Review Doctor Coffee - Hobart

Will go again.I only popped in to get take-away Chai Late, but I was struck by how friendly the service was. The Chai late was wonderful too! And very well priced.

Literally walked across the waterfront every morning to get coffee here because the closest places to our hotel had suboptimal coffee. Cold brew hit the spot and the latte art was a treat. The boys running the counter were always friendly and informative.

Best mocha I have had in a long time

I love the flat white, cream, rose, strawberry flavours

You're having a bad day, you just got fired from your 9-5, you head down to Dr Coffee. There's Nick and his crew, they know you, not by your name but by your cup. They make you your regular without you having to ask. You sit for a while, drink in the coffee and the atmosphere. And for at least a moment you feel like everything might just be ok. There is honestly no other coffee shop I will go to. None worth the time. Dr Coffee for life. Love your work boys. Never stop doing you.

Terrible service. Terrible food- ordered bacon and poached eggs on sour dough toast with butter and tomato relish. Out came the most ridiculous appropriation of food.. first time staff bought food out we got some dry supermarket toast with no butter in sight, a single eye of bacon barely cooked and a poached egg on top that was so overdone there was no yoak...and to top it off it was served in a bowl!!! We complained and the staff bought back the same bowl but added a sache of butter and some tomato relish on top (were they hoping we didn't notice it missing the first time). By this point the food was practically cold and we definitely did not eat it. This restaurant gives Tasmania a bad reputation.

Great food and coffee with good service

The staffs here are friendly. We were in need of WiFi and they were kind enough to let us continue using it despite closing soon. The coffee is great too.
Lyn Kumpulainen
Great coffe, best place in town for gluten free food... especially the pies!
Michael Findon
Great coffee and great customer service a wonderful place for coffee
Brett Venables
Brilliant coffee. Terrific people. Just what Tassie is all about.

Went there on 27/12/16, before our outbound flight at 1.30pmOrdered a Salamanca Fresh juice, 20min later got told that the juicer broke, got money refunded.
Ordered two brioche burgers, waited 35min and had to ask several times before they started preparing our food.
Two burgers eventually delivered, just missing the chorizo. Had to wait again for them to randomly place the chorizo in the burgers. We just made it to the airport!

Bought a coffee from here and it was good. May come back again and try some of the other things they offer. The person working there was friendly which was also nice, especially when it's morning and you're in a groggy mood.

Ordered pancakes with grilled banana and mixed berries, yet received a burnt microwaved waffle a non-grilled banana and 2 strawberries. Waited over an hour for a disappointing meal, service was slow and not up to standard. Will definitely not be returning.

Doctor Coffee is probably more of a General Practitioner than a specialist. The coffee is average at best. We should have seen the warning signs when other nearby cafés were busy and 'The Doctor' only had one other customer. There's better options nearby.

Place is pretty small but service was friendly and attentive. Had their eggs Benedict, it was great! Sauce was good and the flavour wasn't too strong which compliments the salty bacon really well. Coffee was average.

Came to the market, and want a decent place to seat and have a full breakfast. found this place and it was sad. is the worst coffee I had. sorry to my tummy. guess people love it cause is one of the few choices in the market.

Its a quick coffee fix on a busy day. Service is efficient and to the point. The food is microwaved on site. My panini was a microwaved mess.

Great little spot that is hidden away in Salamanca. Coffee was prefect and the seating outside on a mild winters day was ideal to soak up the atmosphere!

Doctor coffee.. Waited 20 m.... Doctor coffee..
Waited 20 mins for burger that just needed warming up. Only 1 staff on, under the pump. Terrible
Jbloom92
Lovely staff!. Coffee made just to perfection. The staff are always really nice even on those busy days.

Ho hum. Not too bad. I've had better coffee in Hobart. The coffee is good but make sure you ask for hot if you're after anything above 60C.
The pastries were a bit standard and stodgy.
Food 2 Run
Just what the doctor ordered, this place is magic great coffee over looks the ocean and on the Salamanca street.

