Good food! Crab and chicken is good! The highlight is beef, really soft and tender!

The food was good i liked it alots.. we got to order of both restaurants menus as the own owns both My one complaint is on one menu the drinks are cheaper then the other but you get charged the higher price. The staff is kind. Nice . And come check on the table during service to make you feel at ease For 3 people we got 2 starters 3 meals a side and 2 drinks about $110

Highly recommended Malaysian restaurant! Visited here a little while ago with family in a group of four using a voucher. There was so much food we all waddled home like penguins when we finished up. We could not decide between the pineapple or soft shell crab fried rice so we went for both and they were equally superb. The fresh drinks were really nice and helped with the nice spicy dishes we ordered. The beans were great, satay tender and delicious, and the roti were to die for. We are already planning to return with others as I know my niece will devour a plate of the beans by herself.

We checked all the food places in the centre and came back here because it smelt really good. Definitely not disappointed. Shared the Char Koay Teow and Singapore curry fried noodles, extremely happy ,awesome meal especially for the price( $12.80 lunch special). Left feeling very full.

Very friendly and kind staffs, we ordered Nasi Lemak, Penang laksa and Hainan Chicken Rice. We waited a while but the food was definitely worth it for the wait and the price. Would definitely come back again.

Ate dinner with the family here because of a Scoopon voucher. The food was quite good. Enjoyed all the dishes we selected but we had to wait 30 mins for the dessert (Ais Kacang). I think they must've forgotten to action the order. Overall, the experience was enjoyable. The soft shell crab was made really well, the coconut rice was excellent, and the roti was soft and fluffy on the inside but crispy on the outside. If we ever want Malaysian whilst at Harbourside, we will definitely come back.

The service was deplorable, apart from having to wait over an hour for a meal that we had to cook two items were left off the order and the manager said it's too hard to work out a refund . The bbq lunch special was good for $28 but the wagyu was overpriced and not really good @ $88 for 3 pieces. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible but the restroom is downstairs near the food court. Despite the criticism this place has potential. We will visit again to try something different on the menu. Revisited and ate in the other part of the restaurant. The meal was delicious and the staff very friendly and helpful. A 4 star award for the second visit.

Malaysian food that is quite authentic but a little on the pricey side. Char Kway Teow was excellent and the rotis were fluffy. I didn't get to try the chicken rice because my kids loved it so much. Will definitely come back again since it's so conveniently located in Darling Harbour. Not great for large groups because they're mostly small tables. They just opened not too long ago so everything still looks new, clean and decor looks Malaysian.

I know my Malaysian food - and that was CERTAINLY NOT char kwoy teow! Instead I was served a generic oily noodle dish that was nothing like the many other char kwoy teows I’ve had elsewhere. I won’t go back, I do not recommend.

Stay away!! This is not the real Mamaks! The food took a long time to come out. Our curry puffs were cold inside and burnt outside, as if food was frozen.
The satay chicken were “sold out” and that’s what we came there for. The sauce for roti canai was so minimal we could hardly taste it. The waiters don’t understand English I recommended this place to my cousins and after this experience never again.

Sad to say they have very incompetent staff and mediocre food. One of the staff missed out one dish we ordered and after more than 45 minutes wait and numerous follow up, we asked to cancel it only to be faced by a senior staff insisting that we cannot cancel it because the dish has already been prepared. And even threatened to call security because we no longer want it. Clearly, this staff member has serious attitude problem and can’t admit to their mistakes. Disgusting service.

I have been here in the past and loved the chicken curry. However this time, things have changed. We ordered the malaysian fried chicken. This was okay. The Chicken was soft but the covering on the chicken didn't have too much flavour and the no salt into the chicken. I recently had fried chicken at Malaysia and at Old town at Hong Kong, hence may have changed my flavour palate.
The egg.roti again, just average and disappointing to be honest. The Chicken Satay was atrocious. No flavour, looked pale and yellow, not properly char grilled. The sauce was weak. We had to send it back and they re did it but still not good. I wouldn't think I'd like to visit again and it's near cos I had good experiences from before.

Service was poor and slow. You serve the fried chicken in a basket and then don't give plates or any sauce.

This place offers great food at large portions. We ordered the crispy prawn noodles, fried tofu, chicken rendang and rice and the beef laksa. The food portion is quite large and the food is full of flavour. However prices are slightly expensive for Malaysian food and it’s quite oily.

We read good reviews online about Mamak's and decided to give it a try before we head back to Melbourne.

The order chit on our table stated that we placed order at 6.03pm. I ordered a Chat Kuay Teow and I specifically requested mine to be spicy. My partner ordered the Ayam Bakar and a serve of jasmine rice.

