Review Kazbah - Darling Harbour - Sydney

Only went to try out the Shisha experience. A bit expensive but can’t put a price on experience. Considering only 3 tables was occupied, drink service was slow.

Amazing authentic food. 4 of us had dinner on Friday night and the food was beautiful. We were greeted by a friendly team that made you feel so welcome that you were invited into their home. The menu was explained in detail as they steered us in the right direction of what to choose. We had the Kazbah platter along with additional skewers and sides. All of the dips were house made and the char grill skewer flavours were cooked to perfection. We could not finish everything. Will definitely return for another amazing meal.

Lovely / prime location and nice ambiance for a working lunch whist working at the ICC centre. I was the only customer- waited 15 mins for my order to be taken. Food okay - it was $65 for a lunchtime spot. I should have picked why it was empty.

Been to Kazbah Darling harbour many times. Love the venue. Friendly service. Nice ambience and good food. They also serve sheesha/argyle if you sit in the balcony area. Great views from the balcony. They have great range of cocktails and mock-tails and a great wine list. I love their Mango sunset mock-tail, one of my favourite. However, I feel it’s a bit over priced but good food.

Food was delicious and top notch. I don't mind paying for quality and thoroughly enjoyed the food. However, the customer service was not good. We asked for water 4 times and even went to the counter and were served only after speaking to the manager. The shisha lacked flavor and tobacco. If they improve their customer service and their shisha quality, this place has the right vibe, good food and the ambience.

Came here yesterday. View was beautiful. Food was average. 7 hours later both me and my partner had severe food poisoning including sweating, diarrhoea and vomiting. Called to ask for a refund for our poor experience and the “manager” proceeded to give me a lecture on their 5 star kitchen and food control processes, told me I should have complained on the day, did not apologise, was speaking over me in a very condescending voice and refused the refund. Absolutely DISGUSTING service! If I wanted a free feed I could have made it at home. I wanted my money back because I am not satisfied at all. No wonder they only have a 3 star rating. Disgraceful.

Food was ok, service was really disappointing; it felt like we did a mistake going there. My worst experience as a customer in a restaurant. Food was overpriced considering the taste and quantity. Overall not a good experience. In case you bring a birthday cake, it’s $3.5 each person because they would bring a plate and spoon to your table. The only thing we enjoyed was the view.
Dans Journey
The food is great here. I went last weekend thought I would try something new. The bar staff were excellent and enjoyed the whole experience. It's a great location for a meal.

I am meat lovers. The dessert and drinks are reasonable price. The roasted potatoes tasted a bit salty when serving with main dish. We also tried SHISHA, tobacco and herb option. You can refer the price with menu.<br/>Good stay anyway.

While Vivid Sydney lights up the city, you can fill your tummy with delicious middle Eastern treats at Kazbah Darling Harbour. <br/>With beautiful views over the glistening Harbour, the restaurant itself is a great cozy spot to escape the cold and tuck into some tasty food. <br/>The cocktail list is right up my alley with plenty of fruity concoctions, and of course make a great gram!<br/>The menu is lengthy and we were lucky our friendly waiter helped us navigate through the must haves. <br/>Crispy fried cauliflower and succulent haloumi to start, along with fresh baked bread and my fave labneh. I could smother life in labneh haha. <br/>Mains was a traditional chicken dish, and then a showstopping lamb that came served on an actual sword!<br/>If you can save room for dessert the chocolate donut balls were incredible!<br/>Kazbah is a classic, and I’ll def be back!<br/>Thanks Kazbah Group and @foodshotsydney for having us!

Because there’s nothing better to be done than to enjoy a big feast with all your best friends.<br/><br/>Kazbah’s food menu is all designed to share, and there’s something for everyone: Fava bean & Capsicum dip, Tabboleh, Koshary, Harissa Marmalade Beef on a sword, Casablanca Lamb with Barberry Glaze, Jewel Rice, Yoghurt & Oregano Gremolata, Kazbah Bomb, Knafeh, and Turkish coffee and delight.

This place is great for a nice shisha session with a view. It’s pretty overpriced compared to other places though. The food here is alright, really depends on what you order. Their fried cauliflower was awesome but their grilled salmon was so bland and tasteless.
Dina
We ordered lamb kofta sword and beef tagine. The beef is tender and flavoursome though the winner must be the lamb kofta on the bed of potato Harrisa. The prices are not cheap (around $30) but they are well worth it. Grilled skewers cooked to perfection, tender, juicy, complemented with hummus, and superb baked potatoes.

Kazbah was established at Balmain in 1998 by Penny and Zahi Azzi where the duo showcased their passion for Moroccan and Middle Eastern cuisine.  Their Darling Harboour outpost is located at the waterfront of The Promenade with commanding views across the water. The menu at Kazbah is designed to be shared and the couple of Mezza dishes we opt for are of a decent size.  Fried Cauliflower ($19.50) Middle Eastern-style always whets our appetite, Kazbah doesn’t disappoint.  The vegetable is soft but not mushy; Tahini and eggplant jam bring flavour while pinenuts contribute texture.

We been to this place the food was not great for 6 people we were given food equivalent for 4 people. They give us 1 fish and one chicken skewers with some dips and a small ball of rice and lamb stew charged us $370. This does not include drinks. Don’t go there such rip off. We were told they will look after us but it was such a disappointment that we went there and came back disappointed.

