Review Kingsleys Australian Steakhouse - Sydney

Cindy Warrington
Food was nice ! We had some bread and Chorizo to start with then steak and lamb for the table. I had the lamb personally, amazingly done from both texture n taste perspective. Wine was delicious!! Highly recommended. Wait staff was great and able to give valuable insights on the dishes for us to make the most difficult decisions. 😃

Hit-or-miss at every step of food & service. The Sydney Rock Oysters were a nice start. The Wagga Wagga Angus Eye Fillet was delicious! We ordered medium-rare and it was more on the rare side, but was tender and flavorful. The Grasslands Pasture-Fed Ribeye was a disappointment though – a little tough and under-seasoned. The pepper sauce was delicious but the bĂ©arnaise sauce was blander than any bĂ©arnaise from New York or Paris. Our waitress was very nice and knowledgeable, but she was also the ONLY waitstaff working the entire dinner service so everyone got little attention after their initial order. She had seating customers, taking orders, cutting bread, setting silverware, settling checks, and delivering wine. It took us an age to get our check after we finished our main courses (we skipped dessert because it took so long!). There are some gems here, but understaffing and inconsistency in quality left room for improvement.

Fantastic meat night. One of the Meatiest steak I ever had. Dry aged rib eye cooked to perfection with full of flavour. Then their baked chocolate cake is impressive. Drinks well made. I also like their fried calamari. Lovely staff and they serve halal suitable meat

Finally a restaurant, which not only serves good food but does everything that would make you revisit. I can't find anything bad about my dining experience on Saturday night. It indeed was an experience. Soon as me and my best friend walked in, we were greeted by the front of the house staff. His positive energy was contagious.. His smile and sense of humour brighten up our mood. I asked for the dry aged sirloin in medium rare. **it was medium rare. My best friend asked for the rib eye in rare and it was rare. The flavour and quality of the food was right on the mark. I honestly didn't want to finish my meal because I wanted to enjoy it for a little longer. When the wait staff approached us check how was the service, I could feel his sincerity and attention to detail. In the end, we left as happy customers and can't wait to return!

Extremely disappointed. Poor and rude service. Do not recommend. Made a reservation 1 day in advance ,was asked on the phone any special note and request. I said pls reserve 1 order of beef Wellington. Arrived the next day 10mins early, was pouring outside. No one greeted us while we waited at the front door. Waited around few mins, and were told you are early, can you wait until your reservation time. Which were 10mins away, while there were several empty table around. The manager finally greeted us at 19:30, he checked the computer and couldn't find my name. And strangely he said my reservation was cancelled. I did not get any notification at all. He seems not bothered and said doesn't matter we have a empty table for you. When I order my meal and advised that beef Wellington were sold out. The waiter said beef Wellington is limited each night, serving around 10 orders. I told him this was not mentioned on the phone, website the moment I made the reservation. Also, special request has been placed. Again, the waiter seems not bothered and said there is no such thing as special order. I end up order a pretty average rib eye steak and duck breast. Food was avaerage, price is fair . When I pay my bill, the manager clearly again not bothered with any service and dared to ask if I want to tip the team. He did not smile and thank us at all. Again ,extremely rude. Feel feel to visit if you wish to experience poor table service.

Simply amazing steak. Sister restaurant of Steersons, Kingsley's restaurant offers perfectly prepared cuts of high quality meat. There are a few vegetarian offerings, but red meat is the order of the day. There was a good albeit limited selection of wines by the glass that cover most popular varieties, but if you are ordering by the bottle there is more of a range. My Monday night visit made for a not quite formal dining experience but that in no way influenced the quality of service. Attentive and friendly staff rounded out a great dining experience.

Look... not bad. The steaks were good and the service was good. But there wasn't anything wow about it, especially for the price.

Kingsleys is your typical old skool steakhouse where you can enjoy a reasonable steak with plenty of sides and sauces to choose from. Not the best steakhouse in Sydney but good enough for a business lunch.

