with the odd undesirable, but it’s not more likely to happen here than anywhere else.
If you’re looking for a cafe to try, you can’t go wrong with Kurtosh.
Great selections of cakes, pastries and beverages.
Didn't like the coffee- but like all places it depends on the barista who is on!
Cakes are fantastic but pretty expensive as they go by weight and $$ can add up pretty fast when you decide to get 'a little piece of lots of things'.
I go back again and again and it is my go to for some entertaining treats.