Have visited the place on a number of occasions.Recently visited for a Christmas dinner with colleagues and ordered the feast menu.We were given a separate area and the service was prompt. There were enough options for vegans as well as vegetarians. They even customised the feast menu to cater to the vegans/vegetarians.The highlight of the dinner was the lamb curry and fried cauliflower.

Went here for weekday lunch with my family and had a terrific experience. The staff and in particular, the manager were very pleasant and welcoming. We had a mix of a la carte and the very reasonably priced lunch specials. All the food was delicious, in particular the chicken tagine and couscous - wow, so much flavour! Hats off to the chef too.

From what I can remember, I came here with a friend and ordered the shisha and I have never been more disappointed. We got our shisha about half an hour later and it was truly a disappointment as it did not even crank at all. I called the manager, he supposedly did something to it but really it looked like that he didn't even know what he was doing and he apologised and brought the shisha back and made us a new one, and it still was not even cranking at all.<br/>We have spent the next whole hour trying to work this shisha and it just would not cooperate. <br/>I called the waitress that was holding the basket of coals to ask if she can check it for us and see what she can do and she replied saying that she did not smoke. So why be in-charge of customers with shishas with holding the smoke basket? if we had traded places, I would be able to assist the customers. After a terrible whole hour and a half of uselessness, they still charged me for that stupid shisha.<br/>All I can say is, never again will I go to this place. Folks, if you want quality and real shisha, there's nowhere else but the West. Yes, Parramatta area where the shisha is cheaper, more real, and you get fresh heads rather than clay. The area where they actually know what the hell they're doing. Not the city.

Extremely busy restaurant. Booked a place for friday night. Just had entrees and couldnt complain - We were super hungry and quantity and taste was quite awesome.  Shisha was amazing :) In short, I had a very good night!

Dined here on a Saturday night. The restaurant was busy, but the food came out pretty quickly. We ordered one of the share platters for 3. The food was fresh and tasty, it would have been nice if there was more meat on the platter. Lots of dips and chips, some more meat would have been perfect, other than that everything was tasty.<br/><br/>Entertainment wise, it was unreal. They had a belly dancer with great music, and a very lively atmosphere overall.<br/><br/>I liked that they have the Shisha smoking in the balcony, we ordered one after dinner and were seated outside pretty quickly. Shisha was good, but the outside area was very cramped and uncomfortable.<br/><br/>Overall I would recommend you give the place a try.<br/>

Not impressed, very disappointed. My reccomendation is for people not to come to this place. Surely it is a place where they like to prey on tourists and locals. Wont be returning. make sure you read the bill before you pay. They tried to rob me of my change. the prick at the register tried to use tactics to not give my change. If the food was fresh i probly wouldhav left a tip.<br/><br/>Bill was $103.50 <br/><br/>I put $120.00 in the waiter book <br/><br/>The prick closed the book and put it down like that was the end of it. He tried to ignor me, Then when he realised i was waiting for my money.. he gave me a $10 note by itself to see if i wasnt bothered for the $6.50, Then he realised i wouldnt budge and then gave me the rest of my money.<br/><br/>The servings wernt generous so i didnt want to leave a tip<br/><br/>Staff seemed nice but food wasnt fresh. <br/><br/>I ordered a platter for two $100 and there was only one lamb skewer. 2 sambousik, 2 kafta the rest was full of cheap ingredients. Bread and chips and cheap dips.  not worth your time or money.

I went there on 6th of Oct, 2017 with my 3 friends for shisha. There was a boy with lack of hospitality experience at the door. We wanted to sit down outside and we waited for 20 minutes which was fine. One of the waitresses (tall one) who suggested us to have something while we are waiting to be seated outside. So we decided to have some fries. I am sorry to tell you that those fries were pre cooked. finally, we got our shisha but around 10 minutes later, our shisha went strong and we were coughing. We needed assistance and ask that door boy to help us. But he was very rude and told us with his cold tone that we have to wait. He came and played around with our shisha then left. It didn't helped. Then I had to call one of their waitresses and she was able to fixed the problem. All I want to say that we want to come back to this place again. I don't want to blame the place for what happened to us last Friday but it is your responsibility to make sure your customers get better service and food from you. Thank you
MTM
If only there's an option of not giving a star! <br/>We're regular customers at the Balmain location and decided to try the Darling Harbour resto as we were around the area. <br/>Worst customer service ever. Even though the place was almost empty, it took ages for someone to come. A guy approached us and just literally put the menu cards on the table and walked away without saying anything- no eye contact/hi/hello or whatever simple gesture of acknowledging us. So rude!!! We left and went to Hurricanes restaurant upstairs instead. Needles to say won't be recommending this place to anyone.
Love At First Bite
Find us on instagram: loveatfirstbite_aus<br/><br/> Kazbah is a chain restaurant that serves great authentic Middle Eastern food. We visited the one in Darling Harbour for dinner one night with a friend, wanting to try their exotic dishes. We ordered three dishes to share including two shish kebab swords. The first one was the harissa marmalade beef with Moroccan eggplant and potato hara. This was delicious, the beef was nicely marinated and the eggplant was tender and full of flavour.
Ellie
apart from its location, the restaurant is not really a wow. food is not satisfying and even the shisha is not the best one. the only good thing is the customer service
Tulika Kabra
Ahhh the place was great. Have been there over a weekend for dinner. As we were starving, we jumped to the main course. Koshary is a must try. Simply authentic mediterranean dish!! After having the main course, we decided to have a drink with a hukka in the open area which turned out to be good decision. Great place to be!
Kellybeans
Food is decent here but extra points for great customer service, above and beyond expectations. My favourite dish here was the octopus keftedes with beetroot tatziki, such a great combo. Crispy exterior, mash potato like interior mixed with octopus bits, all enhanced by the slight sweet and sour taste of beetroot tatziki. <br/><br/>The koshary (Egyptian rice) was a very light and subtle pilaf fried onion garnish with a mix of tomato and chilli paste that greatly complemented the dish. The last dish we had was the lamb shawarma, this dish was a bit of a let down as the lamb was overcooked and the bread was a bit dry. The flavours of the lamb had really good depth though, as it was rich and flavoursome.