I went for my birthday dinner last night - food was excellent but I wasn’t offered dessert or coffee post meal, extremely dissapointing. The host was informed of the special occasion upon arrival and didn’t even wish me Happy Birthday! Would not use this place for a special date night, more like an everyday meal.

Great service, the wagyu steaks were delicious, high recommend this place! Chips could some improvement though.

Nice place, chiller full of steaks look great, fabulous wine list. But, if that was a Wagu ribeye I was served it was the worst Wagu I have ever encountered, very disappointing steak and monumentality average chips. Maybe I was unlucky, maybe their other steaks are better? But mine was very very disappointing!

Mate and I went for the kilo tbone challenge. We've done a few of these before at different establishments each time the steak usually ends up a rough bit of boot leather. This time though the steak was perfectly cooked through from start to finish, it was tender, juicy and when it was finally done I wasn't left feeling like I had just consumed 1/2 a cow. This brings me to the service which was friendly, attentive but not annoying. This isn't the place you go to every week but you wish you could.

Great venue! I had been meaning to visit for awhile now. The staff were polite and accommodating, the wine list excellent and the Beef Wellington is the best I have tasted.

Went there for a team Xmas lunch. Found a cockroach in the bottom of a glass of coke, mains took and hour and a half from when entrees were cleaned up. Wagyu was over cooked for the price you paid. Steaks were not cooked according to request. Very disappointed since we've been to other Kingsleys and rated them highly. Should have left after the cockroach incident.

The place we din here is relaxing and also not crowded beside the steak taste good.

My partner and I went to Kingsleys Steakhouse for our second anniversary dinner. The restaurant had a great atmosphere and the food was simply brilliant. A special thanks goes to our waitress, Andra, who really made the night special with her friendliness and warmth. We'll definitely be visiting again!

Being from Texas I had high expectations and they exceeded expectations!! Cheers Mates!

My husband and I have been coming for more than 10 years. We had lunch before he asked me to marry him, we had lunch there the day after our wedding and we have celebrated anniversaries too! Awesome food, great location and great staff

Top quality steak & mine was cooked to perfection!

Kingsleys is a well setup steakhouse with a decent sized menu. It is also relatively well priced and great for group or couple’s dinners. The staff are friendly and are able to offer good menu suggestions. The dessert selection is very basic, but overall not a bad experience.

Kingsley is known for the steaks so I was super excited to come and have a big feed. We were a party of 10, seated upstairs which felt very exclusive and I must commend the staff on their service. The waiter who served us was having his first shift and didn't hesitate to go ask his colleagues when he wasn't unsure of a question. <br/><br/>Dishes ordered:<br/>- Oysters (half natural & half kilpatrick)<br/>- Seared Scallops <br/>- Steak Tartare<br/>- Bone marrow <br/>- Medium rare wagyu rump <br/><br/>The scallops was probably one of the best I've ever had. Packed with flavour but so soft, it was incredible. The tartare was also lovely with the crunchy chips which complimented it beautifully. <br/><br/>Although I love pickles, I felt like the bone marrow was overpowered by the sourness. I would much prefer it on it's own. My steak was nice but I wouldn't say it's the best steak I had. I would come back to try a different cut of steak (My friends had sirloin apparently that was super soft and juicy)

A very nice place for dinner and drink. Staff was very attentive and friendly. Service was great. Steaks are cook perfectly and the wine selection was great.

The food was below than average, totally not worth the price, ribs and burgers does better than them. The service was ridiculous, I order the most expensive wagyu steak but it was not cooked evenly, half of the steak was over cooked. I told the waiter he denied and said it meant to be like that. Then he said Sorry about that and that’s all. Wtf? And when I talked to the manager he was like the same attitude, but due to my continuous response he gave us $40 off the bills and did not seem like willing to give the discount . I rather you served a perfect wagyu steak than the $40 off.

