Review Soul Burger - Glebe - Sydney

Happy to find a burger joint which have all vegan šŸŒ± options in Sydney. The Beef Halal Snack is amazing; it tastes like beef. The Truffle Beef Burger was good, too. The Satay Tofu Burger is not to my taste, but is all right. I will come back next time.

Really excellent burgers. A decent size, Nicely made and not squashed to a pancake. The vegan fillings are light and tasty - not greasy. The bread is real bread and whole meal - lightly toasted. A decent amount of salad is included and the sauces are tasty too!

Not sure why Iā€™ve never posted previously about this amazing concept. I canā€™t eat dairy, so what a luxury to have be able to savour vegan cheese instead! Tonight I tried the truffle burger. Super yummy! Snuck in some sweet potato fries too. The service is really smiley and friendly too! There were delivery drivers galore turning up while I ate in, so you can stay home and order takeaway too. I would like to acknowledge the skill involved in creating such a menu which is completely plant based ! Thank you. :)

This is one of the top vegan burgers I have had during my time of trying vegan food. Even as a non-vegan I found it delicious. Definitely worth trying. I ordered a mushroom burger (pictured). Yours truly @fooderarri

Got Uber Eats, my chip pack was not full. Not happy! šŸ˜ Southern chicken burger on brioche bun amazing.

I initially wanted to go to a different restaurant but other places were closed. Stumbled across this place while I was out with a friend on a Monday evening. It has such a convenient ordering process because you can order via QR code from the table. Got a meal deal with an Italian meatball burger. Didn't realise at first it was a non-meat restaurant but I was pleasantly surprised by the non meat burger. It was around a $23 meal for the burger, chips, and drink which is what I normally pay at other burger restaurants. Plus, it's high quality vegetarian food so it was really good. Would totally recommend it.

Great plant based fast food thats about medium level health wise. i especially like the mushroom burger as its way healthier and very tasty. the place has comfortable places to sit wether it be on a bench chair or stool

Amazing flavorful meat alternative burgers to be enjoyed by everyone, not just vegans! Only ever got it delivered since the atmosphere of the place is slightly less amazing. The red fries are a must try!

I loved the 'cheese burger' I got here! Extraordinarily similar to regular beef, the 'meat' patty had great flavour and texture. The 'cheese' served as a creamy and salty addition that, blind folded I honestly don't know if I'd be able to tell the difference between that and non-vegan cheese.

The milkshake was also great, substituting cow's milk with coconut milk which I love! It was thick, creamy, satisfying and a great accompaniment to the burger.

The price was a little above average for a regular burger, but you could tell the ingredients were fresh and thoughtfully made. Would definitely come again!

Ordered a delivery and it was very quick.Tried their portobello burger and Soul B fries. The burger was delicious._The fries took me by surprise as the bacon(Vegan/mock meat) was as good as the actual thing.

I'm not a vegan, but I'm definitely open minded to a plant based diet. I had the cheese please. It is better than 90% of the burgers in Sydney. You could have fooled me into thinking it was meat and cheese. You pay more but as vegan food becomes popular, prices will go down. It's not a bad thing to eat less meat and Soul Burger provides an excellent alternative option. Highly recommended.

Pretty small dining area. The staff were nice and there's a range of food suitable for all needs. I got the mushroom burger and couldn't even finish it. The mushroom was so greasy and the burger fell apart towards the end. Their chips however were great.

I am a meat eater (please don't shoot me!) and a massive burger fan. I was vegan for 3 months and this place absolutely saved me. I am surprised that it has got so many bad and neutral reviews. I would visit this place fairly regularly and the burgers have never disappointed me. They were the closest I have had to meat burgers. I have to admit that going vegan for a while was hard and I found my food options fairly limiting and boring so coming here was always a treat. I always enjoyed the flavours put together in their burgers.Ā I love the fact that their menu is quite diverse and that they have some interesting options. Love their app as well which gives you discounts. It is however a small place and sometimes, you get an awkward table to eat at.

Came here through a recommendation from the Happy Cow app (a must have for vegans). Lunch on a Sunday was not very crowded. I ordered a Cheese Please with some help from the staff. They were friendly enough. The burger was really tasty and quite a good size. I thoroughly enjoyed myself!

