Review Fratelli Paradiso - Sydney

Damien Chan
The flavour of the food was delicious especially the scampi pasta and the passion fruit custard dessert. On the downside the serving size for the scampi was small and probably not worth $45 for the main meal. The rib eye was ok but I’ve had better ones for that price eg $140.

We had a group of several people in our booking and the venue was able seat us very well. Everything we ordered came out in a timely manner and the quality was amazing. The atmosphere was very cosmopolitan and stylish. Parking can be tricky but worth the walk!

Service was awesome, thanks Isabella!! Fish was cooked to perfection and dessert was very yummy.

Fine dinning. Fantastic food. Even in the lunchtime still very busy . Long waiting for service

Good foods which i can rate 3 out of 5. The calamari and homemade pasta are freat, the cauliflowers were a bit oily. The restaurant is nice but it s a bit dark and noisy to enjoy our meal

An institution for the inner city; Potts Point/Darlinghurst. Located on Challis Street; THE eat Street in 2011. Great Italian menu. Huge Italian wine list from every region in Italy. Service was good, atmosphere was good; prefect for a date place. Parking is not great.

Loved the meals we had, the taste was excellent and the pasta perfectly cooked. The staff was so energetic, efficient and polite. It has a posh vibe and more of a contemporary menu, where ingredients like scampi, crab, angus beef and squid ink-pasta were served. Nevertheless the flavour and the taste remains excellent and satisfies my italian food cravings. Would come back for more.

We had a bit of a confusing start to the evening when they didn’t seem to find our booking in their system. Nevertheless they still managed to get us a table and the rest of the dinner was amazing! The service here is awesome as the staff was very attentive and friendly. The ambience was very intimate and seems like a great place for dates. In regards to the food - out of the 3 entrees we had definitely the calamari was the highlight - it was probably the best fried calamari I’ve ever had. Finally for mains we had the roast pork and the scampi spaghetti, both of the dishes were absolute A grade - the pork was beautifully seasoned and moist and the spaghetti was cooked al dente and the sauce was jam packed full of flavour. It was also complemented with some beautiful wine from the waiter.

Gorgeous upmarket Italian - hugely popular with queues for Sunday brunch. It's fine dining at its best - ie superb flavours but not 'up itself' in terms of service.

The Uova Strapazzate is a delight - scrambled egg, confit tomato chutney, basil, cacioricotta, baguette. Emphasis on fresh and organic - so don't expect huge portions for your $20. Ditto the Frutta (fruit salad) - peach, nectarine, plum, mint served with yogurt at $17.

Love it - as do so many other Potts Point residents!

Sydney on a Saturday night at just before 10:00pm and it is real slim pickings! This was the fourth or fifth place we tried and their kitchen was still open. Had the veal and beef lasagna that tasted decent but the serving was far too small for $26. It was more of an entree size than a main. The lasagna and a couple of bottles no name Italian beers came to over $50 which seemed a little excessive. Like I said - slim pickings.

A quaint little French bistro at Potts point. It’s always packed. They make their bread fresh and the service is top notch. The food here was really great and the coffee is the best. Definitely one of my favourite breakfast places in Sydney.

Fratelli Paradiso has been around for a long time and there is good reason for that. The food is very good and always seasonal. I like that the menu changes constantly according to what is around at the time. Fratelli Paradiso serves modern Italian food that makes you want to book a trip to Italy. #fratelliparadiso #italianfood

Disappointing that the place had a nice ambiance and lighting. However overpriced for the quality. The bread was hard and not fresh. Risotto undercooked. Beef tartare had the texture of mince from a packet in the supermarket. All very small portions.

Good Italian food , portions were perfect ! I indulged a bit to try both the pasta (duck ! Oh my goodness ir was good!!) and the lasagna and I loved it.

They might improve the Pinot Noir selection in my opinion but the food was so good !

Don’t forget to enjoy the delicious so scented olive oil they bring with the bread ... yummm!!

Service is so so friendly they make you feel so welcome and you can spend a great evening here. Great for families or even a romantic dinner.
My favourite Sydney restaurant. Simple, pure good Italian food. Not fussy. Great vibe and usually a Labour politician or two! Everything is super fresh and traditional.

How do you say "taking the piss" in Italian?

