Review Touch Of Asia - Hobart

Got the dine-in special, 2 dishes and rice for 14dollars. Taste is average but the proportion is really generous and the plate is filled to the brim. Cheap prices for a cheap good meal. Will come again when im really hungry.

The best crispy chicken I’ve ever had , I’ve been to Hong Kong ,Singapore and this rates a the top , the salt and peppers squid is amazing also the salt and pepper chicken wings . The roast duck is to die for !!!!!! I have been here 3 times since moving to Tasmania and ordered from the menu just amazing . I have also been while on holidays to Tassie in the past 2 years and quality and flavour is still fantastic 👍👍👍👍👍👍

We found this place after parking at Coles. We've never eaten here and was very surprised to find that even for late lunch, it was still open. So we were given the menu even as we saw some hot food in the food warmers. The lady at first seemed very serious. But once we finished ordering, we got into talking and she was very animated and friendly while we waited for our orders. Our son had his laksa, I had a taste and it was delightful, generous serve as well that he had to ask for a takeaway container. My husband had his fave roast duck as usual ( he orders it often in any Chinese restaurant we go to), it was very crispy and fragrant as roast duck should be! I had to ask him to share more to me, that's how nice it was, not very fond of duck but that was really good, no nasty smell compared to some I've tasted in a few Asian diners we've been to. My pork chops in bbq sauce were great too, I got very excited having them I forgot to take a photo! We will surely be back!

Walked past by accidentally as we didn't plan to eat here. We've the drinks bought from outside. Order their food then the old man was very angry about the drink. Not friendly at all. The food was average. Chinese food in Melbourne much more tasty. If we have a chance to go back Tassie we wouldn't be back.

order the take away and looks bad. The beef is really hard to eat and too sweet. Too much rice and hard to eat. And don’t want to try again and do not order take away.

One star is too many . Where to start ! What was supposed to be a casual lunch was a total disaster . First warning sign was the very dry spring roll , a staple of Chinese restaurants and not hard to do well .Then came the jasmine tea .. once again a staple but this one appeared in a mug with a tea bag ! I ordered Prawn Laksa .. it was appalling ... no flavour of coconut milk , fish sauce, laksa paste to be had .. stock was water with chilli oil . Do yourself a favour and give this place a wide berth it is a shocker!!

I suspect management changed as the beef brisket noodle didn't taste good and the stir fried tofu rice dish was terribly tasteless and bland. Hospital food tasted better. The lady owner is also incredibly rude and even if you're a paying customer, you are not allowed to consume any beverages on hand. Ridiculous.

Bad food, bad service. Stop supporting such establishments.

If I could give this restaurant 0 stars I would. Absolutely appalling service. Expensive for the quality/size of the meal. One of our group specifically requested a vegan meal and found small pieces of meat throughout it halfway through the meal. They lied and said it was onion and later admitted it was meat. Then their excuse was that the wok was not clean. They then proceeded to be incredibly rude, raising their voices and told us to tell the police then. Absolutely disgusted.

Very good and good price of the value, never can taste the authentic Chinese in Hobart, except touch of Asia, even though it is small take away shop.

Good Chinese food. 22 Jan 2015..
Asians visit this place. That for me says a lot about the food of this venue.

Food was good. Crispy and real Chinese roast duck. Tastes good and authentic Chinese style chicken and veg with cashews. Simple, delicate and delicious veg and tofu.

Total bill AUD$62.30 for two people. Slightly pricier than I'd like it to be, but I guess it's in Sandy Bay, Hobart (and I am on vacation...). Nevertheless, I am happy to pay again because I'm happy and satisfied with the food. That for me is value for money.

Staff (both in-training) were attentive, but another woman -- older, maybe the owner(?)/supervisor(?) -- was a bit arrogant. Venue is more like a fast food take-away joint.

I'm Chinese, born and bred, now living in Melbourne Victoria.

If you want real Chinese food, come to this place when in Tassie...

(fair warning: Never ever visit Jin Xing restaurant in Launceston. They're posers posing as Chinese restaurant that are truly overpriced crap... see my Launceston post of 18 Jan 2015.)

Walked in and was immediately greeted with standup commedy. They called the stuff they were serving "food". 10/10 would laugh again.

Food was tasteless and a bit pricy. 11.30 for stirred noodle? And the staff was not nice! Rude! And oh, I think I got stomachache right afterwards. Don't go to this place!
