A brilliant range of beers on tap paired with great service. Then after the beers a great range of distilled spirits available. Combined with great food you will not find better in Hobart.

Had such a great time at Shambles! We tried a couple of their tasting paddles, guzzled down the mulled cider and enjoyed a few pints with popcorn chicken snacks on the side. Such a great location with modern decor, friendly atmosphere and great service. Highly recommend!

5 stars for the beer selection. If you don't know Shambles beer you should. Good food: big serves of tempura veg and popcorn chicken. Enjoyed the buffalo wings and the burgers looked great. Minus 1/2 star for a lack of atmosphere, although function area looks great. Anyway... the beer! Best Brewery in TAS if you ask me.

Only attended for the beer, did not have any food on this occasion. I love craft beer and attend breweries to try "left field" offerings and beers that you can't get at the bottle shops. This brewery only seemed to have one "special" brew; the rest seemed to be core range, which was a bit disappointing. Overall the beers were nice and it was a good venue.

First up; the beer is good. Definitely drop by for a beer. Avoid the food! Stopped by during the week and was treated to the worst burger I’ve had in my life. The cheeseburger was served up on a supermarket “Tip Top” hamburger bun, doused with excessive mustard and tomato sauce. Looking at other pictures here, it seems the tip top bun is not usually served. I wish they told me when I paid close to 20 bucks for a burger that they didn’t have proper buns. The result was tearing off a third of the bun as it was too big for the pattie. A sloppy, saucy mess of soggy bread was left on the plate. I let old mate know it was awful, which was met by “sorry mate”. Surely whoever was in the kitchen knew that they had served up garbage.
Plenty of great joints to eat in Hobart, this isn’t one of them. Waste of money.

Best burger in Hobart! So tasty, great pub food and excellent beers to accompany!! The chips are also to die for! I had the veggie burger and chicken burger, both amazing. Would recommend session ale or American ale!!

Definitely worth a visit if you're into craft beers and a casual brewery vibe. Staff were knowledgable and provided good recommendations. They also have a selection of board games you can play.

Amazing people brewing beer the way it should be, with science and passion. Beer was the best I've tasted in Tasmanian and every single one was quality. Not a bad beer in the bunch. Can't recommend highly enough

Stumbled upon this place with my partner while wandering down the road for dinner during a recent holiday in Hobart. Great setting, beer range was awesome, wine was yum and had a couple of burgers that were delicious! The bathrooms were cool and the space out the back looked like a fun venue for events. Loved it!

We had our engagement party in the space out the back and it was perfect. The staff were so accommodating. We were allowed to decorate it however we wanted to, bring our own cake in and the food was amazing! Thank you for making our event so stress-free.

My partner and I staged a surprise wedding at Shambles on the 12th August 2017. We cannot provide anything but positive feedback from everyone we worked with at Shambles to make this night happen. They made sure everything ran so smoothly, changed the menu for us slightly and provided the most professional service the whole night. Was the perfect location for our wedding and we cannot recommend them highly enough.

Very good beer and exceptional food. Highly recommended. The temperature could have been a couple of degrees warmer and the screeching rock could definitely be more mellow but what they serve makes it worth enduring these things to savourvwhat they serve. We'll go again and hope it is hitting its stride.
