Review Bond Cafe - Sydney

I brought a groupon to be used for breakfast. Very good value. The veg breakfast is tasty and warm, perfect for winter season. The cafe is decaf, which is also super nice, top 3 decaf cafe I had in CBD.

At the bond cafe I got eggs Benedict and a latte. Absolute pleasure to go there. The eggs were very well cooked, on a bed of delicious salmon, spinach, and sourdough toast, which didn't go soggy. The sauce was excellent and made for a pretty dish, and there was just the right amount. My latte tasted great, albeit a touch cold, but smooth and creamy, finished nicely and well presented. I thought the service was excellent, very prompt and polite. While the interior of the cafe was nice, it felt a little unwelcoming, but not something I'd turn my back on.

4.1 - Enjoyed the hand-made pasta even though they ran out of Fettucine. I went with Spaghetti cos I don't like Penne. I feel like they should have 1 more type in case they run out. (I was thinking how Vapiano has so many types). Not so sure about the minced pork(?) they put in with the Crab...Friendly staff though and it was close to work.

Nestled in the heart of martin pl. This cafe boasts very comfortable seats with cushions and good service. Had the hash with crispy eggs w hollaindaise $18. Word of advice to the chef, never overseason food. It is always better to add salt later if it doesnt suit the customer's palate. Was the egg yolk meant to be cooked through? Had to return the dish that was barely eaten and request a simple toast w poached eggs, knowing that you cant stuff up a simple egg toast. Skim cap was nice. Overall, a mediocre experience.

The place is in heart of city and near to many offices. The breakfast menu was quite good and value for money. The coffee was excellent and perfect blend and very well represented. I had sunny side up with toast and my colleague had smashed Avocado with poached eggs on sourdough .
Food 5/5
Service 5/5

I've visited Bond Cafe a few times and each time the experience has been great. The service is excellent and the food and coffee never disappoint. In my latest visit, I order the carbonara which arrived with a flower decoration. It was such a pretty touch to the dish. This will remain one of my local go to's in the CBD.

My bf and I ordered their James Bond pizza for brunch and it’s hands down one of the worst pizzas I’ve ever had. The service was also terrible as it seemed impossible to get the staffs attention although there’s only few customers around.

Came by for a coffee and a quick snack. I ordered the smashed avocado. Was an absolute delight and customer service did not disappoint. Will definitely return the next time I am around.

Lovely cafe just off Martin place offering delicious meals in a nice setting. The customer service is fast and attentive and the atmosphere feels relaxed. I highly recommend the linguine crab and the chicken salad. Definitely a great spot for a lunch date and the food comes out quickly.

Needed a pick me up in the afternoon and this was close by. There was quite a queue of people even in the afternoon. Think everyone seemed to have the same idea! The guys behind the counter were quick at handling the queue and got through everyone's order efficiently. I had an Almond Friand and a Mocha. They use Toby's Estate Coffee. Both were nice.

***edited 04APR18***

Visited here again for lunch with a workmate and service was lovely. We both the Lamb And Rosemary Broken Pie. It was slow braised lamb topped on mashed potato topped with a butter pastry. Absolutely delightful and a nice take on a deconstructed pie. Loved the flavours and very hearty.
The Next Rush
In the uptown oasis, just below the palm trees that dominate Phillip Street (South Exit from Martin Place) you'll see the signs of the NEW MENU they unveiled recently! 8 new additions to the menu for summer and not enough of us to try them all but boy the four that we had were pretty impressive. You probably already know Bond Cafe for the epic wine bar at night with its extensive range of red, white, sparkling bubbles or may have been lucky enough to sample some treats from the catering menu they have. By day – I had no idea – seats up to 126 people and has a pretty awesome menu of Modern Italian with traces of Mediterranean – very cool!

Protein, Crunch, Burst goes the CHICKEN SALAD which is a leafy compound of cos, chives, cucumber with colourful accents using horse radish and jewel-like pomegranate seeds. The Red Wine vinigarette binds it all together and is the perfect answer to a light lunch full of superfood nutrition!