NOT THE PLACE IF YOURE HUNGRY

Had the risotto and it was yum
But......
It was a flat plate with a thin layer of rice squished to be quite flat

For $35 (approx) most people would expect a larger serving

Overpriced for what was served

Had to go home and eat dinner again

Summer in a plate! The team at Fratelli Paradiso is super friendly and make you feel in Italy. The food is honest and simple. Great ingredients, nothing to hide! The burrata is a must and you will make no mistake by ordering any pasta dish.

The food I ordered was delicious. That was the reason I returned. However, some of the staff are not very nice and the customer service is poor. We were told that the items we were ordering were very expensive the way we wanted. Hello! Not once, but a few times when we insisted to have them. They didn’t put water, salt or pepper on the table. There were no smiles for us. Our order was served on the same plate, even though we were two people ordering different things. My friend is vegetarian and because his culture no pork or beef food is acceptable. His order was on a small plate with my order, which contains pork items. They have only one size of coffee. We were left hungry for more coffee. By the time the food came the coffee was long gone. The customer service experience was bad. We are not returning.

Excuse the blurry photos. Came here for dinner and it was great! For entree we ordered stracciatella with tomatoes - this is a type of soft cheese. It was a really nice and refreshing flavour combo, which went well with the other dish we ordered which was a cured meat. We also ordered the calamari entree, which came with a tasty sauce. For main, we ordered the mushroom risotto, lasagna, and pappardelle with ragu. The tastiest pasta was definitely the risotto, followed by the lasagna. The pappardelle was a bit bland, I don't think it has enough ragu. For dessert we also had tiramisu which everyone loved, but I'm not really a tiramisu person! Would return

When a joint offers only a handful of choices for brekky, more often than not, you are in for a treat. We were greeted warmly n immediately upon entering, water, glasses n menu on the table after ordering drinks. One of the lady waitstaff patiently explained what was on the menu as we were fish out of water when it came to italian. Service 4/5.

They gotta be real confident when there is only a single egg item on the menu, the frittatina (4/5). And a veg omelette at that (groans*). Zucchini, its flowers, some herbs n pecorino cheese. Such a delicate dish, yet full of flavour. The piadina (3.75/5) wasnt far behind. A kind of ham and cheese toasted wrap filled w creamy stracchino cheese rocket n olive. The panino (4/5) was another winner. Call it a divine sausage n egg roll w cotechino sausage lettuce n balsamic bbq sauce.

Make it your brekky destination. Or dinner, with a similarly focussed menu. Cant wait to return.

Had lunch here today and were a bit disappointed. Calamari was nice enough but nothing special, lasagna had no flavour and was burnt both on the bottom layer and the top layer. Service was almost nonexistent. Food wasn’t worth the money we paid.

If there's one dish that's not moving from the menu it's the calamari Sant'Andrea. And thank goodness. Deep fried squid might be a dime a dozen across Sydney, but few reach this level of perfect simplicity. There's just the right amount of crunch to the barely there batter, cloaked around extraordinarily fresh and tender squid.

Great ambience and history a true sydney institution from breakfast to dinner with service second to none. Scampi Pasta a must and try the cafe next door during the day

Went to Fratelli Paradiso for a Sunday dinner. We were given a table with no wait time. The waiter was helpful with the menu but was juggling 4 differnet tables and left service as something to be desired.. Food tasted nice, however the proportions were on the smaller side. The greens were also very expensive for the amount that was given (see photo). The tiramisu was very delightful!

Came on a Sunday night after reading good reviews. There wasn’t a queue and we got a table promptly. Menu was simple and just one page. Food took a while to make but it tasted authentic. Portions were not the largest but we were decently full. Tiramisu was on point, probably the best we had. The waiter was helpful with recommending menu choices but wasn’t the most attentive. All in all, a pleasant experience for a chill night.

This restaurant has been on my list for a long time as many friends have recommended this place. I wanted to take my mum here to try their tiramisu and it sure did not disappoint.

We came here around 11.35am so sat inside for to relax and chat while we waited for lunch service which started
at 12. Once we ordered, they brought out some bread with oil and then I ordered their scampi spaghetti which was tasty but not sure I would order that again if I was to go there again as I preferred my mums tagliolini with squid ink pasta, crab and chilli. We also ordered their salad but it didn’t come out even when we were more than half way through the pastas so we just cancelled the order. We were both getting full anyway and had high expectations waiting for their tiramisu and it was delicious! Just the right amount of sweetness, richness and bitterness.

Glad we got to try this place and tick it off my list.

New favourite place in Sydney, unfortunately it does not take bookings. The ragu was really rich and the steak cooked perfectly. Extensive wine menu, which the wait staff are well versed in recommendations.

