Review Deck On Bent - Sydney

We went to Deck on Bent prior to going to the comedy club, boy were we in for a laugh. First they missed the drink order and left 2 out of 5 patrons without a drink, no big deal wait another 20 minutes to get that right. 1 hour after ordering we realise that everyone sitting outside had finished and left the place and not only where we still waiting for our food but the place had not been cleaned or waiters\waitresses had even checked up on us. We signal the waitress over and she checks with the cook who says another 7 minutes for our food, 15 minutes later 2 of the 5 meals arrive, HOORAY!! But then once again we were left alone with 2 meals, 10 minutes later a waiter comes over and comically asks us if there is anything else we would like. I nearly choked when the reply was how about the other 3 meals we ordered. Once again the lady comes out and says another 7 minutes. 15 minutes later the other 3 meals arrive. As one of our party starts eating her fried fish (crumbed) she starts coughing and choking as she realises the fried fish is raw in the middle and has not been cooked properly. So far we have sat down for over 1.5 hours, with at least 30 of those minutes in a basically empty restaurant at 7pm on a Saturday night and they couldn't even fry a piece of fish. We complained, had the fish taken off our bill, payed and left. Not before the owner stated the bleeding obvious by telling us "sorry but the chef had some problems with your order", he wasn't bloody wrong!! They forgot about our order, had no idea that we would have liked to all eat together then tried to rush and cover for their mistake. If you want basic things like cutlery\water\service also be prepared to ask for it don't expect it here. But the waitress is really nice and apologised 10 times so that's a plus for a dining experience. Avoid this place if you want a nice meal but the comedy club was a huge laugh, almost as good as this mob.

A group of 25 people and not one meal was delivered as described on the menu. The pork belly was not crispy and the "special sauce" was the water the pumpkin was boiled in, the lamb shanks were boiled and never touched any red wine, the mixed grill came with french onion dip and NOT hommous, the fish came with a sauce that had french onion dip in it - I could continue but I think you get the message - the food is terrible - do not eat here - there are plenty of other lovely places to eat in Fox Studios. To top it all the chef complained to our organiser that too many people were complaining about the food and returning dishes to the kitchen - we are not that fussy when you pay $28 or $29 for a meal you expect it to be cooked by a competent chef and edible.......would have preferred a bag of chips from the convenience store.

Well... What can you say, should have known when we turned up before a comedy show and there was only one table was occupied. Initially girl at counter was very accommodating we were seated outside on the "Deck" and the heater was turned on. I had thought that despite previous reviews I would give it a go. The bruschetta was something that my daughter would have done a better job with, the garlic prawns were severely over done they tasted like rubber S#@t. The manager did come out and ask us how they were, unfortunately I couldn't tell him he truth as we were going to the show with limited time. The mains Barramundi and Moroccan lamb were fair at best. One thing positive was that the drinks were good. Unfortunately I would hesitate to recommend the place to anyone.

If I could put zero stars I would! With two events on (at the Hordern Pavilion & HiFi) plus the movies, you would think putting on more staff would be wise plus maybe doing a strip back version of your menu to make it easier for the chef. We were told to take a seat and menus would be bought out - they weren't. My friend had to go inside to get some, so then we sat for another 10-15 mins... no one came to take our order. So my friend went inside again, only then did we find out you order at the counter. We saw a number of people walk away, even after ordering. Food eventually came out 50-55 mins after ordering - food was bland & cold plus over-priced. Another friend joined us just as we received our meal, we suggested not ordering considering how long it had taken us to get food... but she was told the kitchen was closed at 7.20pm... so she ordered a wine, waitress came back to say, they didn't have that wine, so my friend ordered a Riesling... she never saw that drink. I understand staff can be overwhelmed/run off their feet... but management/owners should know about big events happening at Moore Park & cater for that. But you can't excuse cold & bland food. Big thumbs down!

This place is shocking. I can not believe people around us all felt the same. Waited 45 minutes, just for a Cuppa. Only having 2 staff on a busy Friday night, including Chef. Shocking Deck design out front of Cafe, with a blind Step in the middle of the Platform. Most people trip on this step, even the Waitress, spilling our coffee. Very bad Occupational Health Hazard waiting to happen. Do not waste your Time or money. Very poor experience never to return. Sydney has lots more wonderful Cafes to experience.

It was the only place with spare tables - that should have clued me in. The wait for lunch was way way too long. I wondered if the waiter had neglected to place the order! Perhaps they grew the potatoes to make the chips? My chicken schnitzel was small, overcooked and not well coated. My husbands chicken burger was light on the chicken - and again overdone. They only had chicken nuggets for kids menu - again overdone! Really inflated prices for badly cooked meals and poor service.

We were there on the weekend before the movie. Ordered the Atalantic Salmon, lamb cutlets, a pasta and Cordon bleu. Absolutely loved it. it took a bit longer (about 35 minutes) but understandable as it was busy and there was a football game on. The service was excellent and the food was worth the wait. Definitely coming back.

Absolutely dreadful! Waited 55mins for cold, tasteless food that was over priced. Staff were not trained, asked for wine 3 times and never arrived. Dirty plates and glasses all over the empty tables. Ended up having to go inside and ask for a menu and then order inside as no staff seemed to be capable of taking orders!