Amazing service. Place was packed, and when my food got served I realized why. The food was just crazy good. I got the Rib eye plus surf and turf prawns and wow the prawns were probably the freshest I’ve had in my life, so juicy it just explodes in your mouth! The steak was beautiful, medium rare, perfect with the set of mustard sauces served. I had no idea what those were and just kept eating because G O O D. 😂 Service was excellent too. Beautiful interiors, makes you feel at ease. Will definitely come back here when I get another chance to visit Sydney again!

I really want to eat beef Wellington.Once I found out about it, I decided to order it. The uncle was very enthusiastic. After ordering, the beef was served using a longer time than I expected. First of all, it's beautifully laid out, and then it smells nice, with layers of aroma, the meat, the mushrooms and the bread, and then it taste really nice. The whole shop is a bistro atmosphere, candlelight, and I am not the only table for one person. Even the beef is medium well, this one feels a little rare, like medium. In all, I am satisfied.

M'eh, So very very average, and quite expensive for what you get, is it common to have the prices on the menu not include GST? I thought that was a bit dodgy. Food was nice enough, wait staff where good, atmosphere was lacking. So it is definitely a M'eh from me, won't be back in a hurry.

Steak is incredible. Would even go as far as saying it’s the best steak I have ever had. Very reasonably priced, definitely value for money. Lovely staff, very helpful. Service was great. Thanks for a wonderful evening! Would recommend!

Chose this place as for a birthday and was very happy. Started with the natural oysters for entree and had the surf and turf steak for the main. Overall, a quiet and pleasant experience for a quiet birthday dinner and would gladly recommend anyone who loves a good quality steak to come by.

I have been to both the Wooloomooloo and CBD restaurants, and i found the Wooloomooloo restaurant to be far superior (not sure if this is intentional, but there was a big difference in the food, despite the menu's being the same).  To pride themselves in the best steaks in the city, the steak i ordered in their CBD store (Rangers Wagyu) was not that flash...  I have eaten at both The Cut and Prime and found their steaks to be of far better quality (or maybe prepared/cooked differently).  The service was great and the waiter knew his wines, which was very helpful.

If you are looking for an affordable steak house in the CBD where it’s quiet and hidden from the hustle and bustle of the city, I’d highly recommend Kingsleys for its great food, impeccable service and extensive wine selection. Food came out very quickly, and waiters were very attentive and friendly. Steaks were cooked perfectly and came with sauces and mustard accompaniments. Also enjoyed a whiskey flight with our dessert cheese platter. Would definitely come back to try the T-bone steak.

Way over priced for what we got.<br/>We had a team lunch. Service was horribly understaffed and poor especially for a place that should be used to serving large groups. Never again.<br/>Salad was bad. Pavlova looked pretty but was underwhelming. Eye fillet was good but nothing spectacular.
Yudi Xiao
My beef Wellington, friend's ribeye, taste just ok<br/>Services good, but do not allow me to have my birthday cake here, even I told this is my birthday cake<br/>Disappointed<br/>Never back again<br/>

Oysters were nice and steak is well cooked. We love the sweet Shiraz wine that the waiter recommends, you will love it if you're the big fans of sweet wine .

High quality service and delicious food! Steak is perfectly cooked, tender and juicy. But I would say the mash potato can have more cream in it.

Lack of compassion or customer service by the manager. <br/>Initially we thought it was a great place for couples, functions, groups and families. How wrong were we! My cousin and his wife were told by management to keep their innocent child quiet due to a nearby couple complaining. The manager stated they were paying customers, wanting a nice night out and the couple wanted the manager to tell my cousin and his wife their child was being disruptive. She wasn't crying or carrying on, instead she was enjoying herself and just being a child. Just like the numerous group of shouting adults that were in there. Why discriminate?!<br/>After I voiced my opinion about how she handled the situation, I stated that we were also paying customers wanting a good time and now that has been ruined by her lack of management and customer service. She disregarded the fact that we were a group that paid more then that complaining couple. It was handled so poorly it was offensive.<br/>If you plan on going there with children don't bother, there's a no place for kids there.
Pollo_pesce_me
Came here with few friends they ordered ribs, barramundy and I ordered scallops and salads. Friends mentioned steak was good quality but slightly over cooked. Bread was nothing special neither was salads. My scallop was ok not amazing. My sister had barramundy dish which she enjoyed. Service was ok too.