Tucked away in the quaint Potts point is this lovely place! A friend of ours in Sydney says that this place has a home in his heart, and boy he wasn't wrong! Scampi pasta was delicious, so was the ragu we had. Tiramisu was the best we have had so far too! Only complaint would be the portion.. could've had a few more mouthfuls!
Ms Picky On Coffee
It is one of the popular restaurant in Potts Point by both locals and regular visitors. Looks always full during breakfast, lunch and dinner! Friendly and accomodating stuff, humble decor and honest food! Their dishes are always consistent. And best tiramisu in Sydney! Only downside would be size of portions. If they add 2-3 spoons more to every dish, that would be Paradiso for every customer:)
Ragazzo Tricolore
My once a week local. Awesome Italian in an awesome neighbourhood. Amazing food, superb wine list, great service. The thing I love most is that Fratelli is modern yet has all the traditions you expect. This place is a must.
Leon
I ordered the recommended scampi spaghetti. I liked how the seafood and tomato sauce combined superbly with the spaghetti and the scampi. However, this dish was not too difficult and you could probably do it at home too.
Kristina
Always love returning to Fratelli for some fresh bread, pasta & dessert :) a classic restaurant, always well staffed & served, frequently on my to-visit-again list.

I feel like a fool for previously having made my tiramisu the cheaters way, the horrible way for so many years, but now I know after one mouthful of Fratelli's how it's meant to be. My meal at Fratelli's was my last on a short trip eating my way around Sydney. I had a plane to catch, looked like a windswept bag lady after a day on the harbour, but was treated like a princess, and served extremely promptly with old school class. I came for the scampi spaghetti and was not disappointed. Perfect. I took off with the linen napkin as I leapt out to the footpath to grab my Uber driver before he drove off. Sorry. Will return it personally in 8 weeks.

Being from Italian heritage with multiple trips back home, I can easily say Fratelli Paradiso is one of the best Italian restaurants in Sydney. Visiting Fratelli Paradiso has become a near weekly occasion for family and friends. The wine list compliments the menu and always has a wonderful vibe.

Hi

I went to Fratelli Paradiso on the recommendation of a friend.

It wasn't good. I'm vegetarian & there was one choice on the menu I could have, and that was an entree. The waiter said the chef 'could cook something up' which didn't inspire confidence at all - not a lot of thought, commitment or even basic respect.

I'm vegetarian as I worked in a chicken slaughter factory - it's my choice not to eat meat & I don't force that choice on anyone else ... but we're nearly in 2017, not 1977. Whenever I experience something like this (thankfully rarely these days) I know there's a couple of reasons:

1. The chefs can't cook
2. They can't be bothered/aren't interested
3. They lack passion & drive

It's really lazy.

We ended up leaving & when I told the waiter he said we had to pay $5 for the water we'd ordered. Talk about an insult after an injury!

We ended up going to Yellow around the corner - I was with my 75-year old Mum & Aunt - & we proceeded to have one of the best meals we'd ever had. It was a really lucky break.

However our lucky break doesn't excuse poor menu choices or bad service. As said, it's nearly 2017 & Fratelli Paradiso think it's acceptable that vegetarians are 2nd class customers? Not good enough not to have an informed menu?

Sorry to be rude but they can't call themselves a good restaurant - it's bloody appalling & the worst experience I've had in quite some time.

A friendly and unpretentious restaurant that serves amazing food through impeccable service! Thoroughly enjoyed soaking up the relaxed atmosphere while sipping on wine. The kingfish crudo had excellent flavour and texture. The clam and spanner crab tagliolini was well-portioned and perfect in taste. The duck ragu tagliatelle was also delicious and full of flavour. Can't wait to go back!

One of the better Fratelli's on offer. The location is nicely settled Into the Potts Point night life scene seamlessly

The wait time and service can be a bother with limited and very tight seating available.

The food was nice and well presented but could possibly do with some reinvigoration as I felt this was more of the same over the many years they've been around, just a point I noted
Thomia
I absolutely love this place! European feel! Gorgeous staff! The bread is amazing and our meals didn't disappoint! A touch of class! Usually busy at lunch but we managed to get a table! Well worth it!

Fratelli Paradiso was one of my favourite places - it was my first thought to take my parents who were visiting from interstate for an authentic and delicious Italian meal.

Entree and wine were superb - however, mum and I both ordered the risotto and the prawn was unfortunately non-existent and the dish tasteless. Was also disappointed with how the staff received the feedback when we let them know about the dish.