His order came after about 20 minutes. I waited a other 5 minutes and my food is not here yet. I asked the waitress who said she will check but after checking she didn't even come and update me or assure me that my food is coming. 35mins after ordering my food finally came. The waitress didn't even apologize for the delay.

My Char Kuay Teow was not spicy as I have requested. It was too salty and no wok hei.

The food is overpriced. It costs $18.90 for the Ayam Bakar and $2.50 for the jasmine rice. The chicken portion was small and came with 3 pathetic slices of cucumbers. For that price I would expect at least some vegetables like Bok Choy or at least include the jasmine rice for free.

I paid $21 for a plate of Char Kuay Teow which tasted average.

Overall service was below average for the long wait I had for my food. Food quality was average. Ambience was good.

Would I come back the next time I'm in Sydney? I'm afraid not.

Been wanting to come here for a while now and finally had a chance yesterday to come here with my friend and his family who were visiting us from interstate.

Food: For entre' we had the roti telur with egg and roti telur with bawang, and not only they were great, they were also reasonably priced. For mains, I had the chicken with rice, can't remember what it was called, but that was also good.

Service: I was very dis-appointed with the service, the girls that served us, non of them wanted to be there, no smile, abrupt and one of the kid's food came really late, we were almost finish with our mains when it finally arrive at our table, and every-time we asked one of the waitress if it was still coming, they would just say it's done, it's coming soon, but it didn't. After a few minutes the kids were getting restless so we asked if we could just cancel it, one of the girls said, "it's coming now" and again we waited another 3 minutes after that. when it finally arrived, the waitress just placed the plate on the table, no apology and no explanation in fact she didn't even look at us. The restaurant wasn't that busy, especially with 3 waitress working.
Also, at the start we had to ask for water a couple of times, and it wasn't until one of us got up to try to fetch it ourselves, when they gave us a bottle of water on our table
Overall, food was good and reasonably priced.. but not sure if I would come back I know my friends said they wouldn't eat there again.

Visited the place for dinner with colleagues with one of them being a vegetarian. There were a lot of options to choose from. The service was quick and food was nice.We tried their roti kaya which was the winner. The prawn pineapple fried rice was also good.Had bean and tofu salad with peanut sauce, fried tofu and grilled chicken.

Visited again and tried their crab fried rice, roti hawall, fried chicken and snakebeans. This time was left a bit disappointed with their fried chicken as the meat wasn’t fresh.

Wish there are below 1 ratings! Was halfway through my teh tarik when I saw a cockroach floating and poking through the ice - got my refund but man, I didn't even want it. They were just trying to get rid of me as quick as possible and didn't even bother to offer a proper apology.

Walked past this place during lunch and saw some lunch specials which seemed pretty worthwhile. I ordered the nasi lemak with beef rendang for takeaway. The food was ok, their nasi lemak is definitely much better than their neighbouring competitor nur Muhammad - but it wasn’t as aromatic as I’d like and had too much coconut milk. Meat was very tender though which I’ll give them credit for. The sambal was ok, had too many peanuts inside it for my liking. Overall, an ok meal for lunch but I would likely not come here for dinner servings.

Place is way overpriced for the quality of food and the staff members were all over the place. Their lack of knowledge on basic allergenic food and the attitude displayed was horrendous. Food wise I ordered char kwey tew and roti canai. The roti was incredibly bland and small, curries were again bland and extremely watery, definitely not worth the $8. Noodles were on the other hand too salty with a lack of flavour, however, the prawns were fresh and cooked beautifully. Honestly the pricing for this place is just plain ridiculous. Definitely would not recommend until they change and finally do Malaysian cuisine justice.

Overpriced for Malaysian food and the quality isn’t that good. The chicken satay was very tough and was served with watered down peanut satay sauce. Their roti was fluffy but pretty small and the curries accompaniments were bland. We also got their roti kaya...or just their plain roti because there was minimal kaya present...

TERRIBLE MALAYSIAN FOOD! WAY OVERPRICED!
You definitely get better and more authentic Malaysian food in any food court for half the price here.
Churkwy tew and nasi lemak for more than $20?? Never have I come across any Malaysian restaurant in Sydney charges such outrageous price, let alone for sub-standard food. THIS RESTAURANT IS A SCAM! Save your money and go somewhere else.

Bad Malaysian food at high prices, if you are seeking a restaurant with authentic Malaysian food do not come here.
As a Malaysian, born and raised. This is an insult to Malaysian food and culture. The food here was bland and lacking flavour. If your seeking real Malaysian food. Head anywhere but Here.

