Review Sushi Tabl - Sydney

This is one of our favourite Japanese restaurants at West Ryde. Their sushi is always fresh. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Wide selections of dishes available and they offer lunch special too. Today I tried their katsu chicken curry and I really enjoyed it. The portion is quite generous too, as you can see. I always have a great experience coming here.

Came here for dinner on a Wednesday night. We had to make reservation as it's a pretty busy place with limited tables with a limit of 1.5 hours seating. We ordered the sushi and sashimi set, agedashi tofu, veg tempura, grill salmon sushi, chicken karaage curry, nagasaki nabe, soft shell crab sushi rolls and teriyaki chicken sushi rolls. Always love their sushi and sashimi set - pretty fresh. The rest of the food was good too. The only negative this time is that they didn't serve water to everyone of us (seems like they forgot). There were 6 of us so serving a bottle of water would be the best option. Other than that, we did enjoy the food.

Forgot to take photos of the food besides the sushi and sashimi but overall was quite pleased with our experience. The staff were friendly and were able to cater for our larger number and the food itself was of good quality. They were presented well and also tasted nice.

Having a pregnant wife we didn’t try their sushi but we did have the pork Katsu and we found the pork cutlet thin and dry. The breadcrumb on the karaage chicken and tempura vegetable was over fried. The 8 pieces of mixed vegetables consist of 4 pumpkin and 4 sweet potatoes which didn’t seem very mixed. The pork katsu at Tatsuya around the corner is better.

Dined at sushi table on a Saturday night. Coming from a Japanese background I was very impressed with the quality of fish and sushi. We ordered 2 large platters, tempura and rounds of drinks for the 4 of us - the serving size was plenty and generous. The service was very inviting and they were attentive to our needs. 100% will be back, it was so refreshing to go to a restaurant with such authentic service. Thank you!

Quality take away Japanese with reasonable price. Love the new management and their lunch special and chief is good at making sushi especially.

Reservation is recommended on weekend. Customers can only sit at the bar in front of the sushi train when no table is available. Had Soft Shell Salad, Hokkaido Roll, Sashimi and a dish from the sushi train. Food were good.

This is Korean style sushi. Too much Mayo source on sushi roll and grilled nigiri and the rice is not real sushi rice. The ramen noodle is not traditional and the soup base is a bit complicated. The chef played with the phone with the gloves on and ate in front of us behind the bar.
It's definitely no Moeru.

Dinner here a few times, tonight because w couldn't get a booking at Moeru.

The slices of fish on their nigiri is smaller then Moeru.

Though the sashimi platter was presented nicely, portion was still quite small considering the price.

The sushi rolls are tasty, our chicken katsu wasn't fried crunchy enough, the yakisoba was quite salty and had too much sauce.

For a Sunday night, this restaurant was pretty much empty.

It's not a bad tasting Japanese restaurant, it just doesn't beat value, taste and consistency of Moeru.

Pleasantly surprised by the ambience of the restaurant and the food quality. The sashimi were really fresh and the portion of the food was generous. Nice hidden gem tucked away in West Ryde.

Beautiful decor and environment. Sushi is mediocre but their noodle and rice dishes are amazing. I feel it is a little pricey for their dishes but still a good experience.

Checked out this new Japanese restaurant in West Ryde on the weekend. Love the decor, nice ambiance. We had the tonkatsu ramen and karaage chicken udon. Came out quite quick tasted good. Will be back to try other items!

Came across this place by accident when trying to find parking, but glad that we did! The seafood in the Nagasaki ramen were generous, and the beef bento did not disappoint either. The service were good also, polite and attentive. Will likely be back for more.

We ordered the mille feuille hotpot which was good to eat on a cold day. I don't understand how they packed so much meat and cabbage. It was too much for 2 people so this would be good to order if you're very hungry.

2nd visit

We tried the sushi and wow the salmon nigiri was so fresh. It was so fresh I wanted to have another serving! Usually at sushi trains I avoid getting the same dish twice.
We felt like trying something interesting and tried the icecream tempura. Unfortunately it was not worth it at all. The tempura wasn't crispy and was served and chocolate and strawberry sauce. Nothing exciting about it unfortunately.

Absolutely beautiful.
Ordered the medium sushi and sashimi platter- the fish was great quality, no fishy scent or taste, good fish and rice ratio and was great value.
Had a salmon roll which was absolutely delicious as well as the alburi scallop nigiri which was divine!
The beef tataki was so fresh and well seasoned. The udon wasn't too sweet and was a really authentic flavour/ stock.
Highly recommend! All that and drinks for $113 for two of us but we did splurge! Next time we would love to sit at the sushi train and just have sushi varieties.
Presentation and service is great also.

Unassuming and hidden at the back of Victoria Road lies this little gem--a great Japanese option in the area when the others are so difficult to get into. The sashimi was fresh arriving on a platter complete with dry ice; the tempura was excellent too; while the service was better than usual as well. I hope this continues as often when new restaurants settle in small things that made the venue enticing in first place get overlooked.

Was really impressed with their food and service! I had the karaage chicken don which was beyond perfect.. It was actually one of the best karaage dons i’ve tried. The sashimi was also really fresh and also their ramen!!! I had the nagasaki ramen which tasted as good as it smelt. Definitely a must try if you are in this area!