We visited on saturday night, the place was full and it was waiting also they don't take reservation which is quiet justifiable as they have so many walkins. We waited and went after fireworks luckily after few minutes wait we got the table outside as we wanted to have shisha. They managed quiet well even in small outdoor place to give the feeling of shisha lounge. <br/>We had few drinks and kazbah special shisha which was good. The price was on higher side which is extra perk of having the perfect location of darling harbour.<br/>If u r planning to visit on satrday night to enjoy shisha with the view of fireworks and harbour, grab a seat soon in the evening.<br/>Cheers🍺

Rude Staff and Very Poor Customer Service<br/><br/> <br/><br/>I called Kazbah at about 10:00pm on Christmas day to see<br/>what time they take last orders and if we can get there about 10:15 - 10:30 for<br/>a shisha and few drinks (No food) and they said that they will be taking last orders<br/>beteween 10:30 - 11:00pm and they will close about midnight. I told them I will<br/>be there at 10:30 and they said no worries see you soon. <br/><br/> <br/><br/>I get there at 10:30pm and I am then told they have no room<br/>outside even though there was a table free. I asked to see the manager and I<br/>spoke to him and he said I can take the table. I went and sat down and the guy<br/>serving came up to me and rudely said "Who said you can take this<br/>table?" I told him I spoke to the manager and explained that I called up<br/>and there was no mention over the phone that there was no room and that they<br/>will see us soon. I was ready to order but the guy serving said he will be<br/>back. He then chose to ignore me and serve 2 other tables which had already<br/>ordered and had their shisha and drinks on their tables. I try to order at the<br/>counter as they close at midnight and with the lack of customer service it is<br/>about 10:50 at this stage. Same guy then comes up to me and goes go back to<br/>your table and I will come to you. So I waited another 5-10minutes and he<br/>finally comes to take my order. I order a few drinks and a fresh pineapple<br/>shisha ($60 + $3 for a disposable hose). <br/><br/> <br/><br/>When that arrives the coals they used were mostly black and<br/>they said the new ones are coming shortly. I then take the rubber seal out of<br/>the shisha to put on the disposable hose and find out it hasn't been cleaned<br/>and has all dew from previous sessions. I cleaned it with a tissue and started<br/>the shisha and then another waiter comes with the new coal and he takes off the<br/>current coal and puts them directly on the side of the pineapple head as it<br/>took up the whole tray. I had to ask him to remove them and put them in his coal<br/>holder as they would burn through the side of the pineapple head. As he places<br/>the new coals my partner realises that he had poked a 2 holes straight through<br/>the foil with the tongs. I had to ask him to remake the head which he didn't<br/>understand so I told him to call over the manager. Instead he calls over his<br/>workmate that was rude to us from the very beginning. He ended up taking the<br/>pineapple head back in. As he took it off I realised how filthy the shisha was<br/>(Please refer to the photos). Looks like they never clean them out. I get the<br/>pineapple head back about 10minutes later (Not sure if they repacked it or just<br/>re-foiled it). I also noticed that they have removed the ball bearings from the<br/>shisha's so that the customers cannot empty out the excess smoke from the base<br/>chamber. They have jammed in a napkin which doesn't allow the user to release<br/>the smoke. Overall rubbish service, very unclean shisha's and rude staff.

Went there on our last day in sydney. Weather was great and we should have known the quality given only one couple were in the restaurant. Anyhow, we were seated, given menus, and we just orderrd a lemon/mint juice , and a labne and bread. It took about 25 minutes for that one plate to come out- and it certainly was not what i expected. It was like this fried crepe type greesey fatty "bread" with some labne folded into it. When i went to pay i was charged wrongly (double what i was meant to pay), and its only when i asked for a reciept that the guy realized. Come on, two tables and you get us mixed up. I dont recommend and wont be going back!
A Girl With Curves
I can't comment on the food as I haven't eaten here yet. As far as the Shisha is concerned. $40 is a complete rip off. Also, the coals they use are quick igniting coals and make the Shisha taste disgusting! When I told the manager he suggested I should've told him earlier and he would've changed to coconut coals. I think for $40 a pop, they should be using the best of everything!

This is a lovely spot right on Darling Harbor. The staff was quite courteous and prompt, the menu was extensive enough to have a nice selection and the food was quite tasty.

Wonderful place!!<br/>The food is very nice, I would recommend to try authentic food such as the Tagine which is my favourite dish.<br/>The service and the atmosphere are pleasant.<br/>Over all excellent value for money.

