Review Preachers - Hobart

Very good burgers and very good chips. Definitely up there in top 10 burgers we've had (and we've had a lot). Local beer and cider were very good too. Good vibe, friendly staff. We had the $25 classic burger and local beer lunch deal

This place had an amazing range of fantastic beers and the burger and loaded fries are just sublime. If you love your sour beers this place is a must visit.

Best burger and Buffalo Wings! The ranch and blue cheese sauce was also delicious. Wish I could’ve visited more than once.

Amazing burgers! I went with a group and everyone loved what they ordered, the outside seating and even the bus makes eating here very enjoyable. Definitely recommend 😁

I'm always a fan of a good beer garden, and this place didn't disappoint. Even though it's a bit chilly out, we felt comfortable here, with numerous outdoor fireplaces and gas heaters. Even better was the outstanding range of craft beer, from local and overseas. Great range of on tap craft, and the fridge had even more. A lot of beers from left field too. The food was also amazing, we had a fried chicken burger, and a cheeseburger, and both were amazing. Chips (fries) were great too.

Great beer, beer garden and food. Delicious and fresh ingredients always make the best burger and this cheeseburger didn’t disappoint. Knowledgeable staff helping with the beer selections and free tasting. Thanks

Lovely bar! Such a vibe. The outdoor area is great and they have plenty of heaters so don’t let winter stop you from getting out in the beer garden. Also the burgers and smaller selection were great! I Highly recommend it.

This place has an awesome vibe. Staff are friendly. Quick service. Food quality is pretty good and drinks are reasonably priced. Plenty of outdoor and indoor seating options. Can be a bit cold outside during the winter but overall a nice place and I liked it 👍

Oh man! My favourite!

Fantastic place, the burger, and the Philly steak sandwich was super delicious, not to mention their incredible selection of hot sauces. The place was warm and cozy, and the outdoor area with a cute school bus you can sit in, would definitely want to revisit.

Can’t speak much about the night life vibe here as we visited during the day to try out the burgers. The decor was very casual and offered a variety of different nooks and crannies to enjoy your stay, including a re-fitted, out of commission bus. We sat on couches near their indoor fireplace, which was perfect for the cold day. We ordered a beef patty burger and a Philly cheese steak. They were both great, but the philly cheese steak was especially good. Took me back to when I was young and visited philly! They also offer a large variety of standard and spicy sauces, including my favourite, Franks 👌 would definitely re visit next time I’m in Hobart.

I always return to Preachers when in Hobart. Tasting beers and playing uno with mates under the heaters and in the bus was super cute - the pork belly loaded fries and the deep fried cauliflower are pretty pretty pretty good. Lovely staff - open fires inside.. and the vegie burger is killer. Go here.

I went for drinks and card games evening to celebrate friends birthday.

The place had a homely feel (probably converted from a town house to a cool pub) and the staff was really friendly and chilled out.

I ordered Raspberry Sparkling Drink (non-alcoholic) along with battered fries and in house spicy nuts.

5 points because of the staff, place and the atmosphere.

From the moment you walk in, you are hit with the perfect chill vibes of battery point.
Great range of drinks, paired with a better knowledge of the suppliers by the staff. Happy with the food. My wife and I ordered ‘the cheese’ and ‘ the beef’. Bursting with flavours helped by the local mustard (the bun could be mildly softer for my liking) the beer battered chips were as crisp as a Tassie morning. Great place for a low key lunch, or a night of fine drinking.

Great spot close to Salamanca Wharf for drinks (and looks like food too- although I didn’t try any). I loved the outside beer garden, ample seating with heaters and a great old bus that you can sit in! How cool!

Came here last night and had a mulled wine- was great and I enjoyed sipping it outside in the garden despite it being 8 degrees- as the heaters worked a charm!

Veggie burger was great but meat patty was very dry. We like the bus. Will come back for the bus not for the patty!!! The chips are AMAZING though and the aioli!! XOXO swedish Vikings

Very tasty burgers (juicy medium rare burger patties were perfect) and beer battered chips! The staff were very friendly and the place was warm and cosy. Great music and vibe... high recommended for an easy chilled out evening!

I didn't try the food but so far as craft beer pubs in the English tradition go, it is right up there. Decided to stick to the Tasmanian beers and I was not disappointed.

