Review Rendezvous Lounge Cafe - Hobart

I actually prefer to grab a table and order and pay for food at the counter, so I immediately liked this cafe. I ordered and was given my number to sit back at our table. The food arrived very quickly. The orders were all filled perfectly. The fruit components were very fresh and generous. The coffee was perfectly delicious and made with obvious skill. The milkshake was presented in an old style glass milk bottle which was a unique touch. The service was efficient and the staff were polite and friendly. Will visit again.

We came here because it was a public holiday & there wasn’t much open. The food was average- not bad not great. I couldn’t actually hear my Partner speaking to me over the sound of the Manager barking orders at her young staff. They had to provide us with a refund as they’d charged something completely random onto the bill. I thought Id also note the huge spray bottles of sanitiser on each table…

Food was fine. The menu had too many options - was multiple pages in a book with small print. Weird spray bottles on every table. The free water was served in these disgusting looking plastic cups. Place was crammed with cheap plastic tables that you stuck to even when clean. Heard some arguing in the back - think they have a high turnover of staff as the waitresses weren't very experienced. If you're thinking about working here don't bother - seems like a terrible environment. Cut down the menu, buy some glass glasses, get rid of the spray bottles on the tables, and get some nicer tables.

Called in for a quick lunch and rendezvous. Extensive menu was just visually a bit too much to read easily. That being said, there was a good variety of options for any and all diners. 15 minute turn around on three cooked meals was quite reasonable. Food was well presented and pleasant. Would recommend for a quick and simple catch up option.

Food was fine. Staff weren’t friendly. I ordered toasted sourdough, expecting a home-made bread, or at least something that looked like it was from the coles deli isle. I was served something that resembled sliced white bread drowned in butter. I asked the waiter if I could talk to the manager, as I was confused about this. The manager came out and spoke to me condescendingly, lecturing me about how this IS sourdough, and about how I was wrong. I am not returning to this cafe. Disgusting behaviour.

Absolutely terrible. The table was not wiped down despite it not being busy and there being 6-7 people standing around behind the counter. That being said, I don’t think there was a leader around, they were friendly, but inexperienced. The food came out and there was a hair on my toast. I’m pregnant and I need to be careful not to eat unhygienic food as it may harm my unborn baby, but they were not helpful, just took the bit of toast and offered another piece. I instead was not able to finish my food and still paid full price. My partner also noticed a cockroach on the floor. Very upsetting.

We walked on for breakfast and tge room was vol. No significant heating at all. Tables were that crammed in that there is no way ymtge wait staff could pass food to customers. One customer had to get out of his seat to allow us to leave at the end of the meal. There were 5 of us at the table and they couldn't even get our coffee order right. 2 of us were given our cappuccinos in what we thought were large cups, so accepted them. 3 mi it's later they came with large mugs for us. Whilst we were eating and chatting, there were two staff buying up a new table using drills to tighten the screws. This was di inappropriate during service time. The table had to be moved to allow other customers into the upper dining area. The staff building it were not even apprentices about the process. The food was of an average standard as well, so overall it was a disappointing experience and I will not be back. This cramming of tables is inexcusable in covid times shape up or close up

I'd like to give more stars but unfortunately management (I presume) has let that down. 5 stars for the young girls working their butts off whilst coping an absolute ear full from the older blonde woman. Food is great as always, but feel this will be our last time visiting due to the down right rudeness and constant belittling of the staff from their "manager"
