Reantong was recommended to me as one of the best value for money`Thai places in Surry Hills. Located on Devonshire Street just minutes from Central Station, it’s also very easy to get to. Unfortunately, there was loud construction work on the light rail going on outside. Though Reantong Surry Hills has an à la carte menu, the pricing for their rice/noodle and choices are very straightforward and convenient. I opted for the three choices with rice and dined in for a larger serving- a tip from my coworkers!

Had a relatively quick lunch at this Surry Hills Thai eatery to see if it is similar to the one in Pyrmont. <br/><br/>Ordered the Ladna Noodles off the lunch specials menu. Didn't take long for it to be made. The soup was slightly more saltier but overall was still ok but prefer the Pyrmont branch version of this dish. I will try other dishes to see if other dishes are similar in taste if I am around this area again (but won't be rushing back any time soon either).<br/><br/>Service is not as friendly as the Pyrmont branch either.

Went in for a quick stir fry beef with Ginger the food was average I didn't like the fact that the kitchen is hidden who knows what they do behind that wall. My plate arrived not much on it very small serving. The beef was tough as old nails and I had to collect my own meal at the counter. They can't even be bothered to walk less than 2 meters to patrons tables. They changed me $2 for ginger beer then they decided $3.50. I found the staff girls rude and unfriendly I only went here because it's a Sunday and the other places are closed but I won't be coming back to Transala Thai will spend my money at a better venue.

Humble decor should not steer you away, Step Inside and have a meal, then you will realise the potential of this Thai Shop. Never had a bad experience here, the foods were always fresh and good value. You may choose White Rice or Brown Rice as a start. Diners are encouraged to dine in as the servings are generous. :) Love all their food, especially the chilli fish :)

Great small thai takeaway with surprisingly decent food. Recommend the hot bar surprisingly, especially the pork and eggs in dark sauce. Generous servings at very reasonable prices. Pad Thai and Pad See Eew are good options. Curries are a little on the light side but still tasty.<br/><br/>Eat in if possible, dishes are of much higher quality eat in for some reason.<br/><br/>Lunch deals are great w/ can of drink

The cooking taste like home cooking,there is already hot food ready like a food court,and the choices are a little different from your usual Thai place. My 2 choices with rice(a pork dish and green curry),small size for dinner is pretty cheap for $8! You can order from there menu if you want more options. Limited ambience it's small inside and won't fit big groups. Not bad food here
