Review Maharaja Authentic Indian Restaurant

This is a good Indian restaurant in Hobart. We ordered Naan and Butter Chicken. Food was tasty, authentic and yummy. We had take away. Ordered the food over the phone and was ready on time. This restaurant is on the first floor of the building. On street parking is available and may be hard to find one during the busy times. Not sure about any dine in experience.

Amazing food, we had the individual feast, it took a while to get there, and the staff didn’t really understand us that well when we asked for plates but apart from that I’d recommend.

Sooo good! The chicken in all of our dishes was the best chicken I’ve ever had! Cooked to perfection. Sauces were amazing too. Staff were lovely and the atmosphere was nice! Will be going back for sure!

Living in Hobart since 2018, not sure why I missed this restaurant. We ordered takeaway food for a small birthday party last weekend. First of all, they made the food ready in just n hour, and All food was delicious, especially my favourite malai kofta and Amritsari kulcha. I highly recommend it if you’re after, top of the quality Indian food flavours.

Best Indian ive ever eaten. Although we waited over 40 mins for our meal it was worth the wait...Freshly cooked original Indian food. Staff very attentive, it was a little busy though noone seemed in a hurry.. very comfortable and relaxing vibe..

Very bad services, complet waste of money food is very very bad, we ordered 2 different curry 1 veg and chicken both tasted same. Ordered Briyani we were served rice mixed with curry and also had same taste. They try to fool customers by mixing rice n curry and serve as Briyani. Any1 could clearly understand they had just 1 base curry used for all dishes. I would not at all recommend this restaurant its just waste of time and money

Love the food here however i have finally cracked with the long period of waiting time. First time i got a take away from here they told me food would be ready in 30, we went in and the restaurant was nearly empty however we had to wait another 20 minutes to get the food. From then on we learned a lesson and started providing 45 minutes for the food. Besides this we STILL have to wait additional 10-15 minutes. Today i ordered at 4:45, 4 naan, it takes about 5 min each naan and i said we will pick it up after 5:30 my partner still had to wait. The food is amazing, i love chicken tikka masala and butter naans are amazing however hate the wait. When i called to complain and ask for the future how much time should i provide the rude lady said "he has the naan now what else do you want?" I recommend your food so much and coming from an indian people take those recommendations seriously! Sadly i will now be looking for a new place which is not rude and doesnt faf around especially when the restaurant is empty.

I loved it, the food was fabulous the service was excellent. The food was placed on the table as the wait staff described the dishes. They made our night ine to remember fondly. I cannot complain about anything. I will certainly be returning.

Even though the entre and chicken korma was good what disappointed me was the extreme wait for the food. The chicken biryani was well below average and customer service was very poor.