It's a nice place to enjoy lunch by the harbour. Their $10 lunch menu is not elaborate but everything we ordered was very good! Service wasn't bad either. I would definitely go again.
ARFoodie
The location is amazing, as is the atmosphere(they had a belly dancing show when I went) but the food is way overpriced for the quality you get.

We were looking for a restaurant on a busy Saturday and decided to give it a try. Four of us order entree and two mains to share. We got a good table staff were very pleasant, ordered a bottle of wine, which was out of stock the replacement was good, food tasted alright but not fantastic, the second main didn't turn up, a couple of drinks ordered didn't turn up well. Probably why we could get in I guess.

With all Mediterranean/Middle Eastern meals, everything is better when shared. Kazbah is one of those restaurants where it is better to come with a few ppl. That way you get the most out of the mezzes that are available.<br/><br/>I've know Kazbah has been around for so long! This was my first visit there and I happen to go with a group of about 6. <br/><br/>We ordered a variety of mezzes on the menu. My favourite had to be the kataifi wrapped prawn and the dip board. They were delicious.<br/><br/>The service was good and they were very attentive. <br/><br/>We were eager to smoke some shisha and this seemed to be very popular as we had to wait until one became available. They were very accommodating for the amount of ppl we had on their terrace outside of the main restaurant area. As this area was a lot busier than inside the restaurant should get a few more staff to attend to customers outside as we had to wait a while to get our drink orders.
Pankaj Kawatra
One of the best middle eastern food and the view is just cherry on the top.<br/><br/>The staff is quite friendly but takes a lot of time to get your drinks and at times are confused if you order something from a different staff.<br/><br/>The vegetarian food, though had few options but were good.<br/><br/>The chicken is really good.<br/><br/>Great place to go.<br/>
Paul Clarke
Great atmosphere but staff tend to ignore you if you sit outside. I ordered a beer then thought I'd get something to eat but after 25 minutes of trying to get someones attention I was forced to go to the bar to pay only to be directed to the cashier. So only one beer simply because of inattention. Just because people are outside does not mean they should be ignored.
Sydneysider16
We didn’t know about this before and we’re sorta kicking ourselves for eating crappy eats in and around the area when we could have been eating here. Welcome to our new favourite Medina-inspired joint.  Its one of those eateries everyone should know about because the food’s actually pretty damn terrific. Discovering this now also makes us think, well what about that great hangout and the food fresh delicious and quite easily some of the most flavoursome eats you’ll get this side of Sydney. Roti? Dammmn good

Awesome food. Awesome ambience.<br/>Had good time there. The food was just yummy. Would definitely visit again the next time i am in Sydney Australia

Service is weird here. Been here a few times over the past few years. They used to be good and attentive but noticed recently that if you are sitting outside you get avoided. Some waitstaff can be really good then others will avoid you like the plague. I have tried the lunch specials years ago which was good from memory and a great price but I cannot really comment on how the food is now. We had recently gone here for shisha, which is expensive but I think this is the only place in the city vicinity that offers it. Also another time for a few cocktails as we thought there was cocktail specials on but weren't informed that the special price was only for 1 item from the drinks menu. It was good that they didn't charge us full price for it since the waitstaff did not confirm with us prior to ordering.
A Food Fable
We came here for lunch on a Sunday and the place wasn't too busy at 12pm. The decor is, like the other Kazbahs, very Turkish and really sets the mood. You can't really go past the lunch specials, which are only $9.95 for say a burger, pizza, barramundi etc. We also had a $25 gift voucher from updating my details on their website, which brought down the total bill a lot too! The service was pretty good and I would come here again for a group outing - definitely suitable for groups and a meal with conversations.
Danielle
We had the olive oil za'atar with mixed bread for starters and vegetarian pizza and cauliflower mezze for lunch. The food was really delicious, the pomegranate dressing on the pizza was so flavorsome! The service was friendly but not the most attentive. I will definitely be back! <br/>A lot of the comments mention the high prices and small portions, I didn't see any of that. My pizza was a decent size (especially for only $9.95) and so was the cauliflower.
It's CAKe Time
The top line: Come here if you want to try some exotic Middle Eastern cuisine . Slightly on the pricier side but you’ll get great food, great atmosphere, great dancing (there was a belly dancer who kept the crowd entertained and even got people from the audience to stand up and dance with her), beautiful view of the harbour. The service however, was a bit slow for the night but that’s okay since it was a Saturday night and time flew quickly when you’re with friends in such an atmosphere.
Eating Out Sydney
The decor is really nice and beautiful to be around..and seemingly unchanged from what was once the awesome "sumac" restaurant, where some good effort and thought was placed into the moroccan fitout with cushions on the seats and brass bars around the place. Sexy decor. Anyway onto the food - it is delicous and serving size is good. Lunch time is slow service but they are polite and attentive. I have previosuly been for dinner here and the service time i never noticed - so it was either on point or I was very distracted! :) I recommed it. And ladies - it is a jeans venue ;)
Kalani_545
Not great. We had dinner at Kazbah and spent $150 on dinner for 3 but really didn't think the food was value for money...
2 Hungry Guys
Having expecting a heavily Middle Eastern / Lebanese restaurant, I was surprised to read that Kazbah described their cuisine as “Middle Eastern, Turkish, Persian, Mediterranean and Moroccan/North African, and French.” Looks like we were in for a surprise.
THEJUGERNAUTS
A warm glow emanates from within Harbourside Shopping Centre. We approach and are greeted by Moroccan patterns, intricate light fixtures and bulbous water jugs. Men are leisurely communing over hookahs on the patio, immediately transporting us into a more ‘loosened’ state of mind.
Sarahversuscarbs
Ooh yeah baby. This is the chocolate & raspberry pancake with butterscotch sauce and chocolate fudge ice cream. Chocoholics will love this. And I’m also glad that the sourness of the raspberry cuts through the super-duper chocolateyness of this dessert.
All About Food Blog
Kazbah Restaurant delivered a nice Middle Eastern feel with well-presented Middle Eastern dishes.
I'm Still Hungry
Kazbah serves Middle Eastern cuisine – you have your shish kebabs, your falafels, lebanese bread with various dips (hummus anyone?), and generally a very traditional, yet exotic ways of cooking it all up. Theres a distinct Moroccan influence to it all (example of a famous Moroccan dish – couscous), with distinct and liberal use of spices.
Sherrie Huang
If there's one thing you need to order when you go to Kazbah, this is it. The bread had soft innards surrounded by a deliciously crunchy crust. Look at that fatty bacon as well! Tastes amazing but cannot be good for my arteries :P But the sweet figs paired perfectly with the bacon and syrup. I've become the biggest fan of the bacon and syrup combination every since breakfast at Pancakes on the Rocks!
Sir And Mlady Dine Out
Kazbah has Phoenician, Arabic and African through to French, Italian and Spanish influences. It is this diversity that makes Kazbah such an exciting dining experience. We started with fried cauliflower which came in a fairly sizeable serving.

