I wasn’t aware the bathrooms were communal and shared with the other guests but that is fine. What is not fine is a MALE bar staff following me upstairs and stand at the door of the bathroom stall of which I was using and then continued to ask me which room I was staying in. I questioned him as to why he wanted to know and he kept saying to tell him the room I was staying in as he needed to know and that he was suspicious of me. I visibly had keys but that wasn’t enough he made me point which room I was in. He said ok no worries just we have people come up here that aren’t allowed which I understand but standing in the bathroom to wait for me then question me was not the right way to go about things. When he left to go downstairs I went to my room and he had a peek inside. I was up all night feeling unsafe. I was booked in to stay another night but changed my flight and checked out early. I requested a refund for the night I wasn’t going to stay and was granted by the manager the next morning who said she would speak to the employee. I appreciate the manager understanding how I felt but I feel the need to warn others especially females travelling alone.

Decent enough budget accommodation. Room was a good size, bed was alright. Couldn't get the tv going. Importantly, there was no hot water, or at least not after ~10mins running the hot tap as instructed. It you can deal with a cold shower then this shouldn't be an issue for you. It's pretty well located, on the positive side.

Noisy and smokey inside. Dirty on the outside with old men and tradies slumped over cigarettes. Then that smell pushes back into the main bar. If you don't like cigarette smoke I recommend avoid.

This place was very hard to enter as door half open. Had to go in to bar to ask for assistance to check in not ideal. Issues where was covid safe policy in place no hand sanitiser available no masks if you need one. Regards to room Blind broken, broken basin tap, very cold room found heater in cupboard but on turning it on a strong burning smell so turned it off and froze. Could not find kettle found in cupboard when leaving. Tv had a clicking noise on and off, no lamp to see with at night, fridge not turned on when we arrived, very noise not a great night sleep due to noise and feeling very cold bedding lacking for keeping guests warm in such a lovely old building. Had a shared bathroom fine but no handbasin to wash hands after using the toilet. Hand sanitiser should be there and available during covid times. Back to room had a microwave but no cutlery or plates if you choose to eat in your room. Coffee ect but no milk. If you don't provide milk why do the rest. First thing a guest needs is a hot drink on arrival been told to go and buy own milk how rude not a acceptable practice. Can not say we will be back as staff need a attitude check and facilities need a little work to make a guests stay safe and welcoming.

Great old pub. In the middle of renovations, but a good beer selection and a nice atmosphere

Convivial atmosphere. Good for gathering of small groups. Attentive cheerful and helpful staff.

It's okay for the price. Extremely loud throughout the night with traffic and drunk people on the street. The beds were decently comfy. Opened the blinds to see the view and the windows were so dirty. Also we were staying on the 4th floor and it smelled very strongly of something... Old building and incense? The staff were friendly and for $85 a night it was all we needed.

If you’re a man (not being sexist – 95% of the clientele in this restaurant were male) who believes that salad is a four letter word and that a meal isn’t a meal unless it once walked around mooing; this is the restaurant. Possibly the most meat-heavy menu I have ever seen with (out of about 12 main options) one token vegetarian offering and one piece of fish. I plumped for the veal schnitzel which was probably the lightest thing on the menu – although it still sat heavily on me for the rest of the day. It was ok but $28 was hardly great value.

Veni. Vidi vici. Femme fatale. Totally recommend the Fairmont for a relaxed or business lunch. Though it is well known for the best steaks in town , the menu also offers a variety of well executed and delicious dishes. The service is friendly and with abundant smiles. <br/>