First time eating at Kingleys and I really had a mixed night. For starters we has the Rock Oysters and for mains I had the 650 Rib Eye and my date the Beef Wellington. The food was really good, in fact cooked to perfection. In particular the beef wellington was really tasty.<br/><br/>The service on the other hand was very mediocre especially for an upmarket steakhouse. We walked in and we were never greeted by anyone. I had to request that i had a booking. We then got shown our tables and some menus were put down. The waitress never asked us if we would like any help to choose between the different steaks or wine. We were never asked if we would like more wine or water or anything. We were still eating dessert and drinking wine when the bill was given to us. I consider this rude and pretty poor actually as if they were rushing me out the door. It was a 7pm sitting. Weird considering the place was half empty. I just ended up paying and walking out. The staff really needs to be more attentive here.<br/><br/>I stand by the food as it was tasty but the service was very poor.

I went to Kingsleys steakhouse for their CAAB dinner. An evening showing off their certified Australian angus beef. It was to showcase the use of the beef and in raw, smoked and grilled forms. The night started with some mingling and tasting the wines from Pollin and Pollin. A really nice Chardonnay - especially so, as I am not normally a chardonnay drinker. Canapés included bloody mary oyster shooters with cucumber pearls as well as seared beef and nori rolls with hot and sour dipping sauce. We took our seats and the whole venue was full of people here for the special dinner. We heard speeches from the past CEOs and it was interesting to hear about the history of the product and Kingsleys was the first place to offer Certified Australian Angus beef. <br/>The first dish was carpaccio. According to the first CEO, carpaccio is the best beef dish that is possible to eat, for texture, flavour in the beef which is the way to enjoy it. It was bloody delicious. Accompanied with beautifully cut and picked vegetables and a watercress purée. Also beautifully presented. Kingsleys was the first ever restaurant to produce certified angus beef. The second dish was a smoked CAAB brisket with parmesan filled choux buns and a sherry vinegar jus. The choux pastries were quite possibly the tastiest thing i've eaten! Wow!! A beautiful The main course was CAAB rump, eye fillet and rib eye on the bone, served with lemon, herb baby chat potatoes, artichokes which I loved!! There were sides of baby gem lettuce with heirloom tomatoes and feta. Just when you think you're full, a platter of cheeses come out - my favourite food. There were three types with chutney, jam, artisan sourdough and lavosh. This dinner as a whole was spectacular.<br/>

Kingsleys is one of the better steakhouses in Sydney. This restaurant is a little bit hidden down a laneway, which I feel adds extra charm to this hidden gem. The steak here is great, I ordered a medium rare fillet mignon and my boyfriend ordered a blue steak. Both were so tender and we were both really happy with our food choices. The garlic sautéed mushrooms area also delicious. Overall a very lovely restaurant and would definitely recommend for special occasions!

Still one of the better steakhouses in NSW. These guys are more of an upper market steakhouse with finer plating and service.<br/><br/>Tucked away down a little discreet driveway in the city is a nicely set up restaurant catering to the office workers and power meetings.<br/><br/>If you want a good steak and don't mind parting with a little bit of money, this is the place
Kerri
400g dry aged steak with baked potato, 300g rib eye ox steer with mash. Both cooked beautifully. Tender and juicy. Evenly cooked. No gristle. Enjoyed the difference in the two steaks. Dry aged a little more tender/ juicy but rib eye a little more depth in flavour.