Atmosphere: Relaxed and helpful.
Best For Breakfast
Another different breakfast option but with simple standards still available.
Ramen Raff
The Casablanca royale lamb tagine with roasted vegetables and couscous (normally around $23) was like a groovy disco of flavours and colours, Oh Yeah! The lamb was so tender that all you need is a fork to pull it apart. I savoured each bite of the colourful vegetables. The vegetables were so tasty and perfectly cooked.

I read about this breakfast buffet at Kazbah on Darling in Not Quite Nigella's blog. The food just looked so fantastic that even though I knew I wouldn't be able to pull together the necessary 8 people for the breakfast special, I wanted to go for lunch o
Phuoc'n Delicious
Food is jam packed with flavour. However, this is the second time I’ve been here and I’ve found that the service can be a little mixed at times. Some waiters can be helpful, others not so much; you’d sometimes need to grab their attention if you need something.
Laura Brown
i loved this brunch so much, the combination was insanely tasty. i approve.

Maybe it's because it's Winter or maybe it's because I had a Middle Eastern style breakfast last weekend at The Organic Pomegranate , or perhaps it's just fate that Tiff's birthday brunch had been arranged at Kazbah, that I found myself having another Middle Eastern style breakfast this weekend. Whatever the reason, this breakfast was unlike any other that I've ever had...ever. Why? Well, simply put it was in no-man's land of Darling Harbour where only tourists and carnivores flock (to Hurricanes) and it was a set menu of 10 courses for only $25! Bargain hunters and foodies alike have sung the praises of the Kazbah's famous brunch menu which requires a minimum of 8 people to be booked in advance. I'd read a few reviews on various blogs prior to my visit so that I knew I was going to have to pace myself. We started off with drinks (excluded from the brunch deal). I had a mixed berry frappe ($6.50) which was wonderfully fruity and tangy and did not dissolve into a watery slush at the end
I Ate My Way Through
Moroccan food is extensively flavoured with spices such as cumin, aniseeds, tumeric, cinnamon, coriander, and paprika. What I love about the Moroccan cuisine is its lovely blend of textures and flavours... the unique contrast of sweet and savoury. Sumac R

Iam ready for pay $100 for mains but the food at Kazbah was not worth it ... Very poor . Will never go back again.

Booking. Is it possible to book a table for two in an advance date??like two weeks before??

Terrible hospitality. From a great experience at the Top Ryde franchise, decided to pop into the Darling Harbour venue last Sunday afternoon. The restaurant was by no means busy, however we stood there for a minute wondering if we had to seat ourselves and where we were allowed to sit. Eventually we sat ourselves. My girlfriend went and spoke to the waitress asking if it was okay to sit where we were, to which she said it was fine. My girlfriend then helped herself to some menus which we also didn't mind. The waitress silently dropped a water jug to our table for us, to serve ourselves. The waitress then walked past our table several times over the next 5 minutes, without looking at us or enquiring whether we wanted drinks to start and attending a single of table of two people. We had by now finished with the menus and were playing with our phones waiting to be served for a further five minutes. After more waiting we decided to leave and attend Crinitis upstairs were we were immediately taken to our seats, immediately asked if we wanted drinks while we looked at the menu, and were even given a run down of the menu, all the while our waiter attended to three large tables at the same time. Bravo Crinitis

Poor experience. Have to say very disappointed ...went there with a group..advised we had to have the set menu at $45.. Not a problem..the amount of food that came out was a problem..seriously there was only enough food to feed half the people we had and we did not receive all that was listed! The to make matter worse you had the hide to charge a gratuity fee of 12% on top!!!!! <br/>Would not recommend this restaurant and will make sure friends and family know about it..the only thing this place had going for it was the decor and the staff....

