Review Brooklyn Bridge Deli - Sydney

Another disappointing stop on my search to find a good bagel in Sydney. šŸ„²šŸ„² This was not it. At all. Again, shocked to see that people are praising the bagels here. It was v cheap so I will add a star, but would never return. As of now, Brooklyn boy bagels is the only place thatā€™s gotten it right.

I come here regularly for either the Nashville hot sandwich or the schnitzel sandwich. Both are really good value. Sure, I agree the sandwiches across the arcade are a little better - but for a few bucks less these are barely just behind.

BB have taken Covid cost cutting to the next level by using the worst meat ever! Literally could not bite through my Reuben. Really disappointing as it was my first Reuben in 6 months. Gave these guys a second chance some 2 years since my review and the standard has improved. Ruben was generous, tender and tasty. Averaged out my score to 3 stars.

Good food, however the service and service design dampened the experience. There was only one person taking orders and giving ready ones, at the same spot, during peak hour. If you order online it tells you to skip the queue, but people in the queue (rightfully) get annoyed at those who skip - particularly as it's a cramped space. No one likes to have confrontations with other customers, and this can easily be changed by Brooklyn Bridge Deli. This haphazard system doesn't make for a good experience.

This is my fav sandwich place. Fresh bread, fresh ingredients, and good prices. Best Reubens and Cubans in the city. Go after 1pm to avoid the queue. I hate menus laid out like this though, because I can't see that well from a distance. So I took this pictures. I hope someone finds it helpful. šŸ˜œ

Without a doubt the best gourmet sandwich place in the city!! The bread is amazing! Also very friendly staff and fast service. Great lunch place!

Please stock up on main ingredients on your busiest days, if an item isnā€™t available due to your lack of stock, indicate itā€™s not available on the menu so people donā€™t wait for 10 mins in line. Also, maybe do not play music that contains solely explicit language. This isnā€™t rocket science guys. You have otherwise great products.

Went here hoping for a great Philly Cheese Steak sandwich, but was sadly disappointed with the extremely small portion sizes, especially given the size of the bread. This was essentially a "cheese bread sandwich" with barely any steak, so for $11.50 this is extremely overpriced. The flavours were great, but price wise, it would barely be worth $6, at best, and meat wise, there was barely enough steak to fit one half of the sandwich. This is far from even close to an authentic Philly Cheese Steak. Would not go again, maybe try the Kent St branch which is meant to be far superior.

Social and good service. Decent serving size, as it is quite filling.

The Reuben ~$12.50
Taste: 3.25/5
Value: 3.25/5

Horrid service from the gentleman here. I asked if they did open melt and he just said ā€œnoā€ and greeted the next person.
Had a tandoori sandwich here. The white bread is lovely and fluffy, and the flavours were good, but the chicken was extremely dry which was disappointing. Perhaps the chicken schnitzel would be more forgiving. Don't get any of the grilled chickens.

This place has amazing coffee and a large long black is $2.50! I am also a coffee snob, and have tried so many places in the CBD. I go here everyday now.

Amazing sangas! And so well priced. The produce is really fresh. Not sure why itā€™s rated 1 Star. Definitely a 10/10 any day of the week. Would highly recommend!!

If you're sick of the queues at North Sandwiches, Brooklyn is opposite them in the arcade and has somewhat shorter queues but still good sandwiches. The basic sandwiches are a little cheaper than North ($8-$10) but also a fair bit smaller. The signature range costs $12.50 and, although not very large, they pack in a fair bit of tasty ingredients. My Reuben had great rye bread and the interior was great except for the big chunk of gristle in the beef.