Price: 3/5
Taste: 3.5/5
Service: 4/5
Decor and presentation: 3.5/5
Visits: 1

The variety of options to cater for everyoneā€™s dietary needs is really commendable. I believe they do $10 burgers sometime during Monday which would be a decent feed however for the normal price paid itā€™s quite a standard burger. The chips were very well done and well seasoned. The choice of cutlery provided is nice for people who want to eat the burger without their hands as it can get quite messy.
Candy Huang
We went on Monday where they had the 10$ burger deals. the falafel burger was pretty good, but the pulled pork one was a bit oily and slimy for my taste. We ordered the red fries as well. They were a generous portion and tasted nice, but weren't as tangy as we expected. Overall the food was okay but a bit oily for me personally.
VeganVonTeese
Great vegan options that mimic their animal based counterparts.
Friendly and quick service with sustainable packaging, crockery and cutlery in mind. Love dining here and will return!

Decided to go with the mushroom burger which left me terribly unsatisfied. The burger was saturated with oil which made the bun very soggy and couldn't finish it. The service was quite disappointing and I wouldn't recommend this place if you're on the hunt for a good burger. Chips were okay but quite dry.
Frankiieshungrytummy
This place was quite a disappointment for me.
We visited on a Sunday and the service was super slow. The line was getting longer and the girl behind the counter stood there making milkshakes while the people in the life huffed and puffed to get served.
When we finally got served, she missed one of our drink orders so again had to line up.
The burgers are super messy to eat and fall apart because they've tried to build them up so high.
Unfortunately we didn't rate the taste either.
The chips were okay but the burgers... not so great which is such a disappointment as when you're looking for a meat free option, it's really quite limiting if you don't want to opt for a salad.
AdzTheFoodie
Went here with a girlfriend for lunch. Great service and portion sizes but the flavour wasnā€™t the best unfortunately šŸ˜ž Iā€™m gluten free and keeping away from carbs so I had a naked burger, my girlfriend had the gluten free bun and it was really dense and heavy. I guess vegans love this place and would definitely recommend they go and try it!
Hungry Pea
The food is always great, I miss the Hansenā€™s Halal which I think has been taken off the menu. Tasty AF burgers and shakes. Have had a few problems with orders gone wrong, staff could be more professional.

I like to think I'm pretty open minded, but I've always been skeptical of vegetarian products dressed up as meat. There is such a range of gorgeous vegetables available, leaving endless options if you choose to avoid animal products. I tried Soul Burger in Glebe, as it had quite the following in Randwick, and in turn, had expanded. I will say, the menu is indeed huge. Every dressed-up variant of the humble burger is available, and all plant-based. I can certainly understand the appeal for some.

The bun was way too big, increasing the bun to filling ratio, losing out on flavour. I found them also to be a bit dry, worsened by the fact there is honestly so much bun. The southern fried chicken also sees the patty moist inside, crisp and golden on the outside, but I just can't get past how much bun there is. Fortunately the cheese burger is a little more redeeming, and while it looks very much like your standard cheese burger, there's not much flavour, but it's definitely more moist than the chicken. The sides are the highlight, and Kumara fries are crisp, although under-seasoned. Overall I find it a bit of a novelty really and a good spot to show your support for your plant based friends for casual catch-ups.

Delivery on Boxing Day, perhaps why it was so bad. Stale brioche buns, weird tangy sauce on the fried chicken burger. Beef Burger with bacon was inedible until I realised how much money I had paid for it.
Sad looking lettuce, tomatoes red onion ( weird for a veggie/ vegan place ?? ) Green chips ( oregano) were ok, although seemed like maybe they were refried as they were very crispy.
I was a bit disappointed with this order seeing as I thought it was quite expensive for the quality.
the chicken burger was $16.
One 'good' point was that the meat ( I threw the rest) had a very meaty texture and the bacon tasted like bacon.

If you want unreliable and shitty service go here. Used to love this place. No one knew what they were doing and orders came out wrong constantly. No gf buns. Ridiculous
Estella Kennedy
Normally love soul burger and love the variety of menu options, however tonight it was a let down, they had no more burger buns so only chips and drinks were available and the chips were disappointing :'((( normally the food is bomb tho so this won't put me off coming back ā¤ļø

As a vegan, it hurts to write this review. In a time where we should be encouraging more plant-based eating, Soul Burger does little to help this cause. On the plus side, all things wrong with this restaurant are fixable; though until they are addressed I canā€™t recommend Soul Burger to anyone.