Stayed for three hours. Fresh air, water views, cocktails, plenty of entertainment just walking past. And finally, the Kazbah Bomb was THE BOMB! Supreme happiness :)

Really disappointed. My salad was missing an ingredient which is grilled haloumi and to make up for it, they served me two two slices of haloumi on a plate with a sliced lemon. there were 10 of us and we all walked away pretty disappointed as our food lacked flavour. We will never go back again.

Great food, great service and lovely location on the first day of day-light saving. After a late lunch we wanted something light. We selected glasses of good rose and red wine to accompany the meze plate entree. It was the perfect size for us, and everything was delicious.

Ripoff !!!. Went there with a few friends visiting Australia for a week...ended up waiting a lot, having to ask once, twice, even three times for water, the waitress forgot the ordered drinks and brought them only when we had finished our meal, the service was really unpleasant, our main waitress was condescendant all evening and very unpleasant. The food was extremely over priced, we ended the meal and were still really hungry...we decided to take a sheesha even though the price was easily 4x times the regular price for one....ended up with a HUGE bill, almost empty stomach and a really unpleasant feeling since the poor food, the really poor service and the huge bill ruined what was until arriving to this place a really good sunday...I would recommand to everyone passing by this "restaurant" to keep walking and find something else !!<br/>food : 4/10<br/>service : 0/10<br/>price : $$$$$$$$<br/>All i know is that I will never make the mistake of going there ever again !

Poor Food. Don't let the decor, belly dancers or Hashish pipes trick you into thinking that the Kazbah will provide you with an authentic experience or food worthy of Lebanese cuisine. All of the dishes sound so appealing on the menu but the execution is that poor that I it wouldn't even make a 1 out of 5. Stick to the traditional establishments

Amazing service and food! A taste sensation, food came out straight away and with a sile. Thank you for a great experience

Bland food, stale bread, belly dancer with bad attitude and disgusting toilets. Avoid this place.

Poor service, bad attitude. Our food all arrived except one dish, we assumed they'd forgotten it, in the mean time we finished the rest of our meal and when we went to pay, the missing dish was just coming out of the kitchen. Obviously by then it was too late. Then instead of being apologetic they gave attitude to us for not being patient enough. O.. kay. Nice way to treat customers. Won't return, would not recommend.

Bad service and uncooked chicken. I booked 2 weeks in advance for my sister's 30th birthday. The booking was made for 10 people, upon our arrivals we were seated at a table that was located right at the restaurant's entry door. We ordered the set menu, the Entree came an hour after our arrivals, through out the evening we were always asking the waiter/waitress for plates/water refill/glasses etc. the service was poor. Our main course especially the chicken was uncooked, we asked the waiter to take the chicken back at the end of the night we were charged the full price for the menu even though the chicken was untouched. Overall a very bad service and food, will never go back or recommend this place to anyone.

Great Experience. We dined here on a mini break to Sydney. We stayed nearby and had seen it whilst investigating what was on offer in Darling Harbour. The decor is fabulous and very much reminded us of IrN, where we travelled to in January. I agree re poor service but as we weren't in a rush it didn't matter but if you were I too would not be too happy. Good choice of dishes which we shared. Warmer weather it must be nice to sit outside - but was foolish so we sat in. Authentic and beautiful food. Give it a try!
Katie
Absolutely brilliant! I got a mezza plate and then on the recommendations of the waiter ordered the cauliflower, shredded lamb and calamari mezza plates. The staff were wonderfully helpful and attentive as well as cheerful and happy to have a laugh. The Turkish delight martini was amazing. The atmosphere was lovely and decor beautiful. Don't understand the negative reviews here.

DINNER AND SHISHA. Went there for friday night, for dinner and shisha place was very busy, nice decoration and food was good .
Karmz.kitty
Under new management as of the last year... New manager quite rude, did not allow us to have shishah on its own. We were required a minimum spend of $25 per person, the four of us making a total of $100. After just having had dinner elsewhere and wanting to relax (and without a need to spend the extra $60 after shishah), we were instead forced to leave after the manager said, "Well, you should have eaten here." Very counterintuitive rule as he is now losing customers instead of earning more per customer.

I was so excited to at Kazbah Darling Harbour restaurant with my family on Friday 24th Jan 2015 only to walk out extremly disappointed.<br/>I have 4 growing boys aged 8, 7, 5, 3 their kids menu priced $14.95 was extremly shocking it basically consisted of a 2 toothpicks each with 2 pieces of meat accompanied with 7 or less hot chips and a bowl of salad. (Not a drink or desert included) As i said i have 4 growing boys and within the first two minutes they ate it all and complained they were still hungry. I couldnt believe my eyes when there individual meals came out, i have no problem paying top dollar for not only the quality but quantity of food it was shameful. I myself come from middle eastern background and cook these dishes at home on a daily basis and point blank i got ripped off.<br/><br/>Secondly when the salad came out covered in cheese i kindly asked th waitor if i could please have one without cheese (i was unaware the salad contained cheese) as my son is lactose intorant and he so rudely refused saying he would have to "chuck" it and if i wanted fatoush i would have to pay for it, considering i paid $220 for lunch your waitor could of been more gracious.<br/>Kazbah from my experience is only to make profit it has nothing to do with satisfying customers with love from their food.<br/>I walked out with my family extremely dissapointed to never want to return and to never want to recommend this restaurant to any of my family and friends.<br/>I am not someone to provides feedback but in all honestly it was so disapointing i had to go buy my children a burger aftwards to fill them up as i refused to order anything else off their menu

Terrible service or thought to a smaller group. Food pretty good when it finally arrived but we nearly died of starvation in the mean time.