Definite thumbs up. Found some great coffee in Hobart and this is one of the best. Came here multiple times during our 3 week trip and it was consistently good.
Mark Anthony
Nice staff, great long black coffee. Quick service. Great name.
Josh
Best coffee in Hobart!
Andrew
One of the better places in Salamanca to get a takeaway coffee. Keep it up guys!!
Mel Mepham
Best coffee in hobart. Awesome staff all round top experience.
TrentR
Scouted this place on urbanspoon. First off came for a coffee which had a very distinct flavour and I could see the barista made it with passion. Came back a second time and had breakfast. Just simple toast and honey but was lovely. Coffee is awesome. The cafe itself is very cute also.
Amy Schuth
Received a burnt, boiling hot coffee... wont be going there again!
Brad
25 minutes for a coffee? Abit of a joke. I have been here quite abit and nothing changes, never again. Service is so slow, coffee as warm as milk sitting out, better place in hobart then this crap.
Showmethecheese
Good coffee, we both had the breakfast panini which was well priced, tasty and very filling. One of the better places to go for breakfast in the Salamanca Place region
HappyHayley
Best coffee we've seen and tasted in Hobart. Had the breakfast panini which was really nice but a little bit greasy. I guess that's to be expected with fried food in toasted bread though!
David Beer
Great coffee and nice little shop. Slowest service ever mind considering there is 5 guys working here in the tiny kitchen. There must be a more efficient way to make coffee quicker??
Caityfox
Awesome! Cute decor, great branding, good coffee. Will return.
Rucky
Nice one!. We were in very early on Sunday, just on opening, and they were happy to serve us and a couple of others.

The coffee was very enjoyable, the freshly baked (still warm) raspberry muffin was sublime.
We left feeling like a couple of very happy customers.

Coming from Melbourne where we love our coffee houses this place has great coffee. The take pride in the way the make it in proportion and not weak like most of the coffees I've had in Hobart. I like my coffee hot & a good strength & the guys here know their stuff. One of the best coffes in Hobart.
Slaughts
Really yummy food. Great coffee. Child friendly. You have to try the big breakfast panini. So good!
The Greek And The Welshman
Coffee was average and did not have a hotness, shared the table with a previous order as it was not cleaned.
Andrea Schloetzer
We wanted a casual and less pricey cafe and Doctor Coffee was perfect! Really nice coffee. Our two year old wanted a 'coffee' and they filled our really-tiny-weak-soy-hot-choc perfectly! Even down to warm, rather than hot milk! It's little things like this that we appreciate! Try the Big Breakfast Panini.. It was heaven!
Mischamoomoo
Average coffee. That is all.
Brazen Crumpets
Coffee. Fair enough, it's good coffee, but a touch on the expensive side for what you get. And you don't get the atmosphere of nearby Tricycle Cafe or Jam Jar to go with it. So you're better off visiting some of these gems next door.
Gary Simmons
Dr coffee. This place delivers consistently well made coffees. Their muffins are too die for. The wait time on coffee can be a little frustrating but worth the wait!
Trekka10
Best coffee I've had in Hobart and the granola with yoghurt & raspberry coulis is so delicious! Great little spot for breaky!
Rookie
Doctor coffee. TIP: You need to order at the counter
Jane Ledingham
Consistently really great coffee, staff always friendly.
Carla C
Good coffee, but a bit expensive, more expensive than melbourne which doesn't make sense!
Shireen Prasad
One of the best coffee in Hobart NOT Traralgon. Very smooth and nutty flavour. They do single origin- I tried the Costa Rican- very good. Small selection of premade sandwiches and rolls.
DaisyNevertoosweet
Anyhow, back to the BEST coffee in Hobart ~ Mr Bao stumbled across Dr Coffee when I was complaining about the rain and that I needed my 3pm pick-me-up mocha. Even though I had to wait in the rain for 15 minutes, it was totally worth it!

Our brunch at the groovy Machine Laundry Cafe was our only brunch/breakfast during our entire stay in Hobart. For the rest of the time we dined on English Muffins from Coles and hotel coffee in our room in an attempt to save some money...and some inches off our waistlines (I failed at both I'm said to say). And with only one brunch to our names I think we picked a winner with Machine Laundry Cafe . The cafe shares its space with a Laundromat, though I wonder how many people sip their coffee whilst watching their smalls do a few laps in the dryer? The cafe is really popular so it's a short wait before we can nab ourselves a table. We start things off with coffee - a soy cappuccino for me which was perfect. The cafes interior is quite quirky - a mix of retro decor (laminate tables, vinyl chairs and the like) and industrial chic - hard concrete floors in keeping with its second job as a Laundromat. The Boy opts for an Eggs Benedict ($15.00) - his other great breakfast love when a Big Brea

Great coffee and simple but delicious food. We were only in Hobart for three days but visited three times. Keep an eye out for their special blends that seem to change daily.