Would still go there as i love the atmosphere and usually the food has been such a high standard, but was a shame it didn't live up to my rave reviews on this occasion.

This place was the highlight of the day. I wasn't sure where to for lunch and many good places are not open on Tue. The food here are authentic Italian. Short lunch menu and extended wine list. Cannot be better. Service was so friendly that they even altered the menu a bit to make my friend more comfortable.
I am sure it will be my revisit list in the area.

I normally write about new places I go to on this blog, but in this post I’m sharing a much-loved restaurant that my family and I go to over and over again – because it’s amazing!. Fratelli Paradiso in Potts Point (not to be confused by Fratelli Fresh down the road). The menu at Fratelli Paradiso changes a lot, but you can always be sure that there’s a great selection of Italian entrees, pasta and mains. I think one of their signature dishes is a pasta dish with scampi (my mum always gets that) but I prefer going for the dishes that don’t stay on the menu for long.

Great Italian in Potts Point. Do not be put off by the tight space, the food is excellent, the staff are quick and enthusiastic. There is a delightful ambience as the staff create music with Italian greetings and descriptions throughout the restaurant. We were appreciative of a table on a busy day (no reservations) and thoroughly enjoyed the food. We will return again.

This was the best Italian food I've ever had in my life. The service is one of the best I've ever had in Australia. I came here because of the ratings and they really do rate highly. I recommend this restaurant to all. I will be back next time in the kings cross.

You may have to wait for a table but it is worth it for a great local Italian joint with sexy Italian waiters. Love the place, love the food, love the wine list. Always the first place on my list for dinner when I'm back in Sydney.

Came in as a walk in for one. Had the seafood risotto that was delicious in flavor just lacked a little bit of color. A small herb on the top would add that green to the dish. The panna cotta was also really good to end the meal. Very good food and very good service as well.

Went here for anniversary with wife. Rhonda recommended caffe e cucina which we loved in Melbourne. My wife and I went out of our way to go here. Best decision we made. Duck ragu was the bomb. One of my all time favourite meals;)

I always enjoy my visit to Fratelli Paradiso as it is one of my fav restaurant in Sydney. Great meals in here! My favorite is still scampi spaghetti. Tiramisu is one of the best I've ever had in my life. Spritz is also great. They don't take reservation unfortunately and you just got to wait. It's worth it though.

MOLTO MOLTO BENE. Forget what you think is Italian food. Fratelli Paradiso is the real deal. Just like eating at Nonna's the ragazzi here will treat you like famiglia and leave you feeling full and ever so special. Wine list is fantastic and the space is nice and cosy.

Head to Fratelli Paradiso in Potts Point for an epic pasta feast of spaghetti with grilled scampi, rich Tagliatelle ragu or the ridiculously tasty Lasagnetta bolognese!
Giulio Lella
Very nice ambiance, wait staff with the authentic Italian flair (as an Italian, I can tell). Flavoursome food, good range of wines. The only two things I could point our are: portions a little small, interiors a little dark. Other than that, a positive experience.
JR
Great ambience and service. Food was quite amazing - awesome quality. Portions of some of the mains a bit small. Order the 1kg meat dish to ensure you don't go home hungry!

Not necessarily a place I'de recommend or go back to. Went here for a group dinner, the food was really good, flavorful and presented well but service is exceptionally slow. Not the kind of slow that flows in a nice evening out but slow in the way that you wonder if they maybe can't handle the number of orders or if they are trying too hard to make the food seem special. When the food does come flavors are great but portions tiny. Very cramped dining area too, which I suppose does make the ambiance buzz more but I personally prefer to eat a bit more comfortably. Nothing really stood out for me to remember this place.

Sydneysiders are often possessed with FOMO, flocking to new restaurants and fads like moths to a flame. Sadly, I can’t say that I’m exempt from this sweeping generalization. And the most unfortunate part is that more mature eateries like Fratelli Paradiso are sometimes overlooked. It’s taken me way too long to get here. And it was often because the restaurant doesn’t take bookings. Regardless, I made it, and I liked it so much that I went again the following weekend. It’s a busy, busy place in Potts Point, so get there early to avoid a long wait for a table.

We love this place. Have been here numerous times. Pork belly is always good as was the Pork Salad for mains not to mention the Salmon Salad. We ordered the Prosciutto De Palma & the Polenta Gorgonzola as an entree along with a couple of bottles of Pommery which was cheaper than most restaurants considering what you can get it for down at the local bottle shop.

