Review Kwan Ho Restaurant - Hobart

Such a lovely place to have our first dinner in Hobart! We were quite surprised given it’s located in the casino but the service was impeccable and the food was delicious. The banquet was the perfect choice to try a variety of dishes! The eye fillet and salt and pepper squid were the best and the fried ice cream a tasty finish!

Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely restaurant in Wrest Point Hobart . The service is unmatched, our waiter Kwan ( AKA Karen) was lovely, she truly cared about our experience. The food is absolutely amazing – everything we tasted melted in our mouths. Absolutely on of the best meals we have had in awhile, Highly recommend!

Beautiful food, great service and a view to die for. If you want to feel a little bit special, do yourself a favour and dine in at Kwan Ho resteraunt at Wrest Point. We couldn't wait to taste our meals, so they're not looking as pretty as they did when they first arrived, but believe me they were delicious.

Food is delicious and the the view is stunning. The staff are absolutely amazing too, such a friendly bunch. I can't understand why people would go to the bistro for a basic schnitzel and chips when the food here is so good.

If you are looking for a very nice Chinese restaurant, please Visit Kwan Ho. Their service is top notch. The staffs are very attentive and detailed. Their food is so delicious. They also cater for individual taste and allergies. Most importantly, if you are looking for a nice place for a birthday dinner or lunch. I recommend them. They have a special dinning room for group reservations. That way you can enjoy the company of your family and friends without minding if you are disturbing other customers.

Authentic combination of Cantonese and Sichuan Chinese. I like the fact that it has Sichuan dishes rather than just Cantonese. The fish in Sichuan chilli oil was really good. The service, ambiance and wine list was also good.

I had moderate expectations of Kwan Ho going by some of the other reviews. However, I think the restaurant is currently a little underrated. Our party of five agreed that this is a pretty impressive Chinese restaurant. It ticks a lot of boxes. The set out and decor is pleasant. Service from a number of servers tonight was quick, attentive and polite as well.

We had a good range of dishes for entree and main. Every one of them had their virtues and there wasn’t one we felt was lacking. It was a good sample. Oysters, scallops, spring rolls, beef, pork belly, crispy skin chicken, fish, seasonal vegetables and fried rice were among the dishes we tried. They were all mighty tasty. The ingredients were fresh and good quality. The cooking and presentation were very good. The wine list was good. Overall cost was modest we thought for the quality of the meal.

All in all a good experience. Kwan Ho is recommended.

Absolutely loved Kwan Ho. The service was impeccable, the views were amazing and couldn’t fault the food. We had the classic banquet, which was reasonably priced and included a lot of dishes.

Booked a table of eight last minute for a birthday meal.basically because most restaurants in Hobart were closed on Monday January 1st (go figure), turned out to be a pretty good 5th or 6th choice ( unfortunately we didn’t get a great table but understandable under the circumstances)the main dining area has great views over the Derwent so ask when booking, after settling down with some nice beverages from an extensive drinks menu our group opted for the Classic Banquet ( $60.00 per person )From start to finish all plates were spot on and thoroughly enjoyed, the service was unobtrusive and efficient and the timing just so,
Will definitely return

As I did a walk in without a reservation, I was unable to get a seat by the windows which overlooked the tasman sea. Would recommend making a booking in advance if you’d like that. Food wise they were pretty decent, nothing exceptional that stood out.