Iā€™ve eaten at Soul Burger Glebe three times, and have noticed the same problems each visit. Iā€™ll start with the elusive Southern Fried Chicken. Does this menu item even exist? All three times Iā€™ve been to Soul Burger they have ā€˜run outā€™ of chicken. Iā€™ve been at different times of the week over the past few months and not once have they been able to manage their stock levels. Itā€™s your most popular burger - maybe order more chicken?

The service from the waitstaff is normally very friendly however tonight left a sour taste in our mouths. We ordered two burgers (they had also run out of another staple item on their menu, bacon) fries and two milkshakes. We finished our fries and burgers though didnā€™t get our milkshakes. We had been sitting at our table number 33, though when we went up to the girl behind the counter she said that the two milkshakes were under number 95. If we were given 33, how did they end up under 95? Instead of apologising, she smugly held up the docket number which showed 95. How were we meant to know there was a second number our order was under when we were only given table number 33?

We also ordered a serve of fries, which came out cold. A burger joint, where almost every customer orders fries, should be turning these over quickly. Youā€™d imagine the fries would therefore be fresh and hot. This was unfortunately not the case and further highlights the poor management of the restaurant.

Soul Burger also appears to have changed the way they make their milkshakes. The first two times I ordered a milkshake I was in heaven - they were creamy, thick and full of flavour. Though tonightā€™s milkshake tasted very different to what I was used to. It was watery, thin and not very pleasant. They had done such a good job with their original recipe though have seemed to completely compromise it upon their latest menu change.

Despite what Iā€™ve said in this review not all is doom and gloom. The burgers are incredibly tasty and taste just like actual meat. The American Cheese (no longer available) and the BBQ Bacon (even when it was missing the bacon) are both delicious. The cheese sauce that covers the Soul B Fries is really yummy too. I would also like to commend the usual waitress (who wears a bucket hat) for her great service. Itā€™s just really disappointing that Soul Burger is let down by other factors such as poor service and stock control.

Again, writing this review was not something I wanted to do. Soul Burger benefits from being one of the first to tackle the junk food vegan scene in Sydney. However as veganism grows and more restaurants enter the market I can see Soul Burger struggle to stay in business. They really need to take a look at how they manage their restaurants as I believe Soul Burger could be quite a successful franchise. Until then, I wonā€™t be back.

Cheers for no tabouli and my single ring of onion..... more like shitburger

If you hadn't told me beforehand that this was a vegan burger joint, I probably wouldn't have been able to tell. Now, don't get me wrong it's still a little different from eating actually meat patties - however the difference is subtle enough that it can fool you if you're not looking for it.

We ordered the Southern Fried Chicken burger, the American Badass burger, some chips and the Vanilla coconut shake. I loved my 'chicken' burger! So full of flavour and very crisp and just soft. The shake was nice but it mostly tasted like coconut milk.

The service was quick and friendly and the chips were nice and large. The burgers are a tad small for the price but iunno how to judge since I'm assuming vegan food takes more effort to make. If this was closer to me I'd be here all the time I think.
Claire
The crumbed mushroom burger here is excellent. Unfortunately, I'm not as fond of the burgers using fake meat products - I personally find them a bit heavy on onion and garlic.Ā
The chips are good and I'm really keen to try the sweet potato fries, but they've been out the few times I've been there.
(Edit: this was a couple of months ago when they were having their sweet potato fries shortage. Not a regular problem!)
Neena
Always love a plant-based restaurant! SoulB provides you legit vegan burgers, none of that one patty; no sauce kinda thing. The burgers are amazing but nothing really stands out for me just yet.. I'd still have to try the rest of the menu haha.

Had the American Badass recently with a chicken pattie (shortage of beef) and that was pretty great, the hash browns and onion rings made it all worth it. If you also add avocado, they add about half an avocado which is AMAZING.

Had the cheesy fries also which was okay. It was much too salty for me and the 'cheesiness' just wasn't really there. Love their wedges and milkshakes though!!

