The black garlic tonkotsu ramen (4.5/5) was very delicious! Portion was generous and very flavoursome but not over powering/oily/thick. Definitely would come back for it!
My friend had the pork Shoyu (3/5) which on the first few bites were nice but began to be overwhelming salty.
Gyoza was standard, nothing too special, but quite pricey for a small portion (3/5)
The service was lacking. We were greeted at the entrance by a very rude and dismissive staff.
The seating area is also very limited, where the four of us were placed on the benches making it very difficult for a conversation.
One of the best ramen spots in Sydney!
Here we have the Pork Tonkotsu ramen with chilli 🌶 & black garlic 🧄 I highly recommend ordering with an extra of miso bomb to really elevate the broth, because it was DIVINE! 🤩🤤 Pork chashu was tender and completed the meal with side order of delicious seared Pork Gyozas 🥟 and you’ve got yourself a winner.
Truly a perfect, cozy meal for that rainy cold day.
With the cold weather creeping up on us in Sydney, ramen is the perfect winter warmer! It literally makes you feel like this emoji: 🥰. With that being said! Located in Redfern is Rara Ramen, after seeing this particular place plastered all over my Instagram feed I had to check it out 👀
Pictured is their:
• Tonkatsu ramen - this pork-based broth all I can say is WOW, it was "milky with a silky texture" which was as it is described 🌟 The Chashu pork was tender and the noodles were perfectly cooked 👏🏼
• Pork Gyoza - a classic Japanese side dish that is one of my faves. This was the perfect soft to crispy ratio can't go wrong with ordering this 🤩
If you're ever looking for a ramen joint in Sydney... this place is it. And I hope this post has convinced you ☺️ Make sure to book in advance to avoid missing out on their delicious ramen and other foodies 😍
nice staff, had the vegan miso ramen with extra noodles. broth was rich and smooth, noodles were chewy and went well with the soup. liked the vegetarian toppings. ordered extra noodles because i am a pig.
Another great ramen place in Sydney. Only opened in Aug 2018 - they have established themselves as a place of quality. Aside from delicious Tonkotsu broth and quality ingredients, their Black Garlic is an absolute hit! You can taste the strong garlic impact which compliments the soup!
Rating 4.0 Very long queue for Sunday lunch. It’s really not the sort of place you come to have lunch with 5 friends. So our group ended up splitting up in seating (we already waited for about 30mins & would have to wait much longer). A short list of ramen, mainly variations of the tonkotsu. I got it with the black garlic & chilli, it was fragrant and very satisfying, lots of flavours packed into that broth, but not overly salty. The beef brisket baos had good flavours too and brisket were tender and well sauced, but that made the bao bun soggy at the thin folds, and it crumbled & all the sauce & fillings just went everywhere. Aside from that & the wait it was definitely a good lunch.
Food was amazing, service was great. Will definitely be back.
Arrived early exactly on their opening hours cause the queue can be extremely long. But it’s worth it.
Amazing ramen. The broth is just glorious. Not overly thick, the right amount of fat. Just phenomenial soupy goodness. Highly recommend! Sit at the kitchen if you can so you can see the chefs at work.
This place is crazy busy but worth the wait. The broth is creamy but not fatty. The meat is so tender and yummy, even the egg and bamboo shoots are nicely cooked. The gyoza is delicious. The staff are friendly and polite. Will definitely come back
Hands down!!! BEST ramen in Sydney. The menu don't give you many choices but the quality can easily beat any other ramen places I've been too. Not only ramen noodles taste very in-house made but the ratio of base helps leaving no food waste. Karaage chicken is to die for as well. I always come here for ramen and the consistency is the key to make me come back for more. Highly recommend!! Rara is always busy so make sure you make reservations in advance.
Brotha! This is THE BEST ramen shop I’ve ever been in my whole life.
I even went there one night with a Japanese friend who confirmed my theory. These guys clearly know what they are doing.
The taste, the textures, the environment, the spot on staff specially and that distribution of decoration and music makes this place an obsidian gem in Sydney.
Always top tier ramen. The broth is fantastic all the way to the bottom. Noodles are super authentic and delicious. Always come with friends. Tables are tiny so sit at the bar
A focus on ramen, with a small short menu. Ramen is tasty and the stock is rich but not too think. Serving size is good. Price is on the steep side for ramen but quality is high. Sides are fine and a range of drinks too.
Love the ramen here, great creamy tonkotsu broth with super nicely done charcoal roasted pork! Every ingredient rxpresses its fragrance. Staff was super friendly.
Note: line up early and don't eat beforehand! Enjoy
Ra Ra Raving about this ramen (still dreaming about dat egg)… It was Radical 🫰 the vibes were great and staff too.
I will just stay, the greeter at the front wasn’t very friendly and my friend and I didn’t feel welcome coming in or leaving. She wasn’t happy at all and was pretty stern to kick us out once our time was up- but everyone has their days!