Extremely difficult to phone the restaurant as they often do not answer the phone. Bought a voucher and found it very difficult to use within the voucher dates as there were very limited days as they claimed to be fully booked. The curry arrived firstly with no plates, I asked three times for plates and when they finally arrived they were dirty. Finally we got plates and then had to wait ages for the rice. This was in a half filled restaurant on a Thursday night. God help anyone who goes when they are fully booked out. Potion sizes were small and overpriced. I plan never to go back. Maybe they would be better placed in the food court than in a restaurant!! Utterly disappointed with Harbouside as I am a big fan of Mamak's in China Town!

Great food and very friendly service. Loved their Roti and Mee Goreng Prawn Noodles! Those r our favorite out of everything we ordered. They put a lot of plump prawns in it!! Their Malaysian tea/coffee drink was delicious and also a fav and I liked how they made it extra hot temp per my request. We also had the vegetarian Morning Glory plate of sautéed vegetables, deboned chicken, and lamb korma.....all were good.

Food Flavors at Darling Harbour, to my surprise, was better than the Mamak located in Chinatown. I like the Darling Harbour location more also cuz it is more open floor plan, less noisy, friendlier service, and less crowded compared to Chinatown one. But prices at Darling Harbour is slightly higher.....I think it’s worth it :-) also, the Darling Harbour has a bigger menu selection. One thing from the Darling Harbour menu that is lacking is the delicious fried chicken w/bone which is on the China Town menu.....I hope Darling Harbour adds this item to their menu one day cuz I love fried chicken w/bone.

The vibes in restaurant is on the quiet side which I found relaxing, cozy, and the decor is beautiful. There’s no waterfront view.

I will most definitely eat here again!! Yummmm!!

We were very happy with their service. Food also quite delicious. We ordered roti canai, nasi lemak, soft shell crab fried rice, soft shell crab with mango salad, fried chicken ayam berempah with extra chips and belachan morning glory (kangkong).
We enjoyed all dishes and my husband ordered the tarik and he was also happy with the tea.

I had bought a groupon voucher for this place and had gotten a random range of food. I tried the Hawaiian rotti and it was suprisingly good. It was very filling and tasted like really good pizza pockets x10 of the cheesey goodness. We got the two style fish and unfortunately was not my style. The sauce was strange tasting; sweet sour and savoury. The chicken satay was probably the best dish. I tried the gado gado (the vegetable salad bowl) and i was deeply disappointed as well. :( I think if you want to try this place, stick to the simple dishes like pineapple rice, satay skewers and rotti

Plenty of seats in this chain. Love the decor with a feature wall. All dishes were quite good. Highlight was the dessert at the end. One of the best shaven ice desserts I've ever had.

New Mamak Village next to Criniti's at Darling Harbour.
Prices are ridiculously high compared to other Malaysian franchises such as Paparich and Mamak. The Char Kwey Teow and meals are $20 each roughly. I ordered the roti with dhal and curry dips but it came with no sambal. I asked for sambal on the side and they charged me an extra $1 for it. The dhal and curry dips are horrendous. They're gloopy from too much starch, you can't see the dhal at all. It's almost like glue with mixed in curry spices. The roti however is excellent. Crispy and chewy and freshly cooked. So beware when you order this dish.
The char kwey teow was definitely lacking the smoke flavour you get from the fiery wok, and only had prawns, no fish cakes or anything mixed in. Poorly executed dish, very disappointing.
The pineapple fried rice was average, quite bland. They placed the hot rice into a very cold pineapple with its core taken out. So you can imagine hot and cold food together - not good!
Service is average.
Too pricey for poor quality and non authentic dishes, price probably due to rent.
Sorry this is a miss.
Checked out the newly opened Mamak's Village located at Darling Harbour. It was a great walk from Haymarket to the restaurant as you can see so many lights along Tumbalong Park due to Vivid. We had the fried chicken, king prawn noodles and stir fried kangkong. Tasted good but we thought the price was a bit exxy, most probably due to the location. Service was great, very friendly and prompt!

A new Mamak and this time they have opened one up in Darling Harbour, and probably because of the prime location, the prices are a little higher than their other outlets. 😬 Service was excellent, staff was friendly & polite.

Food was not bad. The sauce in Beef rendang was nice & rich, beef was fork tender, however would be nicer if the portion was bigger. The dish was relatively small when they charge for $19. 😐

I always love their Roti canai, the buttery, flaky fry bread to dip in that rich chicken curry or creamy dhal curry dipping sauce. Murtabak was excellent too, they were like the ones I had in Malaysia, very authentic. 👍🏻

The other chicken dishes were fine, at least they were not dry & over cooked. CKT wasn’t as tasty as others, colour was too light & not enough wok hei. 😗

Overall not a bad choice, but I would like to try their bbq/hot pot menu next time for something different. 😙

Options are limited so we end up ordering most of the starters. All are good but missing wow factor. Roti was good but nothing like Mamak near china town.
We always order pineapple rice but same failed to impress us as it’s bland.