Staff are super friendly, service is usually quite fast and on luck.. seats will be free for you! Highly recommend to come try out this joint!!
J
šŸ˜‚took my sister here, she ate the burger and didn't realise it wasn't meatšŸŒ±
If you're vegan or just looking for a healthy burger that won't clog your arteries, soulburger is the answer to your prayers.
The FRIES are killer no matter which flavour you choose, I was stupid and ordered the red fries thinking they were sweet potato but they were still just as goodšŸŒ¶nice n SPICYYYY
YOU HAVE TO TRY THEIR COCONUT MYLKSHAKES. THEY WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE.
Bottomlesspit
I'm really into Soul Burger. It is cool to have a vegan "junk food" place. I shared the cheeseburger and American Badass. I like the cheeseburger best. It has that real American style taste, but they were both satisfying. The patties werenā€™t mushy and really held their shape well. Great serving sizes and the staff are really friendly. Oh and the coconut shakes. To die for.

Something to note: The staff don't wear their hair back and my friend had a hair in his burger, but we're not fussy.
Clare Atkinson
The lady at the counter was wonderful and the sweet potato fries and all the milkshakes are amazing! You should sell the homemade coconut ice cream by the scoop it's delicious! I've tried most the burgers but the only one I keep going back to is the falafel, as I'm not huge on fake meat but good to see the option there. I liked the old mushroom burger too before it was crumbed, either way awesome place!!!

Bread is not heated at point, but overall taste good. I had ordered an American Beef Burger, looked stunning, tasted as good as it's look like.

Terribly misleading food menu. NO MEAT on the menu despite labelling burgers as fish, che ken and beef. Fries are disgusting will never be back or recommend this place. Worst ever experience

Today I went to Soulburger for the first time.Ā
I have heard good stories from friends so I was excited to go and eat there.
It was quite busy around 7 pm.
I am celiac and was happy to see the menu on the boards hanging up above the counter.
It showed exactly what burgers would be gluten free if ordered on a gluten free bun.Ā
I ordered the classic cheese burger gluten free which would come with a 'beef' pattie.Ā
The food arrived quickly and it looked very good.Ā

While eating it I realized it did look like chicken and I checked the menu next to me to see what I exactly ordered. Ā Only than I saw a A4 sign stating that all beef patties would be changed for chicken due to shortage of the planted based beef patties.Ā
When I than checked the menu to see what would be in the chicken I noticed that the fried chicken is not gluten free.Ā

I went up to the staff whom actually didn't know if the chicken was gluten free or not. his response when i asked if my ordered burger was gluten free was; yes if you ordered it on gluten free bread it should be. When I asked him to check in the kitchen he came back to tell me it was actually not gluten free.

The gentle man who helped me was kind but definitely not understanding of the situation. I did feel taken serious at all and even a bit mocked. The manager was not in. He showed me the sign at the counter and told me I should have seen that, when I ordered a delivery guy was waiting. this might be the reason that the sign was blocked. It doesn't really matter anyway. An A4 paper is not enough to inform your costumers about a change in the ordered burger. Allergies should be taken mores serious than this and you should definitely educate your staff if your working in the food industry. I eventually got my money back for the burger because I asked for it.Ā

My allergy is very serious and I ordered a gluten free burger and did not receive one. If you change a part of the burger from what it states on the menu you should definitely always tell your costumer.Ā
Especially when I mentioned I am gluten free. I am now sick and had to cancel my plans and will most probably be sick all day tomorrow. Please educate your staff about allergies and make sure the costumer gets treated with concern when a mistake is made in the future.