Only qualms were I asked for the Pork Salad without currants which they couldn't do which makes me think it's all pre-made which isn't overly appealing. Also we noticed how tired the restaurant is looking. This included the seating, the dirty ceiling near the air con vents and just a general look of fatigue......in need of an update.

Perfect food! Wonderful atmosphere! Friendly staff~ Have a great lunch with friends there! Strongly recommend the scampi spaghetti and tiramisu! But the pudding is a little bit toooooo sweet......

I had often walked past the row of restaurants here - often not clear which was which but a friend took me here for dinner on Tuesday night. The staff were great, knowledgeable on the wines and the menu but not overbearing (friendly and professional). The menu was limited but worked very well - focusing on a few dishes done very well, and my friend said changed regularly. Personally I am torn between Australian having amazing wines that we do not need to promote European wines (it would not happen in France or other places to see Aussie wines on their wine lists so why to we have to promote foreign wines here????). That said, the Italian Pinot Grigio we had worked so well with the Italian dishes that it makes me sometimes forget my quest to get more places to only stock Aussie wines....I would highly recommend a visit and to try some of the dishes outside your comfort zone of regular Italian dishes that you may be used to....

I'm surprised I haven't heard about this cafe sooner! We came here for breakfast and the poached egg, quinoa and cured salmon was just excellent! The poached eggs were cooked perfectly and deliciously gooey and warm on the inside, the quinoa and fish were seasoned well and the flavours were very well balanced. Would definitely return here! Service was great too 👌

Quite a small restaurant and the food served is quite fast. However the taste of it is just average. As for the service is still acceptable.

Really tasty food at affordable prices . Attentive service and nice wine list . Been around for a while , so is very busy but surprisingly not crazy noisy . Great buzzy restaurant in good location . Theres just something about Fratelli !

Well well well, dinner at Potts Point, with a lovely after dinner walk along the water, it does sound like a really pleasant evening indeed, it was a great evening of course! (Till the bit where we did not manage to get a hold of the 311 bus back into the city and had to take a taxi, the walk was great though, really great.) We caught a bus from the city, past Woolloomoolo Bay and the navy warf, stopped a stop after and walked to the restaurant. This place is located in one of the smaller streets, it was dark at night, and took a little bit of an effort to find the front door. But once we found it, it was all smooth and comfortable for the rest of the evening.

A Sydney Icon if you ask me! All Potts Point locals LOVE F. Paradiso .The food is out of this world good, the drinks selection is great and the service is so knowledgable and personable . If you haven't been - GO!!

This Potts Point eatery is as sexy as a plate of prosciutto and figs being ravished by Monica Bellucci. With almost ten years under it’s belt and a consistent clientele of Sydney’s too-cool chic, Fratelli Paradiso has become an Italian hotbed for those looking for gusto in their Italian fare, effervescently charming service and super-slick surrounds.

This dish looks beautiful. The aesthetics are perfect with the deep greeness of the peas and asparagus, the bright oily orange of the salmon and those light and the somewhat transparent egg whites with the yellow yolks gleaning from the inside awaiting their freedom from their encased pouch to run amok on this dish. I approach the dish with care, poking the eggs to release the yolk from its captivity. Its flows onto the salmon casting a translucent yellow sticky glaze over it.

Forever spoiled. OMG!! Just had a "when Harry met Sally" moment when I slipped my spoon into the indescribable panna cotta.
I will from here on in be forever disappointed unless I am eating this dish from this resturant .
I am from Melbourne, and trust me, it's worth a visit just for this desert.
( the other courses were also fab, but the panna cotta... Just give it a try and I dare you to disagree)

Lunch at Fratelli Paradiso. Extremely hard to find parking on weekends. Expect a long wait, especially weekends. -- The Food -- Prawn fried and drizzled with oil. Absolutely loved the prawns. Cooked to perfection. Soaked the bread in the oil to polish off the dish. There was a strong shellfish flavour in the sauce Milanese Pork Wow I never imagined pork to be this tasty. The crumb was seasoned well. Pork was tender and juicy on the inside. Absolutely loved this dish Although hard to find parking and long wait, I would definitely come back for more food! I also had the tiramisu (but forgot to take a photo), which was divine. I just wish they gave me a larger slice!

Don’t be fooled, this may be the older sister to the Fratelli Fresh’s casual eating pasta clan, but the pasta here is a league of it’s own.