Terrible terrible terrible slow service. <br/>Great food when it eventually arrived.

My sister in laws hens night dinner was at Kazbah....and if it wasn't for her I would have walked out. Their service is terrible. We dined for over 3hrs while they brought out a plate at a time, neither of us ate at the same time. Food was cold, and if you dared asked for something you would get told "no" straight away. Biggest waste of a $45 banquet ever. There was 20 of us who attened & wasn't even enough food to feed 10 of us. Won't ever step foot in such a rubbish restaurant. Save your money & go else where

They saved us!. After getting lost in Sydney (don't ask where they intended going) Mr and Mrs Patel ended up at Dragon Boat, where their order was lost and they were served nothing but tea for an hour. Needless to say (it now being 9pm) they were ravenous and rather put out by.<br/><br/>Having been seated outside at the Dragon Boat, Mr Patel had eyed up a restaurant he would have rather been in, Kazbah. <br/><br/>It was a bit more expensive than they had intended, but at this point they didn't care.<br/>A basket of mixed breads was quickly scoffed. It was filling, but only as tasty as plain mixed breads could be.<br/>Then two serves of half quail, in a delicious and unexpectedly spiced pomegranate sauce that gave promised improvement to the evening.<br/><br/>The main events, 'Lamb Kafta, Garlic Crushed Potatoes, Kalamata Olives, Chakchouka, Hummus Sauce'<br/> served on a sword and the 'Goat, Black Olives, Pumpkin, Saffron Yoghurt Sauce, Pinenuts & Almond Burnt Butter' served with a choice of rice or cous cous. Mrs Patel chose cous cous, it came scented with rose petals. It was divine.<br/><br/>Expecting mean servings our intrepid explorers also bought a fattoush salad and duck fat potatoes. This was not necessary, but it was delicious. They were not able to finish their meal.<br/><br/>Tobaccoless shishs was sampled, but at $40, they wished they'd bought another main. <br/><br/>The service was excellent.<br/><br/>Thank you for rescuing us.

If Kazbah was a person I am very sure he/she would have been beaten up. My experiences include the following<br/><br/>Wrong bookings for our group of 12<br/>Wrong drinks<br/>Wrong food<br/>Wrong bill... Wait right bill with a public holiday day charge as well... Yes that's right a public holiday charge that we didn't pay. An angry night for all ...

BAD SERVICE. Good location. Good fitout. Not really pram friendly if you come in from the harbour. The service here was atrocious. There were hardly any customers and yet I had to ask for EVERYTHING.<br/><br/>I had to ask for help with the pram. I had to ask for a high chair. I had to ask for our menus. I had to ask for some water. I had to ask to take our order. This has got to be the worst service in Sydney! I ordered a chai tea for my wife at the end of the meal and I could see the docket sitting there and the boss had an argument with the kitchen. Kitchen took the docket but NEVER made the drink. After waiting a little while, I think it was clear the drink was NOT coming but nobody bothered to come over and tell us. THey were actually waiting for us to get frustruated and cancel the order. WOW this was super super bad. Don't come here if you want a decent dining experience.

So good. Love this place. Pretty sure Walter White served us last time. Excellent service, great food, timeless classic.

Great service, food was excellent and didn't have to wait long for my food to arrive! The fried cauliflower (entree) is delicious!!

Terrible service... Uncooked food. I decided to go to Kazbah Monday this week to take my sister there who had never been. I have been once before and It was a lovely experience, this time it was the complete opposite. We were greeted at the door by a trainee, who actually didn't verbalise his greeting and then left to wait while he tried to figure out where we were sitting... After checking the reservation he POINTED to an area where our table was supposed to be. So, confused, we went into the restaurant and looked around for our table all the while he was telling us from the front desk which one was wrong or if we were getting close. Would've been nice to have been seated. We then sat down and waited about 10 minutes to be greeted and offered water at the table, he then left and we had to call him over to take a drink order. The door was being left open when anyone went outside and we were freezing! We then ordered a variety of mezze plates. The tzatsiki was delish, and the pulled lamb on crusty pita, however the stuffed calamari was plated up raw, fresh from the markets, we couldn't eat it and when we told the waiter he took it to the kitchen and we never saw it again' until we payed our bill (they demanded we pay for it). We enjoyed some shisha but were neglected outside, they took our heater from us so we were freezing. It finally was enough and called for our bill, no one came. So we went up to the front desk payed and left in a hurry. It was terrible service! This is all I can say. The food we got, bar the seafood was delicious but the service was so terrible I will never go back there. Not happy, 200 dollars NOT well spent.

Kazbah ah-ha. Had a great lunch at Kazbah on a beautiful day. <br/><br/>The service was professional and happily catered to our requests. <br/><br/>Highly recommend the rice porridge and lamb tangine.

The worst! Horrible custom.... The worst! <br/>Horrible customer service- friend got given the wrong food then got told they had nothing to replace with. Manager then told her that she was wrong and that she actually ordered it. She then got charged for the meal.<br/><br/>They ask you for ID upon arrival so we didn't steal from them. <br/><br/>Do not go here.
Jess
Lunch perfection. Went here for lunch last week and was looking for something different and not the McDonaldised Nick's restaurant style of food and ended up here out of curiosity. What can be said but great combination of tastes. Wonderful chicken and great dips. The combination of flavours is wonderful. The service was good and the atmosphere (surroundings and music) is appropriate and generates a sense of calmness.<br/>A hidden gem within the harbourside complex.