The Soul B special - Double plant based beef, veggie slaw, onion rings, caramelised onions, cheese, cheese sauce & soul B sauce. This was my first time trying a plant based burger, it was definitely interesting but not for me. The cheesy fries here were great !
Quality! It Shouldnt Be That Hard! Love A Wonderful Mouth Full Of Wholesome FOOD!
So I got take away that morning all I had was soaked oats. Come here in the afternoon order the American burger and chips, the burger tasted nice however I actually got food poisoning, it ruined my experience, the staff was polite service was good my sickness was not good!!!
Athena
I love the idea of plant-based burgers so I had to give this place a try after exploring Glebe Markets on a Saturday afternoon. I ordered the Soul Fries, Southern Fried Chicken Burger and Vanilla Coconut Shake which came up to about $30 which is quite pricey for 2 people being served a fast food style meal. However, as a vegan I had to explore my options so Soul Burger's adventurousness outweighed its prices.Ā
In terms of food, most people seemed to enjoy it and also the ambiance, however, I did see a group of people walk off with half eaten burgers and untouched chips which was a complete pity and waste of food.Ā
I would recommend the coconut shakes the most because it didn't have a strong coconut taste which is good since I often find the scent and taste off putting. It was very sweet though but still delicious, better than a dairy milkshake for sure. The burger was decent but extremely salty, the chicken patty certainly had the texture of chicken breast but the crust wasn't very satisfying in terms of crunch. The soul fries were pretty much just mcdonalds french fries style smothered in cheese-like sauce, which I didn't like so I ended up eating around it. I would come back to try the cheeseburger, other milkshake flavours and possibly different fries, only because of the lack of plant-based (vegan) restaurants in Sydney to try out.
HotChipy
Have had my eyes on this place for quite some time. Was super satisfied with my cheeseburger (with mushroom). The "meat" was smokey & beefy & full of flavour. The sweet potato fries were a little underwhelming and the atmosphere was lacking a little but with that said I'd definitely return for another go at the burgers!

Went here during my 1-night sydney stay and this shop won the choice for my only vegan eating experience.
Service was very timely and extremely accomodating and the staff were all fantastic.
I didnt have to wait long at all for my meal to be served and I was very hungry so I ate it in a handful of minutes happily. The quality was superb. Flavors were not lacking and the texture combinations were great. Prices are certainly fair considering the preparation involved and general availability of such menu items.
Easily the best (vegan) burger shop I have ever visited and the best vegan burger I have tried; I would love to go back and try everything on the menu to select a favorite.
Highly recommend a visit to this shop for any burger seekers. Great environment and a memorable time.
Michelle
There was a couple that sat in front of their one burger for like 10 minutes.. just sitting there staring at their burger.. not eating it. 5 minutes later the girl gets a "milkshake" and another 5 min later she gets some fries. Weird. Anyway, I got the "American Badass" which came with hash browns??? not sure.. why.. and ONE onion ring?? the plant-based burger lacked flavorā€”the only sauce it came with was ketchup and mustard. i would assume if you're not getting flavor from meat/cheese, you would add at least an aioli or something. i would suggest putting whatever sauce that came w the shoestring fries on the burger. also... our fries were cold.. not even warm. i guess the only decent thing was the milkshake, which shouldn't be called a milkshake bc it isn't thick. it's more of a milk.. drink. i don't get privileged veganism.
VL
Patty was dry and bland and the texture was rough - 2/5.
The garlic aioli chips were a 4.5/5.
The smoothies were creamy but too much- 2.5/5
The service - 4/5
Atmosphere - 4/5
After eating, my friend and I felt nauseous and then one of us ended up hurling, probably from food poisoning

The Weekend Foodie
Went to soul burger for lunch on a saturday and it was jam packed. The joint is relatively small, and thats a lot of people packed into a small joint.

We had coconut shakes, not bad for a vegan shake. The best thing about it was that i had a clear throat, i usually have to have a cough after drinking milkshakes. We had a regular chocolate shake and choco banana shake, the banana flavour was very prominent.

We got a cheese fries and sweet potato fries, they were some of the best fries i have ever had. You can only get a large serving for the cheese fries and its a big serving. There is a small serving of the sweet potato fries available. The fries were super crunchy!!!! And the cheese sauce omfg... you HAVE to try it!

I got straya mate burger. I wasnt too big on the patty, i personally feel like if you are vegan or vegetarian and looking for a good burger soulburger is the place. However, i am a meat eater and i enjoy eating beef burgers because of the beef patty, i just personally cant reach that level of satisfaction with a plant based pattie. The buns were on point though. It was still a good burger nonetheless.

My partner (who is a pescatarian) got the soul b good burger, it was a monster, he enjoyed it thoroughly, however felt that there is still room for improvement in terms of thr pattie. He polished the entire thing off in 10 minutes.

