If you want to have a good, or even a very good coffee ...
This is the place to go.
Imagine, having your own gigantic in-house coffee roaster and your coffee is not that good?
Thank God this place is good, very good.
When it comes to coffee, precision and consistency are the key, the word "precision" is clearly stated on their takeaway coffee cups too.
Yes, their pastry and food are good too. Formidable menu and it comes with a bottomless coffee now, how good is that.
For dining in, must reserved prior arrival (on Instagram) post Covid-19.
Enjoy.

What you should order: prawn squid ink croquettes
*
Review: I honestly first stumbled upon veneziano in the leafy suburbs of surry hills. The branch at Richmond was originally a coffee roasting warehouse but it has since rightfully evolved into a full-fledged brunch place a year ago.
Coffee was obviously excellent - quite aligned with their tagline of finding coffee that people would talk about. Similar to most places, coffee in a cup does get cold pretty quickly, so I always ask for it to be extra hot to counter that risk.
It really depends on what you order here and to me, the prawn and squid croquette was a clear winner! Pickled cabbage, paired with well-executed croquette was a breath of fresh air to the Melbourne brunch scene. The river street Benedict was also pretty good - well-executed potato rosti and very fresh smoked salmon. Portions were just enough for me, but perhaps a bit too little for a hungry man!
All in all, I love the cafe ambience (large coffee warehouse space where you can watch coffee beans being roasted). Service was also pretty good. It’s been a while since I had a commendable brunch, so I call this a #citaymusteat

What a beautiful venue, perfect for a great work meeting with coffee being roasted in the background, delicious food and great music, just all around good vibes 💖!

I loved this place. Tucked away in Richmond in a massive coffee roasting warehouse. I loved the layout, the deco and the atmosphere, it was right up my street. It looks like they also do coffee classes, I would say it’s worth a visit just to look inside!
The staff were ace, the food was tasty and I full enjoyed my brunch!
We ordered the broccoli which came with a green hummus with add ons of mushrooms and poached eggs. Both eggs were perfect. And the broccoli was well cooked and seasoned.
The pancakes were MEGA. Full stack of sweetness. The pancakes were fluffy, the caramel sauce was sweet and sticky, the snow foam was delicious and a nice addition.
Both dishes looked fab, both tasted great and the whole brunch was the quality I expect in Melbourne.
Would definitely visit again, even if it’s just for a coffee and a sit in a very impressive cafe.
Beautifully designed, spacious and open. It’s a venue you want to take out-of-towners to check out the Melbourne coffee roasting scene.
There are clear windows you can see all the roasting going on, and also learning stations.
There’s also a very interesting all day menu, with something for everyone.
The house filter comes in a handle-less ceramic mug. Looks good, but a little hot to hold.
It’s fruity, and a little on the sour side, but there’s a range of other beans to choose from.
The roastery café is a little bit difficult to get to, but worth driving to for the experience.
Great space. Easy parking. Good service. Coffee on the weak side.
Batch brew coffee is really good. Chilli scrabbles eggs and baked eggs are the ones to go for. They are so delicious. Staff were friendly and the whole place looks gorgeous!

This is really a roasting house that has a wonderful trade of regulars and passerbys who enjoy good coffee ad their cafe section. You can sit and watch how the coffee is roasted and how the process works. There are barristas' everywhere plus there is a coffee tasting room.
Today I had a burger with chips and pickles on the side. Very nice. Good portion size and fresh tasting ingredients. My friend had the scrambled eggs which were good as well.Did find the menu a little limiting though.
Staff are very helpful and seem to know many of their regulars by name. Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly. Pram/stroller accessible. Reasonable parking. Dietaries catered for. Takeaway food available .
This was a good experience!
I only found this through researching good coffee places as this venue is tucked away in a side street in a semi- industrial area and I’m so glad that I went there.
It is where the coffee is roasted on a very large scale and the cafe area I’ve very large as well with a good modern ambience and friendly service.
I tried the cold drip coffee first which was good and then the food, which was well presented and very yummy. Followed by an espresso that was superb, while my wife had a very good chai tea.
We will be back!
Super cool boutique coffee bean roastery tucked in behind the Yarra trail. The coffee has a wonderful depth of flavour. You can look at the roasting machinery behind a window which is a nice touch.
This venue is massive and it has a micro roastery which means they roast their beans themselves on-site which leads to a fantastic coffee being served. The venue itself is super spacious and the high ceilings and decor make it a fantastic place to sit down and relax. They have a few pastries on site to enjoy with your coffee as well. Would recommend and would definitely come back
Overall nice cafe with a wonderful organic industrial interior. I went with a friend on Saturday at lunch time. Parking was easy to find and service was quite fast which is a plus. I had the chicken + corn dish and a coffee. Chicken was tasty but the corn was a bit awkward to eat. The coffee was decent but the taste could have been a little bit stronger
I enjoyed the varieties of coffee, and food and service were also good. We had a couple of very helpful attentive staff helping us buy some coffee which was appreciated. It has a good vibe, and the venue is big, full of natural light with high ceilings and industrial decor and very clean. Definitely an option whenever I’m in the area.
I had a barista brekkie consisting of 3 coffee beverages done in 3 ways: espresso, milk based and filter. Each cup was from a different microlot and the quality was outstanding. Barista’s execution was flawless and each cup was more delicious than the next.
The experience as a whole could have been much better though. The space is huge and you feel lost in it when sitting at a small bar in front of the barista station. He had no time to chat about these wonderful coffees due to the fast customer traffic. It’s great that the cafe is so busy but offering these specialty coffee experiences requires a dedicated approach. Aunty Peg, Ona and other smaller brew bars in Melbourne succeeded in this and I am sure Veneziano can too
Veneziano Coffee is a beautiful indoor space with good outdoor seating options too. A large cabinet of treats and the menu here has improved a lot since my last visit 3 years ago. The food is actually worth a visit for now! Coffee here is ok too. Service has also improved and is friendly now and prompt. Worth a visit
Got a takeaway coffee.
The taste and smell of the coffee were excellent.
Good roastery.
Fantastic, more than a 3rd wave coffee place the food and staff are top notch. The coffee is great, they have a huge variety and lots of detail, including tasting notes making the experience more like a cellar door than a Cafe. The food is great and very well priced (if anything it is cheaper than expected given the quality), the staff are very knowledgeable and friendly and the space is well thought out with a cool yet friendly vibe.
If you are a coffee fan or just want a good brunch place to visit, give Veneziano a go.