If you ask me where to have steak, this place is definitely on top of my list. It's a steakhouse, with a good range of steak to choose from. It's not gonna break your bank, yet provide top quality steak. <br/><br/>I choose rib eyes that night, while my friend picked Wellington. both are really good, but the rib eye is better :) <br/><br/>This place also have a wide range of wine collection to match with steak. <br/><br/>Happy eating :)
Gourmet John
Good service, nice view of part of the Cbd, good steak. I ordered the Angus eye filet, while it was nice, it was a bit dry. Surprising as it was cooked medium. It did not blow my mind as I hoped it would for $50. The potato gratin was excellent as was the cauliflower side. I think there may be better out there for these prices.
Sophia
Very bad experience at the restaurant. It was my son's birthday and we were there to have family dinner. We were led to a corner on the upstair level. Not long before we just sit down, the baby cried., then a waiter came and asked me to take my baby out because there're customers complaining about the baby!! It was raining outside and we've walked quite a long way to get there. Or we would leave the restaurant immediately! This is discrimination! Who can stop a baby crying when getting to a new place and which rule says a restaurant can let a baby out because she's crying! The food was not as good as advertised either so we will never be there again. Strongly advise people not to go with kids in particular.

Beautiful historic building with a lovely rustic interior. I love how all the delicious steaks are enclosed in a front cold cabinet. My waitress Vicki was very knowledgeable with the menu and she was very helpful and highly attentive. The menu is great with a nice variety of meats - pasture and grain fed as well as a la carte dishes to choose from. I highly recommend the Charcuterie board and the Havericks Dry Aged beef NSW - Dry Aged rib on bone pasture fed 400gm. My pick for dessert is the Dark chocolate pudding with white chocolate and raspberry ripple ice cream!
Princess_Porky
A good solid and reliable steakhouse at reasonable prices. The steaks are cooked beautifully which is obviously the key element to a good steakhouse. Wasn't a fan of the mash, so I'd recommend going the chips route. The starters and salads were great. I highly recommend the charcuterie board which is brilliant.

Great place to chill out and have a steak. Quality steaks with a good range of prices to suit most budgets. Lots of space and easy to book last minute.

Kingsleys Australian Steakhouse are experts in the game, having been around for over 20 years. Tucked into a little enclosure in the heart of the CBD, step into Kingsleys and you step into elegance and sophistication, without the hefty price tag. Kingsleys are well established as a steakhouse, and have been immensely popular with corporate clientele, with their fantastic CBD location. Kingsleys however, is more than corporate lunches. In fact, the elegant decor and ambiance makes this place the ideal destination for romantic dinners or casual get togethers.

Dined here and the portions were large. I had the Freshly Baked Damper, Marinated Lamb Ribs, Beef Wellington, Beer Battered Onion Rings (bit over battered and oily), and Steamed Green Beans & Brocolini (mostly beans and 1 piece of brocolini and strangely broccoli). Service was very good.

This place has great steak but also offers other non steak dishes. Food tasted amazing and the service was really good. They have a good selection of wine as well. Overall a great place to eat.

We made a booking through Dimmi for the half price deal. Beimg a steakhouse, we obviously ordered the steaks. I had the dry aged rib on the bone with mushroom sauce. It was cooked medium rare and was tender and juicy. The meal tasted even better knowing it waa half price. I probably wouldn't go here again without the deal though as prices are quite steep for what you get.

ENTERTAINMENT BOOK 2015 - Gold Card Series: Fancy a nice dinner after work? This will be a great place. A nicely renovated steak house, traditional, comfortable stone wall with warm decorations. The seared scallops entree was fantastic, the bisque was just the right flavor, perfectly cooked scallops, exactly what to look for. Steaks, many to choose from, Angus, Ox Steers, Wagyu, etc. How would you like it? Blue, rare, medium rare? I love mine rare to medium rare, perfectly cooked, nice and juicy. Tiramisu, yummm and creamy, it's so nicely presented too.

Definitely a good steak and cooked my rare steak perfectly, not really a huge fan of their side but the steak made up for it :) their desserts are also quite okay
Andrew
Had Dinner there last night. The atmosphere was very nice. I liked the settings and the stone walls downstairs. Food was on time and big portions. Had the rib eye steak - medium rare and it was done ok. Overall, it the experience wasn't bad.

