This is an iconic Degraves Street cafe by now, I suppose. It’s well known and well regarded. It was mighty chilly mid morning in the Melbourne CBD, 6 degrees C with an evil breeze wafting in between the tall buildings. Coat, scarf and gloves weather. It was time to get refuge when I spotted Cafe Andiamo. It was lovely, warm and toasty inside. The compact cafe had a really nice buzz too. The coffee is very good here - top class in fact - and it warmed me up a treat and delighted my tastebuds. The menu looked good with the usual brekkie standards and numerous Italian style dishes. There’s plenty of choice here for everyone. The food coming out looked a little bit prosaic though but then again that might be me mistaking looks for substance. Service was quick, efficient and friendly.
This is a good solid Melbourne cafe is my overall impression. 😁
It’s delicious, but definitely not a real carbonara.
I tried the linguine carbonara and the taste was really good, the pasta was “al dente”. But let just say it wasn’t a carbonara, there wasn’t even a black pepper in there. But for a pasta, it was good
So many places to choose from on Degraves Street, and most have very similar menus. Andiamo won out as they had one table left outside, but it was a good choice regardless.
We both chose the lamb salad, and it was simple yet delicious. Not enough dressing initially, but that was quickly put right with olive oil & balsamic provided on the table.
The house Shiraz & garlic bread were also good
Amazing food. Prompt, friendly and helpful service. Server's recommendation for coffee was great - my new favourite drink. Perfect place for a date. Will come back to try more dishes in the future. Dining area was slightly cramped but overall a great cafe/restaurant.
After a debacle at another cafe around the corner I saw this cafe and decided to give it a go.
The cafe was absolutely buzzing, really busy but despite that I was served immediately. Thanks to the owners for their outstanding service.
I ordered a strong skinny latte and I was charged $3.50 w no extra payment for an extra shot. Perfect.
My coffee had a good froth, it wasn’t too hot so I could drink it straight away and the flavour was really nice.
I didn’t have to wait long for my take away, maybe a minute.
OMGosh this is my new favourite coffee shop in the city at the moment. This place is definitely worth a visit! Enjoy your weekend everyone :)
Service was amazing ! Super quick and very friendly. Coffee is good, quite traditional and creamy. Breakfast menu has something for everyone.
Staff were very attentive with great customer service & the food was great! Smashed avo was perfect, the pomegranate was different but complimented well.
Cafe Andiamo was one of the first cafes I had explored when I started food blogging and I have not forgotten my experience since then!
Andiamo - this was an interesting combination which had scrambled eggs, tomato, sausage, prosciutto on thick pesto toast! I was a little skeptical at first with the pesto but once I mixed it up with the scrambled eggs and sausage, it tasted good and I thoroughly enjoyed it!
Gigante - this was my favorite as it had everything I wanted (think of it as a big brekkie like the name suggests)! The picture itself tells you a whole new story!
If you’re after a traditional brekkie, Cafe Andiamo is the place to be!
This is my favorite cafe in Melbourne. Although a bit pricey, the quality of the food is unbelievable! The pizza is to die for and feels like traditional Italian pizza.
Friendly and competent staff. Food and coffee is pleasing compared to many, but not amongst the very best. Unfortunately, and for obvious reasons, it’s a little too cramped. Getting in and out of your seat requires some coordination.
Prompt service on a busy Saturday - food was quite delicious and had good presentation. Hollandaise sauce was really unique - in a good way.
Coffee was pretty average for Melbourne, but not bad.
Overall a positive experience. Filled the spot for a day of shopping in the city !
Very good value for money.
👍 Wow! Absolutely LOVE Cafe Andiamo, the meals were delicious, the wines were exquisite and the desserts were something else - their tiramisu is incredible! Highly recommend, if you're in Melbourne head down "Degraves Lane"!
A very nice cafe. The hot chocolate was delicious, and was decorated with chocolate running down the inside. The bacon and eggs were delicious but the toast could have been toasted for longer. It was situated in a little alley and was quite cute.

Super breakfast/brunch location recommended by my local friend. Ordered omelette and I like they used sourdough for toast. Unfortunately, it was not a suitable meal to eat on the go which I was intending to. Coffee was good too.
One of the gems of Degraves St! Tasty breaky and very nice coffee to be had. Staff were really friendly and helpful, and meals came out pretty quickly given how busy it was!
