Stopped in to this little gem for a coffee and quick bite to eat last weekend and it was such a darling little cafe. They atmosphere was cosy and sweet and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. I had a slice of carrot cake and it was so moist and full of flavour. The coffee was really creamy and perfectly made!
This a fabulous family run cafe. Great breakfasts with fantastic variety. Able to look after big parties with seamless service. We come here every Saturday after our Parkrun. Friendly and enthusiastic - checkout the old sporting photos too
Fantastic. Amazing service, hearty flavoursome dishes and reasonably priced. I can't believe it's taken me so long to find! It's refreshing to have such genuine, courteous hospitality, particularly in a busy cafe during the lunchtime rush. Only my second visit, but I'm definitely a new regular.

BEST CAFE PEEPS EVER!. We are regulars in here because the owners are so wonderful and supportive and helpful. Always chirpy and happy. They have wonderful chai lattes as well (used with tea leaves). The guy in there looks like Mr Bean - he's very cute. Def go and check out their wonderful vibe - wonderful coffee and breaky/lunch options too.

Food and coffee are fantastic and the excellent personal service just tops it off. Such a warm friendly environment and I hope to come back as much as possible.

Best Cafe in South Melbourne!. This lovely little cafe is tucked away just off Clarendon st, and is a golden find! The staff are always smiling and happy to help, great chai latte made with T2 leaves that tastes amazing, and for $11.50 you get a VERY generous serving of something hot (eg. Moroccan chicken with couscous) and a side of salad of which there's usually 6 to choose from! Very happy with this place and will definitely be coming back, only negative comment to make is that they aren't open on weekends

My work colleagues and i would visit emerald hill cafe every Wednesday before our work meeting. The coffee, food and service was brilliant. Our meeting place has now relocated and we haven't had a decent coffee ever since..., we miss emerald hill mornings!!!!!! Best coffee in south melbourne
Emerald Hill is a quaint family run cafe at South Melbourne. At only $3.80 a cup, their coffee is probably the best priced in the area.
I had their home made sausage rolls to accompany my coffee, and I enjoyed it very much. The roll was packed with filling and was full of flavour. The pastry was buttery and flaky. I thought it was much tastier than many of the specialty bakeries around the area. Left a happy customer :)

Love their poached eggs and toast, and the coffee is fantastic too! This set used to be $9.90 but is now priced separately, but remains as good as it was in quality. Take your time...inside it's as if time has stood still for a few decades.

Emerald Hill Cafe catered our son's 1st birthday party in the park. They did such a wonderful job! Everything was delicious, arrived hot and on time, and everyone left the party raving about the food. Katerina was great to work with. She helped me pick the menu and was flexible about what they could offer, taking into account specific dietary requirements. We will absolutely use Emerald Hill again for future parties or events.