I rated soulburger 3/5 and sam gave it a 4/5 so we shook hands on 3.5. We would come back, this place beats syd lord of the fries IMHO. sam would definitely be back for the burger and i will definitely be back for the fries and shakes!

*we were kindly invited

Soul Burgers saved the Starving souls!!! Buzzy in shopping at the glebe market under sun made us hungry quick. Came across this place and it was pretty good. Orders for a mushroom and a falafel burger. Both the burgers were pretty good especially the mushrooms. Falafel could be better.
Service - 4/5
Ambience - 3/5
Value for Money - 4/5

Soul Burger is Australiaā€™s first gourmet plant-based burger joint. According to their promotional material their vision is to launch a ā€˜blitzkrieg on big agricultureā€™ and spark a shift in Aussie Food Culture towards plant-based foods.Ā So what exactly is a plant-based burger and more importantly how does it taste?
Rachel P
I went here for sweet potato fries. It wasn't busy but boy oh boy did it take a long time to get them! But well worth the wait. Delicious. Thick, long, crunchy, salty. A large portion for $7 was good value. I cannot wait to go back for a burger ($10-$16ea) and a coconut ice cream milkshake ($7). The burgers and shakes look amazing so watch this space...
Tara Nath
Definitely a hit or miss type of place. They do their fries, southern fried "chicken" and "fish" burgers well! But avoid the pulled "pork" burger. It was way too acidic and left me with an upset stomach afterwards.
Poorani Bala
I LOVE the fried chicken burger! Yummmmm. Soul Burger is doing great things to generate awareness of animal cruelty & I'm glad that everyone has the opportunity to support them.
LAC
I ordered the pulled pork burger. Was so interested to try the jackfruit replaced for pork! Was really tasty and quite an interesting texture as well. My friend had one of the beef burgers and I thought it was quite meat like. Ā We both thoroughly enjoyed our burgers!
The aioli with the chips however was less enjoyable, the flavour was a bit 'funky'. Not sure what other word to use to describe it.
However, will definitely be back and would love to try another beef or chicken burger!

Being new to the area, I went for a potter down Glebe Point Rd one night to see which local restaurants might grab my attention. I had vaguely mentioned to my roommate that I enjoyed burgers, and she said that her brother had raved about Soul Burger. Not knowing anything about it beyond this anecdote, I decided to give it a shot.

For full disclosure, I enjoy meat. Very much. I was therefore extremely interested to experience the novelty of Soul Burger's 'plant-based' meat, and ordered a classic cheeseburger and a side of green fries. I think that, had I not known the patty was made of plant-based meat, I would have almost believed it was the real thing. Unfortunately, it was a bit too dry to be enjoyable, despite being otherwise flavoursome. Additionally, whilst the accompaniments were fine (fairly standard lettuce, tomato, relish, etc.), the cheese just didn't quite have the right flavour (in terms of the sort of cheese that you might want to accompany your burger), and was quite bland. The chips were nice and crispy, but the herb seasoning was uninspired and fairly tasteless.

Overall, if you are a vegetarian experiencing meat-withdrawal, I'm sure you would appreciate Soul Burger. For those of us with more options, however, Sydney is a city with many delicious burgers, and I would strongly advise one to go elsewhere to satiate their burger cravings.
Will Power
We're crying out for vego burger place! This place is unfort not it! My Chilli beef burger expensive, very very small, cold and the bun sodding wet, not yum!
Wanderlust
Oh my goodness! This is best burger joint ever!! The burgers are just INCREDIBLE! They are huge and packed full of flavour. I could only manage a cheese burger and it was perfect! All the sides and extras are just delicious. Price is good, the service is sooo lovely and friendly. It's actually pretty quick too even though it's always packed when I go!
Angela
This is my third time to SoulBurger and first to the Glebe store. I had the 'Straya Mate and although it was tasty I felt it was very mushy. It has lettuce, tomato, grilled pineapple, guac and beetroot sauce. I wasn't too fond of the beetroot sauce and would happily take a real slice of beetroot over it. Ā

It seems that they have changed the buns since the last time I was there, which was August. They seem more soft and sweeter. Tastes more like an American Burger than Aussie. I much preferred the crustier bun instead.Ā

The service was amazing,, very quick and hospitable. The girl taking my order was very sweet and bubbly.

