Review Bento - Hobart

I love the sushi at Sakura. I only am in Hobart part of the year, and when I am away I dream about their vegetarian sushi. So good - and I am not a vegetarian!

The most amazing sushi place you will ever visit. I go here all the time, always the freshest and most high quality fish used in their sushi. staff is so very welcoming and lovely. Best spot in Hobart for sushi. No other place could ever compare

Short wait times. Excellent value for money, excellent recipes and chefs. Consistent for over a decade and always on my list of must go places when visiting Hobart.

You will get what you pay for, which means you wouldn't regret in terms of the amount of money you pay as it's reasonable price. However, it wouldn't be impressive or fantastic. It is nice quick-easy-low price meal, no more than that. You can imagine taste perhaps, as it's just like the one you could possibly get it from the food court.

Friendly service, sushi was fresh and quite tasty. We ordered take away and food was ready in about 10 minutes.

The menu on the wall promised so much. It was so enticing. The pictures paint an idea of a nice Asian meal. Pictures say a lot, but if you can't deliver, the promises are empty. We had dinner here. Quite disappointing really. Let's go through the dishes. Soy chicken rice dish. Chicken was overcooked and dry, the rice was stale and unappealing. Choy was passable. Choice of soy flavours wasn't as expected. Not a great effort. Hainan chicken rice. Again, the rice was stale, there was NO chicken flavouring in the rice. I got some lame cucumber. The chicken was pretty plain and not flavoursome. The ginger sauce was weird. Definitely not Hainan chicken rice as you would expect. Maybe it was leftovers from a few days earlier. The stir fried beef flat rice noodles dish was odd too. Celery but no onions. No bbq pork for added flavour. Just plain odd. Sure, these guys can speak Cantonese, but to me it seemed they couldn't cook it. At the end of the meal it was a big disappointment that they couldn't get some basic dishes together. I wouldn't want to come back. There must be better Asian shops around.

Been in twice this week because it is freshly hand made sushi to order and delicious! Some of the best sushi I’ve had in a long time.

One of the best priced, delicious Japanese spots in the Elizabeth Mall area - the staff prepares meals authentically and they're friendly. If you have the option, sit down for your meal as take-out portions tend to be smaller than what you'd get in the store.

A+ Excellent quality food, great customer service, fast fresh cooked servings, one of the best choices to eat in Moonah. Makes a refreshing change from the regular take away places around the area. Definitely worth a taste. Drop in you wont be disappointed.

They need to clear the entrance to the access toilet, it is used by everyone including those who use wheelchairs and walking frames, the boxes out side are in the way and really should not be there.

Beautiful banquet meal. Excellent friendly service and the food was super fast out. Lucky we went in at 6 as it got really busy quickly.

Great atmosphere, however food was only just passable. Chicken teriyake udon was okay, with the chicken crispy with a subtle sweet teroyake miso soup combination not bad. Miso soup was alright as was the bento box. However, while the dishes are well priced at under $12 the bento, for example, was predominantly rice, with some of the condiments too salty. Had to add them to the miso and.udpn soup to eat. Would mich rather eat at Sakura on Liverpool Street in Hobart.

It doesn't taste bad, but the portion of the dinner bento box is TINY. Mind you that I am not a massive eater and yet it wasn't enough for me.
Won't be back again.

Bland sushi & slow service - I have been here on various occasions and each time it has been disappointing.

For eat-in, I tried the bento boxes. There is nothing exciting to write about.

For takeaways, I've had various premade sushi rolls, octopus balls & prawn tempura. The service is slow for a takeaway, I probably could have eat-in for length of time it takes to slice the sushi. Sushi has too much rice & lacklustre ingredients (brown avocado is off putting). They use too much sauce & mayonnaise, perhaps to mask the bland rice or lack of ingredients in the sushi.

It's time I give up on this place.

Close to the worst sushi going around. I've had better at Melbourne Airport. This place leaves a bad taste in the mouth in more ways than one, due to the food sitting around for hours, poor ingredients and lousy service. Don't even think about asking for a glass of water!

Bring your own waterIts nice to have a new restaurant in Moonah and Bento is a pleasant place for lunch or a quick dinner. Quite interesting and stylish interior. Service is slow but friendly. Usual range of standard takeaway Japanese food. Food is tasty, but not interesting, and very salty. When I asked for tap water they said they didn't have tap water! Whilst it is their choice to not provide water, I find it an odd one, its not like they were being swamped by people using up their table space in search of the free water!

Decent place, but not actually open on Sunday (Not today anyway). Reasonably priced, decent quality food, though the sushi is lacking in quality and flavour. Large menu, lots of variety in dishes, nice atmosphere and decor. Friendly staff.
Banquet is best value for money, as it has unlimited sushi; The bento boxes themselves are lacking in quantity. Plenty of rice, plenty of undesirable coleslaw, and a small amount of sides.