Really great pub near Samalmanca. Great outdoor area and has extensive beer selection. I am not a burger person but loved the burgers. Perfect place tp catch up w friends

An old broken down bus with remodelled seats, picnic tables, dogs running all over the place, and a nice seating area on the inside- this just took the concept of a watering hole and threw it out the window. One of the best burgers I've ever had, made from Tasmanian beef, and the Mushroom Tempura with the dip were just some of the heavenly things they had to offer. Plus, a great selection of beers on tap wash down that tasty burger. Need I say more?

Amazing burgers and selection of craft beers. One of the coolest beer gardens I've seen. Great vibe also. My favourite bar in Hobart, couldn't recommend highly enough.

Best burgers & local beers in Hobart! Wonderful knowledgeable staff. Great vibe in an old pub. Super outdoor area, too. Preachers is just down from Salamanca Place. It's the best pub in Australia!

In summary, burgers were nice and cool venue but we waited a long time for two burgers, bar staff weren't friendly and no wait staff inside. Good place to go for a drink but it's Hipster central!

Great venue.Pleasing range of drinks.Food delicious and delivered in a timely manner BUT for one strange and disappointing detail. Unlike anywhere else experienced, the lamb kofte came simply as greasy balls of delicious spiced meat with just a tiny tub of tzatziki. No bread, not even a tooth pick or a serviette to eat with. Surely a few small slices off a French stick wouldn't have broken the budget. Other food such as crispy chicken burger came as expected, with a suitable quantity of salad inside the bread and just the right amount of chips.

Waited an hour and a half for a burger. The menu is pretty much just burgers so you'd think they know the recipe by now. Got a refund and left hungry. Very disappointed as the venue is a nice spot on a Friday afternoon.

Great selection of craft beers, varying in style and flavour! Decent cocktails too. Cool outdoor area not much undercover though, so bad if it's raining.
People inside were playing board games. Lots of fun.

We dropped by twice (on our way to and from dinner). Preachers has a great vibe, cold beer and cider on tap and wonderful jazz and blues music piping through the venue. Worth a visit for an afternoon brew or late night tipple. Highly recommend.
Barley And Hops
Cool craft beer establishment tucked away in a side street. Beer garden is cool and i especially enjoyed getting out of the cold in the old bus having a black IPA. Didn't try the food but would recommend for the atmosphere and the beer.

Great spot for delicious burgers situated in a quirky cottage like establishment. Dining either in or al fresco in a beer garden, fit with both bean bags and a old bus for comfort if you so choose, the atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. Food was excellent and brought out timely considering how packed the place was.

I can see why this place is popular: great beer garden, converted bus, good selection of beers etc I wouldn't have stumbled on Preachers if I wasn't staying in Battery Point, I went there for a solo meal. I had a beef burger, which was pricey and not that great- it was too undercooked for my liking and the chips were cold. Plus it came in a cardboard tray. At least my Tassie cider was great.
Tyce Arnol
Good venue with a great beer selection! The beer garden has a very relaxed atmosphere for a Sunday session! Can't wait for cold beers during the summer!
Leuke Marriott
Always a great selection of beers on tap here, and they're constantly changing it up. There a much more relaxed atmosphere than most of the joints around Salamanca which makes it a popular place for locals, but shouldn't be missed by tourists. Food is consistently good pub food and pretty reasonably priced.

You could easily get confused and think you were on brunswick st in melbourne. This place is just plain cool.

Rude security at door. Last night 3 mates and myself went to preachers at 11pm on arrival we got told by the security at the door that we are not allowed in as last drinks wil be at 12 ??? It was 11pm ??
We then asked the bully at the door why we where not allowed in when clearly it was only 11pm
His response to us was atrocious told us to stuff off
Well done preachers fantastic customer service
My mates and I have been going there for almost 2 years at least once a week
We have atleast 3 rounds at around 36-45 dollars a round
Do the the maths preachers
Ps we are not young drunken teenagers but Middle aged business men here in hobart will think twice going back there again

Berg Burger. Best burger in Tasmania!!

Great outdoor pub. Such a fun bar to sit out in the sun or in the converted bus. Came here with a local or else I wouldn't have known it existed as it's a couple of streets back from the main Salamanca bar strip. This pub is nice and relaxed with some tapas and burgers on the menu. We just shared some pork dumplings and chips which were served with sour cream and chilli sauce. Both were tasty.

I love Preachers - it's an eclectic mix between boutique and hipster. It's totally cool but it's also fully relaxed which is quite a skill to balance. Grab a beer from their old school pub.