PULLED PORK is the new in-thing appearing in many places right now and also Hospitality Magazine's prediction late last year as one of the biggest 2016 food trends (rolls I think they predicted). Bond serves this toasted sandwich with a picked apple slaw with the juices from the meat and fruit creating a delicious moistener and gravy with each bite – actually maybe use your knife & fork for this one – it does get messy!

Need something a bit more challenging? Then take on the 300g SCOTCH FILLET grain fed steak which is absolutely positively cooked flawlessly with charred cos lettuce, tomato, asparagus sitting on a red wine jus. Definitely one of my favorites!

The winner for me though is the LINGUINI which they do with luscious crab!!! The pasta is wider than spaghetti but not as fat as fettucine so when the flavours of crab and their dressing of chilli, tomato and olive oil come together they've struck gold here! It's breathtaking, not too heavy and a nice summer dish with a nice rocket lettuce crunch weaved through....

The service was efficient with all staff very aware of who and what was going on at each table, we were on a strict work lunch hour and there was an approximate wait time of 10-17mins from ordering which is an ideal destination for a quick lunch that's a little bit more refined!

Popular cafe suitable for business meetings and lunches. Friendly and switched on staff. Prawn and scallops skewers with fregola, peas, chives and tomato ($18) was quite a nice, light and tasty dish. Three prawns and two scallops served on skewers — would have been nice if there were three scallops though to match the prawns. I've had a decent coffee here and noticed some baked goodies to tempt.

Came to Bond for brunch and it did not disappoint. I tried the zucchini fritters with chilli smashed avocado & they were absolutely delightful. There was a perfect amount of chilli to give that little bit of a kick without overpowering the dish. Would definitely return just for the fritters.

Bond is a great CBD find with a versatile range of breakfast and lunch dishes. I had my expansion pants on today and got to try a whole bunch of their delicious food!

The French toast is every dieters nightmare, but for someone like me, it was my Bestfriend. I'd love to see more banana and strawberries draped on top. The crab linguine was my second favourite from the eating session, it had the perfect amount of chilli and the right ratio of crab to linguine. Only downer was the rocket which I have a personal vendetta against as I strongly believe it is the worst vegetable of them all.

Great ambience and fabulous music taste; you can't go wrong with MJ!

Came here for lunch mid-week and really enjoyed this place. I got the veal schnitzel with zucchini on the side and it was fantastic. They serve Lord Nelson's on tap as well which is a major plus! You don't have to spend a fortune to have a good lunch in the city anymore!
Simply Starving
I really enjoyed my experience at Bond cafe. The staff were lovely and the vibe was laid-back yet professional.

I ordered the chicken for lunch and it was cooked to perfection. The accompanying salad was delicious, I just wish there was more of it! The zucchini flowers worked fantastically as a side and were jam packed with fresh ricotta. All produce was high quality and presentation was sleek.

Highly recommend for lunch if you're ever up that end of the CBD!

Found this cafe through zomato and it's definitely not your average cafe. They serve quality food for breakfast and lunch..
Starting with the entrees, my favourite was the king prawns with green apple and aioli, the thinly sliced apple and prawn went so well together! I definitely will be having this the next time i return. The lamb skewers were a little chewy but nonetheless was delicious with the watercress and orange.
Finally for mains, the scotch fillet, cooked perfectly, though i wish they had more of the puree on the plate cause it was so tasty! The crispy silverbeet/kale leaves were just the best!
The only criticism i have about this place is that the service was kind of slow, though it may have simply been because they were hosting two christmas functions while i was there.

Very popular with the corporate crowd. The coffee is quite good and they have a great selection of treats to help combat the two o' clock slumps.

Refurbished and resurrected. Bond cafe has recently undergone a full fit out and brought in a great chef-Hayden.
The food is designed to share and the menu is varied and interesting.
Carmela the proprietress runs the floor efficiently and if you want a quick meal -no problem. If you want to linger- just as good.
On the last visit I sampled Arrancini ,Chermoula prawns, and Duck and Shitake pie.
All were excellent and washed down with a glass of Italian Pinot Grigio and a glass of the beautiful Coates Syrah- from the interesting, reasonably priced wine list.
If you have not been there for a while it is time to go back.
If you are looking for great food, well presented and good value this is the place for you.
