2.5/5 but I'll round to 3. The food was only just acceptable (dry meat, bland veggies), but the worst part was the service. Maybe they don't usually do table service (?) but when we sat down they made it very clear that we were not to go to the bar for service - we then spent most of our afternoon trying to flag them down eg for another bottle of wine, a glass of water, a dessert. Don't think I'd hurry back!

Below average pub meal which was missing seasoning even on the chips.
Do not recommend the octopus entree which tasted and even looked very old. Had just one bite.
Chicken bites were ok and a tab on the dry side while the steak was good but mushroom sauce was a let down.
Staff were super friendly and helpful on a positive note.

This venue was highly recommended by a friend who came here after work on a Friday night. I went on Saturday night and it didn’t have that same buzzing vibe. So I think this venue is better to go to on a Friday night if you are after a lively ambience. The staff were very attentive. I really enjoyed my cocktail. The bar itself has that old school charm which I really like.

We came here because we heard many good recommendations. The first round of drinks were great, however the food was thoroughly disappointing. Tacos, bland. Mash potatoes, dry and lumpy, almost powdery. Ceviche, bland. Pasta had the consistency of noodle soup. Loaded aubergine, so dry. Then we ordered another round of drinks and the exact same cocktails we had tasted completely different. Needless to say, we wouldn’t recommend it to anyone, especially for the price you pay.

Really don't know what is wrong with people leaving bad reviews here for the Sunday roast. I had it last night and wow it was amazing. Everything was well cooked, huge portion size and very tasty!! Il be back 😀

Great experience, had reserved a table for 10 on a busy Saturday, everything was set up nicely when arrived. Awesome cocktails and food. Great open roof setting and Friendly knowledgeable staff, especially the manager Carla who made us all feel super welcome. See you soon Tilly May’s

Today I was slightly blown away by the level of service at Tilly Mays. A year ago I had my 40th Birthday booked here however needed to cancel due to Covid. Instead of losing my deposit, they kept this open as a credit.
Today I used this, at least 1 year on from the cancellation for another family members birthday. Not only was it great food and a fantastic atmosphere, the staff were super friendly and ensured that we walked away with the full value of our credit/ gift voucher.
It's hard to get this level of customer care. I will certainly recommend this venue for events, easy to deal with, flexible, friendly and professional staff.
I will be back!
