One of the best Cantonese Guangdong Cuisine restaurants in Melbourne. A hidden gem.
My friend from Hong Kong introduced me and 12 other friends to this restaurant one evening.
At first glance, I thought this restaurant was just another Chinese restaurant.
But I soon realised how amazing the food is. Will definitely be back again to order the same dishes and more.
Best and cheapest chicken curry and congee in the city. Can get super busy during lunch and dinner. Also recommend custard bao and chinese sausage bao.
Went for dinner on a Thursday night and the overall experience was good. The food was served quickly, with good quality and a generous portion. I would recommend the sampan congee and the spinach, but not the barbeque pork. They also served complimentary prawn crackers before the meal and sweet soup afterwards. The service staff were attentive and professional, but not very warm.
Super nice place to bring your family and friends. I planned my fathers birthday there and the staffs are super cooperative with how it all went. Great food, especially the snow crab cooked with goose liver.
After reading the reviews online, I head down to this restaurant amidst all the other chinese cuisines available. We waited for our turn for 5 minutes and this was around 8.30pm. The service staff was courteous and after we had ordered finish our food, they gave us a complimentary bowl of soup. We ordered fish congee, deep fried pork ribs with salted egg yolk, sweet and sour fish, kai lan. The congee is really thick and the fish was fresh. The portion of the dishes was pretty substantial and I came home with boxes of left overs. Overall, the ambience of the place is really lively with every table having their own conversations and yet I was oblivious to my surroundings as I tucked into my food. The crabs do look good and I would have gone for it if not for budget restrains.
The meal was satisfying only thing was the fish seemed to little bit slim, would have been happy to pay more to see the fish first and seeing if he was fat enough for the appetite.

Five star spice chiken spare ribs - also known as the oriental edition of KFC. Deliciously greasy deep fried chicken spare ribs tossed in moreish spice combination of five star salt, onion, garlic, chilli and spring onion. A fail-safe dish.
No 1 cheap eats Chinese Food for me!. This is my absolute go to no 1 for a cheap and quick Chinese feed , way better than any similar offering in Chinatown - located just before the corner of Russell and Lonsdale and is perfect for a quick after work bite - Classic old school set up - they use school room like furniture and write your order and invoice in Chinese - I could never challenge the bill because I cant read it , but a very inexpensive place with great food served super quick! The dumplings and pork rolls are a must too! It does tend to get rather busy at post work hour.
Bob. Walked into this place accidentally last week and what a pleasant surprise. Very fresh seafood in plentiful quantity. Had the best crispy pepper fish [flounder] i've had in a long time, enough for two. Price was low enough that I cant remember what it was. Senior waiters are experts. How long since any restaurant de backboned your fish at the table?. Only been once but we loved it
Good place for congee supper. Went for a supper with my friends which was a delighted experience. Ordered a fresh and juicy steamed fish, crispy and tasty deep fried port intestine & barramundi congee. Honestly I didn't expect such a good food they could provide. One of the young waiter gave us a lovely smile and helpful service all the time. I love this place! Tumb up!
This is my favourite spots for Cantonese cuisine.. still remains very high standard even due to so many lockdown and hard to survive with business.. always love their crab dishes, sweet and sour pork, lobster etc.. too many to share.. also nice service and reasonable price
My favourite restaurant from Chinatown. The flavours and quality are exactly that I am looking forward. Very delicious! Thanks
Great value of lobster. $58 for a lobster of 650g. Highly recommend deep fried lobster with garlic and black bean.
However visit this place on Easter Sunday and staff completely forget to put the order through the system. Waiting for 30 mins without any foods served. Ruin excitement of the night. Manager need to improve the operational flow or add extra staff to achieve better management but staff is friendly even though that is a big mistake and really make it up at the end
Before lockdown : big portions ,cheaper priced
After lockdown: small portions ,overpriced food
Stuff is around by moving our table and taking too long to take our orders. The food is good whoever. Great place for a late night supper.
