Review Zum Bakery - Hobart

Michael Pillay
A nice place to stop for a coffee or pastry. I was surprised to see a previous reviewer moaning about the high prices, so I assume they are a time traveller from the 1970's, as I found this place to be very reasonable, especially the quality of their products. Well worth a visit if your ever in North Hobart.

Worst cheesecake. On first inspection it looked good in the window. Upon opening it was hard, tasted like old cream, The slice was cracked, dried out and quite obvious that it wasn't fresh, I was going to return it but this shouldn't be something that happens in a place that serves food.

Great staff awesome food and great coffee.

Sitting on a cold, uncomfortable metal chair shoulder to shoulder with some old dude made me think that perhaps I'd made a rare mistake in dropping into Zum for a quick brunch....fortunately the coffee was so good I'd quite happily sit on the floor to drink another. And the chocolate croissant was delicious too!

Bought lemon cheese cake. 4 bites and in the bin. Was grose. No flavour and like cement. Yuck. Also had a milkshake that was so sweet barely drinkable. Will not return. Wouldn't recommend.

Coffee is excellent, the cake is a bit sweet but still okay. Haven't had a coffee this good for a long time. Just wish the place have more room to sit.

Saddest bacon and egg roll ever, and I've even eaten at Hobart Airport! Literally chucked it in bin after one mouthful. Very minimal bacon and the eggs have been so overcooked they could survive a nuclear blast. I would upload a photo but I don't wanna be put on a terrorist watch list. The coffee is completely fine in a pinch, but it does nothing to make up for the atrocity I witnessed this morning. You're better off going to maccas if I'm honest!

Was hoping to sit back and enjoy some breakfast instead got shoved a cold quiche (was surved as hot) and a terrible coffee in a take away cup. The staff seemed very into there own business and not the customer.
