Tiny cafe just off Port Phillip Arcade (Flinders Lane side) but both the staff/place very warm and welcoming. They accommodate gluten free diets, and my new goal is to eat my way through the simple but delicious sounding menu. The aromas and food were divine, the coffee excellent, and I think the prices very reasonable too. The only complaint I have is with myself for not also checking the Daily Specials which sounded amazing too. Highly recommend Roule Galette, Melbourne. - Merci beaucoup pour votre hospitalité et la nourriture délicieuse aussi!
This place has been a staple French delight of mine for years... whenever I would visit Melbourne, I would come here.
Now that I live in Melbourne I now take great delight in bringing people to Roule Galette to eat crêpes and galettes with me!
The new renovations are wonderful, the extra space beautiful, it’s so open and welcoming, and the staff are simply ‘formidable’ and ‘fantastique’!
Merci bcp!
It was an exceptionally hot day and we were fortunate to find an empty table inside the tiny indoor, very quaint part of the restaurant which is separated by an alley from the few outdoor tables opposite and another tiny indoor area where you pay for your meal. A very interesting unusual set up which works well. The staff all seemed fluent in French and with many of the patrons chatting away in French too, we enjoyed feeling as though we were in France. My husband wasn't at all enthusiastic about stopping here for a meal and reluctantly ordered the terroir sausage meal whilst I ordered the sweet brie crepe. We both enjoyed our freshly cooked meals. The iced coffee drink was so delicious that my hubby immediately ordered a second. He was also wanting to sample a dessert crepe, but found he was too full. He is so pleased that we visited this fantastic restaurant and I know this will be on our agenda next time we visit Melbourne. In spite of the restaurant being so small, we never felt rushed and it was a very relaxing and wonderful dining experience.
Their savoury crepes are truly delicious but their dessert crepes are not to be underestimated either!
It was amazing with really friendly service. It was a hidden gem and we almost missed it. I felt lucky that I tried this place.
Best crepes in Melbourne. The food is delicious, the place is cozy, and the service is great! The waiters always come with their warm smiles and kindness! I will go back again!!
Very nice food and service. Reasonable prices. 10/10 would go back
Roule galette makes both savory and sweet crêpes. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The service was fast and each crêpe arrived around the exact same time. The crêpes were all delicious as well as inexpensive.
Searched for a pocket-friendly place on Zomato for a li'l afternoon snack and this place popped up. This cosy restaurant, with its French theme and casual vibe, has two parts on either side of the street. Ordered the 'La compléte' crêpe which comes with an egg in the centre and stuffed with ham and cheese, along with some salad. The crêpe was absolutely glorious and complete-ly (see what I did there?) took care of my hunger pangs. All the while being easy on the pocket.
From the delightful staff to the delicious crepes and cider (an essential pairing!), this place is ‘Le top du top’! And I haven’t even tried the sweet crepes yet because the savoury ones are too fabulous. Try a Tartiflette, but only if you’re really hungry!

Hidden creperie in the city.
Located in an alleyway, it definitely is missable but on a Saturday noon the place was packed. There were two areas, one bit dim and the other well lit (where we sat), both were quite small but it wasn't uncomfortable. Staffs were really friendly, food came out at a reasonable speed.
The roule galette complete was yummy, the batter was crispy on the sides and quite soft and chewy in the middle. The components all worked really well together, though I personally prefer more mushrooms and less ham.
La Belle Normande was quite yummy, the apple was really soft and not too sweet, and all the other components worked well together. I do think the crepe was a tad bit chewy/tough.
Update:
Pesto was pretty good, added some mushrooms to it. Was a lighter option compared to the RG complete. However can't really taste much of the pesto.
La Gourmande was definitely the perfect combination you'd expect from a sweet crepe. The crepe was softer this time, but definitely chewier than la petite and less crispy. Really yumz tho.
Overall a great place for crepe and galettes, with nice ambience and super lovely staffs!
P.S Galettes are gluten free!

This cute French crêperie is a great treat for yourself, whether you wanna go sweet or savoury! A friend and I split the Truffle Salmon galette and La belle Normande crêpe because we couldn't decide on what to get. Absolute bliss in my mouth!
Only reason why I'm giving this a 4 has nothing to do with the food - it's a bit squishy with seats, it's a very small place. Sometimes you'll have to wait to get a seat, and wait a bit longer for the food, because it's so limited. BUT I think that's part of the charm with this place - it's well worth the wait!
Merci beaucoup!
Had the famous Suzette with an extra crepe. Was just what we needed. Not too sweet, soft and buttery with the sauce. The flambé was cool. Hot chocolate with the house made cream was beautiful. Again, not sweet but light and creamy. The chocolate flavour was delicate and just right for us. Great dessert place, highly recommended!
Super friendly (and cute) staffs! Nice vibes during dinner time. Would recommend the ones with spicy sausage (e.g. Atlas), which is not really spicy but really tasty. Good place to catch up with friends or enjoy some time with the loved one. Good quality-quantity balance! Will definitely come back soon.
What a delicious little place. Amazing crepes, good coffee. Lovely staff with beautiful accents. Almost felt like we could have been abroad for a sweet minute or two.
Great People, food and Service. Very welcoming staff and great food. French decor added a nice touch.
They have moved couple times in the same lane. The home made caramel sauce on the rivière pancakes was so delicious, must try! One of Melbournes best spots.
I had passed by a few times, but it was always busy. Today I timed it right and got to try a Galette. It was delicious and reminded me of Breton cuisine from times past. I looked longingly at the milkshakes and creamy deserts that others were having, but my coffee and Galette were both great and I needed nothing more. The service was good and I was brought water without having to ask.
The one and only crepe place to go!! Both sweet and savoury varieties are delicious. Can have a line forming up during busy periods, but if you're prepared to wait the reward is worth it
A fine French cage, Roule Galette's limited menu emphasizes their strengths in all the right ways. Though limited on variety, the fare is tasty and the staff is unerringly polite and kind.
The space is cozy, though feels a bit spare.
Roule Galette is worth a short wait in line, and very much worth checking out for those in this part of Melbourne.
I loved everything about Roule Galette! They had a great selection of both sweet (crepes) and savoury (galette) dishes, and the portion was just right. The Roule Galette Complete, one of their most popular, was packed with delicious ham and cheese, and their classic crepe Suzette was light and refreshing. Although a bit tight inside (despite the new venue) the ambiance remained cosy. The staff were super friendly too. Definitely one of my favourite eateries!