The Fiorentina is a large T-bone. At Fratelli, it’s 1kg in weight and designed for two people. One of these babies and a few sides, and we were in business. When we ordered this in Florence, we got one each. Major fail. Two girls with nearly two kilos of meat. Like in Italy, a bowl of crunchy Bread makes it way to the table after we order our meal. Sea Salt and Olive Oil being the perfect accompaniments. The bread is baked at the small bakery that sits alongside the restaurant. The Bakery do a fantastic pizza by the slice, croissants and Italian donuts filled with jam. Check out my post here of brunch at Fratelli Paradiso . Mineral water. T

The veal cutlet itself is beautiful with the smoke from the wrath of the pan leaving a discernible impact while the caramelisation of the skin and the salt which gels together to make the perfect the crust defines the dish. The succulent juices stay within the meat to provide the full flavour of the veal on every bite.

It’s a restaurant with a café look on the outside, murals on the wall, gorgeous dark wooden tables, a menu in Italian written in chalk on a blackboard (the waiters explain it to you, with a cute Italian accent, so there are no surprises), and a stunner of an Italian wine list (hand selected by the owners on their frequent visits to Italy). Fratelli is a cultural icon, its quality Italian food, casual limited fuss atmosphere and a gorgeous people watching spot. (Political and business luminaries typically lun
A Food Fable
t was pretty busy on a Sunday morning, but as a table for two, it wasn’t too long a wait. The menu isn’t too extensive, but the average price is $14. Eggs are organic and free range. Pastries We get seated inside and right behind D2D is this big shelf of pastries! They were very popular and lots of people were coming up to pick items for their table or do takeaway.
The Hedonist Life
If you only eat one thing here it has to be the custard doughnut, and a word to the wise last time I came I waited till after breakfast to order one and they were sold out so you best start with the doughnut if you know what’s good for you.
Champagne And Chips
I ordered the olive focaccia with mortadella, scrambled eggs, rocket and balsamic ($14) Silky eggs, paper thin rolls of flavoursome mortadella and a fluffy olive roll. J went for the Piadina – prosciutto, rocket, stracchino (a soft cows milk cheese) and balsamic ($14) Not a flattering photo but the prosciutto was perfectly salty and smoky and there were lashings of creamy cheese. We shared a little pastry for breakfast dessert Tender slices of apple on a sweet and creamy ricotta base and perfect flaky pastry. Served with nicely bitter and fragrant espresso. Top quality super-fresh food, great coffee and all the baked goods you could hope for. I need to go back to Sydney now simply to go for dinner

Though it’s been a while, the food is exactly as I remember it. Beautiful, simple, quite traditional and delicious. The Scampi with Pasta has been on the menu for as long as I remember and difficult to resist.

The first day we arrived here we had dinner at Fratelli Paradiso in Challis St, Potts Point, then I think we ate there every night for the next week. We love that it is a simple, yet modern trattoria and has an uncomplicated menu that you can easily mix and match without waiters making a fuss. They're always happy for us to eat "family style" which you kind of want to do if you're eating there every night! The wine recommendations were great, and I have to say that the scampi linguini which was also a house recommendation is cooked to perfection and a winner in my eyes.

We turned down a popular café street and ended up at Fratelli Paradish, one of the many Fratelli spin offs. I’m not sure why we picked this café as the first, but you have got to start somewhere! Like any Fratelli, it has that great looking wine bar style and by the wait crowd for a table, a great place to be seen (and eat?), even at 10am on a Sunday morning.
Sydneycool
Fratelli Paradiso has been serving great coffee for many years and one of the few places that have not wavered from their ideals of perfect coffee, food and service.
Please Sir Can I Have Some More
There is no menu just daily specials read out by the handsome Italian waiters, usually 2/3 hot dishes, fruit dish and a porridge or muesli surprise.

