I went here on a Saturday night for dinner and drinks with friends. I had the chicken schnitzel with chips and gravy. The chicken was well cooked and juicy. Chips were tasty and well salted. I also enjoyed the gravy but could have had more ($2 extra). I would visit this place again as there was a vast selection of food on the menu and boutique brewery beers on offer.
We went here after seeing a picture on instagram that they had slayer beer literally a day after the picture was posted but were super disappointed that they had none when we got there.
They didn't remember having the beer even though the picture was shown.
Anyway, the service was good and we were happy enough to try something else so 4 out of 5 is good enough to give to these guys.

In a nice location and the prices were pretty fair.
Quite a noisy bar but easily some of the best pub good in Sydney. They have a great chicken and sides menu with succulent roast or pulled chicken with a range of sides including an amazing cauliflower salad, Brussel sprouts with pancetta and truffled Mac n cheese. Yum! V well priced and delish. Would recommend.
Good quality food, but also quite expensive. Some burgers cost upwards of $25 for instance.
Stick to the weekday specials and your wallet will be better for it.
Chicken and Sons Surry Hills is a Sydney institution of chicken and burgers. Chef Adam is truly a Sydney Chef/ Burger personality and his fine dining background adds a level of nuance that elevates the venues from the norm. If you live in Surry Hills or don’t mind some travel hit them up for the roast dinner on a Sunday and if you like decent burgs then get to any of their locations stat! Tell them JK sent you so they can say “who the f**k is JK?”

During one of the hot summer days, MW seemed really hungry and eager to check out a new burger joint. I suggested Chicken and Sons in Surry Hills. The White Horse Pub hosts the venue for Chicken and Sons. Chicken and Sons also has locations in Chatswood and Leichardt. . MW and I arrive promptly at 12pm and it looks like we're the first at The White Horse. It's too early for me to drink booze so I opt for a cola and Matt goes for a beer. ...The burger wasn’t cheap – well north of $20, but realistically it was at least 2 if not three reasonably sized burgers in one. It was pretty difficult to actually take the first bite – but being the professional that I am, I gave it a red hot crack and almost dislocated my jaw – first up you notice the Two buttermilk, double fried chicken fillets, crunchy and yet still amazingly tender and juicy, with just a hint of some spice. This burger is all about the chicken...

One of the best burgers in Surry Hills! We had a beef brisket and spicy chicken, both were almost perfect! Chips don't come with the burger (feel like that's almost blasphemy), honestly the only downside. Will be back and back and back.
Amazing Sunday roast! I would definitely recommend the food here! So good. I think it's just changed owners as it didn't used to be this good!
2nd visit ; Hit and Miss but the hits are very good. Salmon main was great. Chicken burger great. Beef burger not so good. Roast Carrot side was very good. Beans,chorizo,brisket burnt ends side was amazing, Sadly the smoked chicken was average .....no smokey taste at all...pretty sure it was just a plain maryland baked in the oven with no spices or seasoning - I make better at home - a real shame
1st visit : Friendly as staff....always a must at a pub. Girlfriends chicken burger was amazing....she eats chicken burgers all over n this is her all time favorite. Sons quarter chicken n chips were good too. I got the brisket n side of lentil dish . lentils were quite plain healthy flavour....I liked them though. Brisket was not as soft as expected....nice layer if yummy fat and great sauce but not really smoked bbq flavours.
Came in Happy Hour before the swans game and it exceeded my expectations by alot. Would highly recommend, $1 wings on a Friday and $6 happy hour drinks. The food was so good and the Parmi was unreal. decent atmosphere with good music. Excellent staff and bar service.
Really don’t know why more pubs don’t do Veggie Parmies. These guys do and they nail it every time. Chuck in one of the best tap lists in Surry Hills, a great outdoor area upstairs and loud rock playing all day and you’ve got yourself a crackin pub

Absolute atmosphere plus friendly staff and patrons definately on my books for an creative game of pool or 2 and an exquisite jug of beer
Great pub. Simply one of the best place you could visit in surry hills. Great selection of craft beers, cheap food deals (i went on monday - 50 cent wings and it was quite unique).
