There are plenty of options in the city, unfortunately for this place, it's not memorable. The drinks were great, the staff was OK, but nothing stood out at all. There is a huge whiskey selection and a fantastic menu. Years ago, 1806 was probably ahead of the pack, but now it looks tired inside.
1806 has been on my bookmark for ages and finally get a chance to visit. If you are a whiskey lover, you gonna adore this place. Intimate, cozy environment and made for some small talk with the love one, or some besties! Staff also gave us some great recommendations. Love the SHOJO cocktail, so refreshing and nicely presented!
The extensive range of cocktails are amazing here. Came here for a farewell party and it was one of the best cocktail bars in cbd. Also the bar tenders are so skilled they can just make up a mocktail with an ingredient you like eg I chose lychee and then whip up something really unique and nice.
Came here for a pre-dinner drink with friends on a Saturday night. Venue itself has a great ambience, with an intimate, dimly lit, old world feel. Drinks menu was extensive and the staff were very knowledgeable and attentive. Our cocktails were great! Didn’t get a chance to try the food but the menu but it looked enticing.
I love this bar, they have an extensive cocktail menu. The service is nice even though it can get quite busy. Nice chill place to catch up with friends
Nice little cozy cocktail place in the city. Always busy but not too busy. Zombie is a must try, and cobra’s fang is also a good choice for ladies who like little bit sweet and fruity. My friend who doesn’t drink much likes cobra’s fang a lot. Good service too.
Weekdays night are great for date or have a chat with friend. Weekends always busy, good for grab couple pre- drink before club.
This illustrious bar is THE perfect date place. I went with 2 gfs, but I can see why.
Beautiful fit out, grand bar set up, relaxed setting (unlike most stuck up cocktail bars) and extensive drinks menu. I ordered an espresso martini and amaretto sour (it was Friday after work drinks and I didn’t have time to delve in the menu). Cocktails were rich and shaken just how I like them, no maraschino cherry 🍒 in my amaretto on both occasions though. Would go back again, I remember seeing cheese on some tables 👀
An unobtrusive door leads to a dimly lit, almost theatrical bar. Great for pre dinner or late night cocktails. Full of little nooks and crannies. The place was quite busy when we arrived at 11pm. We were ushered up to the mezzanine floor where we had a fabulous view of the bar area.

Went here on a Thursday evening for drinks. Quite convincingly located on Exhibition street.
Great collection of cocktails and whiskey’s to choose from.It’s quite a busy and noisy bar, great interiors and excellent service.
It has vintage vibe to it with two levels of seating.
Perfect place for a cocktail lover.
A beautiful bar hidden on Exhibition street, got such good atmosphere! Ordered difference drinks among the girls and we all loved our cocktails. Service was prompt and friendly. Good spot for a date!

1806 is an award winning bar known by many and unlike any other, a go-to for some of the best cocktails in town. It is named after the year the word “cocktail” was created and they aim to take you back in time, to the golden era.
Using only the finest quality spirits and ingredients, the bartenders here will make you anything you can think of - to a tee. Pick a more innovative option, a special or a classic, it’s almost guaranteed you will enjoy it. The menu itself is currently presented as a “Rhythm and Booze” record album, where you can actually use the QR code on it to request a song to be played in the venue. 🎶
The Queen of Hearts was strong yet fruity, a mixture of Vodka, Framboise, Sparkling Wine, Honey, Lemon, Orange and Mandarin Bitters. I loved it, it came decorated with a playing card (not a Queen of Hearts but the thought was cute). We also tried The Light of the Moon which was Moonshine, Peach Liqueur, Spiced Syrup and Lemon. It came topped with cream which wasn’t mentioned and probably should have been, either way it was delicious and reminded us of a cheesecake. 🤤
I loved the themed experience, old fashioned service and moody ambience. Can’t wait to return again and trial some more of their creations.
We had a great evening. The waiter upstairs Sat 17/6 was awesome. Attentive, positive, informative.
Our drinks were perfect, particularly the Light of the Moon and the Caribou Lou.
I almost never have cocktails I enjoy because they’re often too sweet or give an alcohol burn but these were so drinkable and enjoyable. Worth the price. See you next time :)
I knew this is a bar with really vintage and good vibes. But I didn’t expect they even have the best fries 🍟. The food was so good for a bar. We just couldn’t stop and ate them all.
The first highlight moment was how I found their food menu. The QR code was put on a record which you need to pull out from the drink menu.
The drinks name were beautiful. I had the light of the moon that night and it’s light and fresh.
It’s a place that worth adding to one of your fav go-to.
We didn't have a booking but were lucky to get a table right upfront and menus presented to us quick smart. Everyone that we spoke to genuinely seemed like they loved what they did and that made 1806 such a friendly, welcoming experience. I haven't been here in over 10 years - nostalgic and I'm so grateful that it's absolutely thriving. Thanks for a good night. P.S delicious cocktails.

Wow! So far, the BEST cocktails I’ve gad in Melbourne CBD. The drinks are so well made and smooth and each one has its own unique character. The vibe as you enter is amazing, almost as if its from a different era, from the decor, lighting and music. The staff are so kind and knowledgeable about the menu which is great. Also, they have one of the cleanest toilets 😆. Absolutely recommend this for a Saturday night out with friends or your partner!
Staff are exceptional. Been a few times now and each time staff are attentive and you can feel they really love their job. Special mention to Hannah who is a stand out. Happy to make any cocktail you mention. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
One of the highlights of my trip, we went on twice on one night such and mazing place and atmosphere, the staff are very tentative and produce amazing cocktails.
My only gripe (very small) I have a whisky trail, 4 whiskeys all peat based, although they where ok they where not high end whiskeys. So spend the same money and go for a great whiskey.
I can wait to return.