Fratelli Paradiso is... unique. I have a limited experience with dining and I've never been to a place like this.
Food Booze Shoes
Fratelli Paradiso is the decade-plus veteran Italian eatery in Potts Point, not be be confused with the numerous Fratelli Fresh and their eateries, Café Sopra . Well known for its all-day Italian offerings, Fratelli Paradiso has garnered scores of local and other fans over the years of their casul, laidback yet sophisticated café/ trattoria offerings. Blackboard menu at Fratelli Paradiso, Challis Avenue, Potts Point In the evening, the tables and chairs spilling onto the footpath are the first to fill, while the dark, intimate settings inside get packed throughout the night. The locals and regulars seem to know the drill and the restaurant seems to have little issue at all with its no reservations policy or Italian-only blackboard menu. No idea how this place would have such a high rating.
The service is vey professional.
The food however - no love.
Cursory garnishes like two, 2 mm slices of mini courgette do not constitute a garnish, never mind a mention in the dish's description.
Luckily there were two slices, so we each got one.
In a place like Potts point, it could make sense that the sheer cost of renting a chair could render a dining experience so abstract and removed from the basic tenets of eating.
The food was downright sterile.
The best thing about the ravioli which were otherwise tasteless and dry is the tinned San Marzano tomato of which there is about 40 grams barely supporting the six dry ravioli.
Ambience is ok, good waiters.
Portions are very small, produce very basic, and sterile.

Amore!!!. I bloody love this place. Food is always delicious with top quality produce and staff go above and beyond. It's also such a sexy atmosphere with all those accents floating around.

Stunning meal. The only thing I can say is you have to come here and try their Lasagna and Scampi Spaghetti! They are the best and I will definitely go back to this restaurant just for those two dishes anytime I visited Sydney.

Authentic Italian and Best Risotto Ever. I'm not usually one to order vegetarian, let alone risotto, but I was recommended this dish and it was fabulous! Served perfectly al dente with a great hit of the sharp reggiano cheese. The wine list is extensive and the service brilliant. The waiters really know their wine, so tell them what you like and they'll suggest the best. We finished our (very) long lunch with the cheese and a spearmint mousse, or maybe it was a more fluffy panna cotta- whatever- it was delightful. I will definitely be back.

Always marvellous !. It's really sad reading the review below this one - complaining about undercooked pasta ! The pasta here is special and al dente. It is perfect. Those that do not like pasta cooked like this can visit one of the infinite fast Italian places across Sydney that will kindly serve you soggy pasta.

The service at Fratelli is grand and the cocktails exquisite. And all affordable.

I have just left fratelli paradiso, feeling very uncomfortable and disappointed with my evening. My mum received a very undercooked plate of pasta, she contemplated not saying anything but as I tried some it was in edible. We kindly requested another plate, which then came back the same! Considering the cost of the dish and the proportion size we felt it appropriate to let the waiters know what had happened (at no point pushing a free dish or even a substitute). Another waiter saw our confusion and after some time decided to offer my mother something else. From this point on we had 3 different waiters serving us, all with a forced politeness and feeling of inconvenience. As customers we felt the overall experience was uncomfortable.

In summary, I would in no way go back. The food is not good enough to risk that sort of (and I can't put it any other way) AWKWARD experience.

Portions were also a joke - heads up on the lasagna: there are two sheets of pasta and that is all I can say about that!

Have you been to Italy ? Or Melbourne even . Well if you've been to Italy you'll know that this food is osteria food - basic , simple . And basic and simple shouldn't come at this price . And if it does , please put more than 2 new potatoes on my plate . Yes 2 .
And the contorni - vegetables - broccolini literally 3 spears or was it 4.
Nah sorry typical Sydney hype.
Boring .
Over priced .
Sydney .
And every glass of wine is at least 12 bux and over . A glass .

Italians do do it better . But in Italy . Not in Potts point .

Loved everything about Fratelli Paradiso. Love this place. As the food is always excellent and never disappointed as no matter what I order I'm always impressed. Ragu, lasagne, Breakfast is amazing. Recently took a friend to Fratelli Paradiso and she loved it so much that no matter where she eats out she always compares other restaurants to Fratelli, as she never realised what she had been missing out on. Its also very cool & hip nested in Potts Point.

True Italian. This is one of our favourite places to dine. Its easy, comfortable and you're always guaranteed to have a great meal. The scampi and the homemade lasagne are a must!!! The service is fantastic by wait staff with authentic Italian accents that add to the whole experience.

Average food, poor service. I went to this restaurant on a recommendation of a friend. I had the veal and vanilla ice cream mousse, it was good, but not great. The atmosphere was rushed and the waiters were rude. Overall, not worth going to.

Some of the most authentic Italian food I've had outside of Italy. I occasionally try different dishes on the menu, all amazing, but find it hard to overlook the lasagnetta. Great choice of Italian (mostly) wines too.

Tasty breakfast. We only came here for breakfast, but the unusual and tasty meals on offer might entice us back next time we're in Sydney. The service wasn't super-fast, but they were busy and we weren't in a rush, so we didn't mind. The coffee was great, as was the food.