AMAZING food & great service! We go back again & again! Highly recommend the French toast!!

Masticated heave on a plate. When you walk into a restaurant you expect a basic transaction to take place, you get food in a timely manner that justifies to some degree the amount of money you paid for it. You also expect the restaurant staff to be semi-organised and the restaurant itself to be an okay place to sit in. Now if you are the type of person that doesn't rate restaurants on frivolous things like food quality and amount, time taken to deliver food, restaurant staff to do basic human things like talking and walking, Kazbah is the place for you! <br/><br/>There are 3 things that Kazbah guarantees:<br/>1) You will not get your food<br/>2) You will not like the food that you don't get<br/>3) You will pay exorbitant amounts of cash for food you did not receive or even like<br/><br/>Going to Kazbah is the equivalent of buying food then paying someone to spit on that food and then paying some more money to put said food in the bin.<br/><br/>You would be better served by going to dinner at Hungry Jacks. At least you are guaranteed some form of sustenance there right?

Kazbah- if that's the Moroccan word for terrible food, then these guys hit the nail so hard on the head that it went right through the timber! A great place to send your worst friend or enemy so they can experience the worst service and food (or should I say lack of food) in restaurant history! Needless to say, after a lengthy wait between what they call meals, we left with disgust and will never make that mistake again! Kazbah you get a -1 in my book!

Tasty. Ok the service wasn't great but the food was awesome.

Service is bad. The French guy spilled beer on us and customers next to us said it happened to them twice as well. He was knocking over glasses the whole time. Also took them half n hour to bring our water to the table and they left us hanging for shisha charcoal refil for 20 mins. The manager seemed like a good bloke though, if only all his staff were as good as him

Not great!. This restaurant is dark and noisy - so dark that people were reading the menu with a torch, but the view of the city lights was nice, and the seating was comfortable. The mezze plate was very tasty, no problems there. The service was also OK. Unfortunately, the main course was a disaster. I chose goat meat. It was served on a small iron plate and the meat had stuck to the plate so that I had to scrape it off with a spoon. The meat was also very tough and quite tasteless, and was covered with a curdled watery sauce. As I was being taken out I did not complain, but I would not go back there again.

I'm so glad we didn't read these reviews before we decided to dine here. The food was incredible, the location was stunning and the service was the best we have had for years. We have eaten at Middle Eastern restaurants across the world and this was up there with the best. I can't eat gluten and was treated as a special guest rather than an annoyance. We cannot rate this restaurant highly enough and wish we could take the fabulous Stuart back home with us!

Great service ... terrible food. We had breakfast here yesterday morning. We'd had breakfast at the Balmain Kazbah the previous day and couldn't stop raving about how gorgeous the food was so couldn't resist another opportunity to eat what we thought would be another gorgeous breakfast. We were really happy with the service, but very disappointed in the food. I had poached eggs with a serve of baby spinach on the side. My husband had the lamb breakfast tagine. My eggs were overcooked - by a long shot - and the spinach was burnt. Presentation was woeful! My meal was so bad that i sent it back - never done that before!!! Needless to say that next time we are looking for a taste of Arabia, we will be heading to the Balmain Kazbah ...

Not my cup of tea. Very pricy as expected for a Harbourside restaraunt and the view is great so I was very excited. My excitement was toned down by their poor wine variety, and the meat platter that we ordered that came out without even a side of salad aside from a lone lettuce leaf, and half of it was cold as if just sitting on the kitchen bench for 20 mins while the rest of the variety was being cooked. When I pointed this out to the waiter, he crossed his arms and curtly offered to reheat it. No thanks. After we decided to not order desert there, our dirty platter, empty wine glasses and dishes sat on the table for over an hour after we ate, and were still there when we paid the bill tithe waiter and left.

Review. My friend and i came here on my last day in Sydney. we didnt have a meal. we came just to have a few drinks. after being ignored in another bar for 20 mins we decided to try this one. upon arrival there were two males at the entrance, one im assuming was the manager, he asked us if we were going to just be coming here for a drink, i assumed that we would be sent away because of how we were treated in the last bar, instead he gave us two vouchers for a free glass of wine. so we went inside, found a seat. the atmosphere was fantastic. good music. and staff were great! super friendly. they played there instruments next to us as we danced, brought as water, and had complimentary food come around every half an hour. We ordered a few cocktails (i highly recommend the Mint Strawberry - tasted amazing) they then had a belly dancer perform. as we left they all said goodbye and waved us off. never find anything like this in Perth! it was a great experience!!

Unique flavors and if you are in the mood for something different for breakfast... Then by all means give it a go. But make sure you have a big appetite as the servings are big and the food bit heavy.
Sophw
Nothing too it. Food was bland and heavy.<br/><br/>Service was slow and inattentive.<br/><br/>Overall price was very high.<br/><br/>Generally I was disappointed to spend this kind of money on a generally uneventful meal.
Debbie
Service was slow and unattentive. My friend and I waited over 20mins before being initially served during a fairly quiet time.
Kate
Terrible service. once seated, we were ignored for at least 20 minutes to order drinks and were only approached as we had to get their attention. The waiter was unfriendly, and unapologetic to the delay. I wish not tipping held more weight in Australia!