Best steak I've had in a long time. <br/><br/>Went with the 350g 100% Black Angus Rib Eye, cooked medium rare and came out as such. The chips could've been cooked a bit more but I was there for the meat anyway. The sauce that comes with the steak is actually amazing - would love to be able to buy a jar to take back home.<br/><br/>Will go again.
Jason Meaden
The steak was tasty, albeit slightly undercooked for medium-rare (but it's a personal judgment thing anyway). The chips are a highlight and the other sides were pretty good, apart from the onion rings which tasted reheated. The desserts are straight-forward and won't disappoint but won't be memorable either. The ambience is relaxed - which extends even to the staff in the kitchen and office area which are visible and seem perfectly happy to carry on about their business regardless what is happening in the front of house. Plenty of points for taste, not many for service.
Eating Out Sydney
Great experience in the Cigar Lounge which i booked for a function. We received fantastic service, professional staff and allocated bar attendant for the room. The 3 course dinner was delicious and well cooked, the entree even the olives and bread were really tasty. I highly recommend this private room to be booked.  It is downstairs so well out of the way of other patrons.

Kingsley’s Australian Steakhouse. Hiding in an alleyway off of King St, it’s a charming two level building. The extensive menu is dedicated to beef, from all walks of life. There are some scrumptious share plates and entrees to start with. We got the chorizo, which was fantastic. Fillet steak I ordered the fillet steak, rare, with a side of chips and bĂ©arnaise sauce. This was a winning combination. The fillet was tender and perfectly cooked, the bĂ©arnaise sauce complemented the meat well, and the chips were lovely and crisp. My partner’s steak, in comparison, was nowhere near as exciting – slightly overcooked, and less exciting. I like going for quality over quantity – you get less, but it’s more enjoyable! I’d highly recommend Kingsley’s for dinner, if you’re into steak. View Larger Map Tagged: steak , Sydney

Every now and again, I treat myself. To some, this may be purchasing your favourite pair of stilettos, but to me, it’s simply indulging in what really matters to me – good food. Woolloomooloo Wharf is always my first selection as I adore all the restaurants

Went to Kingsleys Australian Steakhouse on King St yesterday for a friend’s birthday. It was a littttle bit disappointing for me. Two of us ordered the rib-eye and le bf ordered a T-bone in medium-rare. The steak tasted like a pretty good quality steak for
a pub. It was a tad dry, not juicy enough and tasted fairly plain. So for a $40-50 a steak, I probably wouldn’t bother going back. For the same amount of money, I could get a pretty juicy nomnom steak at Hurricanes or Prime. But then I did use my Entertainment Card so I guess it wasn’t exactly $40-50, so that’s not too bad!

Cooked to our favourite medium rare as usual which was a relief, I was worried they would overcook because our experience with striploin has been a bit hit and miss. Luckily for us the steak was cooked perfectly tender and of course tasted very flavoursome. The chips were very crunchy and delicious and the mushroom sauce (not pictured) was very creamy and tasty, the bearnaise sauce was awesome as usual! 300g Rib-Eye Ox Steer Surf & Turf with Prawns & Truffle Butter I decided to be a little cheeky and order the prawns with my rib-eye and also got a little

The restaurant itself is tucked away on the Sussex St end of King St.  You can't actually see the restaurant from the street so you'll have to watch out for the big sign. Arriving at 12pm, it was a bit early for other people to have lunch so the restaurant was empty bar 2 tables of corporate types, but it soon filled up it around 1230- 1pm. We ordered 1 starter, 1 entree and 2 mains between the two of us which was plenty. Starter: Chorizo with mint (~$15) Entree: Grilled scallops with pork crackling and corn puree (~$20) Main #1: Medium Rib Eye Steak (300gm) red wine jus and mash (~$35) Main #2: Surf and Turf (200gm steak 3 grilled prawns) hollandaise sauce and baked potato (~$39) The highlight of the meal would definitely have been the grilled scallops - cooked to perfection and beautifully accompanied by the corn puree. So despite the slightly disappointing Fried Calamari, I would most definitely come back to Kingsleys Australian Steakhouse, if not for the delicious Lamb Rump, then at least for the olden day charm of its heritage listed abode.