Like I said. Nothing special.

Best Tiramasu. Food was so tasty and delicious and I cannot even tell you in words how the Tiramasu was.. best I have ever had and best thing I have ever eaten!

Delicious!. I have eaten here on a number of occasions and always loved it. Had lunch here a few weeks ago and it was so delicious. Friendly service with tasty, rustic food made with the best quality ingredients.

Absolutely shocking service. We entered the restaurant and was told by the front of house in charge of seating that there would be a 20min wait, approximately and were sat at the bar. The minutes kept rolling by, and we witnessed every single person arriving long after us being seated at a table before we were. The front of house kept reassuring us that a table would be ready soon but kept offering the table to other patrons arriving after Us. One hour later, we could no longer wait and left to eat down the road at monopole, where we were promptly offered a seat by the lovely man who attended to our needs.
I will never visit this restaurant again. Unfortunate that we couldn't try the food but the poor service by the front of house has completely deterred me. I was disgusted. Not to mention the rushed atmosphere we felt with staff running around like made chooks.

If you demand good food and great service, then you will find it in abundance at this must see cafe. You must not miss this one.

Garbage. Arrived at 6:50pm and seated straight away. We weren't given the drinks menu for 15 mins. After getting that, it was another 15 mins before we saw the waiter again. Drinks took about 20 mins to arrive. We weren't asked for our food order until 8pm! By the time our food arrived, I was starving. My lasagne was the size of a lite n easy frozen meal. For $22, I expected a lot more. Left straight after my meal. Overall...extremely disappointed at the wait times and meal sizes. Left feeling ripped off and angry. I won't be back.

Overrated. Very disappointing dining experience! At least 20mins before we even got a wine list. The menu was barely legible on the chalk board and the waiter was so condescending when asked questions about the dishes, we almost walked out then and there! To top it all off, everything we ate was drowning in cheese....hold the pasta! Don't believe the hype about this restaurant!

The thing I love about fratelli is they stay absolutely true to Italian cuisine and yet make it interesting and unpredictable. Awesome!

Amazing!!!. Fratelli Paradiso has incredible food! My risotto was perfectly cooked, the calamari was delicious too, the white wine couldn't have been better and an incredible chocolate cake with ice cream and cherry sauce. Wow wow wow!!!!
I have been to so many disappointing Italian restaurants in Sydney that this was such a nice surprise. Another good thing about it is that is not as expensive as other top restaurants in Sydney so I love it and I can't wait to come back.
The only bad little thing is that is too crowed and you sit so closely to each other that you hear everyone's conversations.... But... Whatever!

Very good. This restaurant was very decent, like i enjoyed it majorly, and had a great time. the staff were italian which reminded me of a small town in sicily. also the food was somewhat authentic, creating a vibrant atmosphere. furthermore i loved the displayed menu on the wall, as it added a rustic touch
thank you so much

Delicious!!. I hadn't been here for years and after the other night, I can't wait to go back!!

Excellent service, friendly and efficient :)

I went here with my partner on a Thursday evening. We shared the proscuitto for entree - a generous portion of beautiful parma ham and bread. I had the risotto for main course, with prawns and zucchini - most probably the tastiest risotto I've ever had!! The Italian wine list also delicious.

The atmosphere here is great, feels like you're in Italy!! It's not necessarily 'cheap and cheerful' but worth every cent :)

Definitely recommend this place for date night!!

Mr Pucci thinks it's Delicious. Loved the calamari, they popped in your mouth

Beautiful food, in a great environment with friendly staff. We had a great night.

Always a good ambience, pretty consistent food, wouldn't mind a bit more variety on the menu.

Like:). Fratelli Paradiso is a safe bet for me and my man every time HE doesn't feel like cooking (I know, he's awesome:). He lives just a short stroll from them so that's also one of the reasons but not the main one for sure.
Food is simple but great regardless of what you pick. We had the fiorentina steak for two a couple of times and it was so delicious that I couldn't help myself and chewed the last bits of meat straight off the bone (to all staff and diners amusement:) Although the dishes are bit on the pricier side (my man doesn't think so though), once in a while it won't hurt your wallet.
Staff know their thing and since the menu is written on the blackboard and in Italian they always come once you're seated and explain the menu for you (which I find time-consuming from the staff point of view but I guess that's part of why people like this place).
To sum it up, I wouldn't bring here my first date since the tables are small and sit close next to each other, but as a casual lunch and dinner it's perfect.
