One of best pubs where you can swing by to moisten dried throat at Salamanca street, Hobart.
Staffs were very friendly, professional, welcoming with smiles! Even gave me a chance to sip for tasting a local tap beer that I was hesitant to order due to no experience before.
This experience made me a big impression and feel confident to challenge myself to order more and more. Much appreciated for such a kindness.
Will come back for this pub!!

Walked in and it was all quiet like the pub in Ripping Yarns... But boy the food was great. The Pork Steak was fantastic and really juicy. The wife had the Irish Parmy and it was very nice too. Topped it off with a Malted Lagoon Red Ale. Very nice. Staff were very pleasant too. We taught each other about Shandy's.

Attended for dinner as we were looking for something simple and easy to eat. Standard pub decor, somewhat dated but not to it's detriment. Staff friendly, and the spicy parmigiana was delicious. Beer range not too bad, will return. Good for a simple feed and a beer.

What a great place!! Called in to watch the game, had a few drinks and most importantly the husband loved the Guinness!! Said it was the best pint in Australia so far!!! (We've been here 2 years from UK). Thanks for the warm welcome đ

The best pub I've ever been to in Oz. Reminds me of some of the pubs in the UK. We had dinner at Irish Murphs's last night ... baked brie followed by the Irish croquettes, washed down with a mulled cider. Truelly a meal to die for... 10/10 Irish Murphy's... we'll be back!

Very disappointed with this pub. We visited in the evening and nobody stopped us and then when we tried visiting at night same day, they said they canât let us in because my partner was wearing casuals (slippers and shorts). I saw a lady wearing slippers sitting in the same bar same time. Donât understand this discrimination. Would love to their point of view.

If you visit Hobart without absorbing Salamanca Place, did it actually happen? And whatâs better absorbed (for yourself & your arteries) than hot buttered rum: itâs like a hug from the inside out. Here you even get to select your rum of choice so duh obviously we released the Kraken. Mmmm spicy.<br/><br/>Round two & settling in, we need food. Calamari w thai salad was nicely done - not at all oily & the herbs & nam jim brought the sass. Seasoned chips w gravy dead-set rocked. While not fancy it was still a damn fine, well priced pub meal with great service at a fab location. <br/><br/>For us this is a solid venue that always delivers. Soak it up.

Decent pub grub. We ate here twice on our visit to Tassie. Beef and Guinness pie and the next time, we had the Sunday roast. The roast was beautiful. The pie....nice but not wow. A bit overpriced but then again, most places in Hobart are. The staff were just lovely. Lovely wines on offer but again, overpriced. $8 for a small glass of wine when you can actually purchase the entire bottle for $7.95 @ Dan Murphys and $11 for a pint.

For a pub I wasn't expecting that much, however, I was pleasantly surprised. <br/><br/>We got cheesy garlic bread, Irish croquettes, and squid to share; I got the lamb ribs and hubs got the duck snags. <br/><br/>Everything was tasty.

We were the only people in the pub, however it was around 9pm on a Sunday night and the service didn't disappoint. Delicious food, friendly staff, footy on the TV and good tunes.

Our first dinner stop in Hobart. And what a way to start!! Ordered the surf n turf special and it was possibly the best variant of this we've ever come across - especially for $20!!! The steak was cooked perfectly and seasoned with something entirely delicious. On top of that the calamari and prawns were spot on, the chips were great and the salad, despite having no tomatoes in it was really nice too. <br/>Location was great, atmosphere good and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Oh and being in Tasmania of course we had to have a Cascade beer - the mountain ale was tops! Definitely will come back to this one.

Only had drinks never dined in. But the perfect guiness...nice ambiance as well as waitress!definitely must try for a guiness lover!sometimes there's also a pretty decent live music act.

Nice place I hobart been here but not tried any of its food as it was late in night so only had some drinks with my friends but service was really good this place is crowded most of the times as this is open late in the night

One of the worst meals I have ever had. I wasn't expecting gourmet but I thought there would be some flavour. Beef and guineas pie with meat and brown flavourless goo served with some potato sauce thing and basically it - $20? Seriously? Mushroom risotto with no taste, seriously no taste. Definetly no stock or cheese used. <br/>Don't waste your money here. Horrible, just horrible.

Not so good. Spaghetti marina tasted like canned meat sauce with seafood mixed in, couldnt taste the seafood. My partners parmigiana was small, looked unappetizing and tasted strange. Staff looked at us like we were weird for asking for a table for 2, instead of just grabbing one and sitting at it.

Sunday lunch. We went for a casual lunch on a Sunday for a reasonably priced pub meal I had Guinness pie my friends had Irish stew and fish of the day.<br/>To describe this as the worst pub food is an understatement as it was so bad I even asked if there was a cook or chef in the kitchen only to be told there were two apprentices at work<br/>I recommend that you avoid this overpriced rubbish

Pithy-sized Parma and veggie lasagne for extortion-worthy prices ($21 and $20 respectively). Garbage atmosphere and dull staff. Whoever's in charge best think twice about charging fifty cents for condiments when customers have already forked over so much cash for laughably minuscule portions. Miserly and shabby, avoid at all costs.

Very slow for food to arrive. Bar staff rude and incompetent - wouldn't print out a receipt for us and couldn't get our order right.