Nice decor, Enjoyable wines, Friendly event service. There's some confusion over Kingsley restaurants in Sydney with the same name

Kingsleys at King Street is the original of this group of steakhouses and is located in a heritage-listed former soap and candle factory. It is now the only steakhouse left bearing its name - the other two being rebranded Steersons in recent years. They a

There isn't a worst feeling than being cheated... and I would least expect it from a place as renouned as Kingsley Steakhouse. It started off well, as with all relationships. Kingsley appeared popular and I was intrigued. It's menu boasted lavish prices..

Had a very poor experience on Monday December 15 at kingsleys..have been going there for several years..but no more..went there to order the slow cooked beef ribs that are shown on menu as well as the minced meat burger..neither was available, strip steak was the meat offered on burger and nothing suggested for similar price or like the ribs..no compensation offered at end of mealy..just drink and keep buying..staff were good at getting us to keep buying.not happy with the excuses of why two mains not available nor compensation...we contemplated leaving at that stage but stayed on to spend $230.00<br/>Plenty of other restaurants to attend. We will do just that.

Looking forward to a great steak. I never complain - but my rib eye on the bone was thin, full of sinew and over cooked.<br/>I was so close to making a complaint but held back.<br/>I was entertaining senior management from Europe so I hope their food was acceptable.<br/>To add insult to injury I took care of the bill...

Terrible service. Service was shocking, waited 30 mins for drinks then another 45 for food!

Nice, but impersonal. My steak, Rib Eye on the bone, could not be faulted, cooked medium.<br/>Service was ok... efficient but cold.<br/><br/>The only real bug bear that I have, call me old fashion, but if your spending $50.00 on a steak, be a little more generous with the chips or mash potato, the quantity was very light.

Steak Heaven. Superb Steaks... Great Wine Selection to match... Amazing atmosphere!<br/>Coming back real soon!!!

Highly recommend. We had our christmas party at Kingsleys on Saturday night and we all had a wonderful time. The food was awesome... That Pork Belly was soooo good and the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating with all our needs and quick with service. They really made a great night even better. <br/>Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone and will definitely keep it in mind for any future events. Our best xmas party to date!!

Always great for a good steak. Was and has always been the best Steakhouse in Sydney. Any others....let me know. I lenjoy the rib-eye medium. The flavour is what I keep going back for time and time again. Atmosphere is lively and always a warm welcome by the staff.

Single. Nice environment, but my service was poor as a single diner. Ordered a medium-well ribeye, and you would think a steakhouse would know how to prepare it. It was more medium on the rare side in the middle, although one side was close. Staff not interested. I think a group may have a nicer experience. Over rated.
DamianM
The steak is ok- at best. But the service is atrocious. A wait to be seated, then no attention at all. Here is a tip... If a table has one person, they will probably not be tolerant of lengthy waits between getting the menu, placing orders etc. having to wait 15 min for a glass of wine is simply not acceptable. My suggestion. Go to another steak house!
Bill Hazeldean
Awful! Service is amateurish and steaks cooked on low heat - no caramelisation, and no succulence. Anyone heard of Josper grills? Dreadful food, overpriced.
Kymberlysloan
NOT KID FRIENDLY. Went to Kingsleys on king street. Horrible experience. NO kids menu but yet they say they are kid friendly?! Steak was good, everything else, sides, sauce was cold. Pepper corn sauce watery and microwaved. Never again. Soo expensive as well.

Went here on Saturday night. We had steak and a bottle of wine. The quality of the food was very good. One of the best places I would recommend for a steak.Ambience nice and good quality wine to match the steak.Only complaint would be the waiting staff as they seemed to be a bit distant and not enough staff .....

