Review Iku Wholefood Restaurant - Sydney

You get a choice on whether you want to eat-in or take-away, with the eat-in area being quite spacious so there's no need to fight for space with a nice bowl of vegetarian laksa or a macro burger. As a franchise, you can't really expect top-of-the-line food, but the vegetarian laksa I had was actually quite as good as authentic Asian-style laksas that I've had in the past but definitely a new experience as a new vegetarian. We would definitely re-visit, if not this one then at one of the other Ikus depending on where we are. I would love to try out their version of a sushi roll.

If you are in a mood for a healthy little snack this is a good option in Oxford st.
They have little treats that are quite yummy - try rice balls or rice wraps or healthy cake pieces. They are little pricey (almost $5 for one rice paper roll) but you can really taste the healthily made quality and great for Celiac people as most of their food is gluten free. On a cold day, I love having a Laksa here, unlike other Asian Laksa their Laksa seem a lot lighter and healthier - you can eat the whole broth.
Their serving potion is small but it is pretty good. Salad is also great - I love ordering mixed salad with extra dressings - Yum!

As a pescatarian, my food options are limited. But I love coming here to get food after yoga, this place has such great options. The lasagne had probably got to be one of my favourite dishes.

Working close to Oxford Street and Surry Hills means there are lots of great cafes but I really am a healthy eater and don't like eating meat and bread every day so Iku is perfect for the healthy vegan lunch. Summer I have the small salad and rice ball and in winter the casseroles are warming and filling.

Open until 8.30pm?. Really would have loved to have dinner here at 7pm, but it was already closed. Funnily enough, on the window next to the entrance is a sign that says it's open until 8pm. Maybe change the hours of business to reflect the times you actually are open?

Such a wonderful place. Refreshing change for seekers of a GF meal for a decent price and superb quality.

Tasty/healthy food. I enjoyed a cup of organic coffee, a bowl of soup and a rice ball. The service was friendly. I like that the seating area is spacious. My only complaint is that I wish they used pure olive oil vs sunflower oil or a mixture of both in their meal preparation. I am used to health food restaurants/bakers/stores using olive oil but it seems that in Sydney more use sunflower oil. I realize sunflower oil is cheaper but I feel olive oil is much "healthier".

Great for vegetarians!. This Iku is different from other branches since it occupies a large space with roomy seating. The menu offers the same options as other branches which is extensive and spans a range of cuisines including such influences as Indian, Vietnamese and Thai. Legumes and veges never tasted so good!

Great wholesome food, but fairly exy for the portion sizes.