All in all I do love SoulBurger but some things I don't particularly like.
J
This is coming from a meat eater - the food here is delicious! Even my husband who's a real meat lover said the burgers tasted great. I think the sauces are what helps make them so tasty. Just please don't come here expecting the exact same taste, texture and smell of meat and then give them a bad review because it doesn't taste *exactly* like your favourite real meat burger, because that's not fair. They are a vegan burger joint that makes really yummy vegan burgers. :)
Melissa Whitwell
The burgers here are pretty ridiculous, even the meat eating friends I was with approved! If you're a milkshake person you have to try theirs, absolutely delicious with zero milk!
The Critic
These burgers are good looking but unforetunatley the taste doesn't stack up. The sales of a plant based burger might be a good pitch to the non beef eaters out there but you cant go past the real thing for a burger.
Nadia
So happy that Soul Burger has opened in Glebe! Specialising in plant-based burgers and coconut milkshakes, it provides the fast food experience for those of us who are vegetarian/vegan. And it does it well. I tried the fish burger, which came with two pieces of battered "fish", fresh lettuce, juicy tomato, vegan tartare sauce and tomato relish. I also added pickles because for me, that's an essential part of any burger experience. The burgers are quite enormous so I ended up splitting mine in half and eating it like an open sandwich. Yum. Apparently, they've got lots of new burgers coming to the menu soon (like a pulled pork burger and a Southern chicken burger) so I'm keen to go back once there are more options.
Eden
Soul Burger makes the best burgers, literally. They've come up with some magic formula and I think the sauce plays a big part too, because the sauces in the burgers are delicious. My favourite burgers would be the chili beef, spicy sausage and the battered fish. The red fries are spicy and super tasty and the shakes are amazing. (Always go for the shake, too) The staff are always helpful and friendly, led by the lovely manager Gloria. Love it!

#soulburgerforlife

The Soul Burger team know what they're doing in regards to creating an all plant-based burger/fast food eatery. Love the new patties and can't wait for the new menu to drop!

P.S. Red fries for life!

There is absolutely nothing you can fault at Soul Burger Glebe. Literally. I have had most of their burgers and can't choose a favourite, I'm an absolute sucker for the choc coconut milkshake and sometimes just run down Glebe Pt Rd to get one take away. As a USYD student the opening of SB in Glebe has been the best thing to happen to me in my life...what's more, my jeans still fit...LOL. Plant-based burgers forever! Couldn't go without mentioning the incredible manager GLORIA who is just about the nicest person I've ever met. Passionately adore this store, its staff and its food but above all, I adore their dedication to cruelty-free practices and their message.
Elly
This place is burger heaven! The green fries and kumera fries are amazing too. Even when it's packed I've never had to wait long for my order, and the staff are invariably efficient and super friendly. Such an awesome addition to Glebe Point Road.

Tried everything on their menu and never once been disappointed. The premises are always clean and presentable. The staff are extremely friendly as well which is a bonus! Recommend getting the mushroom burger.

Had a try first day of opening. Didn't know it was vegetarian burgers only. No offence to vegetarians, but if you can handle meat. Go elsewhere for a proper burger.

I saw Soul Burgers a few times while I was on the bus on my way home and it was always really busy and with a nice and funky look.

Yesterday My boyfriend and I finally decided to go there for dinner and I have to say.. I'M SO GLAD I FOUND OUT ABOUT THIS PLACE!
I got the Chilli beef burger and it was so tasty and delicious! The sauce they use is to die for! (I need to know how you make it!) and we also got a milkshake and some sweet potato chips (cause we had to šŸ˜œ).. YUMYUMYUM! Super recommended

EDIT: I need to add that the stuff is lovely and welcoming! I'll definitely come back (probably way too often haha)

Ordered chilli beef but the burger has no beef taste. I guess they put vegetarian patty in there. I can understand but at least they should let me know

Went in for a late dinner. I was recommended by the cashier that the popular choices were classic and chilli beef. I went with the classic and green fries. They were quick to come but the patty was cold. It was at room temperature, literally. It was a let down but the fries were amazing, I can eat them all day.

The atmosphere was really cool and casual. I will come back for fries and the ambiance, not the burger though.