Pretty damn good. I went for lunch with a couple of mates and found a they offer a great value entree, main and glass of wine special ($39pp). The service wasn't amazing but the food and the wine list were impressive. Perfectly-cooked steak, sinus-clearing mustard and a cheeky GSM. Could have settled in if I didn't have to return to the office.

Best steak I've had in a long time. I booked Kingsley's for my boyfriend's birthday dinner last Friday night, having had a recommendation from a friend, and my god it was good! We arrived early and were one of the first people in the restaurant, and the maitre'd gave us a fabulous wine recommendation (Grant Burge) and a complimentary tasting plate of the chorizo & marinated olives. If you dine here, you MUST order the chorizo to start - it was the best I have ever had, and is made especially for them.<br/><br/>Our steaks were lovely - I had the eye fillet which was lovely and tender and cooked perfectly, and the chips were amazing but I couldn't fit them all in! I would go back here in a heartbeat, it's a wonderful special occasion restaurant.

Fillet mignon was far better than the rib-eye. But overall was a great dining experience. Tip: order the Ben Schild Reserve Shiraz to go with your steaks! Delicious!!

Just don't mention your Spreets voucher. Still trying to get a booking using a Spreets voucher. It seems they limit the number of bookings with vouchers. So despite there being availability, they would rather take their chances, and wait for fully paying customers to make a booking. I know this because 1 week after trying to book in for a Saturday night in January, using the Spreets voucher, and being told they were fully booked, i decided to ring back, but this time NOT mention i was using a voucher, and surprise surprise, there was suddenly availability. The lady on the phone i spoke to denied that they discriminate against prepaid voucher users, but they cannot deny the evidence i gathered, and clearly they have daily voucher quotas. I will eventually use the voucher, and not order anything extra as i do not want to give these greedy corporates another dime of my money.

Average food and poor service. Food is average considering the expensive prices. I ordered the Wagyu rib-eye at $69.50 which was fine, nothing to write home about. My wife had the Barramundi fillet which was dry and the veggies were undercooked. <br/><br/>Tried to use the Entertainment book voucher but was told I wouldn't be able to use the voucher at the same time as my Qantas Frequent Flyer card. Never had this issue in any other restuarant and my wife and I dine out in Sydney at least 5 times per week. The Maitre d' was quite rude about the issue too. Apparently they have to pay for both machines so they only allow 1 card to be used per meal. Well presumably every other restaurant in Sydney has to pay for 2 machines, but they are happy to accommodate their clients, and they don't charge the same high prices.<br/><br/>My wife and I both have regular corporate group dinners here due to its close location to our offices but will be choosing to dine elsewhere in future.

Great entree and great dessert, but just missing a wow factor with their steaks given that their menu is pretty pricy. Definitely worth going once a year if you have the entertainment book discount offer, and i have to say that their service is up above standard, very friendly and helpful.

Still good! Good food and service. The wagyu top sirloin is excellent! Goes great with the elderton Shiraz 2007....yum!

Exciting. Good steak. Great wine list. The service was a bit ordinary and the bill very exciting. Good night had by all though.

Bad. I thought this was the same Kingsleys as in Canberra, and Wooloomooloo. WRONG! It's not, it's worse and more expensive. Go to Wooloomooloo instead.

Sorry folks I disagree. The steaks were cooked to perfection and the sides just the right size. I have been twice in recent times and will definitley go again. Great for a romantic dinner or business luncheon. Terrific wine list. Also has a fantastic private room downstairs

The food was terrible, the staff were arogant and rude, and to top it all off the glasses were filthy. Final bill was $180. Forget about this place, for the slap up food and sloppy service you are better off at Tony Romas!!!

I have been to Kingsleys many times but unfortunately the last two were a flop. Spending $48.00 plus sides for a Rib Eye, I asked for Medium & received blue. Steak went back and returned 10 minutes later, still blue. What happened? Twice is a pattern. Sad to see the slip.
