Review Villino - Hobart

We enjoyed a great flat white here. The flavours of the coffee were spot on & presentation was perfect. Very good service too

Use to visit semi-regularly with sub-par service outside. Just to be sure I went in asked if there was table service outside. The person said something of the order “sometimes” - which confused me to no end. So I paid for a coffee, that I didn’t drink, and walked away.

Villino used to be my regular place to get coffee at least a couple of times a week. I came back recently so I decided to give a review. Villino is located quite central in the CBD and in an area surrounded by good cafes. It's just off Liverpool st and very close to the Hobart Central Carpark. There are four or five tables outside and about the same inside. There is a table by the kitchen where you can charge and do some work if you need. I ordered the large latte. It was a very well made one with a clear and distinct art. The latte art degradation test was looking good until it reached around the halfway line before completely disintegrating. This means that the coffee bitter taste wasn't masked with the foam. I align a good barista as someone being able to still have coffee art until the final sip for a latte and until half way for a flat white. This may have been because I went during the Xmas period so their full time staff weren't there. Andy makes the best coffee and I probably would had normally kept walking if I didn't see him inside, but it was during the Xmas period so I can't be too picky on that day. Villino allows you use AMEX to pay but there appears to be a surcharge which makes it less competitive compared to the other cafes. Water is also self service which I believe should be something that's served along with the coffee as it makes people thirsty. Overall the coffee was decent although in comparison with so many cafes such as Dandy Lane or Pot Cafe etc, it's fallen slightly short. I get served with water at the other cafes too. I would suggest serving water and removing the credit card surcharge to be competitive.

An awesome long black, lovely service and, quite randomly, even some sick merch artwork. Just disappointing that I only discovered them on the day I left.

On a recent visut to Hobart, I enjoyed a couple of superb long black, single origins one made with beans from Honduras, the other Etheopian, matched with a perfect croissant. I was very happy to be back in the very special cafe. Excellent customer service & very comfortable place to read or write.

Great shop offering batch brew, espresso, pour over, pastries, and milk based drinks. Great service, attentive staff, minimalist interior and high quality coffee.

Can't be beaten for best coffee in Hobart. We use them in our cafe and they rate highly up there with some of Melbourne's greatest!

Wow!! I just tasted your Kenyan AA single origin at Dovetail on Overend (Brisbane!!) and it is just beyond compare. Amazing bean, and your roasting style really brings out those beautiful clean flavour notes. Well done, you guys are truly up there with the best roasters, anywhere!!

I managed to try the Villino roasted coffee at the airport. And only because the barista there was super accommodating (thank you). And the coffee is superb. If only the staff at the city outlet were as accommodating instead of flatly telling me to come back the next day. I travelled from Singapore and I thought I would finally get to taste this renowned coffee before departing Tasmania in the evening. Now I know that I was rightly disappointed when I had the door shut in my face.

Online sales experience has blown me away. I order beans online at 12:00 am yesterday. Delivered at my door 8:30 this morning (Wollongong NSW). Outstanding. The Columbia E lFaldon is amazing. 4 down today already.

I love these guys. When they pull shots rainbows come out of their Synesso! Rainbows!! The espresso hits your taste buds like Chuck Norris, it gallops down your oesophagus like a unicorn strapped to a rocket. You go in a stranger and come out with new friends, and not just Facebook friends, actual friends. People who help you move your furniture, those kinds of friends. Best espresso in Hobart, best haircuts, best smiles, go there today.
